Came here on a Friday night for a few drinks and food. Good vibes in here. Love the location of the place. The ambiance is relaxed, low light as soon as you walk in and the place is buzzing with energy. The food and drinks here are amazing. Got some oysters to share.. so fresh and light, with all the fixings just as you would like. Perfect. Also the fries were chefs kiss. Super light and fluffy and flavorful.. always a perfect addition to any meal! I got the short rib and lemme tell ya... super good. Packed full of flavor, good quality meat.. very good! Wouldn't change much about it. It was a larger, more filling dish, and this with the addition of the apps was more than enough. I got my typical grey goose club soda lemon lime and they were actually served fairly strong ( will never complain about that lol). Waitress was good.. she definitely checked on us a lot, I wish that she would checked on us a bit less because it did become a bit much at a certain point. I would definitely come back here!

Cozy French place with a solid happy hour menu and relaxed vibe. Service was fine--cocktail and food came out quickly. I had the croque vegetarienne. It came with a yummy balsamic drizzle, and the pommes frites were top notch. My cocktail was EXCELLENT--I got the happy hour paper plane.

A very cute restaurant in Minneapolis! I came here for an early brunch and loved the cozy interior the moment I walked in. They have a variety of French style dishes and unlimited coffee refills. On a large chalkboard by the bar there's a list of specials as well. I started with the carrot squash soup which was so fall in a bowl. Comforting and creamy. The accompanied crispy bread piece was great too. I also for the buckwheat savory crepe that was filled with mushroom and spinach and it was filling. The buckwheat makes the crepe a little thicker I think. Plate comes with poached eggs and the yolkiness helps bind everything together. The side house salad was also very refreshing too. Overall, a really cute spot that I'd recommend! I heard their dinner is quite good too.

Here is the quiche I received. Slightly burnt and thin no as a pizza slice. How can a chef or owner let that out of the kitchen?

I want Barbette to succeed. Important place for the neighborhood. Great staff. But they have to up their food game. This is the slightly burnt, pizza thin "quiche." No owner or chef should allow this out of the kitchen.

Roasted Beet Salad

My coworker and I went for restaurant week because they were wanting French cuisine. The beet salad was lacking flavor and I got no blood orange flavor. The salmon was delicious as were the carrots and mashed potatoes. The standout was dessert. The brûlée cheesecake was so tasty. Our server was amazing and my companion found her very cute.

The food definitely lived up to the hype! We had a group of 4 there for Saturday Brunch. It was too hot to sit on the patio, but the inside with AC was definitely welcome. Our service was great.

Stopped by during happy hour and had a lovely experience! We ordered the mussels, burger, croque madame, and a glass of house white wine -- the mussels were especially delicious, and the wine paired perfectly. The outdoor seating was beautiful and relaxing, and I loved that it was dog-friendly. We finished off with the carrot cake, which definitely lived up to the hype -- so good! Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Ham and Gruyere Omelet

The food lacked flavor and I was pretty disappointed with it. Barbette used to be a classic when we came to town, but the food did not deliver today. I had the Ham and Gruyère omelet which was quite small and lacked a lot of flavor--I had to put quite a bit of hot sauce on it. The restaurant is pretty and has good seating both indoors and out. Our server was nice, but brought some of the drinks in much smaller glasses than tables near us who ordered the same drinks and got more of those drinks. When asked, the server got a bigger glass with the rest of the beverage.

Well, the place is faultless. Brunch guy here; no misses on 3 mains in 2 visits. Excellent coffee and espresso. Good wine and beer lists. Really surprising happy hour choices (and prices!). Comfy vibe, good music, sharp and friendly servers.

I visited Barbette in Minneapolis which gives us a touch of Paris nestled in a beautiful section in Uptown Minneapolis. The staff was very friend and provided quick and quality service. I ordered the Croque Vegetariene. It was good in general, however not really what I expected as compared a regular croque; it was more like piece of toast with the a little bechemel and gruyere inside almost like a version of a caprese sandwich. The pomme frites, though, were incredible-- and tasty. I also tried a cappuccino, which was silky, strong, and strong to drink. It all combined to make a good meal, and I'd recommend Barbette as a good spot if you want French-inspired cuisine done that little bit differently. Parking actually was not bad as we visited around the later brunch hours on a Sunday. This place is a must go.

