I have been searching for a Vietnamese restaurant or cafe that actually serves che year round! I am so happy with this place and bow down to their opening. I had it in my heart to order two drinks in one go so that I'd have something to enjoy in the evening, but I stopped myself. The location is not too far and distance makes the heart grow fonder. OMG - this place is the reason why my mom avoids taking my fat ass to Ranch Market with her. Because I always make a beeline straight for this place ASAP. It is literally impossible for me to enter this building and not leave with a Bambu beverage in hand. If you're Asian, then you don't need me to tell you what you already know, this is the dessert of our childhood. A taste of home, so to speak. If you are unfamiliar with these tropical dessert drinks, give them a try! It's like Boba except better and more interesting, in my opinion. Great customer service the cashier even informed me that if I get my Che drink dessert to go that they would be putting my ice in a separate bag which they did and it was two huge balls of ice. We ordered the #3 and #6 it was delicious!! Cravings definitely satisfied!! I love that it has consist taste and ingredients as the ones I would buy in California from Bambu locations. Highly recommended if you are in the area. My husband also got the Vietnamese coffee which she did warn us was quiet strong and boy she was not joking. It was pretty dark even with ice in it and my husband even said it was strong he has pretty good tolerance to strong coffee. I got the matcha milk tea with tapioca as my topping. The tea was in the little bland but overall pretty good and it was creamy. However the two stars is really for the clumped up tapiocas. They were all clumped up so that I couldn't really drink out of the cup. I think they should pay a little more attention to the toppings. I've attached a picture for an example. read more

I really don't know why I haven't written a review for this place yet and I've been here a bunch of times to actually write a decent review. As everyone knows this place is located in the Great Wall shopping mall. I know my vietnamese desserts pretty well and when I say it's good, it's good! I've had a lot of che in my life and bambu's is honestly one of the best. I gotta admit bambu's che is probably better than my mom's lol. I've only had a few from here like the #6 which is sort of che thai but not really and I don't recommend it, #5 which is mashed up avocado with condensed milk and jelly and tapioca I believe, and of course the #10 which is my absolute favorite!!!! It is never too sweet or never too plain, it is always made perfectly! The #10 has grass jelly, pandan jelly, and red tapioca mixed with half and half. Correct me if I'm wrong. The menu is quite extensive but I always lean towards the desserts. I think they also have bubble tea, coffee, and smoothies all at a fair price. The location is not convenient for me but whenever I'm in the area which is probably every other week, I try to get my #10 fix. The service is alright and the place is cute! This place is always busy!!! The Vietnamese dessert drinks are delicious, but it is an acquired taste. If you are not adventurous enough to try, they also have bubble tea, coffee, and smoothies! :) The dessert drinks are pretty heavy, so it is a good idea to share if you aren't very hungry. I always come here to get my dessert fix if im dining out in the area. I love that that they have a nice selection of desserts with different toppings and drinks that will satisfy anyone's taste buds. Only going there a few times, i have only tried #10 and #6. My favorite so far is #10 just bc it consists of jellies and i only need a straw to devour it. I have to say their desserts are a little on the sweeter side and their jellies can be crunchy yet have a nice soft texture, and at times tasteless. But overall the desserts have a nice consistency with the shaved iced and toppings mixed together. The staff are always nice and friendly. It has fresh coconut water, basil seeds, pandan (sp?) green jelly, fresh coconut pulp, longan, and shaved ice. Baby, Hubby, and I fought over the drink. Desserts: I'm not exactly well-versed in authentic Vietnamese desserts, but I think these are delicious. My favorites are (sorry, don't remember the Vietnamese names) #2 and #6. If you are not a fan of red or white sweet beans, I wouldn't advise getting these, however I love the beans and the taro. The special (#1) is good if you don't want the condensed milk or coconut milk, however it has basil seeds which have the gelatinous texture of chia seeds. Drinks: The bubble tea here is great, too! As always, there is an overwhelming amount of flavors and jellies to choose from. I think they do the fruit flavors the best. My friend ordered the strawberry tea (not bubble tea though). Yes, I am adding yet another positive review for this place. There are so many choices that there should be something for everyone. Everything is pretty customizable. Any of the coffee type milk teas or drinks are a little on the strong side, so if you are used to sweetened up drinks from neighboring milk tea joints, don't expect that here. So happy that it's not too far from home and satisfies our sweet tooth :) I usually get #1 Bambū Special because it's so refreshing with the coconut juice and basil seeds but we also like #6 Che Trai Cay, Original Combo Yogurt Slush, and fruit smoothies. The business owner, Dyane, personally reached out to me and apologized for my last experience. She welcomed me and my boyfriend with free drinks and a refund for my last smoothie (which was unexpected after the free drinks). Dyane explained to me that the plastic in my last smoothie was due to the bagged ice they use when their ice chest runs out of ice. After the incident, she made sure all the employees carefully pour the ice out without the plastic bag ripping from now on. I've been here once before for dessert, but their tea and smoothie selection is just as good. To me, you know how good a bubble tea place is based on the consistency of their tapioca pearls. Okay this place is amazing!! And slightly addicting actually. I've tried a couple things here and I haven't ordered a bad item just yet. The smashed avocado with coconut milk is pretty yums (this is coming from a avocado lover) and they are not cheap with the avocados! I'm pretty sure they just put maybe a whole avocado in there. I cannot remember what number it was, but they also have one with mashed taro and coconut milk, and yes, also amazing. The taro is definitely my go to when My sweet tooth acts up. The #10 is my sisters favorite and has become my favorite as well. It comes with pandan jelly, grass jelly, red tapioca, and coconut milk. OMG! Amazing.. all those textures together is so good. This shop is located in the Great Wall Shopping Mall, which has lots of Asian restaurants and a Ranch 99 inside of it (and other miscellaneous stores). It's a tough decision for when I'm in the area if I want a Vietnamese dessert drink or bubble tea from Tapioca Express. I've been here a few times and love getting the che combinations. I have yet to try their bubbletea and coffees. I love the large selection of different types of toppings/jellies and flavors. My favorite toppings are the red tapioca, basil seed, and logan. I might try to see if I can make a custom one next time. From my experience so far, the dessert drinks are been delicious and refreshing!
