I've been a regular at Sally's since the other locations were around, so I was really excited to try the Erskine location and see if it was going to give me that same Sally's satisfaction. And honestly... it did not disappoint! We started with the happy hour appetizers: jerk shrimp tacos, escovitch wings, and salmon bites. Everything came out pretty quickly and was well seasoned. I didn't personally try the jerk tacos, but my brother LOVED them, so I'll take his word for it. The salmon bites were really good and came with sweet chili sauce, although they were flavorful enough that I didn't even need it. My only little complaint was that the escovitch wings came out wet rather than dry, which I personally would've preferred. The happy hour pricing was also a win. Most of the bites were $15 or under, and the portions were actually really decent. By the time my main dish came out, I was already full from the appetizers and ended up taking my Badmon Rasta pasta home as leftovers. It comes with shrimp, lobster, and salmon pasta, but they weren't serving lobster at the time I went, so I substituted with extra shrimp. Even with that, the pasta was tasty and the portion was generous. Definitely enough food to leave with tomorrow's meal already handled. Now let's talk about the rum punch because that rum punch was PUNCHING. It was GOOD good. I sat at the bar, and Chas was my bartender. She was super nice, attentive, and honestly made the experience even better. She gave great suggestions whenever anyone in my party was hesitant about what to order, and she was always checking in without being overbearing. The service was quick and everything came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was also really nice. The music was playing at a good volume, so we could actually enjoy it without having to yell across the table at each other. The restaurant was clean, including the bathroom, and they have a BIG mirror if you need to check yourself before leaving or, naturally, take a few pictures Overall, I had a really good experience. Good food, good portions, good music, good service, and a bartender who knew what she was doing. Sally's Erskine definitely passed the test for me. I'll absolutely be back! read more

As someone that used to visit the Original Sally's that was located on Ave D in Brooklyn I was looking foward to experience the new home in Gateway. Ambiance was ok. But could be a little more Jamaican vibe brighter. Service was good waiter was attentive and honest. He wanted to make sure we were satisfied. The fish was ok could have been seasoned a little more and more spice could have been in the escovitch sauce. To not serve plantain with any entree in a Jamaican restaurant was disappointing. You could only get it as a side. The jerk wings were the most disappointing. Its a fried wing with wet sauce no spice no taste of jerk anything. They were dry and seemed old. I would pass on that. The Mac and cheese was good but I could tell it was microwave In the plate it was served in. As a west Indian person those wings were disappointing. The live DJ was a WWWWWHHHHHOOLLLLEEEE VIBBBBBBEEEEEEEE. Hubby and I were dancing in our seats. The drinks we ordered was a mixed bag my mango drink did not taste any mango just a bunch of Vodka. Changed it for a Sally's sunset. It was delicious. Bartender took the criticism and was willing to fix or make a new drink. She was great. Great customer service. The owner came out she was extremely accommodating and friendly. My family and I dined in on a midweek afternoon. We ordered Sally's punches (authenticaly made with wray and nephew rum) from the happy hour menu great food and drinks options for the prices. I believe 3p to 7p. We each had a lunch special item Great portions for the price . I ordered the curry goat with white rice and steam veggies. Tender succulent pieces of goat. My one critique would be it could've been a little spicier as curry traditionally is, however I understand that the masses can't always handle heat. I was able to get some pepper sauce on the side . That did tun it up!. 8/10 We ordered the carrot cake for dessert. It was moist and tasty not overly sweet 7/10. Sally's has offered carribbean delights to nyc specifically Brooklyn for decades. I use to frequent the flagship store on Clarkson Ave as a child. Ill be back to enoy some more of the menu. There is convenient parking in the back . Spacious tables and bar seating. A great floor to ceiling mirror by the restrooms . Nice to check out your fit before heading back over to the table lol. read more

I live in the neighborhood . They're fairly a new restaurant. I had some appetizer and a meal walk-in it was decent.

They did not have the items I want. Shrimp was overcooked. Fruit punch and lemonade seem to be from a box music was loud. Only two of us and the wait time was long The Escovich Snapper and Bodman pasta was good. No lobster was availabe for the pasta. I had to substitue with shrimp. The price is very steep. read more

I'm a chef and a huge supporter of Black-owned businesses. Recently, my friends and I were among the first to enter this business, and almost immediately, the service was bad. The bartender was lackadaisical, and that was a sign of things to come. After being seated, we ordered fried calamari. Fifteen minutes later, we were told they were cleaning the fryer, so that dish is not available. Who cleans the fryer after you open for business? Okay, we ordered two curry chicken roti's, and it took so long that I cancelled the order, but all of a sudden, it was ready. After paying $32 for the food, we had had enough of the poor service and warm beer, and we left. Arriving home, my wife and I opened the bag, and to our surprise, the two containers contained a minimal amount of chicken and someone's idea of roti. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the decor. There is no way I could recommend anyone, and I mean anyone, to drink, eat, or set foot in Sally's. read more

When I tell you never again that is exactly what I meant. I will never eat at this restaurant again. I ordered honey-glazed salmon with rice & peas and mixed vegetables. It took about 5 minutes for my food... so then I should have known the food was not going to be fresh. Indeed my food was not fresh at all. The salmon was hard as stones so I can tell that the food was not made to order. The only tasty thing was the honey-glazed sauce. $26 gone to waste --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I should have known that the food was not going to be good, because there were no customers. I really like the decor of this place!! Cheyenne the Bartender made a excellent Rum Punch!! Five stars to her!! I ordered a Veg Roti, it was just okay. I had much better. Also, I ordered Curried Chickpeas with White Rice for my Vegetarian Daughter and she loved it!! I gave this place 3 stars because of their Veg Roti!!! Please you need to incorporate fresh greens!!
