wow this was so good! I'm usually more of a croissant lady but this was so tasty and fresh. The best thing: it's right next to my house!

3 Stars for kind service, an array of bakes goods and homemade spreads, but an egg and cheese bagel that didn't hit the spot :-/ I really really wanted to love Bagel King. Everything from its divey location by a convenient store, to its nostalgic photos and vibe, I was ready to be obsessed. Things I loved were the great array of baked good options including potato knish, hamantaschen, and cinnamon buns. I love that you can also buy their homemade cream cheese and whipped butter spreads too! Unfortunately, this egg and cheese bagel sandwich was pretty bland. They microwaved the eggs, which weren't seasoned at all, and the provolone I added (a premium substitution for American cheese) was equally lackluster. The blueberry bagel itself was slim and pillowy, and probably fabulous with cream cheese (given the saltiness of cc), but with the unseasoned eggs it fell flat. Overall, I would definitely go back and try a bagel with cream cheese, but probably would skip the egg and cheese.

i've always enjoyed my meals here. feels like a diner. the bagels & sandos are phenomenal. only qualm is that i paid $8 for potato wedges once. that one bothered me but i love it here otherwise. highly recommend visiting if you're local to the area! kindly, GTB

Pictured here is yummy bagel selection and a few flavored cream cheeses. My favorite bagel was the onion bialy. The herb and garlic cream cheese is delicious and is yummy on many things other than bagels. The egg salad was a good addition! The strawberry cream cheese isn't too sweet but def sweet on. Sweet bagel. The inside was busy and it looks like I'll have to go back to get the matzah ball soup and garlic bagel chips.

Definitely a diamond in the rough, location-wise. But the food didn't disappoint. The menu is a little hard to follow, but if you just tell them what you want, they will make it for you. The cream cheese totally made a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. If we are on that side of town in the morning again, we would go back

A diamond in the rough. The outside isn't welcoming but the cream cheese is . The bagels were fresh and the customer service was supreme . Jeffrey was passionate and informative about the food and the bagels . The shmear cream cheese is made in house with tons of flavors to choose from including there new pumpkin spice flavor for the holidays. I believe there a bit under priced considering prices surrounding the location. Bathroom was clean no complaints. Keep it up bagel king !

Was in the area so decided to give them a try. The bad part of going towards the end of their operating hours is they had limited amounts of bagel flavors, sesame, onion and everything. We ordered one sesame bagel with nova shmear, one everything bagel with nova shmear ($3.99 each), a large knish ($2.50) and coffee. They were very generous with the shmear and the bagels were fresh and tasted great. It is easy to miss them if you are not from this area, but they are located next to the Kwik Stop. The staff was friendly and very conversant.

The bagel was a bit dry, but the generous cream cheese made up for it. Still hearing good things about this eatery. I'll be back to try something new!

So good!!! They load up on the cream cheese and have lots of fun flavors. The tangy chive and dill is my favorite.

    BEC bad egg!

There's usually a line out the door. However, we never wait longer than 15 minutes to get the goods. The space is definitely small on the customer end inside. However, they have plenty of outdoor seating that's perfect for hanging out with friends on a Sunday morning. Literally one of my favorite spots. Thank you Buttermilk for being THAT girl.

I have been a Buttermilk Bakery fan for well over a decade. Until this last weekend…read more I got online at 8:15 in the morning to place my order. Each item that I selected came up with a message that read, "Our store is not currently accepting orders." I tried again a few minutes later. Then again. And again. And again. I tried to call and received a voicemail that stated a different number. At 8:50am, the option to order seemed to be back up and running. I ordered five items, including the Roasted Tomatoes & Goat Cheese Quiche. For context: I live 45 minutes away from Buttermilk Bakery. It used to be on my way to work but, as of a few years ago, that is not the case anymore. So, it is now a special occasion destination. Reserved only for weekends when I can make the trip. More context: I have been raving to one of my closet friends for years about how much I love this place. My most emphatic musings have been about the quiche. Today, since she and I were planning an afternoon poolside, I thought that I would surprise her with an assortment of Viennoiserie and other items. At 10:36am, I received a call from Buttermilk. The woman on the phone informed me that they had run out of the quiche. How?!? Once the website was working, I was able to place my order quickly and the item didn't even read, "Low stock." I know that this is a small problem in a world full of large problems, but the thing that really set me off is that when I arrived at the store, the person in line in front of me asked for the Strawberry Buttermilk Pie. He was told that they were out of stock. He was pleasant in stating that there appeared to be slices in the refrigerator case. The girl behind the register told him that they were being held for online orders. When it was my turn, I stated that no one had held my slice of quiche. She blandly said, "I am sorry," and proceeded. I then stated that I was unhappy and had driven some distance. She asked if I would like something else. I responded that the person on the phone had simply told me that I would receive a refund. I then asked for the girl to check on my refund. She said it was not processed yet. So, I said that I would wait. She needed to ask for help to process the refund. She wasn't nasty to me, but she did not care one iota. My effort and subsequent inconvenience meant nothing. I wonder if my refund would even have been processed had I not asked. My friend and I thought the pastries that we received were fine, but she is fitness-minded and was hesitant to indulge in so many carbs without the rich protein that the quiche would have provided. And, yet, more context: This happened once before. With the quiche. Maybe a year ago. Though, that time, I believe it was a butternut squash quiche. My husband needed to be in the area, so he suggested that he pick-up at Buttermilk. When he arrived, he was told that there would be no quiche. No call. No nothing. He didn't think to ask for a refund and we never received one. That time, I simply thought, "Well, accidents happen." This time, I think that I received very shoddy service. I felt very disrespected. I felt unseen. I have loved this place, but I am so disappointed.

I ordered the bacon sandwich on a jalapeño & Muenster bialy, which was delicious. My sandwich came with bacon, an over-medium egg, and smoked jalapeño cream cheese, all perfectly toasted. There were no complaints from anyone, honestly, we all ate in silence, which says a lot because we were too busy enjoying the food. The only downside is that it's not much of a dine-in spot, as they only have high-top tables and no chairs. I also got an iced cinnamon latte, which was not overly sweet and had a great espresso flavor. One of my friends ordered a hot lavender latte and really enjoyed it. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures! If we lived closer, we'd definitely come here more often.

The grilled cheese was better and had unique flavoring but still small and somewhat poor presentation. I have to give it only 3 stars because I really was not very impressed with the food.
