The ambience is nice. The service is good. However the pancakes were practically raw, the French toast was doughy and the home fries were lukewarm. The eggs, bacon and sausage were good. I asked for the manager and she said she would take something off our check. We ended up paying $20 for eggs and bacon!! Plus we had to pay for the coffee so our bill was still $30 plus the tip. When I spoke to the manager, Penny, I gave her advice to apologize for the service not being up to par she said "well I'm not the cook". But YOU'RE THE MANAGER!!! We won't be going back. This place has gone downhill over the years and I wish someone cared.

Baker's Diner 11-7-24 Stopped in on Thursday at 1pm for lunch. This place was clean, neat, and not full. There were only a couple tables with customers in them. The interior was very nice and laid gave you the feel of an upscale dinner. I loved the showcase filled with all kinds of deserts near the front, so you don't forget them after you eat. Our waitress Nikki came over fast for our drink order, when she came back to deliver our drinks she took our food order. The menu is large, they have specials for each day of the week and daily Senior specials to boot. I believe there is something for everyone on that menu. We both ordered the Open Turkey Sandwich with 1 side and soup or salad. For my side I got mashed potatoes and a salad. My wife's sides were coleslaw and a salad. Nikki brought out our salads very quickly. The salads looked good, and all items looked fresh and tasted great. The salad was bigger than I thought, and it was very good. As soon as we were done with the salads our Turkey Sandwiches came out. They looked amazing, the Turkey, bread and gravy filled the entire plate. It was so good and so tasty. The Mashed potatoes were good, and they seemed to go well with Turkey. My wife loved her Turkey and the coleslaw. I have to say this was a very good dish. The only thing I would have liked is for the dish to be a little hotter. It was not cold but could have been hotter for that 5th star. I can't wait to go back and try something else. You need to go here as prices are reasonable, service is good, and the food is great. I give this place 4 stars out of 5. Nikki thanks for the great service and checking back many times to see if we needed anything. Follow me on FB for more reviews. Gulf Coast Terry

We've driven by on the way here and there for years and finally stopped. I was pleased with the diner decor and something for everyone menu. The service was efficient if not a little chilly.

What has happened to this diner?!? Always stop here commuting from Allentown, PA to Washington DC and order turkey club sandwiches to go. Used to be the best club sandwich around but the triple deckers from the last 2 stops have been terrible. Hardly any turkey in a $13 sandwich! And the past visit did not have much lettuce in the sandwiches either, just a few small pieces in each. Absolutely a rip off for the price. Hoped the previous visit was a one-off but now have received sandwiches of the same poor quality two times in a row this spring. Please save your money and go elsewhere, or at least forgo the turkey club sandwich for the price!

Chicken fried steak with sausage gravy? and burnt wheat toast.

Server was nice and diner was clean. Was looking for quality breakfast. Ordered the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and wheat toast. The chicken fried steak came with sausage gravy on it. Not really a good combo. As sausage gravy has a very unique taste and so does not pair with chicken fried steak. The pieces of toast were small and burnt . Home fries were barely cooked. Just seems to be another place that in this post Covid era, the quality of food has gone down and prices have gone up.

A quintessential stop every time my dad and I head to Harrisburg for the annual Outdoor Show. The food and service have never failed us, and definitely will help wake up even the drowsiest traveler. Only problem being that everyone else seems to feel the same! This place is always packed, so be warned!

Not sure what was happening with staffing. It took a while to get menus and even longer to get our order put in. The waiter did check in on us to apologize for the long wait but it took over an hour to get our food. We saw other people waiting forever too and next to us, they were frustrated waiting a long time just to get their bill to pay. Another party had a woman finally flag down a waiter telling them no one has even taken their order. Where was upper management? It's not necessarily the waiters fault. Are they over-seating for short staff? The kitchen isn't keeping up with the orders, want to comp something from the bar maybe? One hours for food to come out is really disappointing. The food was good but not amazing or unique. The drink was suppose to be a blood orange old fashioned but tasted horrible so, probably not going to return for any mixed drinks. The look on his face and the way he was disgustingly serving the prime rib was as if it was painfully being carved out of his own ribs. Jokes aside, he was not the right person to interact with the customer behind the counter. We lost our appetite for the prime spare ribs which was an added cost on the buffet menu.

