Bamboo Walk is a solid Caribbean spot in Brooklyn with a huge space that's great for groups or a night out. The venue itself is spacious, lively, and well set up, though parking is limited, so plan accordingly. The food was excellent full of authentic Caribbean flavor and clearly prepared with care. Everything we ordered was well-seasoned and satisfying. The drinks were absolutely on point: strong, well-balanced, and complemented the food perfectly. Bamboo Walk delivers on atmosphere, food, and drinks. Definitely worth the visit if you're looking for a vibrant Caribbean restaurant in Brooklyn.

I decided to take my family here for a family dinner to spend some quality time and have great food. From the outside decor you can tell that this is a luxe environment. The decor inside was very intentional to give a luxury high class feel of fine dining. Food: 3.9/5 I'd say the food was delicious but there were few things that stood out to me. I ordered a few appetizers : calamari, and the conch salad. Both were amazing flavorful and the portion size for the calamari was really good and the dipping sauce which was a chipotle mayo was delish. I ordered jerk salmon and rice off the menu as my family members got fish and chips and a red snapper. The price point is between moderate and pricey but well worth it. Service: 4/5 staff was very attentive, kind & very helpful. They even had a love Dj playing early 2000's and mid 80's music which was such a nice vibe and a little bit of dancehall but he mixed so well. Ambiance: 5/5 so so nice. I loved it from the decor to the sitting area to the bathroom. Very spacious great for large parties, small birthday gatherings , date night and just to have dinner for 2 or catch up with someone.

I'm so late with this post. My sisters and I came to Brooklyn to visit a bridal store, Pantora, And were recommended this restaurant. From greeting to seating, the ambience was beautiful. The staff was so warm and friendly. Everyone paid attention and gave us the upmost service. It was almost like we were part of their family. The food portions were large and well worth it. The food was so flavorful, and the drinks were exquisite. We are actually scheduled to go back for my sister's birthday all the way from New Jersey Monday. We actually begged to have them open one closer in New Jersey, must visit. I can imagine the weekends being so much fun in the evening. This will definitely be my spot when in the area. Sorry, didn't remember everyone's name from the bartender to the server to the hostess. You were all amazing and deserve five stars.

We had the most wonderful experience celebrating my husband's birthday at Bamboo Walk. It was just the three of us (my husband, our three-year-old daughter, and me) and from start to finish, everything was phenomenal. The service was truly outstanding. Our server Jenell was warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcomed. The entire staff was kind, pleasant, and genuinely happy, which made the atmosphere feel even more special. The cocktails were amazing, perfectly mixed and just the right strength. Even our daughter felt included, as they had both adult menus and a kids menu, which she loved ordering from herself. For food, we started with the sampler. Everything was flavorful, beautifully presented, and came out quickly. We also ordered the escovitch snapper with black rice and a stir-fried chicken dish with black rice. Every single dish was seasoned perfectly, generous in portion, and absolutely delicious. To top it off, they brought out cheesecake with a birthday sparkler and took professional pictures. This made the moment feel extra thoughtful and memorable. The ambiance was cozy and romantic with beautiful decor. You honestly forget you're on Utica Avenue once you're inside. It felt intimate, special, and well worth the price. We left feeling celebrated, well-fed, and already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend for date night, celebrations, or even a family dinner with little ones.

I pass this restaurant every day and I've been meaning to try it out because I've heard great things, and i was not disappointed. The food was great! The drinks were also really good and strong. I made a reservation just because i wanted to ensure that the table was available. The service was a 10/10 as well. The decor and ambiance is very nice. The restaurant was very beautifully decorated inside, and they gave us hot towels after our meals to freshen up our hands. They had fresh bread with 3 different compote butters on the side. The bread was delicious and that garlic butter was great. The griot i had was so good. The black rice on the side was an extra $16 which i thought was a little much, because it wasn't a large size of rice and it had no protein in it. So that was a little sticker shock. But the rice was just okay lol. The plantain were good and the stir fry was good too. My friends enjoyed their meals of Caesar salad with jerk chicken and the bamboo pasta with shrimp. My friend ordered a lychee martini and sorrel punch and each was good. I ordered a Hennessy punch to drink and it was delicious and the right amount of Hennessy. All in all, I'll will be back. My friend and I wanted to go somewhere for a girls chat and a drink and eats. I was drawn to this place because I saw on social media that a carribean restaurant had a drive thru and I was intrigued because it was a different concept. I didn't need to use it today but I did want to try the restaurant. When we arrived we just made it in time for the end of happy hour so we ordered a round of Bahama Mamas. We also got appetizers. Codfish Fritters and Calamari. We did wait quite a while for the appetizers that I was good for the night. The appetizers were definitely worth the wait but now I know that next time I visit I need to come prepared to wait. The drinks were great, we ended up ordering another round. After we ate and drank, the waitress brought us a wet warm towel to wipe our hands. I was very impressed about the level of care towards the patrons. The bathroom was very clean but we were missing soap on the shared outside sink. the establishment was very clean as well and the bar was beautifully stocked and illuminated. I will definitely be back and do recommend. Just please be a little patient.

Enjoyed my experience at Bambo Walk! The food was amazing. Natacha and her team provided excellent customer service. We came for my niece's and cousin's birthday dinner, it was a large group. Food and drinks still came out in a timely fashion and the staff was attentive to our needs. The oxtail and lamb chops were definitely the stars of the show. The ambiance is moody and sexy. Perfect for an intimate date night or a large birthday gathering how we had. The music is also great but still a nice touch of class!

