**AMAZING FOOD ** AMBIANCE (4/5): This place was pretty empty when we came for lunch, it had just opened and there was only one other table. SERVICE (5/5): Service was prompt from beginning to end. FOOD (5/5): LOVED EVERYTHING WE ORDERED!! Starts off with FREE focaccia bread. Super soft, fluffy, perfect amount of salt, served with the best olive oil you'll ever eat! Trust me. $3.50 ICED TEA $15 BAKED CLAMS: The most amazing clam sauce that's ever touched my tongue. We had to ask for more bread to eat every last drop. $22 CACIO E PEPE: Simple, yet amazing! Can't go wrong with this pasta classic. $24 TUSCAN SALAD with CHICKEN MILANESE: perfectly flattened and crispy chicken, seasoned amazing! The salad was absolutely delicious. OVERALL (5/5): This place blew my expectations through the roof! The seasoning on everything was TOP TIER! The flavors, bursting! Service impeccable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! & just order one of everything on the menu.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE this spot! It delivers on all fronts from speedy service, cozy and slightly upscale vibes, and absolutely delicious food at a reasonable price. We tried some of their most popular dishes, and I can confirm they're popular for a reason. The cauliflower was cooked to perfection with a light crisp on the exterior and soft and pillowy on the interior all without being too heavy. The sweet sauce that accompanied it makes it even more addicting. As for the salad, while it's not the best caesar I've had in my life (coulve used some more dressing), the tender chicken pairs very well with the fresh, crisp lettuce and the crunchy breadcrumbs on top making for a very satisfying and refreshing bite. Really though, the pizza was the star of the meal for me. While different from any traditional style I've seen, it was as thin crust as it gets for pizza, having an ultra crispy bottom crust that held up beautifully to the tasty toppings which pack in the flavor and also had a slightly more fluffy crust for some additional contrast. All in all, with large portions perfect for sharing, an atmosphere that feels like more than just a casual dinner, and prices that won't break the bank, Bar'Cino is a MUST TRY and is certainly a restaurant I will visit frequently from here on out! The meal was so tasty without being overly heavy, and overall the experience was one to remember!
I loved the interior of this restaurant! It's very open and spacious, there was also outdoor seating available, but my friends and I got seated at a booth. We made reservations ahead of time but you could probably do a walk in. All the food was delicious! Highlights: cacio pepe pasta & fig and prosciutto bruschetta. The pasta was DELICIOUS and good to share because it's a heavy/creamy dish. Honestly I enjoyed all the food we ordered and would order them again. Next time I want to try their pizza and other pastas. There are metered parking spots nearby and some side streets have free parking on Sundays. I would try to get here a little early to make sure you can find a spot. There's also plenty of other small cafes and stores in the area that you can browse. Overall, great location & ambiance, amazing food, very satisfied with our meal :)
Nice ambience; service was good and food was very presentable. I liked the leeks on a goat cheese spread, and cauliflower was ok.
I stopped by on a Friday around 5:30pm and the place was already packed. Luckily there were a few bar seats still available so 2 of us were able to get seated immediately without a reservation. We decided to split the fritto misto ($15), antipasto ($22), carnaroli risotto ($25), and finished with a slice of the limoncello mascarpone cake ($10). The food arrived quickly and barely fit into the space we had at the bar. We really enjoyed the zesty, slightly bitter fried lemon slices in the fritto misto, but the rest of the fried seafood was not particularly memorable. The lemon aioli had such a mild lemon flavor that I thought it was plain aioli. We realized that the antipasto might be better split between 3 or more people. There were generous portions of cured meats and olives but everything together was pretty salty! I liked the assortment of flavors and textures from the sweet fig jam and tangy beans to the crusty bread and juicy tomatoes. When we first received the risotto, the dish still looked pretty watery, but over time the rice absorbed all of the sauce and became creamy. There were lots of mushrooms and chestnuts in the dish to enjoy with every bite of rice. The mushrooms and chestnuts added so much umami and texture. I wouldn't have minded if the rice was a little firmer. Finally, the lemon mascarpone cake was not too sweet and had a strong lemon flavor. I was not expecting the raspberry on top to be frozen. The mascarpone cream on the side added moisture without being too overwhelmingly creamy.
I was excited to try this place since it looked so nice, but it definitely let me down. I got the campanelle and it was super dry and bland. The portion was super tiny. The pasta didn't seem homemade and the chicken was just ripped pieces of rotisserie chicken that was unseasoned. The food did come out fast and I think the bar area looked nice so maybe just come here for drinks.
Pretty popping on a weekday evening but easy to make a res. Some free bread to start but nothing memorable. The rigatoni bolognese blew me away--so rich and meaty! I also loved the roasted chicken grilled pizza, very unique and fun to cut with scissors. The pasta portion was on the small side, so splitting that and a pizza (large) was perfect. Would return fs!
Loved our visit to Bar'Cino yesterday! The restaurant itself is in a great location right on the C line. The decor was so cute with lots of natural lighting. Our waiter was also super nice and gave us good recs. We shared a few dishes that we really loved. Everything we got was pescatarian friendly! The Tuscan kale salad was great as a kale lover. The risotto was cooked well and had great creamy flavor. The fritto misto had a good variety of seafood, but probably not the best I've ever had. And we enjoyed the tuna pasta which wasn't too fishy. Topped off with the tiramisu which was a great portion to share and had yummy crunchy toppings.
The weight staff was amazing, very helpful. The place was very clean. But unfortunately, this dish wasn't that good. It had way too much parsley, and it was hard for me to enjoy it. I covered it in parmesan cheese to finish it. Other than that, everything else was really good.
I went to Bar'Cino for Dine-out Boston and I was thoroughly impressed by the food. THE CRISPY DUCK WAS HEAVENLY. I practically licked the plate and the duck bones clean. The crispy, fatty duck paired with the fresh, acidic fennel and the creamy parsnip puree and sweet agrodolce was a masterpiece in my mouth. Would return for the duck and the roasted beets. They were overlaying the creamiest burrata cheese and the fat from the burrata complemented the acidity of the lemon dressing on the arugula and the sweetness of the beets. Such good flavor pairings. Masterful. The service was fine. The ambiance was nice and chill. It was a little chilly where I was seated. Must have been next to an air vent.

