However, they always have fun creations popping up in their case. Some fan favorites are the Mango Sticky Rice Tart and literally any of their pop tarts. The staff is kind and efficient. There's usually a line out the door. However, we never wait longer than 15 minutes to get the goods. The space is definitely small on the customer end inside. Each item that I selected came up with a message that read, "Our store is not currently accepting orders." I tried again a few minutes later. Then again. And again. And again. I tried to call and received a voicemail that stated a different number. At 8:50am, the option to order seemed to be back up and running. I ordered five items, including the Roasted Tomatoes & Goat Cheese Quiche. For context: I live 45 minutes away from Buttermilk Bakery. It used to be on my way to work but, as of a few years ago, that is not the case anymore. So, it is now a special occasion destination. Reserved only for weekends when I can make the trip. More context: I have been raving to one of my closet friends for years about how much I love this place. My most emphatic musings have been about the quiche. Today, since she and I were planning an afternoon poolside, I thought that I would surprise her with an assortment of Viennoiserie and other items. At 10:36am, I received a call from Buttermilk. The woman on the phone informed me that they had run out of the quiche. How?!? Once the website was working, I was able to place my order quickly and the item didn't even read, "Low stock." I know that this is a small problem in a world full of large problems, but the thing that really set me off is that when I arrived at the store, the person in line in front of me asked for the Strawberry Buttermilk Pie. He was told that they were out of stock. He was pleasant in stating that there appeared to be slices in the refrigerator case. The girl behind the register told him that they were being held for online orders. When it was my turn, I stated that no one had held my slice of quiche. She blandly said, "I am sorry," and proceeded. I then stated that I was unhappy and had driven some distance. She asked if I would like something else. I responded that the person on the phone had simply told me that I would receive a refund. I then asked for the girl to check on my refund. She said it was not processed yet. So, I said that I would wait. She needed to ask for help to process the refund. She wasn't nasty to me, but she did not care one iota. My effort and subsequent inconvenience meant nothing. I wonder if my refund would even have been processed had I not asked. My friend and I thought the pastries that we received were fine, but she is fitness-minded and was hesitant to indulge in so many carbs without the rich protein that the quiche would have provided. And, yet, more context: This happened once before. With the quiche. Maybe a year ago. Though, that time, I believe it was a butternut squash quiche. My husband needed to be in the area, so he suggested that he pick-up at Buttermilk. When he arrived, he was told that there would be no quiche. No call. No nothing. He didn't think to ask for a refund and we never received one. That time, I simply thought, "Well, accidents happen." This time, I think that I received very shoddy service. I felt very disrespected. I felt unseen. I have loved this place, but I am so disappointed. read more

Small and cute bakery with a great variety of interesting flavors! They definitely sell out the most popular items fast, especially on the weekends, but we arrived 30 minutes before they closed with absolutely no expectations and still scored a fantastic spread! So even if you're late to the party, I still say it's worth a stop in. Flavor creations like roasted shiitake croissant with gochujang and scallions, katchapuri egg croissant, and mortadela hot honey snails have caught my eye. This visit I tried the quiche with roasted tomatoes and goat cheese, orange chocolate tea cake, salty malty financier, and mango lime cake donut, and every one was fresh, unique, and full of flavor. There's always a line out the door at Buttermilk Bakery, but don't be afraid to hop in! The line moves fairly quickly, with the staff being super efficient. You can order online, but sometimes not all of the items are listed, so I usually order in person. They bake everything fresh daily, so I don't mind waiting for it. Their kouign amann is a must have, with the perfectly caramelized, flaky texture. The Mexican street corn croissant and tomato pesto & ricotta croissant were both well balanced takes on the classic, and their donuts are flavorful as well. This used to be a hidden gem many years ago during my nearly 20 years of living in Orlando and because of how amazing they are/can be, everyone has learned of them, rightfully so! I'm honestly heartbroken to write this review. What used to be my favorite bakery in the Orlando/WP area fell very short during my recent visit. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm hoping it was just a fluke because I'd love to return and have the experience I used to! The variety of their sweet and savory pastries is incredible and it's hard not to get excited looking at the display. I wanted to order one of everything. I went with my husband and our friends, and we all agreed the pastries would absolutely have been stellar if a warm-up option were available. Unfortunately, everything we had was cold and tasted stale :( this left us very disappointed. I asked a staff member if it was possible to warm up the cheddar potato pastry, but was told, "No, not right now. Sorry." I wasn't sure if warming items isn't offered at all or if their equipment wasn't working during the time of our visit. The line can be long but it moves quickly. Staff members are friendly, and there's a convenient water and utensils station. I do think it might help to offer a microwave or toaster for self-service since staff understandably can be busy. I love the outdoor deck! It's really nice, especially during a beautiful day with lovely weather. I appreciate that they have high chairs. My friends and I are all parents now, and those little conveniences truly matter. If I had one main suggestion, it would be to offer a way to warm the pastries. There is very limited seating outside but the weather was perfect and we were able to snag a table. I enjoyed the baked goods but in all honesty I thought they'd be a little richer in flavor. We visited buttermilk bakery on a Saturday morning after going to see the manatees at blue springs. We've been looking for a good bakery or breakfast spot to hit after the springs for a while, and I think we found it. I got the caramelized onion garlic braid croissant. The texture of it was soft and flaky, and it was honestly delicious. It had a solid garlic flavor and the pepitas on top were really nice too, but I found that they could've gone heavier on the onion. This is where I docked a star because I'm a big proponent to committing to the flavor profile. My companion got the cinnamon roll bread pudding croissant, and this thing was magical. The taste and texture were fantastic and the icing was sooooo good. I can't say it was really giving bread pudding, but it was still delicious. The iced tea and coffee we got were also delicious. This is my favorite local bakery! We stopped by to get a box of goodies for the office and loved the whole experience. The shop is cute and charming. The staff are welcoming and fast. As soon as I walked in, the smell of this bakery transported me back to Paris. Their pastries are handcrafted with care and absolutely delicious. I had one of the best chocolate croissant I've ever had in the States. Offerings seem to go quick and may sell out of items before close. We got there around 10am and there was a small line inside. I was indecisive if I wanted to place an online order ahead of time or order in-store and I'm glad I waited to order in store because I was able to take a few minutes to scan over all of the items made to order. The options are endless and the bakery smelled so delicious. There's some outdoor seating, but none inside. I decided to order the cheddar bacon pull apart croissant and I was very pleased. It was very flavorful and very filling. I wasn't in the mood for any sweets today, but I definitely will be going back to try the guava pastries and maybe even a peanut butter cookie. The team is always helpful and ready to answer questions about their selection that day. Be prepared they sell out of things quickly and once they are gone they are gone for the day. Sunday breakfasts are for pastries in my household. These pastries are HUGE and DELICIOUS. Everything is made fresh in-house. The staff is very knowledgeable on the pastries they have. The only downside is that there's no inside seating (only outside seating) and it's a very small bakery. It can get so hot in Florida, but the outside seating is a vibe when the weather is nice out! I typically don't like eating a hot pastry in hot weather, so we took them home to enjoy this time :) It was a bit expensive (I feel like everything is in Winter Park though), but the quality of the pastries is so worth the price. The savory pastries had more filling/contents than the sweet pastries (there wasn't much chocolate in my chocolate cherry pastry). Don't judge us! The laminated dough in the croissant-type pastries was flakey and buttery as it should be. The crust on the poptart was also really light and flakey. We loved the hint of lavender flavor, that it wasn't overpowering and too floral. I'd never had a bostock before, so that was really intriguing, sort of like a lazy almond croissant - very yummy with a great texture.
