If you want the most delicious pastries you've ever had in your life, Buttermilk is your girl. My go to is the Bacon Cheddar Pull Apart Bread. However, they always have fun creations popping up in their case. Some fan favorites are the Mango Sticky Rice Tart and literally any of their pop tarts. The staff is kind and efficient. There's usually a line out the door. However, we never wait longer than 15 minutes to get the goods. The space is definitely small on the customer end inside. However, they have plenty of outdoor seating that's perfect for hanging out with friends on a Sunday morning. Literally one of my favorite spots. Thank you Buttermilk for being THAT girl. read more

I have been a Buttermilk Bakery fan for well over a decade. Until this last weekend. I got online at 8:15 in the morning to place my order. Each item that I selected came up with a message that read, "Our store is not currently accepting orders." I tried again a few minutes later. Then again. And again. And again. I tried to call and received a voicemail that stated a different number. At 8:50am, the option to order seemed to be back up and running. I ordered five items, including the Roasted Tomatoes & Goat Cheese Quiche. For context: I live 45 minutes away from Buttermilk Bakery. It used to be on my way to work but, as of a few years ago, that is not the case anymore. So, it is now a special occasion destination. Reserved only for weekends when I can make the trip. More context: I have been raving to one of my closet friends for years about how much I love this place. My most emphatic musings have been about the quiche. Today, since she and I were planning an afternoon poolside, I thought that I would surprise her with an assortment of Viennoiserie and other items. At 10:36am, I received a call from Buttermilk. The woman on the phone informed me that they had run out of the quiche. How?!? Once the website was working, I was able to place my order quickly and the item didn't even read, "Low stock." I know that this is a small problem in a world full of large problems, but the thing that really set me off is that when I arrived at the store, the person in line in front of me asked for the Strawberry Buttermilk Pie. He was told that they were out of stock. He was pleasant in stating that there appeared to be slices in the refrigerator case. The girl behind the register told him that they were being held for online orders. When it was my turn, I stated that no one had held my slice of quiche. She blandly said, "I am sorry," and proceeded. I then stated that I was unhappy and had driven some distance. She asked if I would like something else. I responded that the person on the phone had simply told me that I would receive a refund. I then asked for the girl to check on my refund. She said it was not processed yet. So, I said that I would wait. She needed to ask for help to process the refund. She wasn't nasty to me, but she did not care one iota. My effort and subsequent inconvenience meant nothing. I wonder if my refund would even have been processed had I not asked. My friend and I thought the pastries that we received were fine, but she is fitness-minded and was hesitant to indulge in so many carbs without the rich protein that the quiche would have provided. And, yet, more context: This happened once before. With the quiche. Maybe a year ago. Though, that time, I believe it was a butternut squash quiche. My husband needed to be in the area, so he suggested that he pick-up at Buttermilk. When he arrived, he was told that there would be no quiche. No call. No nothing. He didn't think to ask for a refund and we never received one. That time, I simply thought, "Well, accidents happen." This time, I think that I received very shoddy service. I felt very disrespected. I felt unseen. I have loved this place, but I am so disappointed. read more

Small and cute bakery with a great variety of interesting flavors! They definitely sell out the most popular items fast, especially on the weekends, but we arrived 30 minutes before they closed with absolutely no expectations and still scored a fantastic spread! So even if you're late to the party, I still say it's worth a stop in. Flavor creations like roasted shiitake croissant with gochujang and scallions, katchapuri egg croissant, and mortadela hot honey snails have caught my eye. This visit I tried the quiche with roasted tomatoes and goat cheese, orange chocolate tea cake, salty malty financier, and mango lime cake donut, and every one was fresh, unique, and full of flavor. There is no inside seating but a good amount of outside seating, and there is a ramp from the parking lot to the seating area for those who need it. The parking lot is behind the building, and the entrance to the parking lot is to the left of the building. read more

small bakery in Winter Park! Their menu rotates weekly and they have lots of seasonal menu items each week. Everything is extremely fresh. Lots of outdoor seating! Quick service style bakery so come prepared to buy and then leave, but like I said there were plenty of seats outside to sit! The only thing I would criticize is the customer service, I wish they were more willing to help with recommendations and were a bit friendlier. read more

