    Vietnamese coffee with milk

Black Phin is a Vietnamese coffee bar inside The Harmon (the former Lombardi Seafood warehouse). They have extended evening hours until 9pm and a cozy seating area inside, which is nice for those who like a third space hang out after work on a weekday. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I asked the employee what he would recommend that was iced and not too sweet. He suggested the Vietnamese Coffee with Milk, and I subbed Whole milk for Oat milk. The coffee had a milder taste than regular drip coffee, and was smoother overall. Very refreshing!

This coffee shop has been on my list for a while, and I can see why people rave above it! An adorable rainbow walkway welcomes you to a warehouse style entrance to a cozy cafe adorned with pottery and plants. The aesthetic was absolutely perfect for a quick break or change of scenery. I was welcomed by one of the staff who asked me if it was my first time visiting and then proceeded to explain the menu and current available offerings. It was great to see this level of passionate service from a local shop. We discussed some different options and I decided on the lemon elderflower iced espresso. It was light and refreshing - definitely a delicious summer option. Drink was 10/10 and I would definitely recommend it! I also got a honey butter croissant which was crunchy, sweet and chewy - perfectly cooked. They didn't have any matcha available when I was there but there were so many other options that it wasn't a huge concern, more just a reason to return! One note - There's not a ton of parking here so I had to wait for someone to leave to grab a spot.

I'd was interested to see what they did with the old Heavy location and I saw that they had turned into a coffee shop so I decided to check it out. Black Phin is a Vietnamese coffee shop. Upon walking in, I was surprised to see it still looked a lot like the old plant store. There was a good amount of seating throughout the main cafe space. The interior had the same furniture and still sold plants so that was really nice to see as someone who loved the old store. The baristas are always super sweet! I usually get the two younger guys when I go in and they're always so nice. They are happy to make any modifications to your drink. The menu is super limited so I always get the drip coffee with extra sweet and condensed milk. They don't really do flavorings for the coffee, but the sweet and condensed milk makes it super sweet and the perfect flavor. This place is definitely something you check out, especially if you love a basic quality drink!

    Matcha with ube cold foam

This is a great cafe, with lots of space and plants and chill music. I tried the matcha latte with ube cold foam and it was delicious. The customer service was very good, they completed my order very quickly. They have a table in the back with outlets for people who need to plug in their laptops, so I was able to get some work done. My only issue was that the seating was uncomfortable. Hopefully they update or add more comfortable seating.

This is the coffee I didn't know I needed. They serve Vietnamese drip coffee and it was so good. I had an iced coffee ( includes condensed milk) with ube cold foam. It was the perfect combination. I ended up staying longer enjoying the relaxing setting. They shared the space with a plant vendor so the space is surrounded by beautiful greenery. There were ceramics for purchase too. I need to go back and try their breakfast food items. Since this was my first time visiting, the guy at the register gave us a quick roundup of their style and popular items. This is a great spot to work too. There's plenty of parking on site which is nice compared to other areas of Winter Park.

I stopped in for a quick coffee and ended up staying longer than planned, which says a lot. Black Phin Coffee Bar has that ideal neighborhood coffee shop feel. The space is bright, clean, and inviting with a cozy plant-filled aesthetic that makes it easy to settle in. They also had cute, reasonably priced decor pieces for sale, which added a nice personal touch. I ordered: - Iced Vietnamese coffee with ube cold foam: rich espresso flavor, less sweet than the typical night market versions (which I still love), so it felt more balanced - Iced Vietnamese coffee with milk and sea salt cold foam: my favorite, creamy with that sweet-salty combo that really stands out Total came out to $18. It is a bit pricey, but honestly I could not even be mad at how delicious everything was. Service was friendly and efficient, even during a small rush. The barista took time to explain their popular drink menu, which I appreciated and made the experience feel more welcoming. Parking was easy when I visited late morning, though it may get tight during busier hours. Great spot for coffee lovers or anyone wanting something a little different. I would definitely come back to try the bites!

This spot is such a gem! Their coffee is incredible, and they have some of the best Matcha in Orlando -just look how green it is! The interior is also gorgeous - while you wait for your coffee you can peruse a selection of beautiful ceramic planters and plants for sale. The share space with a gym but you would honestly never know. You can enjoy your drink in their cozy and quiet seating area, or it's also less than five minutes from Mead botanical garden if you prefer to pick up your coffee and go on a beautiful walk.

