They are indeed authentic!…read more I have been missing the smell and taste of staple Vietnamese dishes ever since I moved out of California a few months ago. I used to receive Mom's vietnamese home cooking frequently and I lived near the Asian hubbubs with easy access to all the cuisine, but now I have to discover new places here in Washington to satiate my taste buds. Everything I've tried so far has been good. I've been content. But here!! I ordered takeout through Doordash, and as soon as I picked up my food, an aroma of so many flavors filled up my car. Parking is kinda annoying since it's on the street but I arrived within 30 mins of opening hours so it wasn't terrible yet. The restaurant already had at least a table or so, with customers, so I wouldn't be surprised if it got busier later. There's a fair amount of space and tables for hungry stomachs! The food was about ready by the time I arrived, and the 30 min drive home left me feeling famished and ready to dig in. Thankfully, I was not disappointed. Everything was packaged well so that nothing spilled during the car ride, and everything was so yummy! I ordered more than I originally intended... I was craving com tam (broken rice) and couldn't find a satisfactory place near my residence, so I drove all the way here to Tacoma.. and then I figured, I might as well order their Banh Xeo too! The photos online made it look so good, and it ended up tasting amazing! Slightly crispy and stuffed just enough with bean sprouts, meat, and other goodies. Perfect after drizzling some of the sauce over it. The Com Tam was also made well, and definitely hit my cravings with its classic ingredients. I ordered a Large Pho Bo Vien (meatball) for my son, and was sooo tempted to eat some myself. The broth smelled fresh and the noodles were cooked nicely. Decent portions for everything, too. I definitely need to return to try out more of their food. So far, it has made me one happy Viet gal :)

Since I made a drive, I asked for a menu for to-go order and he proceeded to give me menu and go about cleaning the floor. The whole restaurant had the smell of cleaning products plus some old food stench. I asked for pho and tofu spring roll to-go and he asked me if thats it. I said yes and he said ok come back in 10-15 min so I actually had to leave restaurant (I cant remember if I decided to walk back to my car or walk across the street to Hong Kong Market to browse little bit or both because I got a bit anxious by the service I received). Food was mediocre at best. Broth was a bit salty for me, noodle was not soft, Spring Roll was fine. I will not return to this business again solely from the experience I had. I know that this place is much loved, long standing local restaurant with lots of support and I know I cant judge a place from just one visit, but once was enough for me.

We sat downstairs since we were there primarily for the food and wanted to actually sit down and eat together. It was pretty empty when we arrived aside from one table, and we were able to seat ourselves wherever we wanted. They close at midnight, so arriving around 9 PM still gave us plenty of time to order, eat, and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed. And then we proceeded to order an unreasonable amount of food. The spring rolls were definitely superb (especially when dipped in the sauce), and I highly recommend getting a few for the table because apparently my family and I devoured them ASAP while waiting for our main course. I had to get the Bánh Xèo, because I have absolutely no self-control when I see it on a menu. The crepe was savory, filling, and delicious. Since it was cold that night, I also ordered Bún Bò Huế, because apparently being cold means I need to consume an entire bowl of spicy soup. I also noticed the food here leans more toward Northern Vietnamese-style cuisine, but everything we had was still really tasty. My son got a bánh mì without the garnish and was impressed by how huge and satisfying it was. Teenagers can be difficult to impress, so when the teenager says the bánh mì is huge and good, I listen. Our server was also really nice and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Now, parking... Oh, sweet Jesus. The parking lot is TIGHT. The surrounding streets aren't particularly spacious either. If you have an SUV like myself, or anything larger, prepare yourself. I was genuinely relieved when I got back into my car and discovered that my vehicle had survived the evening without acquiring any new battle scars. But honestly? Worth it. The best part for me was how nostalgic the food felt. Vietnam is the country where I was born, so getting to sit down with my family and eat Vietnamese street food that reminded me of home was really special. We live far from where I grew up, so finding food that brings back even a little bit of that familiarity means a lot. And after moving away, I really appreciate those little moments where a meal can transport you somewhere for a couple of hours. So yes, 5 stars. Great late-night option, delicious food, friendly service, generous portions, and a menu that scratched the Vietnamese food itch perfectly.

The space can get crowded, ventilation isn't great, and seating by the door can be uncomfortable. Service also feels stretched at times, since the same person may be cooking, handling chairs and serving. I'd give it four stars. The food is worth trying, but improvements in seating, airflow, and service would make it a better overall experience.

The sandwich has layers of meat and portioned appropriately. The pâté adds a rich umami flavor and the Vietnamese bơ (mayo) gives it a buttery flavor. The veggies are always healthy and seem fresh. Also their jalapeños actually have a kick unlike most places I've been to. I recommend this staple to anyone looking for a solid Vietnamese sandwich in Tacoma. Great place to chill and have coffee to start your day. They have other foods like noodle soups, stews, and a rice plate. I haven't tried any of them, but it might be something I might look into in the future

I ordered the beef ribs pho and it was 10/10. The meat fell off the bones and was so flavorful and juicy. The broth itself was perfect. I usually add lots of hoisin and lime but this was perfect just the way it was. Wish I had found this place sooner, it's my new favorite spot for pho and I can't wait to try other items on the menu.

My gf says that this place used to be really good, but then the drinks got kind of icy. Like too much ice/sugar, not enough flavor. I dont really notice it much, but she has one of those super tongues thatis both a blessing and a curse. I still think the tea here is way better than other bubble tea places in the area though. She compares it to the seattle bambu. Hoping this place tastes more like the Seattle branch? The Tacoma location is really convenient for us to go to. read more

This will always be my favorite place. No where will replace this in my heart. Lumi my daughter cried last night because we missed close by 15 minutes. She really want to see the owner. It did take a lot longer than I would have thought to receive our drinks and we were told this after we received two drinks but the drinks were delicious! The cinnamon rolls were a bit on the harder side and they put it in a little bag which the frosting got all stuck on it and it was hard to remove it without tearing the bag. I feel like they should consider a different way of distributing them. The cinnamon roll was good though, it wasn't overly too sweet like at Cinnabon.

I try to get as many as I can when I'm starting out and in the middle but I usually have a fair amount left. They don't take cash. I'm not sure if that's a permanent policy or if it was a issue that they were having at the time so best be prepared with more than one payment option.
