California chicken cheesesteak
Timothy B.

Wife and kids visited me at work and I took them to lunch here. Almost regretted it instantly after walking in. Very small, and didn't even notice the small side dining room until we left. Very much gave the impression of being strictly a pizza place and I was worried about the Italian food we came to try. The menu was also very simple looking and didn't inspire a lot of confidence. Family felt the same and went with the chicken cheesesteak, turkey sub, and two slices of meat lover's pizza. I figured I'd give the real food a try and I love bolognese, so went that way. Wife and daughter were both very happy with their hot and cold subs. My son eats A LOT and still was only able to eat one of the two pizza slices. The pizza was really good - we all took a bite to try. As for the Italian food... I only tried one dish. I won't say it was the best bolognese I ever had, but it was very good. And they either found some store that sells irregular pasta, or they made that pasta themselves. You can see the nice shapes but not identical forms of the pasta in the pic that smacked of homemade. The portion size was great for two meals, so I had it for dinner the next day, too. Very pleasantly surprised by this place. Greta experience, and I'm sure we'll be back soon. They should've gotten a larger restaurant seating area to show off the real menu, because they seem to take the cooking seriously. Not the absolute best Italian joint I've eaten at, but very solid and I'd like to explore the food again.

Don't get the bruschetta you will be disappointed.. the wait was very long. They brought out one dish and we waited another 10-20 minutes before our pizza came out. Not a good experience. Had to take our food to go‍‍the calzone was huge!! I ordered a small but I'm guessing they gave me a large

Ginormous calzone

We were headed to Haar's Drive-in on a Saturday night and originally planned to get pizzas at Little Ceasars, but since they didn't answer their phone we decided to try a new place. And I'm glad we did because Ferrante's will be our go-to whenever we're in Dillsburg, PA! Ordered over the phone (they answered on the first call btw) and it was flawless - Pepperoni pizza, calzone, and tuna sub were our choices. The person who helped me (I assume was the owner) was super nice. Having lived in Naples, Italy, and Sicily, we had a nice, brief conversation, later to find out that he was stationed near the area I lived in Sicily. Ok, so the food...the pepperoni pizza had a regular crust, with the right amount of sauce so as not to make the crust soggy. My kids loved it as that was their choice, so that was a score. The calzone was ginormous (see pic) and was loaded with mozzarella and ricotta. The tuna sub was the star imo. Perfectly made tuna salad, not too much Mayo, loaded with lettuce and tomato. The bread was unique, but not in a bad way...it reminded me of an oblong shaped, fat pita, but it worked well for the sub! And the sub was ginormous, too! All the items we ordered tasted good and definitely with worth it. We'll be back for sure.

Adventure Buddy and I popped into Vissagio's on a Friday night around 5:30pm. They had a…read morereservation ready for us, but honestly, the place was basically empty when we walked in, so we had the dining room to ourselves until about 6pm. Quiet, cozy, and perfect for some pre-weekend indulgence. The staff were wonderful--super friendly, checked in just enough so we didn't feel neglected, and honestly went above and beyond. My favorite part? They boxed up our leftovers right at the table. I don't know why this feels like such a rare treat, but I adored it. We started with drinks--an Old Fashioned for Adventure Buddy (classic) and a Blueberry Lemonade cocktail for me (fancy, fruity, perfect). Then we jumped into the food. First up: Bosco Bruschetta ($14). Porcini mushrooms on toasted bread, shaved Parmigiano, balsamic drizzle...and SO MANY MUSHROOMS. Creamy, rich, and overflowing off the little toasts. Highly recommend. Like, I'd go back just for this. For dinner, I went with the Eggplant Parmigiana ($24). This was a serious dish--lightly breaded eggplant layered with marinara and mozzarella, plus a huge side of pasta. The eggplant itself was perfect, not just drowned in sauce, and came in its own bakeware dish. I ended up taking about two-thirds home, which I have zero complaints about. Adventure Buddy had the Gnocchi Sorrento ($24) and added a filet mignon. The gnocchi were like little pillows of happiness, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the filet came out exactly medium-rare. Chef knows what's up. We couldn't resist dessert--a slice of chocolate peanut butter to split. SO good, and surprisingly light. Honestly, I could have eaten the whole thing (and, mostly did). Also, shout-out for the bread and dipping oil they brought out right when we sat down. I was starving, as usual, and that little gesture made me very happy. Total bill came to $132 with tip, which is really reasonable for the portions, quality, service, and slightly upscale-but-not-stuffy vibe. Bottom line: Vissagio's hits all the right notes--delicious food, friendly staff, and portions that don't leave you crying into a tiny plate. I'll definitely be back!
