Tiger Tear Beef

Bangkok Boulevard is my go to lunch spot! I always order the Tiger Tear Beef or Peanut Chicken. Staff is always so friendly and welcoming. If you like Bubble Tea, they have great flavors!

Nice little spot, super cute and cozy on the inside, nice ambiance too. Our server was amazing, so kind and very attentive! She was super sweet and helpful too. Something I didn't get a picture of was their jasmine tea, it was so good. It was sooo herby and very floral and sweet with a great bitter tea flavor, I'd go there just for their hot tea...BUT! Everything else we had was also amazing. (Especially the pho. It was so flavorful). Please come by, this place rocks.

Went to dinner here and found it so delicious. The employees were very kind and helpful when we had a question and provided good service. The food was delicious and I definitely want to come back again. 4.2/5!

I came here with a friend and the restaurant was completely empty, save for a few take out orders they were placing in the front for pickup. The dine in experience was a bit odd, the person who helped us was a bit brusque considering the emptiness of the place but allowed us to choose our seats and brought us our menus. Mistake number one, was brought ice water which I asked for without the ice, server was annoyed but did as I requested. Mistake number two was asking about vegan options, exchange went like this: "What to you want to order?" "What vegetarian items do you recommend that I can get without fish or egg?" *frown* "What do you want to order?" "I will need another minute please" *walks away* I asked about the avocado rolls and they were sold out, so I got the fried tofu and spicy basil fried rice without egg and fish sauce, and specified my allergy which was received well. Order was confirmed and brought out promptly. My friend got the dumplings and the shrimp fried rice and enjoyed her meal. The fried tofu was soft tofu which, while not my favorite, was ok. The peanut sauce was a bit congealed and I would skip it. The fried rice was fine and didn't have fish sauce, but was extremely oily. Presentation was a little too cutesy for me but appreciated the attention to detail. They were attentive and filled the water frequently which was nice but at this point I just wanted to eat and leave. I checked in thinking maybe I could use the discount but decided against it as I didn't want to annoy the staff anymore than I already had. Overall this place is fine, it's a middle of the road Thai restaurant that is decently priced. I would probably not dine in again (service was really weird), but for takeout it would serve to scratch the Thai itch if you are in Hamden. If you are vegan, a good rule of thumb is to stick with rice dishes and skip curries as they are pre made with shrimp and you can't get that removed. When in doubt don't rely on the staff just pick what you want and they will make it happen, or not.

To be honest, I didn't have the highest expectations of this place. We looked on Grubhub for pho and this place came up. My wife and I went with no additional searching; if we did we'd have seen this is a Thai place and not a Vietnamese spot, so pho isn't their speciality. Parking was easy (additional spots in the back) but the restaurant had a B rating on cleanliness. I almost turned back but I'm so glad I didn't because everything was sooooo good! First, the place was clean and the decor really nice. There was one server who was straight hustling but he was very attentive and the service fairly prompt. The food though, was phenomenal. The garlic rice? BOMB! How they made just rice so tasty I have no idea but it was delicious. The spring rolls were piping hot and crisp and delicious. My pho was surprisingly good too; the broth had a different flavor than I'm used to with pho but it was rich and so good! I didn't even need the grilled steak, it was that good! We'd def come again! There was a very loud family but I was assured it isn't usually that loud in there, ha! Try this spot!!!

Let's talk about Pad Thai. I ordered mine with just veggies. The vegetables looked pretty sad, like possibly from a frozen bag blend but ok, the rest of it looked interesting. This was the sweetest PT I have ever had. Which makes it weird because I wasn't expecting sweet to be the only thing hitting my tastebuds but here I am. The wilty, overcooked veggies in a veggie PT are killing me. There are fresh bean sprouts present though. It would have been a three star review but the spring rolls saved it. They taste like typical spring rolls but were not even a little greasy. Like, not even a little. It was pure sorcery. Pics of my Sad Thai and spring rolls for your own judgement. The photo displays one less spring roll because I have zero self control. Whoops. The gentleman who pointed us towards where the orders were was very pleasant. The us being myself and a gentleman picking up for Door Dash. Pandemic precautions are taken here - pick up orders are separated out on tables according to whichever platform you used to place your order. The bags are stapled closed with the order ticket stapled to the outside to differentiate who's is whoms. There were not any take out utensils in the bag, and no where that I saw when I was placing my order online to indicate that any were needed. The would be a big disappointment if I had picked this up on my way to work so just be mindful of this if you are picking up and not going to eat it at home or anywhere where you have a pre existing fork.