Great newish Vietnamese coffee spot located in the old "Heavy" plant store! They have a nice area for sitting and studying, which makes it a great place to hang out for a bit. There's a solid selection of coffees along with a seasonal menu. I tried the cherry bourbon latte, it was good and not overly sweet. It wasn't super strong on flavor, but that worked well for me since I don't like drinks that are too sweet. They also offer a few small bite options, and the staff was very nice. I'd definitely come back here!

Black Phin is situated in the most amazing co-op space that's shared with a place that sells plants, so it's like you're walking into a lush garden. The man behind the counter was extremely friendly and, since I had never been there before, spent the time explaining the difference in all the types of Vietnamese coffee. He offered recommendations as well. In the end I chose an iced coffee with Ube cold foam. It was absolutely delicious! The coffee was extra strong which I loved! The Ube added the perfect sweetness and actually had a strong Ube flavor. I loved everything about my experience here and especially loved the coffee so I will definitely be back!

Not my first time drinking Black Phin but it was my first time going to the new space but not my first time in that space, as I had been here many times when it was The Heavy. Either way, it was soooooooo great! First, love that there is parking available near the building. It looks like a warehouse but when you walk in, you are transported to a cozy space full of natural light, plants and amazing merchandise. Yes, I purchased a trinket tray and wanted to buy 100 more things! There are tables throughout to sit and it looks like a place you could work remotely from. I didn't check if they had wifi but I'm assuming they did with the amount of people on laptops when we stopped in. I ordered a Iced Ca Phe with Ube Cold foam and OMG I loved it so much! It was sooooo delicious. Although I did not order food, one of the people we were with did and it looked and smelled so good that it's definitely on my to-do list for the next time I go there. And believe me, there will absolutely be a next time!

Black Phin Coffee is such a hidden gem if you're looking for a cozy Vietnamese café with personality. The moment you walk in, the space feels warm and inviting -- lots of greenery, cute décor pieces, and little souvenir items displayed throughout the shop that give it a unique cultural touch. The aesthetic is thoughtfully done without feeling over-the-top, making it both relaxing and visually appealing. There's plenty of seating, so it's easy to settle in whether you're studying solo, catching up with friends, or just enjoying a slow coffee break. One of my favorite parts was their Vietnamese iced coffee. It's strong and flavorful like a traditional phin brew, but the specialty foam they add on top gives it a creamy, slightly sweet finish that makes each sip feel elevated. You can tell they put effort into both presentation and taste. The menu also offers a nice variety if you're in the mood to explore beyond the classics. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive vibe. Even when it gets a little busy, the atmosphere still feels calm enough to focus -- definitely a great study spot or casual hangout. And if you love aesthetic cafés, there are so many Instagram-worthy corners with natural light, plants, and cute details that make the space feel lively yet cozy. Overall, Black Phin Coffee is a place I'd keep coming back to -- great drinks, a spacious environment, and the perfect mix of chill vibes and stylish décor.

Black Phin is definitely a vibe, not my vibe but a vibe. It's located in like a warehouse. Soon as you walk in there are plants and plenty of seating. It seemed very cluttered for my liking. I got an iced Vietnamese coffee with milk and ube foam on top. It was SO delicious and very strong! I was tweaking for the rest of the day after that coffee. I also got the beef sandwich, it was good! They're games available that you can play. My friend and I played Mancala, it was so fun! I'll definitely be back for a coffee in The future!