Classic Tartare (Beef)

Let me start out by saying this place is SO CUTE! I love all the French inspired decor and it has such a cozy bistro feel. The was a bit of a mixed back. The appetizers were wonderful! We got the Classic Beef Tartare and Pan Seared Scallops. Both were 5/5 and I would order again. For entrees we got Lamb Chops, Steak Frites, and Butternut Squash & Mushroom Risotto. They were all just okay. The fries for the Steak Frites were the star - crispy and salty, but arrived just above room temperature. The steak itself I could have gotten from Applebee's and not know the difference. The Lamb Chops were flavorful, but very small portions. The Risotto was very bland. The staff was all very friendly, but service was a bit slow. We were there on a Thursday night and it wasn't busy, so it seemed odd that it took so long to get our entrées. We had wanted to order dessert, but we had an event to get to and were concerned about timing. Overall I was a bit underwhelmed by our experience. I would give the place a second chance, but maybe just for drinks and appetizers or dessert.

My boyfriend and I decided to come here for their happy hour and it was an okay experience. We ordered a dozen oysters and a bottle of bubbly for $42 which is a great deal. We definitely wish they would've told us the west cost oysters were huge and had a much different texture from most oysters. They were a bit hard to eat. We also ordered steak tartare and it was pretty good but nothing memorable. This is a cute restaurant but I don't think it's anything I'd come back for. The service wasn't up to par either. Our waitress was nice but we found ourselves looking around trying to get attention to order and grab our check.

Here's a rundown of our amazing meal: Starters: The Kanpachi CRUDO, POMMES DAUPHINES (with amazing gruyère dipping sauce) and Chilled GREEN GAZPACHO (they split this for us since it's a soup) were all fantastic. Entrees: The Walleye was great and we really enjoyed the AMERICAN WAGYU STEAK butchers cut. They all had great and unique flavors. Desserts: The server recommended the peach cobbler and we received a delicious complimentary sundae since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Cocktails: I really enjoyed the Paper Plane since I like tequila and my husband liked his Old Fashion. The Spritz was also refreshing. The server did a great job pacing everything, and was knowledgeable with the menu and the waitstaff was polite and attentive. We reserved a table outside since it was a nice summer day and enjoyed our little spot along the restaurant. Other tips: We found free parking in the lot at the building at 5:00. Make reservations several weeks in advance if you want a table since this place is super popular. The location used to be the Revival restaurant if you are familiar with the area or the previous restaurant. We would definitely dine here again and it's one of my favorite restaurants now. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

However, Bûcheron, located in Kingfield, one of the most down-to-earth neighborhoods in Minneapolis, deserved all its accolades. We grabbed two seats at the small bar, and I was immediately wary. The woman behind the bar, while professional, was ice cold. She warmed up later, but what registered from her affect was that we weren't worthy of dining in this esteemed restaurant. It was off-putting, but she was friendlier later in the evening. I'm old, so that might be it too. Many younger people in the Twin Cities don't like old men. Bûcheron's space is small and homey, tying in well with the Kingfield neighborhood. It's cozy and unpretentious. I liked that. The food was scrumptious. Everything tasted wonderfully, and there wasn't even one miss. The menu changes constantly, so listing the dishes might be moot. However, the Pomme Dauphines, gazpacho soup, halibut, and sticky toffee cake made us sigh with pleasure. On a Monday night, the place was packed, but it empties early. That's typical in the Twin Cities. Late dining is not in vogue. However, Bûcheron is popular, so make reservations early. For the 12 months that we have lived in the Twin Cities, Bûcheron and Myrial provided our best meals. Bravo and Brava! Both were priced fairly, providing bang for your buck. I don't need cheap, but I yearn for great. Bûcheron provided great.

