Decent location the atmosphere is ok. Large space with tables really close. Really interesting different options for food choices. 4 of us met for lunch and all were very happy. Fajitas, enchiladas, mushroom tacos were all well liked. The soup was excellent but just lukewarm. Would have been really great if it was hot. Drinks were excellent. We all tried different cocktails from the menu. Looking forward to my next visit!

The restaurant is very beautiful and the food is insta presentation worthy. However, if you're expecting your food to taste like it looks good elsewhere. We ordered guac, tamalitos and chicharrones for appetizers. The guac was like they took the pico and mixed with a little bit of avocado. The corn tamales we requested cheese, we received chicken but decided to try. The meat was rubbery and the masa was flavorless. The chicharrones were ok. For dinner we got tacos, flautas and enchiladas. The enchiladas seemed to have mole sauce not enchilada sauce on them beware also quite spicy. The rest of the food was meh. For dessert we tried the churros which were good minus the side sauces. Why did they have milk? Makes no sense!! The house margarita was weak and the coconut mojito. Seemed to not have alcohol specially at $15 we didn't get a second round. Our tab was $160. So definitely not worth it. Service was slow and requests were missed during food order. Not planning on returning.

Chips and salsa provided when you sit down.

This place just opened but it won't be a secret for very long. Delicious food that was served efficiently and with a smile. The staff are very inviting and easy to talk to. Also it's an intimate setting so not too loud or bright.

Cracked tortillas, both of them. And cold bland sides with mostly vegetables vs protein (chicken).

Ok so, I wasn't even going to leave a review, but then I had to. It was our first time here, so we didn't know what to expect, all we knew was that this place was "new". So upon entering, there was not really much of a wait. I stood before this younger male worker, at the hostess sand wiping menus and completely had no clue that I was standing in front of him just wanting to request a table for two. It was just my mother and I. I don't know if he just didn't see me or was just completely checked out... spaced out more like it. Anyway after capturing his attention, we finally got sat, and First came the chips and the bottle of water, no drinking glasses, those came much later. Followed by side dishes. And then the silverware. All at different times. It would've been nice to have one manager or adult supervisor stop by the table just to ask how things were, but there was really no interaction from any kind of management whatsoever. It's a Friday night at 8pm, Any sort of supervisor would've been fine or some grown-up member of leadership. As for the food, we both ordered the chicken fajitas and we both asked for corn tortillas. When we opened up the packaging for the tortillas they were both literally cracked and fell apart when you tried to roll them into a taco. We asked for cheese because traditionally, although maybe not in Mexico, but we wanted more queso Blanco or just white cheese to add to the fajita and he brought it and then charged us two dollars without telling us they'll be an extra charge. We don't mind at all but at least let your guests know. He was nice. The taste overall was pretty bland, I enjoyed my chicken however my mother said that her portion was described as way more vegetables and very oily versus protein. "Hardly any chicken" ...The side dishes of the rice and beans were rather tasteless and cold. It wasn't very nice at all. We won't be coming back but I hope they kind of get their act together here. It was just nice to try someplace different. Good luck to you, Bandoleros. Oh and yeah and takes forever to wait for the check. Sorry not a very good review but I like to be honest. Sorry I couldn't have been better. But I hope this makes a difference in a much positive way.

Shrimp fajitas, comes with side of rice and beans and toppings. And a Bandoleros house margarita!

Chips and salsa were brought to the table immediately. There's a unique drink menu, and the Bandolero house margarita was delicious! My table also got the queso which was amazing. The portion of the fajitas is large, I had leftovers :) can't wait to return and try more!

Nothing on the menu or from the server mentioned that, which was disappointing right away. When I told the server I didn't like it and wanted something else, he literally tilted his head and said, "ummm what do I tell the bartender?" That honestly rubbed me the wrong way -- just felt unprofessional and awkward. Jenny got a tequila cosmo, which was fine, nothing special. Food-wise, everything was just average. The bao buns were overcooked and the bun fell apart, though the flavor was decent. The pineapple fried rice was probably the best thing we had, but even that was just okay. We also had dumplings -- Jenny liked them, but I thought they were just alright. Dessert was the biggest miss. The blueberry cobbler was not good at all -- maybe a 3/10 at best. One thing that really didn't sit right was when we asked to split the tasting menu and were told no. That doesn't make much sense -- if people want to share, especially for a tasting menu, it should be allowed. Overall, nothing stood out in a good way, and between the service and the food, solid ambiance , it just wasn't a great experience.

