Met a friend for lunch today and decided to try something new. Usually I would pick up the sandwiches as to gos. But since we were dinning in I decided to try their Steak and Eggs with the bread. It was sooooooo good. The warm bread was crunchy on the outside and nice and soft in the inside. The eggs and meat came out on a sizzling try. There were two sunny side up eggs, thick cut of sweet/salty/tender marinated beef, small mushrooms, and pate on top. Paired with the bread this was a very comforting and delicious dish. The Nam Nuong rolls were good. Good portion of fillings and great crunchiness of the eggrolls wrappers and thick cut of the nam Nuong pork. I was only disappointed in the sauce. It was good but lacking depth of flavors. I think my expectation was it go be like the ones at Brodard's. And it wasn't. Located in the back corner, it can be a little hard to find parking if it gets busy but there is also the side parking lot. There was a wait list but we waited in line at the to go counter to ask to be seated. We were given our water and ordered. Once the food was dropped off we weren't checked up on again but this didn't bother us and you pay at the counter afterwards. The place had a lot of seatings with some seatings outside. There were tv playing Vietnamese food channels that was cool. I didn't get anything from their huge options of drinks and Che this time though. Looking forward to doing so next time. If you haven't tried this place, I would highly recommend their Vietnamese sandwiches with extra pate and butter. read more

We hit up Nho Kitchen around 2 p.m. this past Sunday. Even though it was sweltering outside, there was a long line out the door, always a good sign that a place is worth the wait! Once we got inside, we added our names to the list and were seated in about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad considering the lunch rush. The ordering process was a bit of a letdown, though. I wanted extra noodles on the side, but the menu doesn't clearly state that they just add the extra portion directly into your bowl. The staff was so busy that they didn't explain it well, which was a little frustrating and left me disappointed. For food, we ordered the Dac Biet (which was massive!), a small Pho Tai, and the Sizzling Steak (Bo Ne). Honestly, the rare steak in the pho was just okay, it didn't quite live up to the one I usually get at Pho Ha Noi in San Jose. However, the Bo Ne was the absolute star of the show. The meat was incredibly tender and well-marinated, and the baguette was served hot and perfectly crunchy. While the prices aren't exactly "cheap," they are reasonable for the quality. We came here for dinner on a weekday night , they were the only pho place that was open past 9pm . Nho kitchen is located in the back of the building . There was a line of people waiting outside . We put our name down and got called in about 15 min . The menu is small but the food comes out fast . We got the BBH and pho large size. The BBH comes with pork feet , beef rib , and pork blood but it was missing the side of shrimp paste on the side. The pho was a huge portion and very tasty . Came in on a random Tuesday night thinking I was about to have a chill, low key dinner, nah, the entire city of Fresno had the same idea. Place was packed packed. Honestly, that is usually a green flag, so I stayed committed. Put my name down, sat in the waiting area, four people ahead of me, easy money. Then I realized I chose the exact seat directly in front of what I can only describe as an industrial strength wind tunnel. There is a massive shop fan aimed precisely at the waiting area like management identified that 10 sq. ft. of space as the hottest place on earth. Meanwhile it is cold af outside, so now I am getting wind slapped while questioning my life choices. About 15 minutes later we get seated, not bad at all. Menu is not huge, but it is focused, which I respect. No 10 page novel, just solid options. I went with the P0, my fiance grabbed the B0, and I secured a Thai iced tea because I believe in balance. The meaty pho showed up looking like it pays rent on time. Broth was rich, layered, comforting, the kind of flavor that makes you sit up a little straighter. Meat was tender, noodles held their own. Not the best bowl I have ever had, but definitely in the upper tier. Now the beef rib. That thing did not just fall off the bone, it fell of harder than Ja Rule when Get Rich or Die Trying was released. The BBH looked just as serious, also came with a beef rib, portions were generous enough to make you reconsider your next meal. Thai tea was solid, sweet, refreshing, did exactly what it needed to do. Decor wise, there is a giant TV playing the news with no sound and no captions, so the entire time I am eating I am just nodding like I understand global events. At one point I am pretty sure I just made up what was happening. Overall, I would absolutely come back. Next time I am just bringing a jacket for that fan. This is one of my go-to pho spots because the menu has a wide variety of options, similar to what I'd find in the South Bay Area. The staff is attentive, though it can get busy and a bit overwhelming for them at times. The pho broth comes out piping hot, which is perfect for cooking the extra herbs and bean sprouts I like to add. The staff is friendly and happy to answer questions. 3.5 - The food is good here. Their soup broth is the best I've had. However, There's several factors that compel me to give it this 3.5 rating. Customer service is blah here. I've never been warmly greeted. None of the workers project friendliness. They're not rude. It's just blah lol everyone is treated like a number because it's always so busy and a packed house. The food portions are minimal. The egg rolls are $8 and you only get 3 little, skinny egg rolls. They taste great they just need to add one more and beef them up a bit. I tried the R12 rice plate: grilled shrimp, rice and stir fry veggie. I received tiny shrimps and small qty. it was just sautéed bok choy I was hoping for veggie medley of broccoli carrots. Etc , they need to be more detailed on the menu. One more thing regarding the menu- most restaurants indicate if a dish is spicy, either by adding a chili symbol or some kind of explanation. They don't have that here so I gotta ask the server whether it's spicy or not. Sometimes they have to go back to the kitchen to ask. It's a pain. Just let it be known on the menu. They have ton of drinks here, if you're into the sweet creamy teas and coffees you might like! The Viet coffee is strong and good but again portion is minimal for the price, the cup is all ice mainly. Please be aware of the lime and basil plate that was handed to us. I come here all the time, and this is the first time this has happened. I understand that some restaurants may try to save money by reusing limes and basil, but serving this to a customer is unacceptable. The lime looked like this when it arrived at our table. This is unacceptable. It is safe to say that I will not be returning anytime soon. Came in for the first time at this location. We got the pork belly bahn mi which I did not like at all. The pork belly was soggy and gross. Then we got the pork sausage spring rolls which were delicious and my friend got a side of meatballs that she also liked. One of the best pho spots in Fresno!! Literally soo delicious and perfect spot for lunch. We went on a Sunday and it was so packed- we had better luck as a table of 2 but big parties were left waiting for a while. We ordered the rare steak, brisket and tendon pho and the grilled pork and shrimp vermicelli bowl with an eggroll. The pho broth was clean and flavorful and the meats were soft. The vermicelli bowl was soo good!! Perfectly grilled shrimp (I liked the shrimp better than the pork) paired with veggies, pickled radish and carrot, noodles and fish sauce worked perfectly together. The only downside that the passionfruit tea- it was as though half the cup was syrup and I could not drink it. I had to put it in a pitcher at home and add water to it because it was insanely sweet. Stopped here while heading south with a large group, and the whole experience was terrible. Our food orders were mixed up and came out wrong. At one point, my daughter was already eating her rice plate when the waiter suddenly grabbed it, saying it was the wrong order, and passed the same plate (after it had already been touched) to another member of our group. We also ordered drinks at the kiosk. Our food came out, but when we asked about the drinks we ordered, the waiter had zero idea what we were talking about. I asked for one bowl, but he brought out three. I told him we didn't need three and that he could take two back since there was no room left on our table. He just said "keep it" and walked away. I ended up putting the extra bowls on a chair because there was no space on the table. The only good thing about the rice plate was the meat. The white rice was poorly cooked hard around the edges and mushy in the center. Dont waste your time and money here. read more