We ordered a bunch of different things for delivery and they were delivered hot and on time. I got the Spring Rolls which were crispy but not greasy. I also got the Drunken Noodles with Tofu Medium Spicy which had just the right about of spicy and the tofu was just the right level of firm. All others in my party also said their food was delicious as well.

Brown Sauce

Great service, great ambiance, and great food! I got the brown sauce with chicken and white rice. It was so tasteful and the perfect amount of food. They even shaped the rice into a heart! I will be going back again to try more of their dishes!

Chicken and Rice soup. No flavor to it. 3 balls of chicken. I will pass on getting this item again.

Went for takeout today for lunch today. A little pricey for $28.00 bucks. Overall the food was good and I will go again but not too often.

Perfect date place! Wasn't too crowded. Nice atmosphere. Food was good! Service was great! We eat with our eyes, so it was Nice to see a place that takes pride in their plate presentation. Sometimes places garnish their food to make up for something lacking in their food, but that was not the case here. Everything was delish! This may have to be my new "first date" place!

It was good. Just as good as rice pot which is one of my fave places for pad Thai and the avocado rolls was huge and hearty which I loved except the avocado isn't as much as I thought. The young waitress is a doll. Very attentive and sweet.

Shhh, don't tell anyone!…read more But also tell everyone you know! Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

Hopefully they're doing a big takeout business because we were the only ones inside for dinner. Granted it was 8:30pm, but they are open until midnight. They were accommodating by turning the heat up on this chilly night. They also put on current Thai music for us after we asked about the American music being played. They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!

The location in in between two pizza places on the North Haven side of Rt 5 in Wallingford. It's our go-to take out place. Recently we dined in and it was even better. Their tom kha is so flavorful. The green curry beef noodle dish was huge and delicious with the right amount of spice. Unassuming simplicity inside with more take-away orders than diners, it seemed. But dining area was nice. I've dined here years ago and it was different. I imagine they changed owners or renovated in some way, because it's extra good.

Food- spring rolls are always good. However, I will say my go to is generally the pad Thai. Sometimes it is spot on and other times it almost tastes like there are different cooks, and it where it tastes like it came from a wok that is too hot/singed flavor and the right flavors just aren't there. I did notice they changed to more biodegrading to go products which is nice though! My family member got the Massaman Currt and reported it was not as good as usual, this time around it was very soupy with minimal spice. I've never eaten inside but this looks like a small hole in the wall spot from the outside , it is very quaint. Overall, return out of convenience when visiting the area from time to time but wish there were more consistency with when those dishes have been closer to their best!

At the time, I found the ramen competent and the interior pristine, spacious, and modern. Returning for a second visit, I'm happy to report they have withstood the test of time, maintaining high standards for both food quality and cleanliness. To provide context: when Roishi first opened, it felt like ramen shops were everywhere. Fast-forward a few years, fewer shops remain, and unfortunately, many of those survivors just don't stand out to me. The mid-range sushi scene has proven equally unimpressive. Aside from high-end establishments like Hachiroku Handroll Bar, or the outstanding Gohan in Southington, most mid-range joints disappoint with mediocre quality and a lack of creativity. Many may start off strong in quality, like Niu Sushi in East Haven or Sayori in Orange, but eventually their standards slip over time. In the current food scene in Connecticut, finding a restaurant that excels at both ramen and sushi is a rarity. While I enjoy the Spicy Miso at Akatsuki in Hamden, their sushi remains lackluster. Conversely, from what I recall when they initially opened, the sushi at Takumi in Branford impressed me, but their ramen has disappointed. This is where Roishi shines. Perhaps my previous disappointments at other establishments have made me quick to judge, or maybe I simply caught Roishi on an exceptionally good day. Regardless, our last experience at Roishi has won me over, and it has officially become (for now) my go-to for a satisfying bowl of ramen paired with fresh, creative sushi rolls. It is clear the sushi chefs put effort into curating their menu and making their rolls look visually appealing. Our server was pleasant, professional and attentive without being overbearing. While the menu would benefit from rotating specials featuring higher grade ingredients, the restaurant's ability to maintain standards and consistency is a rarity, and is the primary reason I will continue to return as long as they continue to do so!
