First time visiting and I gotta say, this place is delicious! Aunty had on the traditional attire and was kind as can be. Summer rolls were wrapped pretty with peanut sauce as the dip. Fried chicken app was amazing, nice and crispy, fried just enough. Fried rice was nicely seasoned, tossed beautifully in the wok, with big pieces of egg and onions, with chicken as our choice of protein. Cucumber on the side for a nice crunch. What really stole the show here, was their papaya salad. We always order it Lao style, with extra funk and medium spicy which this place does very well. For non spice eaters, they are tame with their spices here. With the right amount of cabbage, and lettuce for dipping and wrapping. Prices are par with other Thai shops, you can even find Lao classics on the menu. Nice and clean, delicious Thai tea, and easy parking. Will definitely return.

Came here on a whim after visiting the pet store. Walked around the plaza to see what the options were and noticed that they had Thai Village here. I frequent the Waimalu location so figured, let's get our Thai fix. We were in the area around 1pm and it was surprisingly dead. There was no one in the small parking lot and no one eating inside. Better for us as we were starving. My friends & I all ordered a dish each to share. We got Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, and Thai fried rice. Everything was as tasty as their Waimalu location. Service was nice and the portions are huge! Definitely come on a week day afternoon because normally this plaza fills up quickly.

[Disclaimer] This review is only for their Thai Ice Coffee. The right amount of sweetness in the coffee. The half & half adds the creaminess/richness. The service was friendly and nice. The place is nicely decorated and can accommodate 2 large parties, but mostly parties of less than four.

Popped in on a whim for lunch and was seated quickly. Menu has all the Thai selections you may be hungry for. Portions are decent, prices are the usual but a good meal can add up to a good amount. Lots of seating available. Ample parking.

Came during lunch and wasn't too busy. Got seated right away. Curry, pad thai & Lao sausage with jasmine rice. It was so good! The pad thai was nicely flavored. Not dry at all. The Lao sausage was so yummy. It compliments the curry so much. So good. The customer service here is great! They really check on you and make sure you are helped. I'd definitely come back here for Thai food.

Love this place! Lots of parking! Good food with good service too! Got their stuffed chicken wings, yellow curry with beef and sticky rice, chicken eggplant stir fry and seafood fried rice. Everything was so delish!

I've passed by Thai Village numerous times, yet never knew of its existence! Mahalo to my dear friend Terry K. for hosting a get-together over Thai food and fellowship! The restaurant is on the smaller end as we took up two large tables. Unassuming on the outside. There's also seating for smaller parties as well. Minimal Thai-inspired decor, a casual atmosphere, and our food constantly flowed out and water was refilled by the worker. She wonderfully orchestrated the dinner, choosing for us the dishes. We ate family style enjoying various appetizers and entrees such as curries, noodles, and Lao sausage. I enjoyed the Fish Cake and Yellow Curry. I enjoyed the filling meal at Thai Village but not as much as the time I spent reuniting with Yelpers! Mahalo for the food, Terry K., and for all the thoughtful goodies! A hui hou!

Another dynamite UYE with fabulous friends! Huge gratitude to staff at this location, Terry K for being a gracious host and sharing delectable goodies from Ikeda's in CA. Thank you Li Y & Kyra K for sharing fresh and yummy Purve Donuts, Donna O for tic tacs, Peter Y for picker upper beverage packets, Iris T and Jackie K for various treats. Amazing to catch up on life, places to eat, travels, meaning of family crest with Kyra K and her dad. Finally get to meet and chat IRL with Jackie K. Such a blessing to catch up with our former and long time Yelp CM, Emi H. Spring Rolls: Yummy and crispy when served hot and fresh. Fish Patties: Mild, flavorful, tender, easy to consume and pull apart. Tasty. Fried Chicken: One of my fave apps for tender, boneless chicken with crispy, crunchy batter. There were absolutely no leftovers after everyone got their piece. Even Peter C mentioned could go for another round of chicken. Laos Sausage: One of our faves too. Raves, oooh and ah ha moments that's packed with bursting flavors and followed up with a spicy kick. Tasty when consumed alone, dipped with accompanying sauce, goes well with sticky rice, rice, fried rice, and so forth. The sky is the limit. Yellow Curry with Chicken: Mild and served with a side order of rice. Curry integrated well and soaked in a bed of rice. Peter Y inquired, "Did you eat all your curry with chopsticks?" My response, "Yes. I did." Without even realizing it, I'm supposed to use my spoon and fork as the people do in Thailand. Pad Thai with Beef: Flavorful, yet noodles were a little overcooked, appeared shorter. Prefer longer noodles. Oyster Sauce Veggie with Seafood: Made fresh and delicious. Long table of 12 and another table with 8. Restrooms are located outside and need a key to enter. Inquire with restaurant staff. Thank you everyone for the great conversations! Till next time.