I was there last Saturday afternoon after the lunch crowd was gone heading back from Rochester. I topped off the gas tank and was hungry. So I park and head inside. It's not a big place. Several tables on one side and the bar on the other. I grab a seat on the end at the bar. The waitress comes over and I order a cup of coffee and look at the menu she provided. I'm pretty hungry not eating anything that day so far. I decide on the breakfast special ( 2 eggs any style and home fries). I add toast and bacon. Eggs over medium. The coffee is pretty good. I'm looking at traffic patterns in my phone, checking out the weather. Food arrives pretty quick and the plate is covered. Toast is fresh, home fries and good, bacon crispy and eggs cooked to order. The coffee gets refilled and I'm enjoying every bite. I like the old school diner vibe with the fresh coffee and diner style foods. I am finished and quite full with an excellent meal. I get the check and it's pretty cheap. She gets a good tip, I'm done with the coffee and out the door. I have been going past for maybe 20 years and stopped now twice. When Candy Mountain Creamery announced they'd be opening at 7am for build-your-own waffle ice cream sundaes, I felt personally called to action. Because if you're not celebrating extremely niche food holidays with reckless enthusiasm, what are you even doing? Also working in my favor: I had recently signed up for the Cumberland Valley Coffee & Chocolate Trail, and realized Candy Mountain Creamery was a participating stop. Two birds. One waffle-shaped destiny. Alarm set for 5:45am on a Saturday. Commitment level: alarming. At 7:52am, with temperatures hovering around 15° and wind chills that felt emotionally aggressive, I walked into the shop smiling like a person who makes excellent life decisions. Parking was easy thanks to their strip mall location -- always a win when you're battling winter just to eat dessert for breakfast. I fully expected chaos. Lines. Fellow sugar enthusiasts wrapped in blankets waiting for their moment. Instead? I was the only one there. The universe clearly said, "This is your main character moment." The staff were warm, friendly, and somehow just as excited about ice cream as I was. They told me to pick three flavors and they'd take it from there. My pre-caffeine brain selected: Cherry Cordial, Banana Nut Bread, and Maple -- which in hindsight sounds like the ice cream equivalent of chaotic good energy. While they prepared my masterpiece, I completed my Coffee & Chocolate Trail check-in and used a coupon for a free medium latte, because nothing pairs with ice cream breakfast like financial efficiency. Moments later, they handed me a golden waffle piled high with three enormous scoops and pointed me toward the toppings bar AND a roaring gas fireplace. I nearly ascended. The toppings bar had everything -- Reese's Pieces, whipped cream, strawberry topping, caramel, peanuts -- and I exercised exactly zero restraint. Reese's Pieces? Yes. Peanut butter drizzle? Obviously. Whipped cream? Don't insult me. Then I settled into a cozy chair by the fireplace and proceeded to absolutely demolish this breakfast like a person with no regrets and excellent priorities. The ice cream itself was fantastic -- creamy, flavorful, and distinct enough that each scoop held its own despite my slightly unhinged flavor combo. The latte was piping hot and perfect for balancing out the sugar-fueled chaos. Honestly, aside from the waffle sundae itself, the fireplace deserves its own Yelp listing. I expected to be freezing while eating ice cream before sunrise -- instead I was warm, cozy, and deeply at peace with my life choices. A few other brave souls eventually wandered in, which reassured me that I am not the only person willing to eat ice cream at breakfast in sub-freezing temperatures. Huge thanks to Candy Mountain Creamery for being one of the only local spots open early enough to support my commitment to food-based holidays, for having incredibly friendly staff, a fantastic latte, and a warm space that turned a cold winter morning into something genuinely memorable!