I ended up meeting up with them late and they were already seated and even ordered their food. What's crazy is that when I got there, I ordered bun bo hue and my order somehow came out first!! The timing of the food coming out was inconsistent. My bf was lowkey annoyed and pissed and was really wanting to tell them nvm and just take it back cus it took soooo damn long im not even making this up. After my food came out, the other three noodle soups came out for the others after like 25 mins.. My bf only had a lotus salad so not exactly sure why that took forever!! He ordered his the same time they ordered their soups. They tried to say they got the orders wrong or mixed up but doesn't make sense cus why I order last and my shit came out first. We were all almost done eating before my bfs salad FINALLY came out. It took over 25 mins for the three soups and what felt like another 30-40 mins for my bfs lotus salad to come out. The drinks came out first and my drink that I usually order didn't taste like how it should. It was very watered dow. So disappointed in this visit. So, the food is actually pretty good. My family and I come here for their pho, spring rolls, and I always order the bun rieu with egg noodles. The bun rieu broth is so flavorful with delicious lumps of those crab meatballs. I find the egg noodles just have the perfect bite with the broth. My biggest turn off with the place is the service. The older ladies who clean the tables are super sweet. The young servers majority of the time have gotten my orders messed up, food takes forever to arrive and they simply give off the attitude of wanting to be elsewhere but there. If you're a pho loving Cantonese, you'll love this place. The portions are big, the quality great. But what made this establishment stand out against a California that has the pho formula locked down is the particular flavor of the broth used here. The particular spices used are the same as the 腩河 you can get in HK... And if pho uses the same spices... Well, go to a run of the mill pho house, enjoy the basic beefy sweet broth there, then come back here, and you'll notice a big twang in the broth. It's not any cheaper than San Jose... Yes, I'm from the Bay Area; but this will not lose to South Bay, and will hands down beat most pho shops in SF. This restaurant has an extensive menu as well. Not just pho. Certainly more options than the average SF pho shop. See the menu for yourself. As for the missing star. Well, can't say I was a fan of the Bun cha ca... Being not the most common item to see on the average Vietnamese menu, this item probably suffered lack of business leading to unreliable quality. Speculation aside, my bowl came with tomatoes, fried fish cake, and home style fish paste. Looked fine, very home style, but did come off fishy. Fish paste was not as good as what my mom used to make. It was late at night. Maybe you'll have a better bowl if you visit early in the day, but I'd just get pho or something else on the menu. "But this is in Fresno!", you say. "I'm never in Fresno!", you say. "I'm not going to visit Fresno just for pho!", you say. Well, if you're driving between SoCal and the Bay or Sac, may I suggest taking the 99 instead of the 5? You'll have cities to stop at, and if you get hungry, you won't have to settle for In-N Out or shell out for Harrris Rannch. You can come here and get some awesome noodle soup. read more

BEST PHO IN FRESNO! I am Lao and Thai so you can trust this review. You can taste the quality in the broth and how the meat and bones have been simmering for hours. They do not just use broth paste, if YKYK and due to this, it comes out hot and fresh every time! Due to everything being fresh you may have a longer wait for your food to come out during dinner rush but it's worth it! I take everyone who's never had pho before and they become obsessed after. The ambience is a typical Asian owned restaurant and it gets very busy and lively during rush but that's when you know it's good.