There's always a line out the door at Buttermilk Bakery, but don't be afraid to hop in! The line moves fairly quickly, with the staff being super efficient. You can order online, but sometimes not all of the items are listed, so I usually order in person. They bake everything fresh daily, so I don't mind waiting for it. Their kouign amann is a must have, with the perfectly caramelized, flaky texture. The Mexican street corn croissant and tomato pesto & ricotta croissant were both well balanced takes on the classic, and their donuts are flavorful as well. Note the seating is extremely limited (all outdoors) and would recommend street parking, since their parking lot is always full. read more

Rating Buttermilk Bakery at a 2.5 stars, though I previously would have rated it 4.5. This used to be a hidden gem many years ago during my nearly 20 years of living in Orlando and because of how amazing they are/can be, everyone has learned of them, rightfully so! I'm honestly heartbroken to write this review. What used to be my favorite bakery in the Orlando/WP area fell very short during my recent visit. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm hoping it was just a fluke because I'd love to return and have the experience I used to! The variety of their sweet and savory pastries is incredible and it's hard not to get excited looking at the display. I wanted to order one of everything. I went with my husband and our friends, and we all agreed the pastries would absolutely have been stellar if a warm-up option were available. Unfortunately, everything we had was cold and tasted stale :( this left us very disappointed. I asked a staff member if it was possible to warm up the cheddar potato pastry, but was told, "No, not right now. Sorry." I wasn't sure if warming items isn't offered at all or if their equipment wasn't working during the time of our visit. The line can be long but it moves quickly. Staff members are friendly, and there's a convenient water and utensils station. I do think it might help to offer a microwave or toaster for self-service since staff understandably can be busy. I love the outdoor deck! It's really nice, especially during a beautiful day with lovely weather. I appreciate that they have high chairs. My friends and I are all parents now, and those little conveniences truly matter. If I had one main suggestion, it would be to offer a way to warm the pastries. I truly think that small change would make a big difference and have people (like us) eager to come back. read more

I have not been to this bakery before but always pass by it. They are very busy! There was a line out the door but it went by quick. The staff is super friendly. There is very limited seating outside but the weather was perfect and we were able to snag a table. I enjoyed the baked goods but in all honesty I thought they'd be a little richer in flavor. A friend and I shared both sweet and savory items and I don't know if it's that in my mind some of the items would be better warm but they were okay. I definitely want to give them another try, as the presentation was very beautiful and maybe it was just an off day or they were at the tail end. read more

We visited buttermilk bakery on a Saturday morning after going to see the manatees at blue springs. We've been looking for a good bakery or breakfast spot to hit after the springs for a while, and I think we found it. I got the caramelized onion garlic braid croissant. The texture of it was soft and flaky, and it was honestly delicious. It had a solid garlic flavor and the pepitas on top were really nice too, but I found that they could've gone heavier on the onion. This is where I docked a star because I'm a big proponent to committing to the flavor profile. My companion got the cinnamon roll bread pudding croissant, and this thing was magical. The taste and texture were fantastic and the icing was sooooo good. I can't say it was really giving bread pudding, but it was still delicious. The iced tea and coffee we got were also delicious. The staff there were also super friendly and quick, and they even threw in a few donut holes since it was our first time! I'm excited to go back here and try more of their stuff. read more

Made a donut run this morning! As always the service and vibe here is second to none. What blew me away this morning was... the Vanilla Sprinkle Brioche Donut... I feel so basic. 10/10, only a "Hot Donuts Now" (my favorite) sign could even slow me down on my way there! read more

