Four of us visited the Resturant for dinner. The ASIAGO Chicken was extremely disappointing. The sauce was water and the portion of chicken was disappointing. My daughter has purchased this dish at least five times over the past several months. So this evaluation has a solid point of reference. The other meals were ok, nothing impressive. The waitress attitude was very flat. Appeared she was bored. Never provided utensils. I had to retrieve utensils from an empty table. Her attention to our table was less than what would be considered average. All in all a negative experience. I hate to complain to Restaurant personnel. First time trying this brunch spot and I will disclose that breakfast is my all time favorite meal. Went on a Sunday morning and it was packed inside luckily didn't have to wait we were seated immediately I could tell from our waitress that she was having an off day just by her behavior however she still treated us like valued guests. It was on the loud side so if you plan to go in for more than just eating I suggest coming at a less busy time. This waffle was more on the soft and fluffy side rather than crispy which was a different take to your ordinary waffle but I did quite like it. The whipped cream I wasn't too much of a fan just because it didn't taste like anything I'd prefer topping it with cool whip haha. I was thankful for them carrying sugar free syrup since you're already downing a decent amount of it already. Round 2 will be the pancakes they looked massive can't wait to visit again! I really like Bakers Crust! The Norfolk location is good but my fave location is Chesapeake. I came to the Norfolk location for lunch with my coworker. Nice and surprisingly quiet for lunch. Food was good! My only complaint was that I wish the pasta plate was a little larger. Perhaps have a junior pasta and the full. I needed a little bit more. The pepperoni pizza, delish...never fails. The best thing I love about this place is its coffee mug. They are very unique and keep the coffee hot for a good amount of time. Swanky Benedict: It's like chicken and waffles but fried chicken on a biscuit and bacon with hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were really crunchy and good! Shakshouka: Everything complemented each other very nicely, and the dish was very delicious. I thought there would be more toast. Two pieces weren't enough, and it's more of a small portioned breakfast than the other dishes on their menu. One thing I have to note is that both of the foods were a little cold. This location was suggested for brunch and I'm glad I didn't pass. We did call ahead and add our name to the wait list about 20mins out. We were told at the moment there was a 20-30 min wait, we arrived in about 20 mins and still had about a 15 min wait, not bad wait. Our server was very nice. The restaurant was & clean. Our food came our hot and as ordered. My only small complaint the chicken strips were unseasoned. I mean absolutely no season but fried just like I like them. We stopped here while traveling to enjoy a leisurely brunch before heading to the airport. This was the perfect place to relax! Everything from the seating and ambience to the friendly service made it a comforting experience. The food was delicious! I loved that they had a full gluten free menu with many different options. The sweet tea had the perfect balance of light sweetness and great flavor of tea. We arrived early on a holiday, so it wasn't very busy in the first photo. By the time we left, it became busy. I was in the area for a quick Yelp Elite event. I had my son with me and he was having a rough day, so I decided to have some one on one time with him instead of just heading back to Poquoson. So we walked across the parking lot go Baker's Crust it was a nice day outside so we were able to sit outside where it was pretty quiet. It was the perfect setting to sit and connect. We were seated promptly. The hostess was kind and helpful. She sat us down and soon after the waitress came out with a other waiter who was being trained. They both did a wonderful job the entire time we were there. We were treated to a sampling of their tomato cheese soup and potato chips. That was just awesome! I loved being able to sample some of their go to menu items for others. I ordered the French onion soup, chicken shawarma pita sandwich with a side of pasta salad. The soup was fantastic!!! The pasta salad was great. I was pleasantly surprised. It was not too heavy and I loved the pasta they chose. The pita sandwich was large! I had a few bites and brought the rest home for dinner for my husband. He said it was amazing and would like to go try Baker's Crust the next time we are in Norfolk. The atmosphere at Baker's Crust is great! From what I could see when inside it was nice, and quaint. It was bright inside as well. Outdoors is a nice patio setting . There are dog bowls outside so I assume it is pet friendly. We will definitely return! read more

For lunch/dinner? Yes! Breakfast? Ehh. So glad we stopped around a time when breakfast food wasn't on the agenda, because I never would've thought to visit here. Took a minute to be greeted as it was quite empty inside around 4pm. Beautiful inside that brings a bit of peace to your day. Once seated, our waitress was great from start to end. Happy hour is from 4-6 with $7 cocktails so of course I got a mimosa. Blood orange should be your go to! I ordered the Jalapeño & cheddar club which was absolutely amazing. Not too much of a taste of jalapeño though. Definitely ask for the herb Mayo with it! I opted to get fries inside of the Parmesan chips ($1.50 up charge). Fries were just okay, so I may try the chips next time! Overall great experience that has changed my mind some about Baker's Crust and I'm glad this location was able to do that. read more