Aloha Kyra! Thank you Terry for a great reason to gather creating this UYE as we're excited to hear that Kyra who moved to Cali from Hawai'i returned for a visit with her Dad along with planning this event here at Thai Village which was done so as City Square has a lot of parking for the group so that we don't have issues upon arrival. With that this restaurant is a bit cozy though accommodated the group that had to be divided with a couple of tables and as everyone started to trickle in some I've rarely if any have seen in awhile was so nice to see. Menu was also arranged...starting with Spring Rolls, Fish Patties, Fried Chicken, Laos Style Sausage, Yellow Curry with Chicken, Pad Thai with Beef and Oyster Sauce Vegetables with Shrimp...love the menu item choices as it took the decision away especially after a long work week my mindset is so thankful. The spring rolls aren't as crunch as I love it to be but is very flavorful wrapped with some lettuce as it didn't need any sauce, the fish patties scared me not knowing what's in it so I stayed away from it though many around me did enjoy them...fried chicken simply yummy so crispy yet tender is one that I could have again and again, Laos Style Sausage was a lovely surprise that was filled with spices and a touch of heat we were saying how this would be yummy broken up into fried rice lol! Yellow Curry with chicken was a delightful mellow dish that just was so comforting though they brought out a bowl of rice preferred it with the sticky rice we had. Pad Thai with Beef is the classic that I love and is the dish I must have at any Thai restaurant which was yummy and full of flavor not the dry more of a wet pad Thai but the noodles was a bit broken making it hard to eat and lacked the egg that I love, the Oyster Sauce Vegetables with Shrimp sadly I couldn't have with my allergies but what a lovely dinner course that everyone seemed to have enjoyed. Thank you Terry for arranging it all, Li for the Purve Donuts, Donna for the cutest lil Tic tacs, Peter I love the drink packs and Jackie for the treats. A lovely night and meeting new peeps made it a night to remember. Thank you!

Mahalo Terry K for introducing me to this little gem as part of a little gathering for Kyra K during her visit! Our set menu included fried egg rolls, fish cakes, fried chicken, chicken curry and Lao sausage, which I found a little dry. Loved everything else - tasty little egg rolls came with Romaine lettuce leaves and sliced cucumbers, fish cakes were piquant bites, Pad Thai was not sweet (so many places here make their Pad Thai too sweet), curry chicken wasn't spicy (I'm a weakling when it comes to spice), and my favorite was the fried chicken - perfectly crisped and tender inside! Parking is at a premium during peak dining hours due to the popular dining spots in this shopping center, just be patient and one will open up!

Since we had to go to the kalihi area we decided to try Thai village in City Square next to Sugoi and Utage restaurants. I had their spring rolls and my husband loves curry he ordered their pineapple curry with pork. The spring rolls were tasty inside but because I think they use the rice paper wrap instead of lumpia wrap, and when it's being fried the ends got chewy. The lumpia wrap when frying its crispy all the way around. The pineapple curry to me have a kick at the end in the back of the throat. I couldn't eat to much of it I'm not into spicy foods. My husband said was good. Will try their noodles next time

I've passed this restaurant many times on the way to Sugois, Utage, or Youngs. Today was the day I finally went in. My wife and I were pleasantly greeted and shown to a table. For being a single person working the floor, she was extremely attentive. Seating was comfortable and well spaced. They have a seven page menu. I didn't really look at all the selections. Pineapple Curry is what I wanted. My wife ordered the Spring Rolls. On this occasion, I decided to have my curry with pork. The spice level did have a slight kick. The pork was tender. Overall, I would order it again. I took a spring roll from my wife's plate to try. It had a crispy shell, but oily inside and out. Too bad because the flavor was there. Enjoy

