This is by far the best place to get BBQ in Provo/Orem. It's definitely not my favorite place to get it but they do a really good job. The food was good, the taste was not worth how much it cost. If you go do not order sides, they are not worth it just go buy kraft Mac n cheese and goldfish and it's the same but for half the price. One thing we did like is you order the meat by the pound which makes for mix and matching and making unique sandwiches. It's BBQ. In UTAH! And the best part is that it doesn't taste fake. It doesn't seem like they are just trying to copy someone else. They actually do their own thing. The turkey was super moist. It didn't have a ton of flavor on it, but the sauces made up for it. Pulled pork sandwich was great. They pull it right in front of you and you get nice size chunks of meat. My review is short and concise: Average pricing If you're not getting the nachos and you are not there to watch a Byu game with other fans, then I recommend other BBQ joints like "cubbys." This place is so average, when you get your food, you'll realize how careful they are with their budget and money. I say that because you'll pay 10 dollars for a pulled pork sandwich and you'll get a carefully measured out amount of meat onto the bun. It's suppose to be BBQ food where they give you gobs of food for that price. Famous daves has a special where they fill a trash can lid! Bam bam BBQ just doesn't serve you enough food and then you're left wondering why I didn't just get a huge pulled pork at Costco for 5 dollars. Bam bam BBQ just doesn't feel like a BBQ place at all, even if they added a couple bucks to their prices it wouldn't matter to me as long as i get a huge sandwich with a hardy portion side. The presentation is great there! They have tvs for the games you are wanting to watch, they line up picnic tables so they can serve to large groups and the establishment is very clean. Overall i always look for restaurants that do more for the customer and less for themselves. I go to chipotle and they give me free tortillas without a question, at red robin bottomless fries, Mexican joints give me chips and salsa until my sonriendo, even five guys gives me peanuts. Bam bam BBQ shows me little to convince that they want to please the customer more than their competitors. Your food portion will be limited, the pricing won't be fair and you'll be left wondering why they even could not put out peanuts onto the table. I ordered the brisket nachos, which were amazing. Friends ordered the chopped sandwich and sliced brisket. They also have a few different sauces to choose from which I love. As far as the location, nothing spectacular. Not very much outside seating, but who cares because you can only sit outside here part of the year anyway. The seating inside is kind of cafeteria like. There are some rows of benched seating but plenty of space. Other reviews are entirely too critical of this place and it's outdoor seating and "atmosphere". Prefacing this by saying I'm a Georgian. I've grown up on southern BBQ since I was old enough to eat a rib. Husband and I were hoping for a good southern style BBQ joint and were encouraged by the great reviews. I ordered ribs and Mac n cheese, he ordered brisket sandwich and Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese had goldfish crackers on top, which was definitely new for us. The pasta itself wasn't fully cooked and the sauce was bland, overall disappointing. Second strike was that they have Pepsi products, which is a sin in a southern style restaurant. The meat was pretty good. Husband liked the brisket, but overall wasn't too impressed. This is the best BBQ I have had in Utah. I really liked the atmosphere because it reminded me of some good BBQ I have had in Texas. I have been to some pretty well known BBQ places here in the United States and this place holds its own. The brisket and the pulled pork are both good but the winner is the ribs. The brisket isn't the best I have had and neither is the pulled pork, but the ribs were very good. I can't remember having better ribs anywhere. They are very tender and fall off the bone and they have a delicious smokey flavor. I would recommend this to others 100%. I am a very picky and the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I didn't have a euphoric like experience eating the food here. I always reserve 5 stars for places I die over. read more

My first time here. I asked the meat guy what to get he seemed annoyed. The cashier said Brisket and Turkey are popular. The ribs were sold out which was very disappointing since I've heard great things. I guess that's why they were sold out... Having lived in Texas for many years, I have a very high regard and standard for BBQ. Many have tried, but Bam Bam's is the first in Utah to truly reach "Texas BBQ" level, in my opinion. Not living in Utah any more makes it difficult to get Bam Bam's as often as I would like, but when I do make it to Utah, it's rarely without a visit for some Swacho's or plate of brisket. Other users have commented that the price is higher than other BBQ. Guess what? It's also better BBQ! If you want quality in this world, you pay for it. Just like you wouldn't compare a Sizzler steak to a prime steak from Fleming's or Ruth's Chris, don't expect bargain basement pricing for superb BBQ. This restaurant came highly recommended by several friends, but I was extremely disappointed. The brisket was decent, although we got the fatty and should have asked for the lean. It was very greasy and salty at the crust. I was disappolnted on the presentation (slapped down on a sheet of butcher paper), although I am hearing that this is typical of Texas BBQ. My husband and I were expected to share a tray (no plates). My potato salad was served in a french fry boat and was loadedd with mustard...bright yellow! My husband only took a bite out of his coleslaw. The plastic wear was so cheap it was very flimsy. The biggest issue for me was hygiene. The young man who handed us the device to swipe our credit card (wearing laytex gloves), used the same hand to retrieve the bread and place it on our tray. The gal behind the counter had long flowing, color treated hair, which was not tied back. The countainers on the tables were crusted over at the tip. We did not use them for this reason. As we exited the restaurant and attempted to dispose of our trash, the recepticle was overflowing, already since the majority of the crowd was in the line behind us. read more

The meats are usually pretty good, very tender and moist, but in my opinion everything else falls a little short. The sides, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the prices are all a little bit off. I got two (yes only 2) ribs, a side and a drink, total was $12 something. Seems overpriced for the amount of food I got. The ribs were fall-off-the bone yummy, but there's just not a lot of meat on them for the price. None of the sides have impressed me that much. My biggest critique is the cleanliness. The entire reastaurant seems to be coated in a layer of grease. The tables are tacky, the floors aren't kept clean, the napkin/straw area is dusty and dirty, the drink machine had greasy fingerprints all over it, the place probably hasn't had a good wipe down for months. And I'm not a fan of having my meat served up on a grease-soaked piece of brown butcher paper. Not appetizing. I feel like I have to take a shower after eating here. I'd love to see them pay more attention to cleanliness and reduce their prices a little bit. I don't crave the food here. It seems like there are mostly only chains here which are never great and if you do happen to find somewhere decent, they charge you your life savings and your first born child!