The Pan de Casa and Albondigas were the clear crowd favorites. My parents are in their 60s and adventurous eaters, and they were absolutely blown away. My dad couldn't stop raving about the meatballs! A huge shoutout to Kayla, our server, who was attentive, warm, and made the whole evening feel special. Sunday is a great night to go, relaxed vibe, great service, and the kitchen is clearly on point. T'ahpas 529 is a gem in Melrose. We will absolutely be back!

So I visited T'ahpas many years ago - date night dinner, left the kids at home & wanted adult food and Tapas were becoming all the rage at the time. Read good reviews, got there, small place, quaint, really good atmosphere, we began ordering food and OMG did we order sooo much, we liked a few things so much we ordered multiple plates, Im talking total fat kid night... Then we are sitting there and it was later at night so the place was empty and instantly I FREEZE - My BF at the time looked at me and noticed panic, he knew exactly what I saw from my reaction - there was a mouse in the dining room, now listen, I GET IT.. All restaurants have them, I wasnt even grossed out like that, THEY ARE MY BIGGEST fear in life, like if someone said Heres a million dollars be in a room with a mouse, I would have to pass! That scared, I dont know why - just am!!! So I exhaled and sat there... it started to run closer, it then disappeared and I slowly was able to unclench and then it came back like 20 mins later, this mouse was ballsy, like there are people walking around in & out and I just couldnt anymore. We got the bill and left, and I told many people and they said I should have complained on the spot but that just isnt me... Im just mad because the Food was GOOOOOOOD... I want to go back but a part of me is just like Nope, Not going to happen! So my take, the food is great, better than great! Hoping it was a one off situation and not a regular occurrence but I would love to come back, Im just a big pussy!

Ithaki Mediterranean Restaurant

I have written several glowing reviews of Ithaki over the past two years, and my partner and I…read morecontinue to enjoy the consistently superior food and value of this classic Greek restaurant. In this review, I want to concentrate on the ways that Ithaki creates a fine-dining atmosphere that is warm, relaxing, gracious, and satisfying. To begin, the facility itself is beautifully decorated, spacious, and warm. There is a bar with televisions, and some informal seating as one enters, and beyond that there are a number of booths and tables, with plenty of room for larger groups. One of the keys to Ithaki is the quality of the serving staff. I have named many of them in previous reviews. On April 21, I want to comment on the many ways that our server, Patty, made our dining experience exceptional. My partner and I were introducing two dear friends to Ithaki, and we wanted the dinner to be special. We told Patty that we wanted to take our time and enjoy all aspects of the dinner. Since it was Tuesday, we opened with the one dollar oyster specials. After serving our drinks, Patty gave us ample time to enjoy the oysters and chat, and then when everyone was finished, she brought the small plates (we had ordered mushrooms, calamari, pork souvlaki, and lamb lollipops - all up to the usual high standards). Patty made sure that everyone had finished what they wished before she began clearing the tapas plates and replacing the silverware in preparation for the main courses. One of our pet peeves is when a server removes plates and cutlery when others in the party are still eating. We had time to talk and enjoy the dinner, and only then did the mains arrive (we had a scallops special and the short rib pappardelle - again excellent). No dinner plate was removed until all parties had had time to enjoy the meal. Finally, both couples had our favorite dessert, galactobouriko, of course with new plates and silverware. There was no rush for us to leave, and two hours and fifteen minutes after we entered, we left in a state of total satisfaction, having been treated as welcome guests throughout the dinner. Too often, many restaurants make one feel that they are in a rush to "turn over" the table, but never at Ithaki! Our experience on April 21 was exceptional, but it is the same service we have been receiving since we had our first "date" over two years ago. So even though we are highlighting Patty in this review, she is just one example of a really exceptional waitstaff. Finally, even with a bottle of wine and all the delights we just mentioned, our cost with tax and a 20% tip was still just $75/person, and worth every penny.

