Truffle Crunch burger
Anthony T.

We have been here a few times, not recently tho. And after our time here today, not sure if we will be back. Our server was nice. The food wasn't too bad. The truffle burger had good flavor. My martini was ok. Thats the only good thing I can say about the experience. The AC was not working in the building. There were no fans to help move air, so it was warm and stagnant. Looking up at the ceiling, you can see mold on the AC vents, on ceiling tiles, and around light fixtures. Our server told us that for almost all of August they didn't have AC either. I would close the restaurant... not very good working or dining conditions at all. But the mold... visible mold around the restaurant.... Absolutely disgusting. We will not be back. This is Winter Park village... I expect a lot higher caliber of care taken in the presentation of the business.

Bar Louie is a great chain, but this restaurant in WPV is one of their best. The staff is super friendly, the food is delicious, and it's a perfect casual bite spot. If you download their app they have an incredible rewards program.

Cajun Salmon & Shrimp

Atmosphere here is great, with live music on some nights. I sat at the bar, so service was friendly and quick. The drinks are amazing with a solid selection of martinis. The food was pretty good also. I tried the Cajun salmon and shrimp that was deliciously seasoned and sauced. Definitely worth a try if in the area.

I love when a bar gets bar food right. The location is large and never too busy. The staff is good but the fact that there's no one to greet you upon arrival and no sign to say seat yourself is a little strange. Also, the happy hour deals are awesome.

Time to try this

We had a big group of us who went out for drinks and food and came across Bar Louie. Our server was Tanisha I believe and she was amazing, super friendly and willing to assist in any way possible. We ordered a few drinks and appetizers while we hung out. The drinks and food were good, not great but not bad either just good. Bar Louie is a pretty cool spot to hang out at and service was great but food is average.

One of my favorite places to go to! They have a great happy hour menu and regular menu. Drinks are half off during happy hour and they have plenty of other good and cheap options during that time. The nachos were loaded as you can see and very delicious. The burger was well seasoned and juicy just how I like it. I will always recommend Bar Louie, they disappoint me!

Chi Chicken Tenders Entrée

Good martinis! Especially the s'mores martini which all martinis are half price on Thursday. The chicken tenders were really good as well.

Dirty Martini & Truffle Fries

Bar Louie in Winter Park is a nice stop before heading to the movies! We always grab a martini or two as well as their truffle fries. We also have ordered their fried pickles to go and brought them with us into the movies :) Bar Louie is your typical bar food, with a few options that are exceptions. But I wouldn't call the food "high quality" or "fancy" by any means. But if you need a snack or beverage before heading to the movies, it's a solid choice. My one complaint is the amount of olives in the dirty martini. I need at least 3 (see photo with 3 haha). But one time we went, and after our first round of martinis with only one olive, I asked for extra olives and she gave me two LOL. Like I said EXTRA not TWO. Also the bartender spilled a good chunk of the martini on the ground (we watched it happen) and she said nothing. So it can be hit or miss with the bartender, so keep that in mind. I'll still come back as they have a solid happy hour (Monday-Friday from 3-6 pm)!

Spinach & Artichoke Dip
Jason D.

It was date night and wanting to watch the game. Had not been here in a little bit and wanted to try it out again. It was not overly busy at all. Got an outside table and the manager changed tv for us. Started out with the spinach and artichoke dip. This was a little disappointing as the dip itself was not very much and lacked a little flavor. I got the chef burger with tots. She got the grilled cheese. Both were good and flavorful Will of course come back and try something new

New! Salmon Sliders
Madison D.

Went here with my friend on Saturday. We both started off with some drinks. I asked for a high noon and the server brought out a Jai Alai (IPA)... she insisted it was a high noon and I told her it was 100% not a high noon lol. She showed me the screen and it said Jai Alai... understandable confusion- they sound similar. She left the beer because we had sipped it and my friend decided she'd just drink it. The server ended up coming back and taking it which seemed weird? Anyways. We ordered our food (I got salmon sliders, she got burger sliders)... after about 30 minutes my sliders came out. Honestly- they were really good. Unfortunately they weren't hot. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the fish was tender. The buns were a bit dry and hard but the sauce helped. The fries were stale. My friend's burger sliders came out about 10 minutes later which I thought was odd because the restaurant was not packed at all. It's nice when everyone's food comes out together and it sucked mine came out first and was already cold. She asked for some ranch for her fries and it took literally 15 minutes to get it. Our server disappeared. We didn't even see ANY servers walking around for that amount of time. By the time my friend got the ranch she was done eating. The place definitely feels understaffed. It's disappointing because this place is such a vibe and it's in such an awesome area. The inside has good music playing, low lighting, lots of seating to go with friends... and the outside is awesome too because you get a view of everything going on and there is fans to keep you cool. Some music would be nice though (outside). Unfortunately I will not be returning. This was my second time trying this place out. My first experience was similar. Long wait times, bad service, mid food. The server was super sweet and kept apologizing but it was issue after issue. I hate to give bad reviews but this was just not a great experience.

