Also, I just wanted to give the waiter a hand of applause for handling the most awkward, almost racist conversation with the white folks sitting in the store lol. If I could give a 0 stars I would. My son who is sick wanted pho. Generally I only go here on occasion because the pho is not as good as other places around but proximity and time led me here. I go in, ask for a kids meatball pho to go, and the man tells me to get the full version. I said no I just need a kids meatball pho to go for my son. His English is bad but he told me no because my son wasn't with me. I was like are you serious? I just said fine I won't do business here and left but what terrible service. I mean worst case scenario he thought it was for me, who cares you still got paid. This was our first time trying this place out and we all loved the food, service, and the cute decoration and painting on one of the side walls. Our waitress Anne was super friendly and gave us great suggestions. We had the chicken Pho, and their number 25 which is pho with different types of meat, we also had fried calamari, spring rolls, fried rice, vermicelli with steak, and white rice with soup, rib, and egg roll. Overall a fantastic experience and we will definitely be coming back specially since we had people in our group that never had Vietnamese food and were happily satisfied. Was really enjoying this place but today, the food wasn't that good. We went at a later time than we usually do so I'm not sure if the cook is the same person for morning and dinner. We always order two Combination Pho and the Shrimp and Pork Spring rolls. Today, my wife wanted to try something different so she ordered a Vermicelli with Grill Chicken & Eggroll while I ordered my pho. My wife likes to add a bit of sriracha to her spring roll sauce so she put some in and noticed that the sriracha was a bit thicker than usual. She took a bite out of the spring roll and made a face. She stated that the sauce was extra salty today and was not good. She then ate a piece of her chicken from the vermicelli and that too was salty, the sauce for the dish was lacking flavor so she just had some of my pho. The pho itself did not taste like it usually do. The broth needed a bit more salt and was extra oily this time around. Usually they have fish sauce out on the tables but today, they didn't. I didn't want to get up and ask the waiter for some so I added in a little bit of soy sauce instead. The server was also a new face but was very polite. He didn't really come to check on the guest but I guess since he was the only one in the front, its understandable. read more

Pros: Pho broth is delicious. Savory and hits the spot just as it should. Greens provided are fresh and plentiful. Cons: "Due to Covid regulations," we were required to purchase size large pho only, no small sizes available. I don't understand how this relates to Covid safety and regulations at all but that's this restaurant's reasoning. - Their size large is ridiculously small. It might as well been a size small. You receive very small amount of noodles for the cost you pay. Having lived in the Clovis/Fresno area for most of my life, I can tell you that you can easily pay a fraction of the cost for more and equally/better pho at many other restaurants. Discovered this restaurant yesterday as I was getting gas. Decided to give it a try and called in for a pickup order later in the evening. For a Sunday evening, their hours were great, I was expecting them to be closed by the time I called but they were open until 9pm. Customer service over the phone was very friendly. I ordered a small beef noodle soup pho #30 sirloin, flank steak and brisket. It came with a baggie full of fresh basil, beans sprouts, and sliced jalapeños. Also came with a few packs of Sriracha sauce, hoisin sauce, and hot chili oil. I very much appreciated how they packaged everything to go. The broth was served in a big separate container. I still had about half a container of broth left after pouring over my bowl of noodles and meat which were in their own container. I added 2 packs hoisin sauce, half the basil, half the bean sprouts and all the jalapeños, plus a little bit of hot chili oil. The entire soup itself was delicious, very fresh and very clean. It tasted nice and fresh but I added a little salt which made it all the more enjoyable. The noodles were very soft. The broth tasted very clean and soothing. The meat had a nice meaty flavor and was incredibly tender, each piece of meat just melted in my mouth. I loved how soothing and fresh this soup was. The fresh basil & jalapeños really made the pho super enjoyable to me. Based on the few times I've had pho, it seems to me that you have to spice it up according to your own taste and that's fine by me. I loved the freshness and the flavor, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back for more without a doubt. I also order a Thai tea with boba. The Thai tea was refreshing alongside my soup, not too sweet and not too creamy. Although I like my Thai tea on the sweeter side, It still had a nice subtle flavor and wasn't too watery like some Thai teas I've had. My favorite part was the boba. The boba was very soft with that perfect boba flavor if you know what I mean. I haven't had boba that soft and tasty in a while. My husband ordered #49 combination fried rice. He really enjoyed his rice and ate the whole dish. I took a bite and it was very fresh and flavorful. My husband picked up the order and appreciated that everything was so well packaged to take home. Even his coke was separated from his cup of ice which was nice in his opinion. I'm no pho expert since I've only had pho 4 times now...however, I found this pho to be extremely delicious. If I could describe this restaurant in one word it would be FRESH! I just moved to the area and searching for restaurants came upon this gem. It has a nice dining area with that authentic Pho shop ambience. The man who took my order was pleasant. The bowl of pho came out very quickly, as par for any well established Pho restaurant. The noodles were perfect: not undecooked, not too soft, not too much. The meat was the highlight. I could tell from looking at the texture it was high quality meat. The broth is what makes the pho, and this one did not disappoint. I always love me some "PHO", especially beef pho. Went in on a Sunday for a