I really enjoyed the food from here! The lobster ravioli is very very good! Very large portions! I ordered a medium stuffed pizza, and I can't imagine what the large looks like! It is huge! I also ordered the breaded mushrooms and it would've fed 3 people! How are they making money with portions this big! The service was top notch also! I can't handle spicy food, not even pepperoni, and I have a hard time speaking some times because I had a full laryngectomy but the young lady at the counter was very kind and patient with me, and helped me find some substitutes and they didn't charge me anything extra! The place had a nice vibe going on, everyone in the kitchen was busy, but all seemed to be enjoying what they did! I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking for top notch Italian cuisine! Marcello's has a standard casual pizza restaurant with seating and a bangin' takeout business on the right side as you walk in ...buuuut also has a sit-down Italian restaurant with table service on the left side (with more limited hours. For the casual diner, pizza, 'bolis, cheesesteaks are all great! 'Fancy' side has great dishes like Chicken Marsala, Alfredos, etc with daily specials - all I've tried have been great. Positive: First their food is good. Never had a problem with their food. Negative: These folks do not like discount cards. We've have a discount card for various establishments that honor the 10% discount. This is the second time we got a small Red Bruschetta pizza for $10.99 and the price is current and accurate. No drinks just the pizza. Total both times came to $11.44. So these people need to go back to school and learn math. That or stop being DISHONEST which is what they are doing. Correct discount: $10.99 + tax (.66) = $11.65 - 10% ($1.17) = $10.48 Dishonest way: $11.99 + tax (.72) = $12.71 - 10% ($1.27) = $11.44 So essentially they are automatically adding $1.00 to the $10.99 pizza so after the 10% discount they are charging you more and they never honor the 10% discount so they don't lose any money from the discount cards. Crooked. This was done by two different people working the register. Not the same person. This wasn't some silly oopsie mistake but deliberate as this happened twice from two different people. Poor customer service. I got there before my order was ready. They said they'd call my name when it was. No problem, I went over and watched the football game. 25 minutes later still nothing. I went back over and saw my order sitting on the shelf. I told them I didn't want the fries since they were probably cold. Didn't ask if I wanted a refund, just disappeared with my order. 15 minutes later they give my order to me, no apology or anything. The owner comes over and asks if I'm mad. Be aware, if they are at all busy, you will be overlooked. To add on top, they made two of my subs incorrectly, so I didn't get what I paid for. They don't care about you since they already have your money. There are better pizza places in Carlisle, go to them instead. read more

We have frequented Marcello's going on 20 years now. Always welcoming. We haven't had a meal we didn't like yet. Their cheese pizza is our daughter's go-to for pizza night. We absolutely love their homemade meatballs and often order them as a side to whatever dish we're having. Their Red Bruschetta pizza is my favorite pizza while my hubby loves meatball & mushroom. My husband's favorite dish is their eggplant rollatini. Mine is their cheese tortellini! Their restaurant is split in two. They have a dining room with full-serve for special occasions on one side, and a take-out dine-in area for more casual self-serve eating on the other side. We've used both sides. Their waitresses are always pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Marcello's for your dining pleasure. read more