Go-to for breakfast on-the-go. We were heading to the beach and needed quick homemade gourmet breakfast treats. We ordered the sugar donut, churro twist, the chocolate banana muffin and ham and cheese pull apart. I don't recommend the bacon/ cheddar pull apart, it was too hard for my style. But everything else was great. Service was amazing. No rush to take your order. It is a tight squeeze to get in line to give your order. read more

Buttermilk Bakery in Winter Park is an absolute gem. Everything they make is packed with flavor and clearly crafted with care--you can taste the quality in every bite. The galettes are a standout for me; perfectly balanced, buttery, and impossible to get tired of. And the donuts? Unreal. Soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgent. This is one of those places that never disappoints and keeps you coming back. A must-visit if you love great baking done right. The bakery itself feels like a cozy home. Most of the functional space is prioritized for the baking operations, so it's cool to see where the magic happens. You're always greeted with a smile after you've perused the day's offerings. Pro tip - order ahead online to make sure you get exactly what you want! read more

Food: I feel that when you get there early, the food is good but toward the end, it can be cold. If you like it cold, you are good. I like mine toasted. It just makes it taste fresh. I will say that they have a good danishes. Service: it's a pick and pay. I asked if my croissant could be toasted but they said no. It would be nice if they would toast it for you. Ambiance: it's a cute little place with no indoor seating, but you can have a spot outside that is covered. read more

This is my favorite local bakery! We stopped by to get a box of goodies for the office and loved the whole experience. The shop is cute and charming. The staff are welcoming and fast. The pastries are gorgeous and so fresh. We picked out several items: the guava cheesecake pop tart, lemon lavender pop tart, cinnamon morning roll, lemon poppyseed muffin, and the banana muffin. I look forward to my trips to Central Florida a few times a year to indulge in all things Buttermilk Bakery makes. The tarts I've had are always luscious & superb with so much flavor. The various croissants are crispy & flaky on the outside and flavorful with the perfect balance of flavor from various ingredients. My favorite croissant I've ever had is the Matcha croissant. Hopefully one day, they will make it again. read more

I'm from Jacksonville and stumbled on Buttermilk Bakery while going down a Reddit rabbit hole looking for "the best dough in Florida" -- and wow, Reddit actually came through for once! This place is small but mighty -- super organized, cute outdoor seating, and the smell alone could make you spend your whole paycheck. When I showed up, it was packed, which pretty much confirmed I was in the right spot. I tried a few things (because self-control is overrated), and every single one was incredible. Flaky, buttery, perfectly baked -- honestly, they could teach a masterclass in how to make carbs magical. If you're anywhere near Winter Park, do yourself a favor and swing by. I haven't had Buttermilk in ages, literal years, and recently stopped when they hosted a local coffee pop up. The line was long but moved quickly and the service was friendly. Myself and a friend split several items, both sweet and savory. The items all looked picture perfect but they were just okay, in my opinion. The textures were good but the items lacked flavor. My favorite item was the focaccia, which was very tasty. I'll definitely give it another whirl, but I was a bit disappointed. read more

As soon as I walked in, the smell of this bakery transported me back to Paris. Their pastries are handcrafted with care and absolutely delicious. I had one of the best chocolate croissant I've ever had in the States. Offerings seem to go quick and may sell out of items before close. Small indoor lobby with just enough room for 2-3 guests to queue, abundant outdoor seating around the side. Looking forward to stopping by more often and staying awhile. read more

Buttermilk bakery has been on my bakery bucket list and I finally crossed it off this morning! It's a small batch bakery, so we wanted to get there early before anything sold out. We got there around 10am and there was a small line inside. I was indecisive if I wanted to place an online order ahead of time or order in-store and I'm glad I waited to order in store because I was able to take a few minutes to scan over all of the items made to order. The options are endless and the bakery smelled so delicious. There's some outdoor seating, but none inside. I decided to order the cheddar bacon pull apart croissant and I was very pleased. It was very flavorful and very filling. I wasn't in the mood for any sweets today, but I definitely will be going back to try the guava pastries and maybe even a peanut butter cookie. The staff were very sweet and there was convenient street parking right out front. read more