I have been here twice and both times were enjoyable. Not only is the food wonderful but staff are too. They have a wonderful outdoor area in the front with wonderful heaters for the colder months. They also have a private room downstairs for large groups. It is also right next to the T so it is very accessible! read more
Nice ambiance, solid Italian place. Pizza baked fresh and you can cut in any shape you like. Crispy cauliflowers were great! The pesto pasta (we added chicken) was also delicious. Good texture & generous portions! The service was wonderful & the ambiance is fitting for dates or a nice dinner with friends. read more
This place was so delicious!!! I came with some friends and we shared the calamari, mushroom pizza, and and paccheri pasta and everything was amazing!!! The pizza was grilled and came out with scissors to cut it and it was so flavorful! The pasta was my personal favorite, it was cooked perfectly and all the ingredients paired so well together! We also got glasses of sangria which I also loved, it was not too sweet and the perfect pairing for our meal. This is probably my favorite meal in Boston so far and I already can't wait to come back to try out more of their menu items! read more

Solid neighborhood Italian spot! Went here to celebrate my birthday for a group of 8 and was able to snag reservations a week in advance. The setup was great, placing us in a semi private area. To start, they gave us bread which was unfortunately not warm, but still delicious (any place that gives free bread is a win in my book). We got almost all the pasta entrees which were great and my personal favorite was the tagliatelle. If you're splitting a meal with someone they can put it on separate plates which is awesome. Whether you're coming for a date, girls night or birthday this place should definitely be on your list! read more

Great spot! Wide open floor plan with two TVs at the bar conveniently positioned in the center of the restaurant. The pizza is so tasty and fun. The T running by outside makes for a wicked 'Boston' experience ;) read more

Overall it was great and I would return again. The risotto was great- nice and light for summer. I also really liked my sangria, as well as the calamari and the prosciutto and goat cheese bruschetta. The only thing I did not like was that service felt a bit rushed; before we even got to start our appetizers, which came within 5-10 minutes of ordering, our food came out as well. read more

