I really wanted to be able to give this place 5 stars. I ordered a BLT online. Hadn't had one in a while and it greatly satisfied my craving. I should have left off the side pickle because between it laying under my sandwich and the wax liner placed in the box, half of my bread was soggy when I arrived home to indulge. I had the key lime pie also, which tasted more of coconut shavings than the lime bite I was really hoping for. Also had the pride doughnut as an evening snack and it was cool. Hoping the almond croissant doesn't disappoint with my coffee today. Love the atmosphere of the bakery. As a newbie to Austin, I've been looking for a cafe/coffee shop with internet for remote working days and I was glad to see others set up for independent and collaborative working while picking up my order. The person at the front counter when I arrived was awesome! She had a bubbly spirit and was eager to help. The bakery case was inviting and I ended up asking her to purchase a few baked goods to go with my to-go order. But the person who later covered the area failed to continue the same level of customer service when my meal was ready. She was very short and although the first lady had my bag, baked items, and utensils all set aside and ready for lunch order, the second lady just seemed to want to quickly get me out. She handed me my lunch but left all of my other items. When I asked for the rest of my order, she only handed me the baked goods and left everything else on the prep counter. I just felt rushed. When leaving, I realized the first person I encountered was now on break, I thought maybe some communication could have happened between the two to minimize what made me feel like a burden. I'm willing to give this place another chance when I can sit and enjoy. read more

Rose matcha latte + lemon tart ($7.50)! They were both really delicious seasonal items, and the ambience was nice for working on a Friday afternoon with lots of sunlight, plants, and chill music. I will say-- the two times I've come the latte milk foam has been a bit too foamy, and Sunday brunch was a bit busy/chaotic, and they had forgotten my latte for a while. Definitely would come here when it's quieter for that nice experience! :) read more

Went for a brunch with a girlfriend. I love how the breakfast menu item is very fresh rather than your typical eggs. I loved their bakery options. You order and get a number and get seated and they will bring you food and drink to you. The inside is a bit loud but since it was a good weather we sat outside. Their Kouign Amann was so fresh and light and not at all sweet. It paired well with my oat milk ice latte. read more

Embarrassed to say that I come here way to often. Food is great, coffee is so good and the ladies who work here are amazing!

Cuban sandwiches are my favorite type of sandwich so when I saw that on the menu I just had to get one! The bread on the sandwich was amazing. I could have just eaten it by itself. Some of the pork pieces were dry and chewy. I think next time I might prefer a grilled cheese so that it would be the perfect sandwich. I also ordered a pistachio macaron. It was either not real pistachio or laced with almond flavoring of some kind because the pistachio ganache flavor was not very good and it was too sweet. I'll stick to their bread/savory products in the future. I'll be dreaming about that bread for a while. read more

Met some friends here on a busy Saturday brunch time. The line was long but felt like they got through the orders pretty quickly. I ordered the croissant sandwich with bacon, and an Americano. My friends ordered quiche and avocado toast. Our orders were a bit slow to arrive but it was busy and everything is fresh at least. My coffee was good, I like the beans they use. My sandwich was really tasty, would order again. However the breakfast style potatoes were a bit dry and I'd prefer a different option as a side. The pastry case looked tempting but maybe another time. It is a bit pricey, but I guess it's in the Domain so it's to be expected. The staff were friendly, and I like the openness of the inside and there's plenty outdoor tables. Plenty of parking around the Domain area. read more

Many good things about this place. Nice location on Rock Rose in the Domain. Food and baked items are good, and the employees are pleasant. However, the posted hours are until 5:00, but at 3:30 they're already putting chairs on tables and cleaning (and today is not the first time we've experienced this here). Very unwelcoming! read more

Absolutely one of my favorite bakeries in Austin!! Bakery Lorraine is located in the Domain Shopping center near Nike, Velvet Taco, and many other establishments. For today I decided to go with the Lemon Blueberry Frangipane and a S'mores Tart. Both pastries were absolutely fantastic. The Lemon Blueberry Frangipane had the perfect combination of textures and the good balance of sweetness and tartness. The S'mores tart was equally as impressive and the chocolate filling inside was the perfect texture and sweetness as well. Pastries shouldn't just be an overload of sweetness, but be able to balance different flavor elements and Bakery Lorraine does just that. I have also tried their poptarts before as well and those are excellent (however they tend to run out by the afternoon!) The service was great as well as the workers had a smile on their face and were helpful in answering our questions! There is plenty of space inside to meet with friends or if you want to work. There is also outdoor seating up front. Give Bakery Lorraine a try next time you are in the Domain area! There is a free parking garage nearby that you can park at. read more

