I started with a green salad and loved the balance of tastes and textures. The greens were tender and crisp, the nuts crunchy, the chèvre yogurt creamy, and the dressing exactly right. (It was almost but not quite too pretty to eat.) For my main, I ordered the tofu hash, one of the vegan offerings. Flavored with a tasty chili sauce and fermented black beans, this was an intriguing and delicious entree. The sautéed vegetables were tender and beautifully complemented the crisp tofu and yucca, and the arugula salad added a refreshing element. There was a ton--I had leftovers for a truly delicious lunch. I also have to compliment their N/A selection. I ordered the Aplós Ume Spritz, and it was a very delightful way to start my meal. Light, sweet, and a pretty shade of pinkish-purple, it tasted just like a summer party. This would be a great place to grab dinner with friends, family, or that special someone. Think I just opened a can of chef boyardee's and poured on a plate cold. It was disgusting. Oh and the "refired spaghetti" (buttered noodles) was also cold. The chicken parm (which their version is deep fried chicken) was warm but unseasoned and the breading was oil sogged because the frying oil was clearly not hot enough. This place gets 1 star. My favorite part was when the runner was doing her makeup in a mirror behind the hostess stand in the middle of the dining room. At a price of $183 for two for pasta this place needs to rethink their workers, their menu, and how they are going to keep attracting people. Shut down for three weeks and learn how to run your restaurant! That the Strib gave these guys a glowing review is beyond me. Very emperor's new clothes.

The other staff were friendly and accommodating as well. We observed that they were playing Kendrick Lamar, but it was so quiet so as not to feel out of place at a steakhouse. The food tasted as good as it looks! The gougeres were light, fresh, and soft. The potato pave was decadent and creamy--elevated comfort food. The game hen was a tad too intense for me, but objectively a very good dish. The desserts stole the show, however. Both the pistachio cake and the snack bar donut (basically a creme brulee donut) were well worth the extra money and calories after an already full meal!

I decided to try the White Chocolate Panna Cotta because I'd never had panna cotta before. It was beautifully plated, but this is also how I learned panna cotta has a Jell-O-like texture... and I do not like Jell-O. That's definitely a me problem rather than a criticism of how it was prepared. At least I can officially say I've tried panna cotta! I ended up trying the Crème Brûlée as well. Unfortunately, that wasn't my favorite either. I usually love crème brûlée, but I prefer the custard very smooth and creamy, and this one was thicker than I personally like. My partner had the Chocolate Molten Cake and thought it was okay, but it wasn't a favorite for him either.
