My family visited Sourdough Bread House for the first time on a Sunday for brunch with a friend (there were 4 of us). When we walked in, the restaurant was just starting to get busier and the staff seemed slightly unprepared for an influx of guests at that time. We stood at the door for a bit, unsure whether we were supposed to be seated, seat ourselves, or order at the counter first. If you are dining in, then they will provide table service. Once seated, we quickly decided what we wanted to order. My friend was excited to try their Turkish coffee and I was looking forward to trying their Turkish breakfast that I had heard great things about. If you love a good snack plate and enjoy nibbling on a variety of cheese, bread, fruits, veggies, etc. then the Turkish breakfast will be right up your alley. The Turkish breakfast includes cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, a cheese plate with avocado and a fried egg, tahini and molasses, jam, Nutella, local honey, fresh fruit, apricot and walnuts, olives, zahter, ezme, butter, and kaymak. It was enough food for my husband & me to share. It's also served with one glass of Turkish tea and a basket sourdough bread. They're obviously known for their fresh baked sourdough bread and it did not disappoint. I can see why their bread is so popular and it was nearly already sold out for the day. While everyone we encountered was very friendly, the service was a little spotty, and no one ever came back to check on us once the food came. They forgot to bring the tea and Turkish coffee for my friend. Once we walked up to the counter to remind them, they brought it very quickly. No one ever came with the check, so we ended up paying at the counter. Not sure if that's the normal process, but it was unclear. Overall, we did enjoy it, but maybe it was just an off day from a service stand point.
I was able to try the lemon cookies at an event and they were delicious. I was only able to snap this picture of the menu before indulging but they looked similar to the chocolate in visual appearance despite the difference in its yellow color. If you love lemon bars, then the lemon cookies are for you. It's basically a lemon bar in cookie form. The lemon flavor was very rich while the cookie was soft in texture but firm in shape.

We had such a great breakfast at Sourdough Bread House! The bread is amazing and we enjoyed everything we got. We split the Avocado Breakfast Panini and the Menemen with Soudjouk. The Avocado Breakfast Panini is made on two thick pieces of sourdough, with avocado, eggs, and cheddar. It is way bigger than I was expecting, and so yummy! The bread was really the star and I am still thinking about the bread. You also get a small plate with about four pieces of fruit. The Menemen was also fabulous! It featured lots of fresh ingredients and I loved the flavor. It was also served with some slices of sourdough and jam & butter. It also comes with a small plate of fruit. All of the workers were super friendly, and even though it was crowded when we went, we had great service. It has a cozy and lively feel inside, and it felt so welcoming. You can also buy loaves of the sourdough, and order special flavors of sourdough loaves. We will definitely be back, I am still drooling over the bread!
My best friend and I stopped in for breakfast and we finally got to visit Sourdough Bread. She went with the unsweetened iced tea and while I did the waffle ($11). The waffle was tasty and so filling. I was able to taste a bite of each of my bestie's meal: the hummus was amazing as was the salmon and lox, the avocado could have used a bit of red onion bits for a bit more bite but it was also tasty. Our server took our orders and brought them out pretty quickly. The service was good, they basically left us alone once the food was presented.
Would absolutely come back. Great food, great service, and great vibes. Food: Everything was delicious! We tried several breakfast items and every single one was amazing. The eggs were cheesy and perfectly cooked not dry at all! The fresh bread was incredible, and dipping it into the ezme was a must have choice. I also had the Turkish tea and coffee, both of which were rich, and spot on. Vibes: Relaxed and cozy, great for small to medium sized groups. It does get busy, and since you pick your own table, it can be a little tricky if you're coming with a larger group. But overall the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and perfect for a chill breakfast. Service: Excellent! Our waitress gave phenomenal recommendations. I usually ask the staff what their favorites are, and she delivered everything she suggested was a hit for me and my friends. Owners and staff were helpful, and attentive without being pushy.