I haven't had gluten free stuffed shells in over 10 years since I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. My mom, daughter's and I stopped in and had a great experience. The salad and dressings were good and my mom and daughter loved the fresh bread. They loved their food and I am so glad I opted to try the gfree pasta instead of going for gluten free pizza which i usually have to have. The service is great and the server checks on regularly. There was a variety of folks in here and the decor is Italian themed. They seem very popular and clearly have take out (possibly delivery but I'm not certain on that). I will be back, thanks! Have ordered take out for family get-to-gathers in the Past, and all have been wonderful. this past Saturday, Jan 3rd was no exception. Was or 2nd Family Christmas and all seven of us ordered many different meals, subs, sides and extras. Orders had specifics for each person, but I can honestly say nothing was not perfectly made to order. Examples--no, onions, no peppers, etc. Was spot on. Every specific order was correct. That is totally special when 7 persons are concerned. Marcellos is specific and on point with their orders. My only complaint is that they did not have their own jarred marinara/red sauce available. Our favorite Italian restaurant! Alfredo and his staff are welcoming and amazing. They make you feel like family. Love the Shrimp salad, pasta primavera, the mushroom sauce. Pam is our favorite server - just love her. Amazing homemade garlic rolls, gluten free pasta available. BYOB. We appreciate the nice dining room. They offer a more affordable menu and casual seating area on the opposite side (subs, pizza, calzones, etc). Entire evening was a disaster. They had double Booked the room and never apologized - in fact they must have other group we took the room from them and they got super aggressive. At no point did a manager come speak to me. They made us feel terrible for being there, the waitress told me she had to come in and was confused why we were even there, and then tried to tell us that the menus we had made were not ours! It was a disaster from the word go. We went in early to decorate, and the tables were so filthy we asked for help and they brought us a bottle of Windex to clean them. We spent ten minutes cleaning up garbage from the front of the restaurant as well. They ruined a wonderful event in our families life, and I will never return. I did send the owner a letter simply asking for an apology before I did a review and never heard back. read more

We had a large group of 29 people. we had reserved the back room +2 other tables. When the people there were setting up, they knew we wouldn't fit comfortably back there and then with two tables we wouldn't be able to see each other. So they set us up in the big dining room in like a giant you shape. It was perfect. It worked out so well. They thought ahead and just did this for us and even said a couple extra seats in case more people came as we weren't. Really sure how many were coming. I am not from this area but anytime we are in Carlisle we go here. We sit at the picnic table with our dog; there are 2 tables just outside their door that are under a roof. The food is great and the staff is exceptional! You order at the counter and carry your food to your table. My husband had the steak and chicken boli and added peppers, onions and mushrooms. I like this place. The first time we stopped there, we were looking for pizza after spending a few hours at a place not too far away where we played laser tag and arcade games. This popped up and one of the kids with us said they had eaten there. On this visit, the kids ordered pizza and my husband and I ordered entrees. I decided to splurge and order the Lobster Supreme (Lobster ravioli, asparagus, lump crab, & shrimp in a pink sauce) for $19.99. It was fabulous. Certainly one of the tastiest pasta dishes I have eaten in many years. The kids really liked the pizza and it appeared to be a decent quality for the price. The second time we went, we were celebrating my husband's birthday. We sat on the dining room side. The bread they served before the meal was very good. The salads were also good. We all ate different meals and with only one exception, they were very tasty. My daughter had the lasagna and it was a large portion for $10.95. She really liked it. My son was the oddball of the group and chose a cheeseburger deluxe ($4.50) and fries ($2.79). It was good sized and he thought it was pretty tasty. The order of fries were good, too. I had the Manicotti for $10.95. The pasta dough was super thin, the cheese filling was good, and the sauce was the perfect foil for the rich dish. My dad had the Spaghetti with meatballs for $10.95. Three large meatballs and a large serving of pasta. He was unable to finish it. Basic, but good. My husband, the birthday boy, opted for a variation the Shrimp & Sea Scallops for $16.95. He had them hold the shrimp and sub in extra scallops. He also asked for them in a garlic and oil sauce. The scallops were perfectly cooked. He loved the dish and can't wait to go back. The only bummer of a dish was the one my mom selected. She had the Pasta Alla Pesto for $10.95. It was a large serving of pasta that had been pre-tossed in a pesto sauce. The sauce was thick (not in a good way) and very, very bland. Which is odd for a pesto sauce. It was a pale-ish green, not the vivid green I usually expect from a sauce freshly made from lots of fresh basil. There was also very little garlic flavor. It was also lacking salt. She took most of it home and said it was a little better the second day after adding salt when reheating, but the flavor was still pretty bland. The birthday boy was given a cannoli and it was pretty decent. I am not a big pasta eater, but that manicotti was worth every freaking carbohydrate. In the future, I will ask them to see if they can add a little chopped fresh basil. We will definitely return. I know the pizza is popular, but I'd actually rather go there for the entrees (which you are free to eat on either side of the establishment). Bring your appetite, these are not small servings. read more