This cute little Vietnamese coffee shop is located in the old Lombardi's Seafood building in Winter Park. It has a small parking lot and ramp access. Once inside, it showcases lush plants, ample seating area, and wooden decor that reminiscent of a cafe in some tropical country. I love the cozy atmosphere with lots of displays and their brand merchandise and pottery. The staff wasn't overly friendly, more passive, but they did their job. The drink prices are comparable to other cafes in the area. We ordered their special iced Honey Osmanthus Oolong Tea and two Vietnamese coffees. One with egg foam and the other with pandan toppings. I enjoyed my Osmanthus tea. It had the perfect balance of honey and tea. It's also rare to find Osmanthus tea on the menu! As far as the Vietnamese coffee, we're not certain it's true drip-style traditional Vietnamese. I'm assuming it is because their name is Black Phin. "Phin" is the name of the small, stainless steel Vietnamese coffee filter. Most of the new coffee shops these days tend to put a spin on the drink by using the espresso machine process and milk powder or milk product variations other than the original condensed milk. It usually has only 2 ingredients, chicory coffee in a Phin and sweetened condensed milk over ice or hot. Lately, I've been disappointed in many of the places I've ordered this drink. That being said, it was average in taste compared to other coffee shops. Next time I'll try other drinks they have to offer as a comparison. As far as pastries, they had a very small selection. I felt it is more of a place for coffee drinks and meet ups. I would definitely come back because I love supporting small local cafes and want to support Asian businesses. It is absolutely a cozy space to meet friends or on a date. Besides, any place with plants always make me feel happy!

I cannot wait to be back and try the rest of the menu. Oh and don't forget to order the fried bananas for dessert!

On the hunt to try out cuisines I don't venture in often, this local gem popped right on up. Upon entry, it was very date-night coded. With various Vietnamese and cultural decor moments and the mood lighting, it was a nice little oasis / getaway from the usual. They had a nice playlist going and there was more than enough seating. Service was phenomenal. Now, at the time of my visit, it wasn't a busy night. It was only a handful of people there. So, our waitress was able to be super attentive and was so kind to our table. Our orders came out fresh, hot and quickly! I ordered one of their pho options, and it was super flavorful. It was also quite a bit of food, so, I did have leftovers to take home and finish the following day. It held up well and it was just as good the next day as it was the night I got it. Pricing is AWESOME! They are a Michelin Bib Gourmant restaurant - which means, it is "a prestigious award recognizing restaurant that serves exceptional, high-quality food at great value." The quality of the food alongside the pricing, just makes it worthwhile. They definitely deserve the hype and rave!! By far, one of my favorite "newer" cuisine experiences I've had in quite some time.

I think any time you go to a restaurant that serves a type of ethnic cuisine, they focuses on the main or big dishes. For example, Vietnamese restaurants will always feature pho somehow and Cuban restaurants will always feature the Cuban sandwich in some capacity. However, street food or dishes that are small and meant for grab and go and sharing and to be affordable is not often featured at big sit down restaurants. The other thing is when street food is featured on a fancy sit down menu, the small plates and street food always cost more than it should in my opinion. Z Asian really surprised me in that I didn't think the prices were to unfair and it still felt elevated. They are a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. We went here for a date night after watching Obsession. By the way, the movie is one of the best horror movies of this year in my opinion and I think a lot of people's opinion. We parked in the back lot as they don't really have a whole lot of street parking. That was confusing entering the restaurant since we entered from the back and it wasn't clear if the restaurant was open or if we walked in through the wrong door. We got seated fast and the waitress was really nice and engaging. We ordered banh khot, which is basically a mini banh xeo. Banh khot is an eggy crepe mixture that is panfried into a circle and a small amount of seafood is placed into the middle of it. It's small and finger food sized and served with pickled veggies and fresh lettuce and fish sauce to drizzle or dip. My rating is a 9.5/10. It was crispy and full of flavor. We also tried the mango tofu salad. It's similar to a ceviche. This was a 9/10. It has a little heat to it but very good and not too wet. We then ordered grilled mussels with is what it sounds like. It's mussels halves grilled with fish sauce and crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. I rate this a 8/10. I never see this in restaurants. On a good day, I can crush like 20 of these and call it girl dinner. We got the grilled corn as well. This is corn kernels grilled in butter and garlic topped with Sriracha. I rate this a 6.5/10. I think it's a good street dished but it underwhelmed me because it's just the corn and there wasn't a vehicle to deliver it to my mouth. The last item we tried was the grilled chicken rice noodles. This was a flavorful dish of veggies and chicken and rice noodles that are cooked in a pan. The rating is a 8.5/10. My overall rating is 9/10. They bill was on the higher end but I felt like it was worth the food we were eating the service and ambiance.
