Mushroom Swiss 4oz burger with tomato and pickle
Terri G.

We both got the 4oz mushroom Swiss burger and shared onion rings. I don't understand why they didn't serve coffee.... and the atmosphere was zero. But the food was excellent and good value.

Classic burger and fried handmade!

Awesome little burger joint. The handmade patties, and house cut fries were incredible!!! If you're in the Area, do yourself a favor and stop in.

50-50 Burger with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and mayo.

It was a muggy summer eve on July 1st. As always, when traveling, we like to search out local establishments, and while eating well, we can also support local entrepreneurs. My wife found this gem with a Google search. After landing and getting settled into our rental house, our group of 8btook a leisurely two block stroll down the street to the Pickle Nickel. We were handed our menus and seated in the front room to peruse the menu and order our drinks. I ordered the 50-50. It's a combination of 50% rough ground bacon and 50% ground sirloin. It arrives on a bun with any toppings they have, and as I discovered, it's fried in a special sauce comprised of basalmic vinegar, rosemary, and maple syrup. Seems fitting with the bacon. Eating the sandwich was a somewhat messy affair since the burger was cooked to perfection and oozed of the aforementioned sauce. As I told the owners wife and cook before I left, "That was the most deliciously messy burger I have ever eaten". I didn't taste all of the other burgers, but my wife was well pleased with her bacon cheeseburger. I can't finish this review without talking about the fries. Their fries are handcut and are offered naked for you to dip in Ketchup or they also come covered with bacon and cheese as my Mother in law and daughter ordered along with some Pickle Nickel sauce on the side. All I can say about the sauce is that it adds a whole new taste level to fries with its spice level! So I end by saying that if you want some off the charts burgers and fries, please give this establishment a try!

I was there last Saturday afternoon after the lunch crowd was gone heading back from Rochester. I topped off the gas tank and was hungry. So I park and head inside. It's not a big place. Several tables on one side and the bar on the other. I grab a seat on the end at the bar. The waitress comes over and I order a cup of coffee and look at the menu she provided. I'm pretty hungry not eating anything that day so far. I decide on the breakfast special ( 2 eggs any style and home fries). I add toast and bacon. Eggs over medium. The coffee is pretty good. I'm looking at traffic patterns in my phone, checking out the weather. Food arrives pretty quick and the plate is covered. Toast is fresh, home fries and good, bacon crispy and eggs cooked to order. The coffee gets refilled and I'm enjoying every bite. I like the old school diner vibe with the fresh coffee and diner style foods. I am finished and quite full with an excellent meal. I get the check and it's pretty cheap. She gets a good tip, I'm done with the coffee and out the door. I have been going past for maybe 20 years and stopped now twice. I think it will be a regular stop on my way to Rochester back and forth granted they're open. I think they're closing for a few weeks in August, just be aware. If you like the diner vibe and a good meal that won't break the bank, it's worth a visit. Yeah...where is Dillsburg? Rt 15 N/S in Pennsylvania. Google maps is a help.

We went on the Saturday after 4th of July and I believe that business may have been significantly lessened as a result. We are looking for a new place to "get a drink" since our current fav is closing down in a month or so. This was our first time here. It was a Saturday night, and the place was dead, but see above. We sat at the bar. My wife and I specifically enjoy sour beers, so we noticed that there were a few on their tap list and decided to give it a go...plus, it is on the "Beer Trail" and could be checked off the list. We did not try any food since we had just eaten with our kids (cookout, post July 4th). They only had about 5 of their own beers on tap, but did have an extensive variety of guest taps. I was shocked at how many options there were for such a small location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful...they were very willing to give us sample cups to taste the different beers before we committed to a full size drink. Without a doubt, whatever style of beer you prefer, you are sure to be able to find something you enjoy...and probably multiple selections. We will be back to give it another go. One note, we had stopped by last week, but left bc there was a band, the room was full, and they were charging a cover per head since the band was there. I'm not paying a cover to listen to music. If you want to bring in bands, make sure you can pay them without making your customers eat the charge. It is a small seating area, probably only about 50 people could fit. So, just make sure to check if you are going.