#9A Bamboo Pasta with Shrimp

Bamboo walk is a really nice upscale Caribbean restaurant. The atmosphere was a cool relaxing vibe. The food was DELICIOUS, every item was just great. We started with the codfish fritters, jerk wings and pepper shrimp. The presentation was on point. The codfish fritters had a nice crispy crunch and it came with a delicious sauce. The jerk wings were seasoned extremely well and were bursting with flavor. The pepper shrimp was exactly that - full of pepper seasoning and was presented in a pepper sauce. For our entree we had the curry goat, bamboo pasta with shrimp and the sweet chili shrimp. The curry goat was very tender and full of flavor. The Bamboo pasta had a nice flavor and blended well with the shrimp. The sweet chili shrimp was really good, had a nice sweet spicy flavor. We were very happy with our choices. We were lucky that we arrived in time to catch the end of their happy hour so we were able to order a few rounds of drinks. We ordered the Bahama Mama and French Martini. The drinks were just as good as the food. We had a great experience at Bamboo walk. The staff were very helpful, polite and provided top notch service.

I ordered a meal thru their drive thru service (I think it's an absolutely ingenious idea & I applaud them for it) which SHOULD have been quick and easy. The wait was 30+ minutes, with no notice on how long the food would take until I finally got fed up and honked my horn to get an employees' attention. The food finally arrived piping hot, (which was a plus), because i knew that meant it was cooked fresh however, when I got it home, it was a disappointment. The pasta was bland, with very little flavor. The salmon was overcooked & dry and the "steamed" vegetables were overcooked as well. I had heard and read so many good things about this restaurant, I was excited to try it but, I highly doubt I'll be back.

Wanted to come to this restaurant for a long time. Came here on a Saturday around 9pm. The place was PACKED to capacity. Had a short wait to be seated. As I was seated our server gave us time to look over the menu. He was a really nice & attentive also making suggestions. My friend and I ordered a drink which were not as strong as we would've liked. An Appetizer of codfish fritters to share. For the entrees my friend had Jerk Chicken Pasta & I had the fried goat (Tassot) with black rice and veggies. Her jerk chicken and pasta was good. Can't go wrong with that simple dish. My food on the other hand... Everything was lukewarm warm. My veggies were on the cold side. So it seemed as though they microwaved my food before serving. The black rice was not good, It was bland and they didn't use the right type of rice. The veggies were also blah, nothing special. The ambiance & service makes the restaurant a quality place but the price for the food ($160) vs what's given does not go hand in hand. I personally wouldn't return. I've tried the other restaurants where the food was better but less in price.

As promised in my last review, a group of wonderful women and I had brunch here on Saturday. It was fantastic! Excellent service from Jackson, the food was delicious and so were the drinks. We arrived at 1PM and there were a decent amount of people enjoying brunch, same cool, chill vibe. The brunch menu has a nice variety.

It was sort of an odd time so the spacious restaurant wasn't very busy. We studied the menu for too long and after much deliberation, here's what we ordered, in order of spice level: - Oxtail ($35): Not spicy, super flavorful, "Trimmed and sliced chunks of oxtail seasoned freely with fresh spices and simmered to tender perfection." - Curry goat ($29): Mildly spicy, "Goat meat marinated and cooked in curry spices and herbs makes this an exotic dish." - Jerk chicken ($20): Apparently incredibly spicy so I steered clear of it, "A Jamaican delight. Spicy, delicious chicken baked with this unique combination of spices from the island." The dishes I could handle were excellent, with no drop of sauce left unmopped. On the sides front, the rice and beans, roti, steamed vegetables, and plantains were all tasty. The entree sizes were hearty. Our server seemed like a cool dude: easygoing with a sense of humor. It was kind of chilly in the restaurant, not sure if we were in a warmth dead zone or what. The bathroom was frog-themed which was a cute touch!

I discovered Kokomo because I knew I wanted our wedding celebration to be in Williamsburg -- a neighborhood that holds so many memories for me growing up in the Bronx and exploring the city as a kid. We flew in from Los Angeles and truly made it a full wedding week experience. I planned the wedding myself, so I had been communicating with Joel for months leading up to the event. We reserved the Champagne Room, which felt like its own beautiful oasis. As a Jamaican-American woman, it meant so much to know my disabled mother would feel culturally comfortable, welcomed, and safe in the space and with the food. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, attentive, and calming. Our server especially helped ease my nerves while we were finalizing seating and guest details, and after that, I genuinely did not have to worry about a thing. And the food? Absolutely incredible. Truly perfection. As a vegan, it meant so much to fully enjoy every part of my wedding meal without compromise. The rum punch was fantastic, our guests loved the open bar package, and the entire evening flowed so seamlessly. The aesthetic is pure island luxury -- elevated, warm, vibrant, and beautiful. The communication from the owners and management team was excellent throughout the entire process, and I even had the chance to finally meet Joel at the end of the night after months of planning together, which was such a lovely touch. I was also able to personally thank the chefs. We even accidentally left my bouquet behind, and the team kindly helped us retrieve it the next day. Kokomo NYC is officially a staple in our family now. I already know we will celebrate future milestones there and visit often whenever we are back in New York. It makes me proud to support a Black Caribbean-owned business that creates such meaningful experiences with so much care and excellence. I truly cannot imagine our wedding without Kokomo, and I'm so grateful they were part of our story. : @lensofher