pick up order for dinner (6 ish). Order 2 meatballs beef noodle, they only have 1 size, a bit expensive but hey the closest pho is either near old time Clovis or near Clovis community. I have not tried this place so decided to give it a try. Decor: Looks like every other Pho place you visit from LA, to Sacramento and in between. Typical setup, nothing special or fancy. Service: There was only 1 customer inside, so my order was already ready for me when I arrived there 10 mins later. Noddles: For to-go orders, noodles will always be glue together and dryer, it's not their fault, it is what it is. This happens at every Pho place if I order to-go. Price: It is pricier than what you would have paid if you were in Fresno. Serving Size: For a large, remember they only have 1 size, looks like a med to large but it is bigger than Pho 2006 and PhoEver. Broth: This is why I love Pho, unfortunately this place miss the mark by a long shot. Since I order a beef broth, the broth should be beefy, nice brown color but clear enough where I should be able to see the bottom of the soup spoon and not greasy. The broth did seem to have the color kinda right, but when you sip it, man it is no bueno. The broth has very little salt (I am on a low sodium diet, Huong Lan is too salty for me), no beef flavor, no pho spices can be smell coming out of the broth like other pho places, and very very oily. Me and the person I bought it for, both can't finish the soup, it is that bland and bad. Will I return: No, no and no way Jose. We came here because the other Pho restaurant ran out of Pho broth. Since it was a rainy day and cold this past Sunday, the 18th we checked the Yelp review and saw that Pho Viet 101 was a four star. I'm glad we came here because the ambiance was upscale and the service was friendly and efficient. Nice modern decor reminds me of some of the Pho restaurants in Orange County. Our dishes took some time to prepare but the food quality was worth the wait. My dish, Pho sirloin # 26 had great tasting broth and the meat was tender. The noodles, thai basil, bean sprouts along with jalapeños added to a great meal. My wife on the other hand said her dish, vermicelli with grilled chicken #b72 was okay.. the noodles were a little tough along with the chicken: under cooked noodles and overcooked chicken makes for a less appetizing experience. Looking for new places to try with my wife .. found this place decided to come.. walked in greeted and was sat in a booth.. ordered crispy chicken with fresh veggies and rice .. and ordered beef with veggie and vermicelli noodles.. Crispy chicken ...it comes on a plate with a side soup broth, veggies and house sauce. Chicken was very crispy and flaverful, moist and juicy on the inside. The soup broth is very good light, flavorful. The house sauce is very good when poured over rice and veggies i would recommend asking for extra Beef vermicelli noodles... the beef was soft not chewy. It comes with plenty of veggies and noodles with a side of house fish sauces. I asked for extra sauce poured it in and mixed it.. it was very good.. Shrimp egg rolls is very delicious. The inside is very clean and beautiful the wall was hand painted by one of the owner wife and sister.. it is a comfortable place and welcoming.. it just open and they are devoted to improving customer service and working out the kinks. I ordered takeout over the phone from Pho Viet 101 and the food was ready really quickly, which my impatient self greatly appreciated. I got the tofu spring rolls and veggie pho! The spring rolls were very tasty, and they generously gave a lot of pho broth and noodles. The fried tofu, noodles, and toppings were all delicious, but I would have liked more vegetables in addition to the couple carrots and large amount of broccoli. The vegetable broth was a bit bland, so I added a lot of seasoning along with the provided chili oil. Stopped by for lunch with a friend. We picked a booth and were greeted by a friendly employee right away. We had the chicken pho & shrimp/pork rolls which were great! Portions seemed small compared to other pho restaurants, but the flavors were terrific so that made up for it. Upon checking out, I tried to order a kid pho to-go, but was told they don't offer any of the kid items to-go which was a little disappointing. Got take out from here. We were visiting the area... (I'm used to pho being everywhere like little saigon.) We tried the grilled pork bahn mi and brisket and rare steak pho. Along with an iced coffee and limeade. The bahn mi's had good flavor... just wish the bread was softer it was kinda hard like harder than Lee's. Pho was good and the quantity was large. Drinks were ok. Limeade was good, but the coffee was sweeter than other vietamese coffee places. Knocked 1 star for the hard bread and the prices were a little steep for pho... since I'm used to pho being around $7 this bowl was $12 something. This used to be my go to spot for pho in all of Fresno and Clovis. Unfortunately they have completed out priced me. After multiple price increases and I am no longer willing to come out. Was craving some Viet vermicelli and chicken so I decided to give this place a run. Seems fairly new and they're doing their best. My first impression was that this place was clean and airy. They have an inviting interior and lots of sunlight coming in from the shopping center. In the future I'd consider eating inside. I ordered two vermicelli items: one w chicken and one with pork. They were both supposed to have egg roll but I only got it with one of them. Pork was good: I could taste some delicious grilling on the meat and that really made it good for me. I felt like I got less pork than chicken in the box, though. The chicken was kind of weird in texture like it was from a frozen or refrigerated chicken breast quickly heated up. Kind of bouncy or rubbery feeling. The flavor was pretty good though. Noodles on both were great: I'm not a noodle expert but they weren't bad in preparation and weren't cold from refrigeration. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes for the two items. A bit longer than I would have liked but not a disaster. They were apologetic about the wait, so I can't be that mad about it. All in all this place is worth another shot. There's so links to work out that I hope they resolve and the food was worth gambling for again.
