Will give this place another chance and try what's popular. Pad kee mao is decent but had zero veges - which is partly what make pad kee mao pad kee Mao. Was more like spicy chow fun. Actually exactly like spicy chow fun

Spring rolls, green curry with chicken , and pad see ew with beef

Needed something quick to grab some we ended up here. There is parking in the front but make sure you pull your car up all tje way because cars exit right behind your car and you dont wanna block the exit. Spring rolls- good and paired nicely with lettuce and mint. Green curry with chicken- wish i got it more spicy than medium. Chicken was tender and I enjoyed all the vegetables in there too. Pad see ew with beef - decent but not the best i had. Beef is pretty thin slices and id say most were tender. Broccoli was perfectly cooked. Definitely coming back for a quick tasty meal.

Late night dinner... After a long day at work I was thoughtfully given tickets to a craft fair which I absolutely love and was thinking of going though between parking and entry can be costly but thank you to Crystal R for the thoughtfulness as that made a huge difference and gosh really enjoyed my night for sure. After much retail therapy for myself we were hungry and it was pretty late for a spot to find that's not closed and not fast food and remembered Nu'uanu Shopping Plaza nearby but mores Bangkok Chef was just around the corner. Since it was just about half hour to closing there was plenty of parking that right in front of the restaurant that's usually filled it couldn't be any easier as this wide open concept is unique but just love the thought of a nice hot meal. I got the Pad Ki Mao which say "medium spicy" but love that it comes with bean sprouts, and fresh basil and how it came pipping hot and how wonderful it was...lots of seating inside along with lots of colorful art as the Moili'ili location is closed it's nice to have other locations to settle my cravings along with a nice hot meal. Thank you!

Located on Nuuanu St on the right side heading to kawananakoa intermediate school . They have a small shopping complex with a Laundry mat and Sam's Korean food and then Bangkok Chef they have a few stalls in front of the restaurant and a few behind the restaurant. 70 percent is take out, so if there is no parking you can wait for one it is pretty fast, because most call in their orders and pick up in about 15 mins. This is the original location that they started at and opened another location on Nimitz in the same parking lot as TANAKA's Saimin and Party Center. I tried their new location because of the limited parking at the Nuuanu location, but the taste of the food was not the same. I ordered the basil chicken which I enjoyed and normally get a side of chili pepper & fish sauce to spice it up more. It was really good and tasty. It came with a lot of shredded bamboo chicken & basil. My wife had the ginger chicken she said it was okay I liked the taste it had a hint of coconut and lots of fresh long beans. I also had the strawberry tapioca dessert and it was tasty and creamy with a nice flavor of strawberry. My wife had the coconut tapioca which I also liked even more than the strawberry, They have many different flavors to choose from. Restroom located in the restaurant, but you will need a key it is for men & women same restroom. Limited parking if you want take out called ahead, service is pretty fast.

I got the shrimp pad Thai and it was really good. Service was fast and the container it came in was reusable, which is a plus!

Nuuanu Bangkok Chef is easy to miss but is a great place to eat at (or take out). Their seating area is slightly to the side and has 8 tables and up to 24 seats. It isn't a closed door+AC style restaurant and is sort of a covered open area to the side. The only drawback to dine-in is that water cups are $0.35. The food we got is as follows: Mango Tapioca: 9/10. This was a recommended flavor (other being Okinawan Sweet Potato). It was refreshing and not too light on the taste. Pad See Ew (Pork): 10/10. This is probably my favorite dish from all Thai cuisine. The broccoli was not overcooked, the noodles were nice and soft, and the pork was nice and tender. Everything you could ever ask for! Spring Rolls: 9/10. Freshly prepared with mint, Romaine Lettuce, and the chili sauce. Great crisp and taste with 6 per order as well. Chicken Wings (Ala Carte): 8/10. I enjoy different chicken wings from different spots, and it's hard for me to ever go above 8* from Thai Style. Often, the chicken is cooked extra crispy (at the expense at slightly less juicy meat). This portion is actually surprisingly good (14 pcs!) and comes with cucumbers and chili sauce. Honestly, it's one of the better thai style chicken wings I've had, but it's hard to compete with a chicken specialty restaurant. There are several Bangkok Chef restaurants, and each has their own perks and preparations. I find that I usually enjoy this Nuuanu location more than the others.

When ordering, we were asked how we like the heat level and advised to order medium hot because it can be made hotter with chilies. That turned out to be the right recommendation for me. The panang had a nice amount of vegetables and nice heat but not too spicy. The pad see eu tofu was all right but for vegetarians I recommend the curry. I was honestly surprised when they took us back there to our seats because I didn't realize the space was that big. I ordered the beef pad see ew, and I'll be honest, I was a little sad when it came out because the portion felt pretty small for $18. The other dishes seemed like they were a lot larger. I also split the crab omelet, which was good! I tried the Evil Curry too. It wasn't extremely spicy, but it definitely had enough of a kick that I don't think I could eat the whole thing in one sitting. They also have free karaoke in the main room for anyone interested, which is a fun addition! Overall, I gave this place a 4 because the people were nice, and I liked that you could choose between the cute garden patio or the karaoke area. The food was decent. Nothing amazing for me, but still good overall. I will say, if you're specifically looking for pad see ew, my favorite is still King of Thai Boat Noodles!

We warmed up a little with the medium spice level papaya salad...and they don't mess around with their spices here. Thai spice is way more of an intense, painful heat than Korean chili peppers (in my opinion!). This dish even made my spice tolerant friend sweat a little but couldn't stop eating because everything was packed with flavor. Service was fast - I would definitely come back here (and maybe bring a jacket). At least I know the AC works here!

My partner fell in LOVE with this place so we stopped sampling what's around and kept returning here. You cannot beat the space. This is the old Garlic Ninikuya location, the converted house on Waialae across from Times and Longs, that has the tree planted in the middle of the house. Seating is outside or inside, but we prefer outside. It gives oasis, even though you're right on a busy street, you feel like you've been transported someplace exotic as the tree and plants are accented with an. eclectic East Asian decor. The food is generous, although some of the plating can read pedestrian. We always get the Panang curry and try a different curry or dish along with it. The pricing is a dollar or two under most of the Thai restaurants around. Have I had better Thai food? Sure. But for an overall experience I so much prefer the serene setting here, as well as hearty portions, kind service, BYOB option, and supporting an independently run Kaimuki eatery. The food is good, I'd give it a 4. The atmosphere is a 5. Definitely do dine in. Fun as a pair or with a group.