It was pretty good. We stuck to the baked goods and they were good. Since it was Sunday of Memorial Day weekend the service was sort of slow, most likely not a good indication of who they are. It's really pricey, too but you already know walking in the door. Finally, we both thought the coffee was weak. I'm sure it'll be better next time. read more

this cutie bakery had such a great atmosphere - there were so many plants and the natural lighting coming through the large windows added to that peaceful vibe. lots of ppl studying in here. i got the chef salad without blue cheese and with their vinaigrette instead of ranch. the vinaigrette was SOUR - almost too lemony to eat. their house-made croutons were not as hard as typical croutons but i liked them!! i also liked how they seasoned the avocado. the kouign amann pastry was light, flakey, and the lemon curd had a good balance of flavors. i liked how they had everything you need (condiments, utensils, etc) on a central table for you to grab yourself. read more

I absolutely love this bakery. The strawberry pop tarts are out of this world. I live in Houston and literally consider driving into Austin just to get them....Well today was that day and they sold out of them before I arrived, tragic! Not to be dramatic, but the eyes got watery lol. I did try the BL-BLT sandwich and it was really good! I wanted just plain Mayo, which they didn't have, but the garlic aioli was very good. The staff members are very friendly, and I always enjoy my visits here. read more

This place is super cute I don't know why I have not noticed it before. It's a little bakery that also has cafe type foods available. It's a great place to meet up with a friend or even have a casual date. I came here with a friend and got the BL Portobello Sandwich. The BL stands for Bakery Lorraine. It came with thin shoe string fries which are my favorite type of fries because idk why but when they are thinner it's almost like you can taste them more? The sandwich was also good too, it had a really nice Italian type of dressing on it. The only thing was that the sandwich was so small. It was almost like a slider. I do think this place is a little pricey for the amount of food but overall my experience here was good and I would still go again! read more

I got a breakfast sandwich, sub sourdough and add avocado. First note, the potatoes need a lot of work. They tasted like old microwaved potatoes. I actually tried one in my car before I left and even then they were still very styrofoamy, no crisp at all, lacking flavor. (3 min walk from restaurant, left as soon as I received food, so I didn't let them sit for too long). As I walked out, I noticed all leftover plates only had potatoes left, showing I'm not the only one feeling this way. The breakfast sandwich also needed some work. The sourdough was not toasted at all. I already think untoasted bread on breakfast sandwiches is not great, but by the time I got home (only an 8 min drive), sitting in the container made it super soggy. I had to toast it myself. When taking the sandwich out to toast, I realized they cut the sanwhich then seemed to add the full bacon slices after, so when I picked it up everything fell off and I had to put everything back together and recut the sandwich in half due to the bacon being added after and uncut. They also have no sauces other than chalula packets (I asked). The staff was very nice and establishment was clean enough. If they fixed these issues I think it could be 5 stars. read more

I think we went here every day on a vacation after our morning run. The breakfast selections were great. I love that. They opened up at eight versus 11 like other places. This place is super cute. The staff was friendly and responsive. That said, lunch for three people (including a kid) was $70. The avocado toast was wildly under-seasoned. The waiter also accidentally dropped a hot, greasy sandwich on someone in my party. Truly an accident, that isn't the issue. The issue is that it took them a really long time to remake the sandwich. The macrons are dense and kind of mediocre. The canale are fine, but certainly not great. Overall, underwhelming. read more

The coffee drinks are good. The food is way too expensive. $15 for a slice of quiche. I have found since moving to Austin that everything else is at least a little more affordable, if not much more affordable, than in Miami, but this place is the first to break that rule. And it would be less annoying if their Wi-Fi worked well. I ordered $8 latte and had to leave because Wi-Fi was in and out when I was trying to work. The employees are nice and it looks clean. I will come once in a while (it's downstairs from my apt), but it's not gonna be a go-to at $8 a pop. read more

My last day in Austin, Texas before flying back to Phoenix, my sister brought me to this brunch spot at the domain and it did not disappoint. We arrived at 10am on a Sunday and there wasn't a line which was great! You order right at the back and they deliver the food over to you. They have a lot of spots to sit outside especially when it's gorgeous out which is what we did. My sister got the croque madame and I got the lunch special of soup (tomato soup) and sandwich (bacon, egg, avocado) ... absolutely delicious! My sister also got a latte which was a perfect balance. The food is really flavorful, worth a try if you're passing through or want a good brunch before walking around to go shopping! read more