Alright, Yelp - I'm falling victim to the immediate rave, but I gotta do it! I stopped in the area today to pick up materials for our Yelp event on Thursday from Board & Brush, and Baker's Crust was right next door. Since it was lunchtime and I was starving, I decided to stop in and pick something up to-go quick. I'm still not doing indoor dining at this point, so I hopped in, ordered and the hostess brought my order outside for me. From what I was able to take in of the inside quick, it's a really cute space and looked like they were doing social distancing well with tables. The place has a wood-fire oven, and that's where I went -- I love me a good wood-fired pizza, and they are HARD to come by. Well, I ordered the prosciutto and arugula pizza. It was $15 -- so you hope it's amazing, and WOW. Just WOW. Fresh mozzarella, a perfect tomato sauce, exquisite crust, salty prosciutto and tart arugula. What a combo! I ate half in my car for lunch, and then reheated the second half to eat here at home for dinner (and it held up well with reheating in the oven on 350). I don't feel bad about not having a side salad because there was literally so much salad on my pizza, I didn't miss a thing! If I had a critique, that'd be it -- I could have done with about half the greens, and I took off quite a few. And at the original lunch eating, the bottom crust was soft and didn't hold up the toppings very well. But in the second reheating for dinner, it was perfect after a little extra baking. EASY 4 1/2 stars on this one folks. Loved it. And if I'm in the area again, I'll try more things to see if it truly is at 5 star level! read more

Celiac Foodie: Wow! I ordered the Chicken & Cheddar Sandwich with Gluten Free Kettle Chips (bagged) and it was delicious. Gluten Free sandwich bread was really delicious, fluffy and slightly sweet. Ugh, I hate to do this because Baker's Crust was a favorite of mine growing up. My latest visit, though, left me unsatisfied. I want to remind anyone reading this that I stopped by on 7/15/20 - during the pandemic and, from what I've gathered, they just reopened because of COVID-19. So they're likely not fully staffed and not fully trained/retrained. I didn't call ahead - my mom and I just left Sentara Norfolk and decided on dinner at the last minute. I walked in, grabbed a menu and we looked it over in the truck. While I was in there, I noticed Baker's was open for dining - it looked like they were practicing proper social distancing procedures (seating at every other table, no patrons at the bar and posted signs requiring that masks be worn in order to enter their establishment), while the entire staff were wearing facemasks and gloves. Mom opted for the chicken shawarma and I picked the tuna and avocado poké (which was listed in the appetizer section, if that makes any difference). The hostess, Ayela, was also taking care of take-away orders. She was pleasant and took my order and payment without issue. She proceeded to tell me that it would take 10-15 minutes for my dinner to be ready. That sounded good, but based on my observation there didn't seem to be a sense of urgency from anyone working. I watched as the BOH staff seemed to be chillin' while preparing dishes. The pizza maker looked lethargic while simply cutting a pizza pie he just pulled out of the oven. Then he dropped something as he was using the peel - there was a plate or something on the end of it that fell off. Nice and loud - it likely startled someone. What bothered me, besides the slow motion look of the staff, was I could see my order was ready. The poké went into one bag while it awaited the shawarma; then the shawarma came up and went into a completely separate bag. The expo person's job seemed to include pulling orders from the window to be trayed and placing the togo orders on a counter. Taking the extra step of bagging the orders correctly wasn't there. So both items from my order sat on a counter in separate bags, along with other togo orders. Ayela was the only person bagging up the togo orders - she sat three separate parties while my order was chillin' on the counter near the pizza prep station. Then my social distancing radar kicked in when a customer walked right up to me, WITHOUT a mask, to announce she had arrived to pick up her togo order. I got up and walked away from her - sorry, I wasn't feeling that (oh yeah, since I didn't mention it before, I was wearing my mask the entire time). Ayela got back to the station, saw the food and she noticed my order was in two separate bags. She sorted that out, threw in what turned out to be like 20 sheets of paper napkins, walked over and gave me the bag. Ayela seemed to be the only one working - while she was seating customers and bussing empty tables all the togo orders were neglected. The biggest insult was after I got home and inspected my order. I already knew when I ordered it that Baker's poké doesn't come with rice. What I didn't realize is the one thing that makes a poké bowl, the fish, would be so sparse. My guess is there was 1 ounce (2 oz. at best) of tuna - the only ingredient that was smaller were the rainbow microgreens. I felt like I was shorted - that entree was NOT worth $15. It tasted good, though, I'll give it that, but I should've ordered something else or bought a bowl from an actual poké spot. But I wanted to try Baker's poké bowl since it was on the menu. Mom liked her chicken shawarma - it filled her up although she commented that the entire entree wasn't as big the pita it was served in. Baker's Crust is still a fine spot but I didn't see urgency or teamwork from the staff and I felt shortchanged because of poké bowl. JV read more