I saw on social media that TJ Rockwell's was hosting a Kegs & Eggs event the Sunday before St…read more Patrick's Day -- a festive brunch situation from 9am-2pm with a special menu and Irish-inspired drinks. As someone who is always looking for an excuse to celebrate literally anything (especially if it involves food), this immediately made its way onto my weekend agenda. My adventure buddy and I rolled in around 10:30am and walked straight into what can only be described as a St. Patrick's Day pregame party. The parking lot was full, the bar was packed, and the crowd was decked out in green, shamrocks, and questionable life choices. Despite the chaos, we somehow snagged a booth right away, which felt like a small personal victory. We got seated and... were handed the regular menu. Cue internal panic. Because I had done my homework. I had studied the brunch menu. I had a plan. Thankfully, our server swooped in like a hero, brought us the correct menu, and reassured me that yes, I could still live my best brunch life. Crisis averted. We started with drinks because obviously. My adventure buddy went with the Lucky Leprechaun Martini (Tito's vodka, melon liqueur, pineapple - $11), and I opted for the Jameson Orange Mimosa ($9). The martini absolutely stole the show -- bright green, sweet, refreshing, and aggressively on theme. No notes. Then came the hard part: deciding what to eat. TJ Rockwell's did not mess around with this menu -- it was stacked. We landed on the Breakfast Eggrolls ($13) and the Afternoon Delight ($17) because we believe in teamwork and over-ordering for the sake of "the full experience." Those eggrolls were elite -- crispy on the outside, loaded with sausage, egg, and cheese on the inside, and even better dipped in maple syrup (which I absolutely did, no regrets). Sweet, savory, and a little dangerous. And then the Afternoon Delight arrived... and this thing was not a sandwich, it was a commitment. Ground breakfast sausage smashed on the griddle, Irish cheddar, bacon, all stacked between slices of homemade French toast with a side of potatoes O'Brien. It was huge, indulgent, and exactly what you hope for when you commit to a holiday brunch event. My adventure buddy handled it like a champ and cleaned the plate. What really impressed me was how quickly everything came out despite the place being absolutely slammed. TJ Rockwell's clearly came prepared for the crowd, and it showed. Our server was fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and thoughtful down to the little things (like bringing me a lid for my maple syrup so it could safely make the journey home, which I deeply appreciated). Our total came to $51.80 before tip, which is a little up there for brunch, but honestly, it felt worth it for the food, the drinks, and the full-on festive experience. When we left around 11:45am, the lobby was packed with people waiting for tables, so we definitely nailed the timing and avoided the full post-church brunch chaos. I had built this event up in my head based on their social media hype, and I'm very happy to report that it delivered. TJ Rockwell's understood the assignment. If they bring back Kegs & Eggs next year, I'll absolutely be back -- probably wearing something green and making equally excellent life choices.

I visited Cold Springs Inn for the first time on a cold, rainy Saturday night for a solo date…read morenight--and let me tell you, this place was absolutely worth braving the weather for! Tucked away along Yellow Breeches Creek, it has that perfect "hidden gem" feel. There's a large gravel parking lot right across the street, so parking was easy, and I was seated quickly near the bar when I arrived around 5:15pm. Inside, it leans more bar than restaurant--and I mean that in the best way. Dim lighting, cozy vibes, and a laid-back atmosphere made it feel instantly comfortable. There's limited indoor seating--maybe around six tables and space for about 30 people total, plus bar seating--so I can see how it fills up fast. And honestly, this place is made for nice weather. The outdoor area along the creek looked beautiful, with tons of seating that I can already tell would be amazing on a warm day. Unfortunately, 49° and rain kept me inside this time, but I'll absolutely be back to experience the deck! Cold Springs Inn brews their own beer, with a solid lineup of house brews on tap, along with a pretty extensive food menu. I'm not much of a craft beer person, so I kept it simple--because I already knew exactly what I came for: The Big Papi. A grilled, foot-long all-beef hot dog topped with house chili, onions, and melted Cooper Sharp cheese on a toasted hoagie roll ($17), paired with a Diet Coke ($3)...balance. A short while later, my food arrived--on an actual baking sheet--and I knew immediately this was going to be something special. I've eaten a lot of chili dogs, and I have never seen one like this. It was a masterpiece: lightly toasted hoagie roll, a massive hot dog, an insane amount of flavorful chili, and perfectly melted Cooper Sharp cheese placed under the dog so it stayed in every bite. That detail alone? Genius. It was messy, over-the-top, and absolutely delicious--easily one of the best chili dogs I've ever had! I also stuck with the house-made chips, and I'm so glad I did. Thick-cut, super crispy, and heavily seasoned (which I love), they were some of the best chips I've had in a long time. I wanted to finish the whole meal, but I knew better--I cut the Big Papi in half before starting and ended up taking a solid portion home. The chips, however, didn't stand a chance. I love a no-rules date night! Service was great--friendly, attentive, and quick without hovering. By the time I was finishing up, the place had completely filled in, and there was even a group waiting at the door, which says a lot for such a small indoor space. One thing to note: while I was there, I saw on social media that they planned to close early due to the weather, so if you're heading there on a rainy or questionable day, it's probably smart to check ahead. All in all, Cold Springs Inn is a total hidden gem! Great atmosphere, great food, fair prices--and that Big Papi alone is reason enough to come back. And I will absolutely be back...preferably on a sunny day, sitting by the creek, with another chili dog in front of me.
