Why did they have to change the noodles!? :(
Adrian P.

This has always been my go to spot because of how close it is to me and the girl is always in a happy friendly mood but they arent consistent anymore...one time they ran out of sprouts but they at least added veggies...so it actually made it better...but today they changed the noodles and shorted me the tripe....the noodles are now the thicker kind..they are still pretty good but not the noodles I like with pho. I also didnt get any utensils so glad i have chopsticks at home. It was a good run while it lasted but I will start going elsewhere.

Came by here for lunch the other day and it was outta this world good! Great service also! Thanks for a great meal!!!

Pho King special Filetmignon, Sirlion, brisket, tendon, beef rib and beef bone marrow

Pho King Good Broth! From the very first spoonful to the last, the flavor hit just right. I had the Pho King Special, and everything in the bowl was spot-on -- tender meat, rich bone marrow, clean and balanced broth, and super fresh herbs. Nothing greasy or heavy, just pure comfort in a bowl. The service was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed. The restaurant itself is spotless, bright, and welcoming. You can tell they care about both the food and the experience.

They made out order super quick. You can tell they use fresh ingredients because the herbs were crisp. I got a seafood pho and the seafood didn't taste fishy and had a great texture. The noodles were a little soft and broth lacked a little flavor, but still very good. Also, their Vietnamese coffee was strong and delicious.

The best veggie pho and fried shrimp! Clean and simple flavors. This is our favorite pho spot. Everything is delicious

Lemongrass Banh Mi sandwich.

Nice little place with pretty good customer service. Unfortunately, the food is decent at best. There are about 5 solid Vietnamese spots near our place in San Diego. This place needs to up their food game for sure. We got a good sized order to go. 3 pho's, a Bahn Mi, and some stir fried noodles. The lemongrass beef Banh Mi was a disappointing sandwich. The beef had a decent flavor but the veggies were weak. Normally, Banh Mi come with bold flavored pickled daikon and carrot. That gives a good compliment to any meat. This sandwich had a tiny amount, didn't even realize it was there. Lastly, it should be on a French baguette. It did seem to be a French bread thing but something just wasn't right. It seemed to be more like a hoggie bead or something. The pho Viet 101 Special and seafood pho were decent, nothing special. It comes with the broth separate from the rest so the noodles don't get soggy. The stir fry egg noodles with seafood didn't look great and the taste was just OK. Vietnamese coffee was delicious! To be honest, we probably won't be back. But it's a decent option.

3.5 stars but I'm holding off from giving them a 3. I want to give it another shot. Especially because the owner seems so nice. They have potential but a few things need to be changed... I'm so excited they brought sandwiches back. The owner doesn't speak English much so I couldn't really chat with him about it. But he did say the menu was new when I asked. The lemongrass beef had an authentic flavor according to hubs. However the bread was too dry. :( if they can get better bread maybe this would be a new staple. I'm on the mission to find my go to fresno Vietnamese sandwich that doesn't break the bank and still searching lol. The pho was good, soup wise. Meat was fine. Something about the noodles they used I didn't really like. It may have been because I got it to go so the noodles didn't cook the way I would've liked. They did package the to go bag very nicely and brought it outside to me and the restaurant looked super clean to my surprise. I can tell they've worked on it and there is new decor. It's next to Rare tea ;)

This place is delicious every time. I'm always impressed by the cleanness of this restaurant, the kindness of the staff, and the quality of the food. My friends and I arrived around 12 PM on a Sunday and were immediately helped and seated. The waiter was incredibly kind to us, the restaurant was clean, and was only about 1/3 full. The restaurant is on the smaller side, maybe about 50 people at most. I got the plate number 26, which was a sirloin steak soup bowl. The broth was delicious, not too salty, but rich and flavorful. The entire bowl was the perfect amount. The noodles are great, and the fresh basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and limes were were fresh and gave my soup the perfect extra boost of flavor. At the recommendation of the waiter, I also ordered the bone marrow. This was cooked perfectly! The marrow was soft and easy to pull out of the bone, and of course, had great flavor. All in all, this is just a great small business that produces a great and tasty soup. Totally worth a try.

The food is lousy and so is the service. Side of sauce is 2.00 and it's the smallest of sauce I have ever seen.

Located in the Barnyard shopping center this Vietnamese restaurant is a little dated, but don't let the decor deter you. The food is in incredible! I ordered a large bowl with thin sliced meat balls along with spring rolls for the table. First off, I should've gotten a small bowl of pho, the large bowls here are massive. I had plenty of leftover for the next day and the day after! The broth was delicious with deep rich flavors and the noodles were slightly al dente, which I loved. I couldn't help myself and active point picked up my bowl and just started sipping the broth. My wife ordered the same thing as I, minus the meatballs and she too, could not get over how much flavor the broth had, almost like they had been slow cooking this for the past three days straight. The spring rolls were 100% handmade and the filling inside was delicious. We did bring our kids with us and we're definitely nervous because they are very picky eaters. They do offer a kids menu, but there isn't much to it. It's basically rice broth and your choice of meat. We ordered my 4-year-old daughter a small bowl of rice with broth and chicken; she loved this and kept asking for more! My son (7) went big and ordered pho with squid... he inhaled everything! Even asking if we could order more squid on the side to which we did and he ate that as well. This was huge win for mom and dad, now we can do pho to the family dining out rotation. This is a family own restaurant and the staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. I love the peacefulness of the interior, the quick ordering process to receiving of food, and I love the flavor of the different broths I have tried. The reason for 3 stars: We have been here a few times, and were told by a server that seating was self-serve. We have practiced this each time coming in, but today after sitting at the only clean table(with some to be cleared off) a couple came over to the empty table and stared at us pretty weirdly before a server rushed over and told us to move because its for them. Not sure what happened before us coming in, but that energy was incredibly off putting. I hope we feel comfortable enough to come back.