We made reservations without another thought. I ended up googling the menu and realizing my partner was a little off on what type of cuisine this was and I was in unfamiliar territory though still excited to try. We loved every second of our experience here! The decor was amazing, the service was exceptional, the food was to die for. They had a special Valentine's Day menu which included beef Wellington for two, so we got that. Asked if it had sides and they said no. I asked if a veg was possible, expecting frozen, microwaved bland veggies. We got beautifully roasted, seasoned veggies that were amazing. Plus the beef Wellington was melting in our mouths. Cocktails were also exceptional. We had an espresso martini and old fashioned which came with a table side experience. We ended our adventure with the sticky toffee torte which was another exceptional dish. Our server was so kind and so so knowledgeable about every item and restaurant in the owners catalog. It was supposed to be served with crepes and I had visions of Saluf and Sons Yemeni restaurant in Tel Aviv (now closed). Here it was served with a French bread / hot dog bun. Crepe???? I liken it to movie/show spoilers... I don't want to reveal too much, and dilute the awe of your first experience. So with that, Demi has been on my radar for years, and as I prepared for an outing worthy of celebrating my milestones, I knew the time had come. I went for the autum 2026 wc whitney menu, which states 9 courses, but it was 11 given the mushroom broth in the beginning, and chocolates at the end. Anyway, the food was amazing, the service exceptional, and although I went solo, I met a couple of lovely folks seated next to me that only added to the experience. So with that, here are a few highlights: -Avoid arriving extremely early. Within 5mins of your reservation is more than enough. I arrived 9mins early, but used the time for photos and a tasty cocktail, "Trouble in Paradise" $20, before seating began. -The experience is very personal. From beginning to end. When completing your reservation, be sure to include details/the reason for your visit. They actually read it! -If you're contemplating going alone, do it! I was the only one by themselves, and still felt engaged! Sitting with views of the kitchen, you see all the action and it's quite the production. There's a rhythm as the service flows, everyone has a role, yet it's all hands on deck with so much attention to the details. It's like catching a glimpse of the backstage crew working behind the curtains at a show, which I love. -I skipped the beverage pairings and just ordered two drinks by the glass. One being a red wine that I asked be paired with my pasta course and went well with the following two (duck, then wagyu). I didn't check prices beforehand, but both turned out to be pricey($50 total). So with that, either inquire in the moment, or just limit yourself so the surprise isn't exorbitant and beyond what the pairing would have been. And if you're not worried about price, then YOLO. -The one area of improvement I noticed was with a substitute given to those with food restrictions. I saw reviews from folks who only received brie cheese for a course, and then I witnessed it while there. Since restrictions are provided beforehand, it seems more in-line with the dining experience to create an option that's elevated. Not just a slice or 2 of cheese (while others are eating something substantial). That aside, it was lovely and I'd recommend it.

We arrived a bit early for our reservation and were seated right away (woo hoo!). Our awesome server, Nico, came by right away with menus, which we eagerly began to peruse. I was stoked to see that they still have an amazing selection of creative zero proof options on the drink menu. I went for a non-alcoholic bubbly (yum!). The menu had some old favorites (hello, piquillo peppers) and some new things. I highly recommend the smashed cucumbers. They are so refreshing and well-balanced. The dill yogurt foam is creamy and tart, and the pickled Fresno peppers and garlic add just the right amount of bright bite. Another don't-miss is the fry bread. Fry bread is delicious however it comes, but this came with whipped ricotta and salsa macha (which became my favorite condiment of all time when it first graced my lips here several years ago) and the loveliest smoked beets I have ever had. (Full disclosure: I am pretty sure they are the only smoked beets I have ever had, which is a crying shame.) For my main, I ordered the cabbage, which was beautifully caramelized and topped with a delightfully umami-heavy mushroom gravy and cloud of grated cheese. It tasted like comfort and home. Bliss! For dessert, I had the tarta de queso, which is one of my favorite desserts in the Twin Cities; creamy and light with just a hint of sweet, this one is a winner, and I am sad it took me so long to discover.