It was my first time coming here. The entrance of the building can be easily missed if there weren't tables and chairs outside. I like the drawings on the wall. The cashier was super quiet and I didn't understand what he was saying but I finally got to order a turkey pesto sandwich. The wait wasn't too bad considering the long line. After 10 min, I got my order and I sat outside. The chairs are not clean. I see people wiping the tables but not the chairs. The sandwich was just alright. The tomatoes are my favorite though! I didn't finish the chips just because I'm not a fan. For its price, it's very basic. Good to try, but not revisit. read more

A cute hidden coffee/ bakery spot in the middle of rose way. The chai tea was a bit spicy as it had too much cinnamon for my preference. The macaroons were delicious with the exception of the salted caramel. The barista suggested we try a flavor that was similar to fruit loops, and it did not disappoint! The scone was baked perfectly and we received everything within 5 minutes of sitting down. That was quick service considering how busy they were. read more

This place knows high quality food. It's on the pricey side but I get it. The avocado toast by itself was okay. But with the smoked salmon it was great touch. But what really makes this place great is the pastries. (I don't have pictures because I have no self control and inhaled the pastries). The home made strawberry pop tarts, cinnamon roll and koalchies are prime. The dough is top tier quality and made with care. So delicious! read more

Such a cute place with lots of lighting and decent amount of outlets, I can see this being a good place to get some work done! The servers are super friendly and quick to help and clear off tables. But the food is where this place really shines! I got the quiche Lorraine with roasted potatoes and from the pictures online, I was a little worried I wouldn't be full afterwards. But it came with a decent sized portion of potatoes which were seasoned perfectly and besides the roasted outside, were nice and soft inside without being dry or crumbly. And don't even get me started on the quiche! It was so silky and creamy and literally melted in my mouth. Honestly, I wish they gave me a bigger slice. In terms of fullness, I was pretty satisfied after my meal, but I could have eaten more. Which is kind of perfect since all of the bakery goods looked so good. I will have to try some of those next time I'm there! read more

Only go to this place if you need coffee and dessert. I had lunch with a client and I would have asked for my money back if I hadn't been with a client. I had the grill cheese and soup. The grill cheese was cream cheese on two grilled pieces of bread....why? The soup was chicken with veggies. No seasoning and canned chicken. I got side of french fries that were essentially cold and greasy. How do you screw up french fries?? No, I won't be going to this place again. read more

Super cute bakery/coffee shop/lunch place in the Domain! I came here to work during the day. There's ample outlets and there's a good mix of people who are here to socialize and here to work. Aesthetically, it's super cute with lots of natural lighting and plants. The pastries looked cute, but didn't get to try any. I got their latte, and I love the clear drinking cups. It was a pretty standard latte. My rating is based off of how it is as a working space and less about food. In terms of working, it's great. In terms of food, can't say. read more

The service was also delightful, the restaurant clean and I even ordered macaroons to go for my daughter and she demolished them as soon as I handed over the bag and said they were the best. We love Bakery Lorraine and have enjoyed many wonderful meals. My daughter and I stopped in today to eat. Our food was delivered by the manager, Olive. When she brought our food she was visibly irritated and unfriendly. The last time we ordered the breakfast plate, it came with butter and jam for the toast. When I inquired about the butter and jam, Olive aggressively told us that these are an extra charge and that they made a mistake including this with our meal last time. My daughter and I were taken back because of her agitated demeanor. When she walked away, I said, "what's wrong with her?" to my daughter. Olive overheard me and decided to accost us again so we could rehash an already very awkward, uncomfortable and unprofessional encounter. We hope Olive can receive some management training because my daughter and I were honestly embarrassed for her. On a side note, if butter and/or jam are going to be an upcharge, the cashier should ask us if we would like the items included when we place our order. My daughter ate her toast bone dry because we weren't going to wait in line again to pay for a pad of butter. read more

Really good bakery. If this bakery is one of your options for breakfast or brunch... just do it. It has a little bit for everyone's taste. From sweet to savory we tried lots of things and everything was delicious. The quiche Lorraine is very tasty as it was the croque madame sandwich. Avocado toast with a side of smoked salmon was a favorite for many. Cinnamon buns, cookies and all pastries were fresh and delicious. If there is a down side to this place was ... in my opinion... was the coffee. It needs some attention. Not the best. Mimosas were okay though. (Wink-wink).