Their restaurant is so cool tho. Upon walking in, you sign in if needed, wait to be seated. As you walk in, there's a pretty decor, I would say photo opp, but there's a table and stuff blocking. They should clear that area, so people can take pictures with it lol but when you get seated, you walk through, and they take you to the back for outdoor seating. There is no indoor seating. They have the commercial tents, and pretty outdoor decor out there too, like lights and stuff. And there's a koi pond. Bathroom is back there. The only sucky part is if it was to rain hard or have strong winds, I wonder how they deal with that. But make sure you go when it's nice weather. It's BYOB!! They have a good amount of seating too. Our go to for Olay's is the Lao style papaya salad. We eat it with chicharon, and I think they have option to order a side chicharon, but we were prepared and went store before heading over to buy bag chicharon and they allowed it for us instead of spending the same amount for a handful, you get more when you BYOBC - bring your own bag chicharon lol I just made that up. If it's BYOB, I'm sure they'll allow it. We eat that with sticky rice. Omg so bomb. I like to get the stuffed chicken wings, we ordered the calamari. Was good. We got yellow chicken curry. The wife wanted to try the beef jerky, she likes it. We take the sticky rice and roll it in to a ball, and dip it in the bagooong papaya salad sauce and even the curry. Eat it with the papaya salad and stuffed chicken!! Omg so good! One thing I forgot to mention, they are located in the heart of Chinatown, on hotel street, so you gotta find parking. Street parking or pay for public parking. Would we come here again, definitely! 10/10 recommend. Check out Olay's for your Lao food fix!

The beef was tender, and the heat level was just right (spicy but still balanced). So good over rice. The chicken panang curry was rich, creamy, and comforting. The curry sauce had that slightly sweet, nutty depth with just the right amount of spice. The chicken was tender, and the sauce was honestly spoon-worthy. We also ordered the summer rolls, which were fresh and light -- packed with crisp veggies and herbs. Dipped in peanut sauce, they were the perfect refreshing starter before the richer dishes. And Peter was a great waiter -- friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. Service definitely elevated the experience. Everything tasted fresh and well-executed. This, however, will probably be my first and last visit. The place is cute enough, with a large back garden area where I chose to dine. Service was also great. I appreciate the little button at the table that I could click for service. The food, however, was mediocre at best. My friend and I ordered the pad Thai with tofu, ginger chicken, chicken satay, and pork larb. The pad Thai was the best dish, but it was very tomatoey, which I did not expect. The chicken with ginger had very little chicken. It was mostly julienned vegetables, including celery which I do not care for. The chicken satay was kinda dry and most certainly needed the peanut sauce to make it palatable. The larb was very dry with very bland flavor, served on one lettuce leaf and a wedge of cabbage. How am I supposed to eat that? All of it was quite disappointing, especially for the price point. As I was eating this meal I remembered the Thai food truck at the end of Ward, where Fisherman's Pier used to be. Now THAT was some good Thai food. I guess that was the best thing about this meal-remembering where I could get really good Thai food-so that the next time I'm having a craving, I can go back over there...I hope it's still there.

I don't think I need to say anymore.... ....but I will. The restaurant, for being hidden, was HOPPING. Every table was full and people waiting. I had a glass of Cabernet, it was actually good. My husband got the drunken noodles, 10 out of 10.

Be careful about double tipping here. We caught it right away and asked about it, and she said she had already included a tip in the total, without ever asking us. We never told her how much we wanted to tip, so it felt pretty shady that she just added one on her own and then still gave us the option to tip again. If we hadn't been paying attention and just tapped a tip option, we would've ended up overpaying. What's weird is that we had eaten here just a couple days earlier and everything was normal. The total matched, and we tipped on our own. No one added anything extra without asking. If this had been our first time, we probably would've assumed gratuity was automatically included and not thought twice about it. When we brought that up, the waitress suddenly acted like she didn't understand us, even though she had been communicating perfectly fine before. She walked away and got another staff member, who told us tipping is optional and then in a rude tone, asked, "So what do you want to do?" We still tipped in the end because we know service jobs aren't easy, but the whole situation just felt icky. Like how could you try to scam your own customers? Definitely left a bad impression, and it looks like others have had similar experiences if you look at the 1& 2 stars reviews. Makes me wonder how many people this has happened to without knowing.