One of the few to have an open bar as well. I ordered the 2nd option Pho on the menu along with an iced Vietnamese coffee which plus tip, came out to $36. Food: Their Pho broth is one of the best I've had. I've eaten at many places in the Bay Area and Orange County and this one wins hands down. Broth had the right amount of saltiness where I didn't need to add much. And you can actually taste the spices which I'm pretty huge on. Big flavor bomb indeed. Cons: My only knock is skimming on the noodles and meat. For $18, you do pay a little higher than most places. I'd definitely pay that for the quality alone but felt shorted. Customers are smart, they pick up on things all the time. I just wish this was improved and this place easily gets a 5 star. Definitely will be one of my new go to places for Pho in town!

This pho has a deep, rich, and flavorful broth, with a generous amount of meat. Our server encouraged us to melt some of the marrow into the broth, resulting in a silky and decadent soup. It is easily one of the best phos I've had in America, hands down. All of the staff is super friendly, and I never felt like I was waiting for too long to put in an order or get a refill. Ordered pork chop, hot tea and pho with marrow which I have already reviewed. Pork chop and sauce is a number two seller directly behind the pho. When I want a pork chop, I want it moist, and the fat crispy and salted and seasoned well. This hit every single mark! I normally care that I am in a restaurant and don't chew on bones. I did not have one care in the world and picked up my pork chop bone and chewed every single crispy morsel of caramelized goodness from that bone. The sauce that accompanies the pork, rice and egg was slightly sweet and was the perfect balance to dip rice and pork into! It was light and bright and enhanced the flavors not overpowering them. The egg. It is surprising how many places can't cook an egg where the yolks natural fatty goodness isn't overcooked. I busted the yolk and let it drip all over my rice mixing it in to give the perfect amount of salt and fat mixed with the swing pork and sauce! It was a perfectly delicate bite filled with different textures! I will definitely order this again! The hot tea is made with natural herbs in it and not a cheap paper tea bag like other places. It is very simple, mild tea that is easy on the tongue and the belly. I enjoy my pot of hot tea every time I come! Thanks again for a day filled with excellent customer service and phenomenal food! Will I return: I HAVE BEEN FIVE TIMES THIS MONTH ALONE!

But since we were dinning in I decided to try their Steak and Eggs with the bread. It was sooooooo good. The warm bread was crunchy on the outside and nice and soft in the inside. The eggs and meat came out on a sizzling try. There were two sunny side up eggs, thick cut of sweet/salty/tender marinated beef, small mushrooms, and pate on top. Paired with the bread this was a very comforting and delicious dish. The Nam Nuong rolls were good. Good portion of fillings and great crunchiness of the eggrolls wrappers and thick cut of the nam Nuong pork. I was only disappointed in the sauce. It was good but lacking depth of flavors. I think my expectation was it go be like the ones at Brodard's. And it wasn't. Located in the back corner, it can be a little hard to find parking if it gets busy but there is also the side parking lot. There was a wait list but we waited in line at the to go counter to ask to be seated. We were given our water and ordered. Once the food was dropped off we weren't checked up on again but this didn't bother us and you pay at the counter afterwards. The place had a lot of seatings with some seatings outside. There were tv playing Vietnamese food channels that was cool. I didn't get anything from their huge options of drinks and Che this time though. Looking forward to doing so next time. If you haven't tried this place, I would highly recommend their Vietnamese sandwiches with extra pate and butter.

My memory is shot. I don't want to be handing out 5 stars so easily but I think they deserve it. The restaurant is very clean, and I love the little Asian lanterns they have, all different, above each table. Plenty of seating. When we got there (a little after 5), there was only one other table occupied... by the time we left (6:30), every table was nearly taken. Our waitress, as well as the other on the floor, were both very welcoming and friendly. They handled the service remarkably as a team. The fact that they were a packed house and still were very attentive with us, checking how we're doing, checking on our water refills... these are the little things I appreciate most (and, of course, good food). I got the Pho with the Fatty Brisket, my friend got just the Steak Pho. They have a bar against the wall with all garnishes you may need to grab what you'd like. This is pretty smart... It saves them from waste. Instead of giving people items they may not use-- they would just grab what they'd like themselves. My friend grabbed her goodies, I prefer mine as is. To me, if your broth is good and doesn't require me to flavor it... I'll eat it just like that (unless I feel like adding spice). I've only ever been to a few other Pho places where I had to season up the broth myself...definite no no for them. All my friends who have gone out to eat Pho with me know I eat it just how I get it. Pho from my Mama is a different story though... I put the works (not because it's not flavorful) but, it's just different. Moving on... They also have a Teazona in their establishment. I've tried a few different drinks in the past but came to regularly deciding on the Tiramisu Milk Tea (no flan for me, light boba). Make sure to shake it well. You can also let them know your preference on the level of sweetness. We both got this tonight and it nearly tipped me over on the full scale. Couldn't finish it. Everything was really good though. Pho was the perfect choice for this weird, gloomy weather we've been having. The price is a bit up there but that seems to be the norm everywhere nowadays. But-- for the portion, the quality, and the service? Worth it.