First time here and can't wait to come back and try more delicious items on the menu. I kept going back and fourth between so many items. I finally decided on the BC Combo and I'm so glad I did. The salad was so good with the fruit, goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette. WINE COUNTRY grapes, strawberries, candied pecans, parmesan, mixed greens, goat cheese, raspberry vinaigrette.  I paired it with the PROSCIUTTO CAPRESE sliced roasted turkey, capicola ham, prosciutto, arugula, fresh mozzarella, mayo, oven-roasted tomatoes, balsamic glaze, artisan baguette.  The combo was so delicious. I got the best of both sides. The baguette was a little hard to eat because of the texture, but it was so good. I would normally give Baker'S Crust 4 star review but my food and experience today on my To Go order was less than gratifying. Upon walking in I was promptly greeted and I asked for a menu and advised that I can walk to the bar to place my order. I noticed that the normal Salmon salad that I have previously ordered was no longer on the menu. I can only assume that this is an updated Fall menu. I ordered my salad and asked for it to be cooked Medium Rare. After waiting for an extensive period of time I was given my salad with no dressing. I am glad I made that observation before leaving. My server promptly took care of that. I drove off. Upon reaching my destination I opened my salad to devour it and it was information that my salmon was way over cooked. As a pescatarian it's imperative that my fish be cooked the way I like. If you were a steak lover and received your steak not cooked to your liking. Most likely you would return it. If I would have been close I would have returned the salad In all honesty is was lacking in so many ways. Salmon over cooked and under seasoned. And the salad itself lacked a appetizing flavor combination. It was very bland. I was very dissatisfied that I paid a little over $20 for a salad that was not very good. I did not enjoy it one bit. I went here after church service while visiting one of my friends for the weekend. Unfortunately the service was average and the food was as well. I tried their avocado toast and the greek yogurt bowl. The avocado toast was just ok, but I should have asked for it to not have hummus on it. Seemed like a weird addition when I was reading it on the menu and it actually was. The yogurt bowl was good but unfortunately warm. The food was picked up on time but it was not warm. I received a text that my order was ready for pick up at 11:23. Another coworker called the restaurant and was given a horrible attitude by the guy answering the phone that "we don't do orders like that, we do the orders as they come in." She was livid. This location needs work. We were first seated next to the bathroom and asked if we could move. The waitress got a little snappy (rude) and moved us but it wasn't until I noticed that when I looked up for some reason towards the bar, the woman behind the bar along with 2 waitresses and 1 waiter literally started talking about us in front of us. They mentioned they wanted to move and then the chatter and laughs and stares started. It was truly unprofessional. In the past we have had functions here because it is not too far from the Naval Station but I am already in the process of locating another Resturant who is a little more friendly in that aspect. There is no reason to spend $240.00 and be subject to this unprofessionalism. They could have simply went to the back and spoke about us instead of making us feel uncomfortable. I will ensure to spread the word to my counterparts because there are many other restaurants that will be glad to accommodate us if we were not happy with our seating. read more

We are regulars for the half-priced Neapolitan Pizza you get in Thursdays after 6:00 pm and service is consistently good, appetizers delish, cocktails and beer always excellent. The pizza the is best in Norfolk and we love the friendly ambiance of the dining room. read more

This is the second time I've been at this location and the food never disappoints. We love the calamari here - delicious! My wife ordered their turkey club and salad and it was really, really good. So good, that when there was an issue with my order and I was given the option to get something else - I decided to order the turkey club. Here's why I give it five starts though. The outstanding service! Like I mentioned above, there was an issue with my food. Almost immediately, the waitress (Carla) came through and took care of it, but above and beyond - the manager came over to our table and apologized for the issue and began to offer ways to make it right. I wasn't angry, or irate, just a bit disappointed. But that quickly turned around after I saw the actions the waitress and manager took in making sure we have a good dining experience. And THAT alone, to me, deserves five stars. Customer service always makes a difference. We finished our lunch, had some good laughs with the waitress, enjoyed the rest of our food and had a memorable lunch date with my wife. If I could give this location zero stars I would. This location needs some improvements (specifically this location). We waited for 40mins to get seated and I didn't even get good service. My food: Scrambled eggs was burned and just had a slice of cheese thrown on it and it wasn't even melted.  I asked for the cheese to be scrambled into the eggs. I could of did better then that at home!!! My drink: my first drink was stuffed with ice from top to bottom. There was so much ice I could barely get the straw in the cup to drink the juice! I asked for a drink with very little ice and I received a drink with very very little juice in it. Even a toddler would of been unsatisfied with the amount of juice that was in that cup. The only thing that was good about coming here was the help I received from one of the nice waiters that was there. I spilled a drink and it was a mess but thanks to her help and kindness everything was ok. Alissa my own server didn't even attempt to help me after I told her "excuse me I have a problem ". I went to both the Ghent and Greenbrier location in one day; for breakfast the Mediterranean omelet was exactly what I needed to start my day. Paired with the Wine Country salad and a mimosa, and my day was golden. At the end of the evening I had a craving for tomato bisque and so that what I ordered for my meal, with an appetizer of fries (fantastic if dipped in the tomato and cheese soup) and a very large Mediterranean salad.
