One of my good friend's parent own this shop, in particular. I've been a regular for quite a bit now and I really have to admit that the doughnuts are pretty damn good. Moving from Japan, the king of pastries, it's been pretty difficult to find good doughnuts -- nothing really compares to Mr. Donut. However, I've found a nice middle ground here. This place is amazing. I probably eat here 3 times a week for breakfast. They are super quick and super friendly. The drive through is very quick as well. They now take credit cards with a minimum of $5.00 orders. I always go with my sandwich on a toasted croissant sandwich. You can put anything with your egg and cheese, turkey, ham, bacon, sausage, etc. The coffee is is also great, I drink mine black and their coffee is not too bitter. I selected a half dozen donuts for $4.50, to share, Inc sour cream old fashioned, apple spice filled, maple frosted, as well as sprinkles, fruity pebbles and Oreo topped ones. They were moist and flavorful, with good amount of topping and filling. The hot coffee is mild and they add the amount of cream and sugar desired. Service is fast and regulars are greeted with their favorites ready. Having lived in the neighborhood a while ago, it's nice to see how things have changed or stayed good. read more

They get two stars because their donuts are good, but I really really loathe dishonest businesses. Their bagels are a total lie; they are not even bagels. I would call them bagel shaped bread, but they're not even bagel shaped! They're literally square bread, hamburger bun style dough, with a dimple in the middle and toppings thrown on. Disgusting. Bearclaws, apple fritters, blueberry glazed donuts are personal favs. The guy at the counter even adds the cream & sugar to your coffee at an acceptable balance. Before I even entered this shop I believed Dunkin Donuts had the best donuts in Orlando, now I am proven wrong. They hold the spot for mastering the perfect donut! Yum! Finally got to try this place out. Parking is a nightmare, and we lucked out and got a spot for once. Of course the line was a bit long, but it went somewhat quick. We ordered two bagel egg and cheese sandwiches, one with bacon on an everything bagel, the other with sausage on a plain bagel, and two donuts. They only accept cash, so keep that in mind. We ate the donuts while we waited for the sandwiches, and they were really good. I liked my vanilla frosted, and appreciate that the doughy part was not really sweet, making the frosting stand out nicely. The bagels were so soft, almost like rolls, but with nice flavor. The sandwiches are quite filling, so next time I may skip the donut (who am I kidding, I likely won't). We did wait a bit for the sandwiches, but it was pretty busy so that's to be understood. There are a few tables and a little breakfast bar where everyone waited for their food. From what I can tell, they get busy in waves. We lucked out this time, as previous times I haven't even been able to get into the parking lot. I get a kick out of eating local, so when I heard about this independent donut shop, I had to give it a shot. It was...well, it was donuts. The donuts were on par with Dunkin', and the coffee too. It's not exactly a Dunkin Donuts replacement, though, as there is a slightly smaller selection and no espresso drinks. There's a little drive-up window on the side of the building for you commuter types, and the prices are...well, donut prices. I grabbed a half-dozen donuts and a coffee from the nice couple that runs the place and was in and out in no time. (Note on the coffee: they add the cream and sugar, and like DD, have a rather generous pour on the sugar. OMG, cavities now.) I'm sticking with a 3-star review because I was hoping for a more unique product, or at least a nicer environment (it's clean but pedestrian). But if you're craving a glazed and a cup of coffee, you might as well stop here for something just as good as the chains and keep a few bucks in the community. read more

This place is such a gem. The first time I went there I didn't realize it was cash only, but the owner let me take the donut I had ordered with the request that I "pay him back next time." Whaaaaat?!?!? Nobody does that! I was so impressed by his giving and trusting nature (and how amazingly delicious that chocolate-frosted donut was) that I came back the very next day. We stopped in for a breakfast sandwich while on vacation. This place was right down the street from our AirBnB. Holy wow! I got a croissant and my girlfriend got a bagel sandwich. We loved them so much we went back two days later. I got a blueberry bagel with cream cheese and the bagel was unlike any I'd ever had. It was fluffy and soft, but so flavorful. Staff was very friendly, spotted our Harry Potter shirts and chatted with us about Universal for a bit. Next time we're in Orlando, this place is a must stop. You know, old time diners and sandwich shops. Beefy King is a perfect example of how to do it right. Bakery Plus is not. I was rushing to work on a Saturday morning at my nonprofit to train some new volunteers, and I wanted to bring them done donuts. This place is on my way, and I liked the no frills look, so I stopped in. Talk about sparse, when I walked in, I s shocked at just how plain, old and... Dirty it felt. I'd say it had a sterile feel to it, but that would assume some level of cleanliness, which is not an assumption I would make based on the look of this place. While it was slow, they were out of many donuts. But, when the gentleman asked what I wanted - no "hello...good morning, etc " mind you - I began ordering an assorted dozen. He seemed like he could not care less about the customers or any semblance of customer service. Upon finishing my order, he gave me the total and I started to hand him my card, to which he said, "we don't take cards. There's a bank a few blocks away." If there was a sign saying cash only, it wasn't displayed well enough to be seen easily. And who is cash only these days!? I know that's a bit of white whine here, but cmon! So, I just left. I had no time to go get cash and come back. There's a dunkin donuts near my work, so I just went there, and for just a bit more than I would have paid at this place, I got a much more varied bakers dozen. I really try to shop local, but in this instance I was late for work and had to go to a chain which gave me better customer service, cleanliness and variety. I'll never go back to this place again. I wonder how many customers they lose just because they can't venture into this century and get a card swiper. read more