I saw on social media that TJ Rockwell's was hosting a Kegs & Eggs event the Sunday before St…read more Patrick's Day -- a festive brunch situation from 9am-2pm with a special menu and Irish-inspired drinks. As someone who is always looking for an excuse to celebrate literally anything (especially if it involves food), this immediately made its way onto my weekend agenda. My adventure buddy and I rolled in around 10:30am and walked straight into what can only be described as a St. Patrick's Day pregame party. The parking lot was full, the bar was packed, and the crowd was decked out in green, shamrocks, and questionable life choices. Despite the chaos, we somehow snagged a booth right away, which felt like a small personal victory. We got seated and... were handed the regular menu. Cue internal panic. Because I had done my homework. I had studied the brunch menu. I had a plan. Thankfully, our server swooped in like a hero, brought us the correct menu, and reassured me that yes, I could still live my best brunch life. Crisis averted. We started with drinks because obviously. My adventure buddy went with the Lucky Leprechaun Martini (Tito's vodka, melon liqueur, pineapple - $11), and I opted for the Jameson Orange Mimosa ($9). The martini absolutely stole the show -- bright green, sweet, refreshing, and aggressively on theme. No notes. Then came the hard part: deciding what to eat. TJ Rockwell's did not mess around with this menu -- it was stacked. We landed on the Breakfast Eggrolls ($13) and the Afternoon Delight ($17) because we believe in teamwork and over-ordering for the sake of "the full experience." Those eggrolls were elite -- crispy on the outside, loaded with sausage, egg, and cheese on the inside, and even better dipped in maple syrup (which I absolutely did, no regrets). Sweet, savory, and a little dangerous. And then the Afternoon Delight arrived... and this thing was not a sandwich, it was a commitment. Ground breakfast sausage smashed on the griddle, Irish cheddar, bacon, all stacked between slices of homemade French toast with a side of potatoes O'Brien. It was huge, indulgent, and exactly what you hope for when you commit to a holiday brunch event. My adventure buddy handled it like a champ and cleaned the plate. What really impressed me was how quickly everything came out despite the place being absolutely slammed. TJ Rockwell's clearly came prepared for the crowd, and it showed. Our server was fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and thoughtful down to the little things (like bringing me a lid for my maple syrup so it could safely make the journey home, which I deeply appreciated). Our total came to $51.80 before tip, which is a little up there for brunch, but honestly, it felt worth it for the food, the drinks, and the full-on festive experience. When we left around 11:45am, the lobby was packed with people waiting for tables, so we definitely nailed the timing and avoided the full post-church brunch chaos. I had built this event up in my head based on their social media hype, and I'm very happy to report that it delivered. TJ Rockwell's understood the assignment. If they bring back Kegs & Eggs next year, I'll absolutely be back -- probably wearing something green and making equally excellent life choices.

Field To Belly's trailer-side banner reads, "Food from friends... all locally sourced from farmers…read morein Central PA," and honestly, that alone set my heart soaring. A food truck fully committed to local sourcing, parked at a fundraiser for a farmers market in my home county? Say no more--I was already smitten. I scoped out their menu ahead of time (highly recommend), because I wanted everything. It was their last event of the year and they were serving the full lineup--breakfast sandwiches, jamburgers, the Autumn Harvest Melt, you name it. After snagging a quick photo with Santa, I headed straight for their simple, no-frills setup. None of that "locally sourced means we bought the eggs at Walmart this morning" nonsense. Field To Belly is the real deal. I went with the Morning Jammer ($15): sage butter-griddled buttermilk bread, a pastured beef burger, melty gouda, thick-cut bacon, a pastured fried egg, grilled onions, and your choice of raspberry or pepper jam. (Pepper jam for me all the way--no contest.) As I stood in the freezing wind with the first snowflakes of the season falling, two things crossed my mind: 1) I'm not ready for winter, and 2) this sandwich is going to change my life. The cook griddled everything right in front of me, and before long I was handed a heavy Styrofoam clamshell. I escaped to my car, popped it open, and nearly ascended. The Morning Jammer is huge--and smelled like pure, glorious breakfast heaven. One bite in and... holy shit. This might be the best breakfast sandwich, burger, handheld-anything I've ever had. Every ingredient sang on its own but harmonized perfectly: the pepper jam and bacon together? Unreal. The egg was perfectly fried (not runny--bless), the burger was cooked beautifully, and the griddled bread held everything together like the MVP it was. Full disclosure: I inhaled the entire thing in a school parking lot like a feral raccoon who hadn't eaten in a week. Zero regrets. Field To Belly blew me away with their minimalistic, ingredient-driven magic. Skip the flashy trucks and track these folks down instead. They frequent local farmers markets--including Dillsburg Farmers Market and Adams-Ricci Community Park Farmers Market--and trust me, you're going to want to know where they'll be next. Pro tip: Like, follow, and stalk them on social media. Your tastebuds will thank you. I know mine did.