This is the bakery is what you've been looking for. Flaky tender, buttery, croissants. Incredible specialty flavors, decadent cake donuts and pastries. The team is always helpful and ready to answer questions about their selection that day. Be prepared they sell out of things quickly and once they are gone they are gone for the day. And doughnuts are weekends only. But that's how you know you're getting quality, fresh baking. So go early if you can. The shop front is small, and cute, so no indoor seating but they have a lovely porch outside. And when the weather is nice it's a perfect place to eat your pastry and relax for a bit. If you're looking for a recommendation on what to get I suggest the Kouign-amann (queen), absolutely delicious it's buttery, sweet and oh so flaky. My absolute favorite bakery by far in Orlando. Every French person I know recommends this as the most accurate representation of quality croissants from back home. They have tons of options from savory to sweet. A lot of stuff is baked with almond flour so fyi just ask in case you have any allergies. I personally love their croissant tarts that have fun toppings. Their cheese croissant loafs are always to die for. Everything is so buttery light and fluffy. I have never had a better croissant. Wish I could come here everyday! Everything is about $5 too so pretty reasonable prices for the quality and taste profiles you are getting. Lots of seasonal or limited edition items along with some that are there everyday. Really something for everyone no matter what you're after. read more

Our spring 407 TasteBuds Bike to Brunch day included a ride on the Orlando Urban Trail to Buttermilk Bakery and eating our treats at Mead Botanical Gardens. The variety of options at Buttermilk Bakery made it so hard for us to choose, but the staff was gracious with their descriptions and recommendations. We grabbed a variety of savory and sweet items, favorites including the Potato & Rosemary Bechamel Croissant Tart, Bacon Cheddar Pull Apart Croissant, Khachapouri Egg Croissant Tart, Caramelized Garlic Braid Croissant, Asparagus, Garlic Cream & Parmesan Croissant Tart, Mortadella & Hot Honey Croissant Snail, Blueberry Donut, & Guava Cheesecake Pop Tart. The pastries were a perfect balance of textures with a good flake while still being soft & buttery and plenty of filling/topping with flavorful, quality ingredients. They were reasonably priced to acknowledge the high quality ingredients and baking skills, but allow for multiple to be purchased on a budget. Though we opted to bring them to Mead Botanical Garden for a picnic, there were tables at the storefront and a covered patio to the side of the bakery as well as a public park behind (uncovered) for plenty of options to eat while there. read more

Sunday breakfasts are for pastries in my household. These pastries are HUGE and DELICIOUS. Everything is made fresh in-house. The staff is very knowledgeable on the pastries they have. The only downside is that there's no inside seating (only outside seating) and it's a very small bakery. It can get so hot in Florida, but the outside seating is a vibe when the weather is nice out! I typically don't like eating a hot pastry in hot weather, so we took them home to enjoy this time :) It was a bit expensive (I feel like everything is in Winter Park though), but the quality of the pastries is so worth the price. The savory pastries had more filling/contents than the sweet pastries (there wasn't much chocolate in my chocolate cherry pastry). I would come back for savory pastries and to try one of the iced teas! read more

My mom and I visited this spot on a trip to Orlando and really enjoyed everything we got - lemon/lavender pop tart, bacon cheddar croissant pull apart, mortadella hot honey croissant snail, kouign amann, strawberry brie croissant, and raspberry almond bostock. Don't judge us! The laminated dough in the croissant-type pastries was flakey and buttery as it should be. The crust on the poptart was also really light and flakey. We loved the hint of lavender flavor, that it wasn't overpowering and too floral. I'd never had a bostock before, so that was really intriguing, sort of like a lazy almond croissant - very yummy with a great texture. My personally favorite was the snail croissant w/ mortadella and hot honey! Really great flavor combination spiraled in a tasty laminated dough. I wish I lived in the area so I could return! read more