From the moment you walk in, the vibe is equal parts cozy and enchanting -- dim lighting, chic décor, and just enough buzz to feel alive without being overwhelming. We kicked things off with a Witches Brew that was downright spellbinding -- a drink that could charm even the most skeptical Muggle. The Espresso Martini was pure wizardry: smooth, bold, and guaranteed to keep you wide-eyed through the night. A mixed drink rounded out the trio, each cocktail crafted with flair and a touch of mischief. The food was a playful parade of indulgence: * Tater tots that were crispy little golden spells. * Meatballs that packed a savory punch. * Sliders that were small but mighty, disappearing faster than you can say "Accio burger." * Goat cheese that was creamy, tangy, and downright addictive. * Raviolis that felt like little pockets of happiness. * caramel cheese cake was outstanding The staff? Absolute charmers. Attentive without hovering, quick with drinks, and genuinely welcoming. You get the sense they love being part of the magic here. Service is fantastic - you enter from the patio side (steps up front and ramp along back of the patio). These guys are well and professionally staffed and we've always been met and seated quickly. All of our servers have been knowledgeable and helpful in making selections. They have regular tables, high tops, bar seating and outdoor tables. There are dedicated water bowls for anyone who brings a pup (outdoors only) and the dogs I've seen have been well behaved and adorable. We've never brought our dog, but he's still greeted and admired by staff as we pass by on a walk. That really says all you need to know about the wonderful people. If you love the vibe and culinary creativity of Sarma or Oleana, Zayith absolutely belongs on your list. We sampled a wide range of the menu--patatas bravas, murgh malai skewers, lentil nachos, skordostoumbi (Zakynthos-style garlic shrimp), kataifi-wrapped prawns, and paneer butter masala--and every single dish was executed beautifully. The flavors were bold yet balanced, and the Indian influences stood out for their authenticity and depth rather than being diluted for fusion's sake. Compliments to the chef for creating such thoughtful, seamless combinations. The cocktails were equally impressive--we tried the sangria and the spiced goose, both of which paired wonderfully with the food and reinforced the Mediterranean spirit of the menu. The experience truly felt transportive--taking us from the streets of Seville to Greece and India in one sitting. The ambience is warm and inviting, making it equally well-suited for a family dinner, a special night out, or a relaxed evening with friends. We're so glad to have discovered this neighborhood gem--and it's safe to say we'll be regulars.

They came back around 4 or 5 times to ask me what kind of tea, if I want milk, should the milk be hot or cold, like a "cup" of tea or "something else"? It took about 20 minutes and the involvement of three people for them to bring me half a mug of hot water, a little cup of (hot) milk, and a celestial seasonings English Breakfast tea bag and then had the temerity to charge 9 DOLLARS for it. It was so utterly ridiculous. I'm usually willing to give people a second chance if there was anything good about the experience but this one is just a no from me.

For 4 of us, we ordered 2 Thai iced teas, khao tang na tung (rice crackers), jor puu, kai tod had yai (fried chicken), beef massaman, classic pad thai, and crab fried rice. I was not a huge fan of the rice crackers as they tasted a bit bland. Standouts were the crab fried rice and the beef massaman. Jor puu was good, the fried chicken was good, although it seemed less fried and more grilled. Pad thai was average to me as were the Thai iced teas. Overall, was a good meal and we left satisfied and full. But I don't think it was exceptional enough to warrant a month-long waitlist for a normal dinner time, although I'm sure much of this is due to making Bib Gourmand recently. The tortilla has nice and crispy and there was a good balance of the different fillings (shrimp, steak, cheese, guacamole, and pico de gallo). The chipotle sour cream (I assume that's what it was, the menu didn't say) was a nice addition. The cocktails are as tasty as they are cheekily named. My favorite among the ones I've tried is Smoked Mangos, which comes with a slice or torched mango. The prices for both food and drink are a little steep and the food menu is rather limited, which is the reason I give this place stars instead of 5. If you want somewhere fun to have some drinks and some smaller plates, you'll be satisfied.