Excellent donuts from a local bakery. We tried a half dozen donuts on our visit including, yeast, cake, sour cream and filled. All of the donuts were very tasty and fresh. The glaze for the glazed donut was sweet as expected but not over the top which I appreciated. The sour cream donut was outstanding. Sweet with good tangy flavor; a definite favorite. First thing you notice walking in is the sign that mentioned they only take cash (which is an inconvenience for me because I don't usually carry cash). I really wanted this place to be awesome. It's close, it's not a franchised chain, and it's Donuts. It was just OK. I was there in the afternoon, so had to wade through some local after school kids, which reminded me of a donut shop I would go to after school to by cigarettes at (memories!) ... but I digress. I must clarify the reason for my 3-star rating; it's really 5 stars for the food and 1 star for the service. I chose to stop by here because it's across from my job and I like to support a small business over a corporate business whenever I can. Plus, the Yelp reviews were excellent. The problem w/ this being a small business is that the customer service is pretty bad. No one was rude, but all three employees that I saw, just didn't seem to care about being there or about providing expedient service. There was a long line when I arrived inside, and there was also a long line at the drive-thru. The problem is, not one of the employees had any sense of urgency. They were walking around bored, like they didn't have a care in the world. In contrast, if you go to Panera or Dunkin' Donuts nearby at 7:45am, they have the same amount of people, but the staff is rushing around trying to get customers in and out quickly, and on time for work. Not here, they couldn't care less that you'd like to get to work on time. And, it was pretty obvious all of the customers, including myself, were on their way to work. When the bell would ring more than once to alert them that someone was at the drive-thru window, they wouldn't hustle over there, they'd just wander over there whenever they felt like it. Really? The drive-thru has a line and you don't care? The lady who ordered before me grew impatient with her wait and told them she needed to get to work and clock-in, but would come back in 10 minutes to pick up her breakfast. It took me 18 minutes to get in and out, so plan accordingly, because all I ordered was a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel....that's it! I would plan to come here on my day off, so as not to worry about time, but I don't actually live near here. :( On to the actual breakfast, the sandwich was one of the best I've ever had! This place is awesome. And the owner was very nice. Definitely worth a trip for these sweet treats! Tried for the first time recently. Sour cream, blueberry, and chocolate donuts were good. They are very light and sweet- not dense like DD. I fell in love with their bagels. As others have said don't expect the traditional boiled bagel that is chewy. These are more like a fluffy yeasty roll that is heaven with a thick layer of cream cheese. I can't wait to go back and try them with egg and cheese. I love supporting local businesses and this one is definitely worth supporting. Only issue is they are cash only and closed on Sundays....but I guess they deserve a day off after creating all of that delicious bread goodness! First time here (thanks to their Yelp page - which I feel is a little inflated) and it's okay. The prices are amazing! I got a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel, a coffee and a bottle of water for $5. Can't do that anywhere else! However, the bagel was a little too soft and doughy for my liking. If I were to come back, I'd ask to either have it toasted or go for a croissant instead (because they look awesome!). Regardless, the prices alone make it worth a visit. Donuts are good, much better than DD's if that's what you're in the mood for, but they do get cleaned out, particularly this Saturday morning. Cheaper than dunkin as well, and the jelly filled and maple glazed are awesome. So why three stars? The breakfast sandwiches taste like they use the same grease from Sun up to closing, and eating half of one of their egg and bacon croissants made my fiance very nauseous. Croissants are better at dunkins, theirs tasted like shortening and were oddly thin and shiny inside. Fantastic donuts!!! I looked this place up before my trip to Orlando, read a lot of great reviews, and oh boy did it live up to its reputation! And Some!!! I highly, highly recommend making the drive to find this gem of a donut shop. My girlfriend and I made it a point to get a variety, and all them were great!!! Best bagel and doughnut shop in all of Orlando without a doubt. I live pretty close to the bakery and I come here very often. The owner, Sam, knows my order every time I come in, he even remembers that I go to UCF and all those little details that you love about Mom and Pop shops. Best doughnuts and especially bagels I have ever had, no lie, no exaggeration. The prices are amazing. Cash only though, so make sure you go to the ATM beforehand. Very cheap but very good quality food. I always order a plain bagel with cream cheese but I've also had the BLT on a bagel and on a croissant. Both are perfection. I've also had doughnut holes, regular glazed doughnut and sour-cream old-fashioned doughnuts. All are phenomenal. Even their coffee is great. Great food, great prices, great people/family. This was our family's /communities favorite donut shop for 20 years. It was voted one of the top ten in the state of Florida. Family owned by lovely people. Unfortunately they sold it. We tried it at least 10 times since the new owners took over. At first things were fine because Sam was there watching them. But after he left it all went down hill. The new employees are flippant and they changed the recipes. Why would you change the recipes of a highly successful donut shop? Everyone I have talked to is sad. The new recipes taste like Dunkin Donuts but worse. They are terrible. After going 2-3 times a week for 20 years, we won't be going back. I only wish Sam didn't sell it.
