I've been very excited for this shop to open, but I found based on the vegetarian banh mi alone, it's okay. The bread is tasty and soft, but a little on the small side for $10. The tofu was a bit rubbery and didn't hold much flavor. The pickles were decent, but were the only thing adding moisture to the sandwich itself. The service was great though, the staff are friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. I really want to give this place 4 stars, but it just missed the mark. My daughter and I have been wanting to try this place out since they opened so we finally had the time to. I ordered the combo while she got the grilled pork. I asked mine to be lightly toasted, but unfortunately it wasn't. I think they just honestly forgot (I saw the request was printed on the ticket). The meat to bread ratio could use a bit of work. I felt there was more bread. And although I love pate, mine had a bit too much that it was oozing out after each bite. First couple of bites were great- but then it became overwhelming alongside the butter and unfortunately left my insides feeling...greasy? Lol! I had to keep wiping the excess off. My daughter said hers was mushy. She was disappointed the meat was so greasy and wished they used a paper towel or something to get the excess oil off before putting the sandwich together. We both ended up finishing our sandwiches since we were hungry. I don't think we'd go back for their bahn mi but you could see the love the owners put into that place. The interior was amazingly revamped, clean, and spacious for a tiny shop. Very friendly service. This Family ran business is so heartwarming and you can feel it in every bite you taste. Everything is prepared perfectly especially the fried rice. You taste every flavor in each bite. The service is amazing, warm, friendly almost as if you are eating with your own family. The main cashier even came up to us to explain how their rice is made! Finally got the chance to try this, it's close to my house so that is a plus. No complaints about the food, everything was fresh and satisfying. Seating was comfortable and restaurant had a nice atmosphere to it. Owner came out to chat with us and see how everything was. I like the fact they bake the bread fresh and it shows. This place looses a full star for the 3% cc fee, l find it very petty and it's offputting. 3.75 overall for the roasted pork bahn mi. Pate flavor is really good, stands out compared to the others in town. Roast pork was tender and they put a decent amount of it. I was a little disappointed by the bread. I reeeeally wanted to like it since they make their bread in house. came on first day of soft opening, all the staff was still trying to get the hang of things which i understand. At the time they were only serving the combo sandwich. In my opinion, the bread was good, it's a plus that it's freshly made but it honestly lacked some flavor. Not sure if it was just the days i came and ordered the combo sandwich but it really didn't taste like much.the picked veggies really helped. Came back two more times after, both times around 10:00-10:15 when they open. requested a grilled pork sandwich and they said it wouldn't be ready till 11 so i opted for the pork belly sandwich, which tasted ok. came back another day and asked for pho , they said it wouldn't be ready until 11. my thing is if you're gonna open the doors, everything should be ready to go. not sure if they need to come in earlier to finish prepping everything or open later so they have time to prep everything lol. i keep coming back because this is extremely close to my house and it's convenient to stop by right before work or class. other than that, the owners are extremely nice and attentive. the place is super cute, and they're drinks taste okay. ordered the guava iced tea one time, asked for it half sweet but it was soooo sweet. came back and tried the taro and i loved it. it's hard to find a good place that does good taro milk tea. read more

I don't understand all the mixed/bad reviews. The sandwich was amazing! The bread isn't too crunchy, the pate was yummy, and they didn't skimp out on their pate, meats, or veggies! We ordered a sandwich , pho and nem noung spring rolls ( pork spring ), the pho was pretty plain but did have a decent amount of meat but for $18 it should be a bigger portion. The pork spring was very good but the dipping sauce was disappointing because it is not usually serve with the traditional sweet fish sauce ; it should be served with pork orange/ yellow thick sauce. Sliced Pork Sandwich was good ; lacking some meat , bread was perfectly to my liking. Slightly crispy and soft. You can taste the freshness. Overall I think this is a nice clean place I would love to try them again. The owner was friendly and came out to check on everyone. Went with my significant other about 30 minutes before closing, and all staff were extremely welcoming and friendly even though they were closing soon. Ambiance is extremely warm and comfortable, you can study in here for hours. Owner is very nice and proud of his restaurant, bread is made fresh daily. We ordered a grilled pork sandwich and a BBQ Pork sandwich, it was extremely delicious and savory. Staff even brought water when we were sitting won without asking, amazing customer service. I ordered a tha tea and a strawberry refresher. I didn't even take a single sip of the Thai tea I ordered, but the staff came up to me and said they made a mistake and were going to make another Thai tea for me for free. I literally would never have known he made a mistake (didn't add sugar) if he hadn't of told me, but the fact he immediately went to remake another one free of charge without me even saying anything shows the commitment this restaurant has to uphold high customer service and shows they care spreading hospitality that you dont see often in Fresno. As a community we need to support local businesses first. Quit going to the Panda Express and the Starbucks and come here instead it's right across the street and you're supporting a local business that will always take care of you with good and warm food. Banh Mi Licious took us by surprise! It's really hidden but packs a punch with authentic flavors. We were greeted by Ethan at the front and he was super nice and welcoming! We were told that the restaurant is Vietnamese owned, and you can really tell. The pho broth was super flavorful and they did not skimp on the meat either! I have gone to this location before from a previous business, and the new occupants have done an amazing job in updating the place/location. I mean you'd need to travel a little bit to Fresno or a little bit more to enjoy Vietnamese food. You HAVE to acknowledge that. So, food alone, the bread is made in house for the sandwiches..., with the other Vietnamese restaurants they source them from other "bakeries" (I'm being respectful here so please know that! I'm not Giving up sources). Otherwise my reviews wouldn't be genuine. For a restaurant to make their own bread with the focus of their eatery being sandwiches... says a lot about their operations. Others buy their breads some where else, because they acknowledge their bread recipes ain't good or not as profitable for them to make. Their bread is Good for the purposes of Vietnamese sandwiches. Point blank. I'm so happy that there are other contenders coming into the area for Vietnamese food. But remember this is a sandwich focused shop. There is Pho and Bo kho and I'd rate them slightly above normal, but again your best orders would be sandwiches. The bread is light and airy. Lighter (less dense) than the French baguettes, but in the same style. The employees were very welcoming, so was the owner as well. As an avid Vietnamese consumer, I was allowed the pleasure of viewing their kitchen and some of their processes. Nothing less than exceptional execution. In addition to traveling western USA (~19 states) it's hard to find Vietnamese food in comparison to moms.... But I'm happy there's something new that gives all the Vietnamese restaurants a run for their money. If you do travel you should understand the best Vietnamese foods are moving out of the bigger cities for certain reasons. At this restaurant, I believe you can find the balance between quality and price. So if you are an avid VN sandwich eater, compare the quality and the freshness. This was our second time ordering here to go. The first time we ordered 3 sandwiches it was fresh and tasted okay and the combo pho-good amount but pricey and lack of pho flavors for sure. Our second experience, we ordered 4 sandwiches and 2 drinks and all the bread was chewy and stale as if it was old bread that has been sitting out for days. The top of the bread even looks like it was old bread. That was how I noticed it and when I took my first bite, I was right.
