I am a huge fan of this place. BAMBU stands like a bubble tea oasis on Tacoma's east side. The interior has a pleasant and relaxed feel. Additionally, the staff are always friendly and accommodating. I'm also not sure what they do differently than other area places. However, the bubble teas here always seem thicker, richer, and more filling. If for some reason...you're in Tacoma, make sure you do yourself a favor and stop here. Just don't leave anything in your car. read more

The woman who I presume is the owner is super friendly, sweet and informative. My son has allergies and she was very knowledgeable about ingredients, alternatives and all the options I had for him. She was so nice it was like we had been friends forever, she treated all of the customers like that and I think that's a powerful quality to have. My Thai tea was great. I had Che once before when I first heard of them and I got a really flamboyant drink and was not a fan but I will certainty give Che a try again since there are endless options! Myself and my son loved the pandan waffle and he loved his soy banana strawberry smoothie and he cried a couple hours later when we got home because his sister drank it all and he didn't know. We will have to make another trip! The store is very very clean and accommodating for those who want to stay and play, like we did. Lots of games to choose from. They also have a rewards program. The store is super easy to miss amongst all the other strip stores on 38th and also with the construction going on. It's worth walking through the dust and dirt too though! I absolutely love this place. This is my go-to spot on a hot day when I want to cool down or when my sweet tooth gets the craving. First thing you'll notice when you walk in is how meticulously clean the place is. It makes it very inviting for people and gives you the sense that whatever they serve will also be equvently clean and perfected... and IT IS. The owner takes huge pride in her store and the product they create and will not settle for less than the best. She has high standards for her team and it shows. Their store has a personality of it's own, through each of their staff members. Guests that come in are treated like family and for that reason they've gained a loyal following in Tacoma. I would make a recommendation on drinks or desserts, but I've had it all and honestly you just can't really go wrong. I usually spend about $10-$17 a visit because I buy multiple things to share with my kids. Sont forget to create a customer rewards account with your phone number, and also let your military and student friends know that they have discounts for them also. Their cleanliness, customer service, great perks, and their community involvement leads me to say, Tacoma needs more exemplary businesses like this to build the community up. read more

Me and my sister's favorite place to go to on 38th St!! Such a cute place decorated with lots of Totoro!! I love it. I also appreciate that they have a restroom that guests can use. They a lot of choices on their menu. We always end up getting the same thing every time we visit. I get the #10 with basil seeds and my sister gets hers with egg pudding. Both are delicious! They were doing construction for a long time on 38th st and I always found it so overwhelming because I never know where to park. But good news is they've finished the road construction. I usually park on the right hand side on S Yakima Ave if I get lucky and find a spot. I sometimes park S 37th St near the park and just walk to Bambu. Both are free parking! I've also seen people park across the street from Bambu. read more

This place is clean and has a variety of options for drinks. They're boba isn't extremely sweet and was chewy. They have military discounts along with discounts on certain days for students. They have really cute decorations and board games to play while you hang out or wait. This place is now our fav boba spot! They have a few board games available on the side and a number of tables that you can move around to accommodate you and your friends! We've been here a few times but I've neglected to review yet, so here goes! Each visit has gotten better, thankfully.... I've been to other Bambu locations and it's nice to have this option but they need to need to work on the overall business and type of workers they hire. This particular visit was the best as I think the owner and/or manager was the one helping us and even with that we had a little blurp in our service but hey, it's getting better right? Finally got to try the Bambu in the Tacoma location during their soft opening. I love Bambu, so I would have to drive to the north end to get my fixings. I've tried the Tukwila and Seattle location and have no complaints. Now that I've tried this location, again I have no complaints. Bambu offers lots of Vietnamese style drinks, desserts, savory snacks, and snow ice. Although it looks like this location doesn't offer the savory snacks and snow ice, hopefully once they've officially opened then maybe they would add it to their menu. I always order the Bambu special and fruit tea, but something else caught my eye at this location. Pandan waffles!!! and you get to add a scoop of ice cream, which I chose the Thai Tea. The combination of flavors was superb. So yummy!!!!! I swear they will see me here practically every week, because I have been complaining that Tacoma does not have a legit asian dessert place, they are all in the north end. The snow ice cream was sooooo good, the flavors were very yummy. The one my family and I had tried was the green tea cheesecake, since were such a fan of both, then I tried out some Durian smoothie with basil seeds. Now I had to say, I don't really like the smell or taste of durian, but this drink got me hooked! It was very rich in flavor, very creamy, it wasn't very sweet it was just right, the basil seeds were soft on the outside and crunchy on the inside, kind of like a jelly wrapped in it. It was a great combination. I couldn't stop drinking some. Also ordered some winter melon green tea with some white pearls in it. Tasted really good, it wasn't bitter and had a really perfect blend of sweetness in it The place inside looks great too, perfect for taking Instagram worthy pictures. They also have some complimentary WiFi, and some board games too, like Jenga and card games to keep you company. They've got a huge selection of teas, coffee, fruit smoothies, and the best of all they've got some snow ice cream, ranging from $7.45 for regular, $9.45 for Large, and $11.45 for the family size one. This is one of the more legit tasting bubble teas I have tried. I had the Almond Milk tea, It was a little on the unsweet side for my liking. However, I very much enjoyed the freshness of the tapioca bubbles. The young lady that took my order was slightly rude. It's gone down hill. Usually order the smashed avocado which is significantly overpriced(but what the wifey wants she gets) and almond milk tea. First off they made me wait even though they acknowledge my presence (a couple left they made them wait just like I did) No greetings to customers, i watch this when more customers came in. And my milk tea tasted watered down. But what draw the line is one staff(dark Filipino) eating while handling customer drinks...that's just too much for me. Yay finally opened! I've had Bambu many times in California as that is where I am originally from. This Bambu has a variety of items other Bambu's do not have. My favorites are always the Sea Salt drinks and this Bambu has it! The Sea Salt Oolong Tea tastes just like the ones in Cali. One star down for pricing as their prices are double the prices in California, but there's not a lot in this area so it is understandable. read more

This is the avocado smash minus the shaved ice. I don't recommend this if you are planning on buying this if you want to sip a drink. I'm having to actually spoon out and smash the hard shaved ice to make it a decent dessert. I do however like their avocado smoothie with boba, I do not plan on buying the smashed avocado again.
