Came here for happy hour with some friends, and the space is quite nice, but service was slow and unfortunately some of our items were charged for non-happy hour prices. I got a glass of their white wine, along with fries and the sliders. The sliders were delicious and good value, and the white was delicious as well. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of staffing given how busy the bar seemed.

Shocked to be the first one to review Bar 92 as they have been open for almost a year at this point. It's the first level bar for Gui Steakhouse. We happened upon it when wanting to leave the busy crowded Times Square for a cocktail bar. That ended up bringing us here for honestly our best meal and experience during our NYC trip. When you sit down at the bar the first thing that will catch your eyes is the absolute beautiful artwork that has the most amazing vibrant colors. It must have taken hundreds upon hundreds of hours to complete! Worth visiting to see it. Importantly after you see the art you will browse the cocktail menu which had a fantastic variety of complex drinks. Besides the cocktails they had a very full bar with lots of spirits options. The master behind crafting our drinks during our visit was Benny who could run a masterclass on customer service. Secondly also need to give credit to AP as he was working just as hard and was just as nice. Not only were the four cocktails he made us fantastic he also made a drink to pair with our dessert that was a drink I look forward to making. He had a great backstory for the creation of this drink. Benny made both my wife and I feel welcome and we had great conversations with him. He put in extra effort especially when making sure our dessert had a candle for my wife's Birthday. That little extra touch and fantastic service made a great experience into a top notch one. Food wise we were able to experience delicious offerings from Gui Steakhouse that I will review separately. Again big shoutout to Benny as well as AP for creating such a welcoming bar space with top notch service. A must visit in my mind!

Prime rib, dan dan noodles and wagyu sandos

We had some great drinks - wine, whisky and some cocktails. Our bartender, Larry, recommended the Seoul Garden cocktail and we loved it. We also had some prime rib, wagyu sandos and dan dan noodles, which were all delicious. The bar had some great music and it was a nice spot to hang out with some friends after work.

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. We tried 2 drinks: one inspired by Turkish figs and one inspired by lemons and the "Miracle Berry", which inverts your palate and turns sour into sweet! I really enjoyed both drinks. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. One the one hand I get it, on the other hand you've got two paying customers on a slow night.

Patent Pending is has such cool speakeasy vibes, think dimmed lighting and candles at each table in a very intimate space. Our plan was to get wine and a cheese board however, the kitchen was closed due to a family emergency. We could only order chips or bar nuts with our drinks. Disappointing but what can you do? We ordered both the chips and bar nuts to go along with our drinks. And instead of wine, I opted for a cocktail! They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu with all these crazy concoctions. I went for the Strange Magic which was citrusy and refreshing. I'll definitely be back to visit again and hopefully next time will get the cheese board :)

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

The well-crafted cocktails present thoughtful riffs on the classics, inventive without being showy. While the dim lighting and intimate atmosphere practically beg for a secret rendezvous (there's an ostrich involved), I met up with a friend for the decidedly unscandalous purpose of doing our intention setting for the year over libations and nibbles. I opted for a pastel sour while my companion asked for a drink called The Last Word - it was no longer on the menu but they obligingly made it for us anyway. The menu consists of mostly small plates and is seafood forward, but we shared a petite dish of steak frites, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Our server was very sweet but service was slow on the night, and by the time we received our utensils the food was cold. However we were not rushed and were able to linger a bit to finish our conversation. For those who savor finely concocted cocktails paired with fresh raw bar offerings in a salon-like setting, this is the spot for you.