My friend and I came in here for dinner on a Saturday night. We booked a reservation online but did it a couple hours before so there was only bar seating available to reserve. Fortunately we had great service from the bartender! I ordered a glass of the Chianti and we decided to get the burrata appetizer. I wasn't sure how I'd like the combination of flavors (watermelon, chili oil, pepitas, etc). I was stunned by how good it was! Not only did the flavors mesh together well, but the burrata itself was probably the best I've had. For dinner I went outside of my usual go-tos and ordered the spaghetti alla nerano. It was AMAZING. My friend ordered the rigatoni bolognese and enjoyed hers but we definitely agreed that I got the better dish. I would highly recommend this dish if you like zucchini and a white sauce. read more
This restaurant was so good. The bruschetta was amazing. All of them were good but my fav was the beets. The kale Caesar salad was amazing as well. Light airy and delicious. The grilled salmon was served with some risotto I believe? It was absolutely delicious. Did not feel heavy at all. It was so good. The blueberry cheesecake was great as well. Very light not too rich and not too too sweet. The drinks were great. I had a dirty martini and the punta Cana cocktail. All good! read more
Tried Bar'Cino during Dine Out Boston. We got the braised meatballs, a foie gras pate, fennel sausage pizza, paparadelle duck ragout, mascarpone cheesecake and the gelato. The braised meatballs were good but nothing out of the ordinary. The foie gras pate was very interesting, there was a nice crunch from the onions but the presentation didn't make it look very appetizing, and almost flew off the plate when the server placed it down because it was so slippery. The pizza was decent, it was cool that you got to cut it but with no sauce and plenty of veggies, it didn't feel too much like a pizza. The paparadelle was probably the best dish but i wish it was a bit more saucy. The cheesecake was nice and airy and the gelato was tasty. Was a bit surprised that there was no bread. Overall the food was decent, maybe I need to come back and try their regular menu. read more

Came here on Valentine's Day, but wasn't super impressed. We had the fried cauliflower and the sauce was not my favorite and it was kinda plain otherwise. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was ok was not anything special, but it was a large portion. Our sever was also not the most friendly. The bottle of wine we had was very good though. read more
Great shared plates and meals. We especially enjoyed the salmon dish and the crispy cauliflower shared plate. The cocktail menu looked excellent - will have to return for that. The patio is a beautiful oasis on Beacon Street. Our server Emily was incredibly friendly and attentive. Oh and the salted caramel chocolate chunk gelato was to die for! This is a great spot for a semi-classy (but mostly casual) night out with friends! read more

We've gotten takeout from here before, but last night was our first time dining in and it was a delight! Ambience: Cool and modern-looking restaurant with unique art. It's a great place for both a nice date, or casual drinks and apps with friends. Prosciutto, goat cheese, and fig jam bruschetta: This was a great way to start the meal. With only four ingredients, this simple dish was a symphony of flavors. Each piece complimented each other so well. The goat cheese wasn't too strong, and the fig jam was a nice surprise in each bite. Braised beef short rib: The risotto wasn't anything to run home about, a bit bland and I added salt. However, the short rib was really juicy, flavorful, and fell apart easily with just a fork. Tagliatelle: My boyfriend got this. He said that he usually needs meat with his pasta, but this vegetarian-friendly dish knocks it out of the park. He also doesn't usually like mushrooms, but this tagliatelle is an exception. Really flavorful and definitely a reorder in the future. Tiramisu: Not overly sweet and the crunchy espresso/chocolate bits on top were unique and delicious. Overall, a great Italian restaurant in Brookline. We can't wait to return! read more

Meatballs were good because the polenta underneath was yummy and we got a bottle of wine. So didn't try cocktails. So that's why this review isn't a 1star. The arancini was blah flavor, almost like they were bought frozen and heated up. Sauce under was bland. Panini with side salad. It's basically a lettuce panini with barely anything else inside and then you get more lettuce as side salad.... Roasted chicken is staple and such an easy dish. I should've known it wouldn't be good when the menu and online menu had typo "lemon scented" chicken. Chicken was beyond dry with zero flavor. There was no time put into its preparation except over cooking it. Broccolini was overcooked with ultra burnt taste, roasted potatoes were overcooked with zero flavor and dry texture. Probably easiest side dish to make with flavor. I've never had a roasted chicken dish I didn't like. So I was shocked how horrible it was and it was ultra special evening that was ruined. The outside is super posh looking and the inside is really cute as well. Maybe they had new cooks who need more training but sadly we won't be back which is such a bummer. The manager was super nice and did comp the chicken dish. read more
I came here for Dine Out Boston 2021 and was really hopeful because of all the good reviews I read, but overall I was pretty underwhelmed. And maybe it was just the options that were offered but even the drinks and the service was just mediocre. For the appetizers we got the meatballs and baccala fritters. The baccala fritters were unique and tasty. They were fried nicely and had a good crunch. The meatballs were just meatballs. Good size but nothing to rave about. As for entrees I ordered the rigatoni bolognese pasta and it was cooked well but definitely nothing special. Granted, it's a pretty basic meal so I don't know what I was expecting, but for me it was just alright. My boyfriend ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, and same thing, it was just ok. We both got tiramisu for dessert and I've had some really good tiramisu before so I was interested to try this one...but again, underwhelming. It was good, but not the best I've ever had. One thing that I did enjoy however, was the outdoor patio. The ambiance and decor were super cute and perfect for a date night. I would probably come back just for the atmosphere and to try something else. There was nothing that was particularly bad or wrong about this place in my opinion, it's just nothing to write home about! But I think I'd still come back and give it another chance, just to enjoy their outdoor atmosphere again. read more