The service was fantastic, with our server checking on us just enough (not too little, not too much). My husband went with the Menemen with Soudjouk -- scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, tomatoes and sausage. It came with a huge slice of sourdough and their butter & jam. He gave me a bite of everything and it was to die for. I went with avocado toast (I know, very millennial of me) and it was gorgeous and so delicious. I really want to come back and get the sourdough bread plate -- basically 2 pieces of sourdough cut in half with various spreads! I saw someone else order it and knew it had to be my next thing to try! There were others sitting and ordering from their table, but there was also many coming in and just grabbing a loaf of sourdough to go! They have a whole bread wall at the front, so of course we had to get a loaf for home. I can't wait to go back!
This spot was so cozy and personal, I felt like part of the family! Food was delicious and made fresh, and there is lots of seating inside.
I love this concept: bake great sourdough bread, and then put stuff on it! We went for lunch and had the Sourdough Bread Plate and the Cold Meat Plate. Both were excellent. I particularly loved the ezme, a somewhat spicy nut mixture that came with both. Service was friendly, and the place was spotless. I also got their almond cake to go. It had some yummy Turkish spices in the blend. The place is a bit hard to get to, as no matter which way you go you're going to need to make a tricky U-turn either coming or going, but it's worth the effort!
Heyyyyyyy you guyyyys! Have been intrigued to try this spot bc I love sourdough. This is Turkish cuisine, a bit pricy but the portions are huge!! So shareable for sure, we had an American breakfast, a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich and an avocado and egg panini. All were tasty, fresh tasting ingredients, made to order. Overall it was a 7 out of 10 for our party of 4. Service was great, decor was nice, all was very clean and welcoming. The Turkish coffee was like an espresso and it was delicious!!
I don't understand how they make their scrambled eggs with cheese SO darn good!!! They somehow keep the eggs soft scrambled style while melting all the cheeses (3 kinds) so you can't even tell there's cheese in there. It must be a Turkish way to prepare the eggs. Every time I come here I want to buy a loaf of bread. It is just so good. Service is a little slow bc I don't think there's a ton of staff- however they're very nice and it honestly never is a problem. Inside, it's super bright and cheery in there. If you're in the area you definitely should check this place out- and if you are curious what a Turkish breakfast it- this is a great place to try one out!
We stumbled upon this hidden gem, a Turkish breakfast and bakery restaurant, and we're so glad we did! The name hints at their specialty, delicious sourdough bread!! My friend and I ordered the Turkish breakfast platter, which came with a variety of dishes, and added we added an extra cheese plate to enjoy. This was the perfect way to try a little bit of everything. The Turkish tea served alongside was a lovely touch and complemented the meal nicely. Service is attentive and ambiance is similar to a quiet cafe! Just a heads up, you pay at the counter when you are done! I totally recommend to skip the next chain restaurant you want to go to for breakfast and give this place a try! You won't be disappointed.
I visited Sourdough bread House back in the day when they were in Maitland and was pleasantly surprised by their new, larger space. The food was just as good as I remembered from a few years ago. It can be difficult to find consistency in restaurants these days, so I really appreciate that the quality hasn't changed. It's nice to have a spot like Sourdough to add variety to the rotation of mostly American breakfast spots. I ordered the Sourdough Bread Plate, which is a large portion. Even though it's listed on the lunch menu, I was still able to order it for breakfast. Their bread is incredible, and everything tasted so fresh! The ezme is a wonderful addition to add to the avocado and labneh toasts. I also tried the Turkish coffee, but as someone who doesn't drink black coffee, it wasn't quite for me. I would recommend it mainly to those who enjoy strong, black coffee, though it was a nice touch that it came with a Turkish delight! My only minor critique is that the staff weren't around very much. Our server checked in on us once, and after waiting a bit for someone to bring the check, we eventually just walked up to the counter to pay. Nonetheless, everyone was very friendly! read more
Delicious Sourdough bread, and comfortable seating space, they also have a side area to purchase baked goods. The servers were very nice and it did take a bit of time for our food to arrive but it was worth the wait. They have a breakfast and lunch menu. The bread was served with a sour cherry jam and butter which was amazing and not overly sweet, and paired well with the chewy slight crisp texture of the bread. Kid menu - honestly very simple but also a good portion. The server brought me a side of maple syrup for the pancake; the pancake was thick and on the drier side. The egg was cooked well, with a bit of runny yolk which I enjoyed alot. Menemen Soujok plate - a flavorful dish with the peppers and tomatoes and the soujok (turkish sausage) was peppery but very good. The scrambled eggs were wonderful. This place was so delicious! The sourdough bread was my favorite part, with the crunch of it and the fluff. The turkish coffee was also strong for how small the cup was, with a little turkish delight to take the edge off. The bacon was beef, which was nice. Overall, the food was delicious. However, the service wasn't the best, there was about 3 customers in the restaurant when I went, but the server left all of us when we had to pay, leaving all of us to stand in a line waiting to pay. For a weekday, that felt a little odd. I think the food definitely makes up for it. read more