Happy birthday Chris. With Latorrance and yours truly!

Excellent lunch special on Tuesdays. Great service, and a nice budget friendly burger and fries lunch special.

"Great happy hour spot! The drinks were beautifully made and the food was fresh and flavorful. Loved the sliders and flatbread, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Friendly service too (Khelani at the bar was amazing) I'll definitely be back."

Klaudia W.

My friends and I frequent here since it's a reliable spot, great happy hours, and amazing service. I love that it doesn't get too loud in there. Every time we've come here our. servers have been friendly, funny, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Martini Mondays will always see me, and they're a great deal! the food is also amazing they have a large selection for happy hour, i really recommend the margarita flatbread, the garlic, and the pesto are amazing on it. If you're a drinker don't skip the s'mores martini for dessert, I dream of it.

What nights do they have live music, if any?

All I know is Thursday nites they have live music.

Is the kitchen open until 2am on saturdays too?

They close at 2am every night of the week except Sunday which is 12am. As far as the kitchen is concerned, I believe the kitchen closes either 1hr or 30 min before the restaurant closes.

Is your winter park patio Dog friendly?

The restaurant is quite large inside as well as a good-sized outside area. The bar area looked lively and full. We enjoyed the Truffle Carbonara large plates (both chicken and shrimp). They were both delicious and plentiful. The sauce and the poached egg on top sent it over the top. Also had the large Salmon plate which was also delicious and served on fresh greens. It was wonderful to not feel rushed as we were celebrating a birthday. The only item that was underwhelming, surprisingly were the complimentary birthday churros. That set a great tone and our server, Hannah, kept it going. Even with the dining room busy, she was a total pro. Attentive, friendly, and totally on top of things without a single dip in service quality. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag. Truffle Carbonara 5/5! Absolutely fantastic. It was rich, creamy, and loaded with generous amounts of mushrooms and bacon. If you're ordering a comforting pasta dish, this is the way to go. Pollo al Chilindrón 1/5. Unfortunately, a major miss. The menu describes it as pan-seared, but the chicken had zero sear and no flavor. The red pepper stew lacked depth, and the accompanying rice was equally bland. If this were a quick frozen meal from Trader Joe's, you might forgive it, but coming out of a restaurant kitchen, it just doesn't land. Go for the great service and a stellar carbonara but I'll definitely be steering clear of the chicken next time. Hope they tighten up that recipe!

Everything I eat was delicious. My favorite would be the shrimp scampi, it even warmed up well the next day! And I was most intrigued by the peaches and cream dessert as I've never really seen anything like this, but it was delicious. I wish there was a little more guava in it and that it was a little easier to breakthrough the shell but other than that a great dessert. The mocktail called the grove and jam was also amazing and really good and inspire me to want to make mocktails at home!

As for the dessert, the peaches and cream was okay (not a big peach fan) but the banana cream dessert was beyond a freaking delight! I was obsessed. Would totally come back, had a great meal, great service (our server was awesome!) and a fantastic time overall.

An apropos name for a gastropub in the heart of Winter Park Village, The Hangry Bison had been on my list to try for awhile. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our time, in large part because of the great service by Emi. She was attentive, engaging, personable, and professional. We also enjoyed the food cooked to order and the comfortable seating area. To start, our appetizer of soft pretzels and beer cheese arrived and was quickly shared (devoured - I was fortunate to get a picture). The warm, cheese-covers pretzels were solid, and a good choice to carry us through until our main courses arrived. I ordered the Build Your Own Burger, medium, complete with a write-on menu to check off my choices. Sweet potato fries asked me to try them out along with the Bison burger, which I had never eaten. My Bison burger with minimal extras and the Bourbon glaze looked appetizing, and the flavor of the burger held its own. Plenty of sweet potato fries joined the burger on the plate, and I enjoyed their slightly firm exterior with the soft, sweet interior. Even the leftovers tasted good two days later. I ordered and enjoyed The Soldiers Lemonade, but wished I had started drinking it sooner than later due to the crushed ice. The warm night quickly melted it. We agreed that we'd return again for the burgers, comfortable atmosphere, and great service.

It was a great size, has a hearty crust for good handling, and the toppings are just magnificent in quantity And quality. Just wow. Delicious. For my main, I had the Crab Cakes (citrus beurre blanc, tomato-smoked pepper jam, fries). Again, dynamite dish. Lots of crab in those cakes, a creamy, acidic sauce as a nice foil to the crab, and then a nice little pop of that smoked pepper jam to really make the dish interesting with every bite. So good. I also got to try a nightly special they had, a Lamb Tenderloin. Perfectly medium rare, a nice rice side, just done really well. We finished off with probably the best part of the night, the Skillet Brownie (salted caramel, vanilla soft serve). Insane. Ooey and gooey, warm and chocolatey, with a hint of salty caramel. With that dollop of vanilla ice cream just melting away on top, it was the perfect dessert. What really set back this visit was the service. Our server was just awful, I'm sorry.