Came here for Valentine's Day and it was amazing!! Everything we ate and drank was sooo tasty. We originally ordered just the EVOO bruschetta + broccolini but loved the bruschetta so much we had to order another - which was even better. The bolognese was so yummy but I was so full from all the apps and bread I took most of it home for breakfast tomorrow :) My bf got the chicken milanese and it was perfect. The salad on the side w the beans was so good! We were obsessed w the little white beans! The truffles for dessert weren't anything to write home about but TBH we were so full it was just kinda an obligatory V-Day dessert. All the drinks were fantastic and surprising. The pepper one was my fave and the carrot juice one was my boyfriends fave. We are totally coming back!! read more

Bar 'Cino is my local favorite for a consistently satisfying meal (lunch/brunch and dinner), with a variety of delicious dishes to mix things up and share. This time, my dad and I shared three dishes for a hearty and nutritious lunch: 1. Poached tuna with white beans - great flavors. 2. Stuffed squash - wow, absolutely fantastic, a ten! The squash is tender and creamy, stuffed with sausage and cheese, topped with crispy kale and golden raisins. A must try! 3. Italian farro salad with roasted salmon - tried and true healthy favorite. This is a great place to gather for any meal, any time of year! read more

Never disappoints! Atmosphere - lovely Service - stellar Food - on point Definitely try the burrata. It's unique and tasty. Bronzino is bone in. It took a while to be served but worth it. Calamari was melt in your mouth. White anchovies is crazy tasty. Not fishy. A hint of vinegar taste. They also have a kids menu which is a big plus!! read more

Came to Bar 'Cino for Dine Out Boston 2021 and it didn't disappoint! There is a very cute outdoor seating area with string lights and plenty of heat lamps for the chilly weather at night/winter. The indoor seating was also spacious, comfortable, and I felt very well-distanced from the other customers. Very appropriate date spot with significant other or with friends given its moody lighting, not-so-loud music, and overall fantastic atmosphere. Plenty of street parking available, so no headache there! As for the appetizers, we ordered the baccala fritters and braised meatballs; for the entrees, we ate the rigatoni bolognese, lumache, and roasted mushrooms pizza; for dessert, we got the limoncello mascarpone cake and tiramisu. Everything was tasty and packed with flavor! Would definitely recommend their pizzas because they're pretty unique -- flatbread pizza with no tomato sauce that comes in an ununiform shape with scissors for you to cut yourself! The bolognese was pretty basic and nothing special (but I did appreciate the perfect al dente pasta), but the lumache was cooked in a fennel cream with shrimp cooked just right that was delicious! Food was extremely filling and we left very satisfied. Would definitely return -- excited to try other items on their menu and their cocktail list! read more
Really nice atmosphere at this Brookline restaurant. Staff was great, had a reservation and seated right away. Did get busy by 6:15 so reservations recommended. Had the short ribs with polenta and a glass of chianti. We shared the tiramisu- very large, couldn't finish it. Delicious all the way around. It cost us a bit over $100, so not a budget meal but worth a splurge! read more
Bar 'Cino is a great spot for a nice meal and some quality brews before a ballgame. The menu has plenty of vegetarian options, if you're into that sort of thing. And the flatbread pizzas come with a giant pair of shears for cutting. The novelty alone is worth a visit. read more

