A friend and I had a Galentine's date night at bakery Square and had the greatest time. We started at Alta Via Pizzeria for dinner and cocktails before attending a Valentine's Day themed cocktail class hosted by bakery Square. The bakery Square staff checked us in and were so nice and helped us to our spot. We laughed ALL night making cocktails and meeting new friends. I highly recommend going to bakery Square whether it is catching up with friends, a date night, or even just to get out of the house. Will definitely be back!!

It took me a bit to figure out it how it all works here, ended up going into city kitchen which had a few diff restaurants to order from, 4 and a pop up up one for the night. You're seated at a table and I was told you order using the barcode on the table and servers will bring your food to you. First few times my order wouldn't go through and I wanted to give up but then it finally did. We got a Nashville chicken sandwich from Elevate, potato skins from Charred and bulgogi egg rolls from the Asian place. The Nashville Chicken Sandwich (didn't come with fries) was the worst thing I ate in Pittsburgh, possibly in Pennsylvania. The breading sliding off and the chicken soggy. Gross. Gross. Not remotely Nashville spicy or spiced. It even has a chipotle sauce, weird. Came with a side salad of some leaves. You could pay extra for fries. The potato skins were flavorless and not really skins, more like potato halves. The bulgogi egg rolls were really good! But all the other food was overpriced and just BAD. I wouldn't go back.

Had a gifted experience from Bakery Square to try the GF options at Alta Via Pizzeria and had such a yummy meal! The fig and Brie pizza is a must try from me! Also had the vodka pizza. The veggie sides were fresh- I had the Brussels salad and broccolini with whipped ricotta. Flavors for all tastes here!

I've been coming to Bakery Square since the Urban Active days and they have done such a nice job with the whole development. Great food options, garage parking, and the giant screen is an awesome place to watch sports. We went to Tako Torta and then Jeni's Ice Creams for dessert. Such a nice evening.

Loved the vibe of Bakery Square. Visited on a gorgeous day and it was fun to sit outside and watch everyone enjoying this unique space. From the shops to the restaurants it was a great way to spend the afternoon. The parking was easy to manage and even the crossing guards were kind. We had a delicious dinner at the Golden Gai, which I would highly recommend.

I started my morning with an outdoor yoga class at Bakery Square, and it was such a vibe! The atmosphere is super relaxed with just the right amount of energy--flowing in the sunshine felt amazing. Afterwards, I headed to City Works for brunch and it did not disappoint. Their brunch menu is stacked (highly recommend the avocado toast & mimosas). Perfect spot for a little self-care morning that turns into a social brunch date. I'll definitely be back!

The ordering app sucks The bottle of wine we ordered came out as a single glass The bulgogi egg rolls were icy in the middle The side plates were.... You judge I'm not sure we will be back here anytime soon

4.5 stars. Bakery Square is a shopping center that was built on the site of the former Nabisco Bakery. In recent years, Bakery Square has been attracting more businesses to fill the storefronts. Bakery Square has a few office buildings, which are occupied by Google, UPMC, Philips, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and others. The shopping center also has apartments and townhouses for residents. Bakery Square's restaurants include Alta Via Pizzeria, Galley, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Jimmy John's, Panera, Starbucks, and Tako Torta. Current retail stores include Anthropologie, BHLDN, Free People, and West Elm. Other businesses include PNC Bank, LA Fitness, TIAA, and Springhill Suites. Some vacant storefronts remain to be filled and are still available for lease. I like this shopping center because it is new and nice. I deducted half of a star from my rating, because I like the restaurants more than the stores.

What a wonderful place!!! It was warm enough to eat outside. We all ordered from different places from a digitized menu on the table. Huge TV showing the NFL game and places for kids to play. This area is pet friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The trees were changing color and it was just a perfect day. There is a hotel (where my parents stayed) and a Starbucks-always a good thing. I had chicken pot pie and tea. The bathrooms were clean and there is a parking building on site. We will go back....

This vast space is so nice! Enjoy drinks from the bar and food from a handful of food stations (see my pics to drool over!). There's also outdoor seating where football watch parties and other events take place. Parking in the garage next door is free for 3 hours when I went on a weeknight after 5pm. This is a great spot to meet friends for happy hour!

I heard this was one of the famous bakeries I must check out in Pittsburgh. I got their pistachio…read moreeclair, ham and cheese croissant, and almond croissant -- all tasted wonderful and light. The croissants were great when you lightly air fry/toast them if you don't eat them right away. In Lawrenceville, it's a small location with a couple of outdoor seating but none inside. However, it is a chain so you might have one in your little area. My only thing is that the pistachio eclair is very sweet (so if you don't have a sweet tooth, maybe I'd go for another subtler dessert). I saw they have a deal where you can get a baguette, sandwich, and drink for $7. Good deal imo considering the quality of their bread, and it's a good excuse to buy a sweet treat with it!

The flavors were balanced, the pastry was buttery and delicate, and they looked as good as they tasted. The total came to $50.65, which feels pretty standard for a French bakery once you understand the baseline is a bit higher than your typical American dessert spot. For the quality, it's well worth it. Consistently great, reliably tasty, and perfect for special occasions or whenever you want to treat yourself. The staff is friendly. It's usually busy here and not conducive to eating inside.

They have two cases of their delicious looking pastries, one table of discounted items, and a case serving hot items. Open that case and serve yourself the hot mini quiches and empanadas. Started with a mini quiche and a beef empanada. Hubby liked his quiche. I'm not a fan of olives and they were all over my beef empanada. Will not be getting that one again. The kind young lady behind the case helped us order our very first Burnt Almond Torte. It comes in different sizes and we chose the bar as it easily serves two. She even gave us sporks to eat it with. We really loved the Burnt Almond Torte. The inside has a soft, moist vanilla cake layered with a thin layer of icing and enrobed with more icing and topped with the buttery, crunchy almonds. We will be back for more.

I started with the quiche and enjoyed it; the crust was just average but the egg filing was very good. My wife was not a fan of the empanada so we will not get that again. It was around 10 hours before we tried our Burnt Almond Torte...wow! That dessert is something that I will eat again, and again. The toasted almonds were soooo good! They were crunchy, crispy, and perfect. The Bar Cake had a white cake inside and icing on the outside; it was heavily coated in those almonds. The person who assisted was knowledgeable about the items to a point; she did not eat anything in the bakery so it was by observation. Don't care, that Burnt Almond Torte is the real deal!