I'm so glad my friend and I stumbled across this place! They had breakfast and lunch which all looked so good. The restaurant felt cozy as well. My friend ordered the Philly cheesesteak and I ordered the chicken Philly cheesesteak. The bread was so soft and the flavor was really good. Only nit picky thing I have is that the crust was tough to chew through after a couple of bites. I would definitely go back again though and try another plate. When we checked out from the place, we ordered some cookies to go and I will say my double chocolate chip cookie was delicious with coffee later that day. Staff was so friendly and attentive as well. read more

Delicious Food, Great Service & Cozy Ambiance! Stopped by this spot and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too busy. The food was absolutely delicious, and their sourdough is the star of the show--soft, flavorful, and incorporated into every meal. I tried the Sourdough Bread Plate and the Avocado Breakfast Panini. The bread plate was amazing, offering a variety of flavors that kept every bite interesting. The panini was also really good, with a generous portion, though it didn't have the same flavor variety as the bread plate. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a great place to sit and enjoy a meal. On top of that, the service was excellent--our server was friendly and gave great recommendations. Definitely a place worth checking out if you love fresh sourdough and a relaxed dining experience. read more

The best sourdough I have ever had. This place is worth the hype! Food is absolutely delicious and fantastic, full of flavor. Their Sourdough is to die for, i brought it back to my family and we ate the whole loaf within 3 days. I picked up office lunch for my coworkers and they came out of their meeting to share with me how much they loved it. Vibe of the place is so cozy and comforting, I could sit there all day and just enjoy the smell of the bread and the ambiance. I will be coming back! Thank you for serving delicious food! P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that. read more

Could not recommend the avocado toast more! It was delicious, and the sourdough had crispy edges and a soft middle- so fresh. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice, nothing crazy. Turkish sausage was very similar to a chorizo, and while it looks like a coffee shop, they only have regular and Turkish coffee... no lattes. Great find. read more

1st Time having Turkish Food! I was concerned about the lack of protein at first ( at least in comparison to an American breakfast) , but it was quite filling. It's nice to enjoy how other cultures dine . The smaller slower bites is actually more beneficial for digestion. read more

Great food. Quaint little bakery. Very busy on a Saturday morning, around Brunch time, but we were seated quickly. I had the Turkish Breakfast and it was very filling. My daughter had to help me finish it so it was a lot of food. read more

Stopped by here one day randomly and wow did this place impress me. The bread was so freaking good. I could have just sat there and ate the whole sour dough loaf by itself. The avo toast was delicious and Turkish coffee was great. Can't wait to go back read more

I've loved this company since their location in Maitland. The menu didn't change much, but they added some breads and pastries! This location is much more spacious and modern looking then the last location! I was excited to give this location a try. The special of the day board was a nice touch! I got the sourdough bread plate, which was delicious as always and the Turkish coffee. The waitress was very sweet and patient with my guest and I ordering and being indecisive (too many amazing options haha). At the end, I also got a slice of Lavender Banana Bread to take home. It was delicious! Definitely recommend for a nice brunch or light and healthy lunch! read more
Food is tasty!! My partner and I both liked our choices a lot. I got the "American Breakfast" and he got the "Avocado Toast." The bread was delicious. Our server was super sweet but seemed new so we had to keep asking for stuff/calling her back to the table for things we were missing. Also note, they charge 4% extra on your bill if you pay with card. We will be back when we want a tasty breakfast/brunch. Prefer this wayyy over something like Keke's or Metro. read more

The place is immaculate. The bread is phenomenal and everything else on your menu is pretty good. The only heads up I will give you is the Turkish coffee if you're not familiar with it it is a little bit bitter. I ordered that with recommended platter and was so taken it back by the taste. Thank goodness they are used to peoples reaction like this and did not charge me for it, but I did feel bad. Other than that all the food was delicious and I even purchased a sliced loaf and homemade jam to go. Great breakfast spot for something out of the ordinary read more

What's going on with this place? the last 3 times i've been here during business hours they've been closed.
I think they're short staffed. When I went there was only one person working the register, taking everyone's orders and bringing the food out from the back.