I went to Bar ' Cino in early December 2020 with a friend and sat on their outdoor patio/deck. I thought they did a great job with comfortable seating, a heating lamp, pretty lighting, and appropriate distance from other guests. We ordered the braised meatball share plate, which was very tender and tasty. We also split the Fennel Sausage Pizza which was very good! The pizza was flatbread-style with no tomato sauce and packed with flavor. Overall, the ambiance & delicious food makes Bar' Cino a warm and inviting place. I would highly recommend for a date spot, birthday spot, or girl's night out! If you are looking for outdoor seating, make sure you make a reservation and/or get there early because the patio is first come, first serve. read more
I came here for drinks with my coworkers and was happily surprised at the creative cocktail menu. It was very hard to choose what to get because they all sounded delicious. The bartender made some good recommendations, and I ended up trying the Pool Boy and the Pea Diddy (bonus points for the name on this one). Both were very well balanced and delivered on the flavors described in the menu. Service was good both at the bar and on the patio, and they were even willing to transfer our tab between the two without us having to ask. I would definitely come back! read more

Came here for dine out Boston! First I got the clam fritters. These were amazing. Nice crunch on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I got the bits of clams with each bite. Great flavor and the aioli was yummy too. Then I got the crab cavatelli. Good amount of crab in the dish! The corn was a nice fresh and sweet bite. The sauce was really good, I just wish I had a little more sauce to accompany the pasta. A little more on the bland side but it was still good. I would probably try the rigatoni bolognese next time! For dessert I got the budino. I'm not really a sweets girl so I wasn't crazy about this one. I had 2 bites and that's all I needed bc it was so decadent and thick! It was good tho, someone who loves sweets and chocolate would love this. Just not for me :) Good deal, everything all together was 33$ I'd come back for the fritters and maybe try the pizza too. Cute date spot also. read more
Bar'Cino (pronounced Bar Cheeno) is a really cute spot for Italian food! Came here for Sunday Brunch (around 1PM) and sat on the outside patio, although there is indoor seating during Covid. The space is very cute and picture-esque. As many of the restaurants in Boston, you are given a QR code where you scan to see the menu. I thought the menu was a little confusing, especially because I don't know Italian but the server did a great job helping up navigate and give recommendations. Apparently the Margarita Pizza and Bolognese are the most popular here! We ended up ordering the fennel sausage, sweet peppers, grilled onions, ricotta pizza $19 and the carnaroli risotto $19 (shrimp, lemon, snap peas, parmesan). The pizza was big enough to share among two people and had very unique flavors. The risotto was a bit watery and salty compared to the other restaurants I have had in the past but the seafood/shrimp flavor was very good! I was just disappointed by the overall price of everything on the menu given the serving size. The risotto was grossly overpriced for what you get and the pizza is more like a flatbread and very thin (and have on the smaller end of sausages compared to other pizza places) so it wasn't really the most economically friendly place to dine. Also, to speak to how thin the pizza is, they give you scissors to cut the Pizza with instead of the conventional pizza cutter. Overall, I really like the ambiance of this place though and feel like it's the perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon or Brunch with friends to catch up because the outdoor space/patio is beautiful. However, I can't see myself coming here too often as I feel like the price doesn't justify what you get & nothing really stood out as amazing to me. But if you are indecisive on what to order, opt for one of the pizza - it's so flakey, and chewy - I think this was my favorite of the bunch. read more

Came here for brunch on a Sunday, and we ordered the breakfast pizza and the mushroom + mozzarella omelet w/ salad. The breakfast pizza was one of the best I've had, and even took it home due to the large portion. The omelet and salad was mediocre, but was still very enjoyable. From reading other reviews, I'm not sure if we were supposed to get complimentary bread, but we didn't get any during our brunch stay. read more

I've been wanting to try this place since it opened, but kept delaying because of COVID. Was finally able to go for a dinner with friends. One big plus I like about this place is that they actually bring you bread and olive bread with your drinks while you wait for your food, so that you don't drink on an empty stomach. Our waiter was very friendly and eager to provide us with recommendations. I ended up ordering the tagliatelle al pesto and a glass of sangria, and was surprised to see how big the portion was. It was really tasty and full of well seasoned vegetables - and it made for enough leftovers for a whole separate meal. Would recommend, especially if you get a seat on their cozy patio. 3 stars because the food is fine, but nothing spectacular - it's not quite american italian, nor italian food. What makes this place is mostly the location, and atmosphere. read more
