This is THE place for gluten free meals and darn good for food in general We tried egg white omelette, Maryland omelette, gluten free classic Benedict, hot chocolate, pastrami sandwich, turkey sando, roasted tomato and mozzarella gf sando Sometimes you don't get what you think you will. Hash browns are really home fries. Gf English muffins were out so bread subbed without notice. Such changes are fine-- everything still edible--it just adds to the "ok not blow me away" tendency here The pastrami sandwich is really good though! The meat is excellent and it has the traditional toppings. Service friendly Ambiance comfortable. Military discount read more

Looking back at my photos from this visit brings a bittersweet feeling because the person I came here with is no longer in my life. However, looking past the personal nostalgia, my objective view of Baker's Crust remains incredibly high. This place truly delivers a solid dining experience. Here is my honest breakdown of the food and the vibe: The Fried Chicken & Egg: The fried chicken was absolutely delicious--the sauce they used was incredible and paired so well with the crispiness. As you can see from my photos, the fried egg on top was cooked to absolute perfection. The Drinks: The presentation of the food and drinks was beautiful and highly aesthetic. Just a little heads-up on the cocktails/drinks: they definitely pour them strong here! It gave me a tiny bit of a buzz, so pace yourself if you aren't looking to get tipsy too quickly. The Ambience & Service: The service was attentive and thoughtful throughout our meal. The AC was adjusted perfectly--not too cold, not too hot. The only minor downside to the environment is that it can get a little loud and bustling inside. Parking Tip: Since it's located in a busy commercial area, finding a parking spot can be a bit of a challenge. Give yourself a few extra minutes to park. When to visit: This spot is the ultimate destination if you want to catch up with friends, talk business in a casual setting, or simply treat yourself to a relaxing weekend morning. Honestly, it's best enjoyed on the weekend when you can actually slow down. Coming here on a busy weekday might not feel as worth it, simply because you won't have the time to truly sit back and savor the atmosphere. Even though times change and people move on, this place remains a wonderful spot for creating good moments. read more

Celiac review! PARKING AND ACCESSIBILITY Parking is easy in a private (shared) lot. It is accessible but no automated doors. The bathroom, technically accessible (single room bathrooms), isn't great depending on the disability. One grab bar on the wall next to the sink, the toilet is high up and so is the sink. No surfaces to put items on, no hooks. SERVICE AND VIBES Every staff member here was friendly and accommodating. The music isn't too loud. Our server Athena was really sweet and gave us recommendations for activities around town. THE GLUTEN FREE EXPERIENCE I had to ask for a gluten free menu, which was separate. So many options! And the menu lists the ingredients of all their gluten-free bread substitutes. They're using Udi's for sandwich and burger buns and schar for English muffins, pizza crust, and pasta. When they take your order, make sure you explicitly tell them you're ordering from the gluten free menu, as several items are identical to the regular menu. If you have an allergy or celiac disease, ask them to note that. They have a button on their handheld device for celiac disease (and other allergies). When they set down my sandwich they said "this is the gluten free sandwich". Mine came with a sealed bag of cape cod chips (as opposed to the house made potato chips). The bread is how udi's is. It fell apart pretty fast. It was good and they didn't under fill the sandwich. The server knew what celiac was. read more

Never and I mean never order takeout from here. For a $30+ entree, they gave me 4 of the tiniest shrimps. Multiple orders of salmon have been the skinniest fillets I've ever seen. Thankfully my experience in person has been more positive but I am dismayed to see the consistently vast difference in food quality when ordering to go, not to mention the long wait. read more

March 2026 My friend & I have been planning to get brunch here together. We visited the restaurant at 10am on a Sunday morning & to my surprise there was only a short wait for a table. We skipped the starters but ordered cocktails. I had the Lavender Lemon Cocktail & my friend ordered the blood orange mimosa! Alex, our waiter was kind, professional & took great care of us! He offered some great suggestions with a smile too! I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake French toast & it was even better than it sounds. The filling was light & fluffy without being too sweet. read more

So glad to come back to Bakers crust after a long hiatus. A friend invited me to join her and another Yelp Elite for a Galentines dinner. The Galentine's menu contained a drink, two choices for food and a dessert I went with a cold brew martini, the sliders, the fries, and a raspberry cheesecake. Everything was fantastic. I wish I had saved enough room for finishing my dessert. I just brought the dessert home for later. A very successful Valentine's Day dinner. The place was busy. I'm sure it was because of Sunday being the last day for the Valentine's Day dinner menu anddinner and Valentine's Day weekend. The service was really nice. Everyone was super friendly. I knew they have great happy hour during the week, so I'm gonna be coming back for that as well as brunch . read more

Loved the food! Atmosphere was terrific and the service was great! Lots of variety on the menu. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and the crust was phenomenal. My colleague ordered a rice bowl with chicken and she loved it. Would visit this place again! read more

Consistently great! I brought my Dad hear AGAIN for lunch on a pretty busy Friday. Our young male server was delightful. He was very busy with a large 14 top table as well but certainly made time to ensure our drinks were refilled, etc. The wine country salad is still a favorite of mine. This time I did the combo and split it with the tomato and cheese soup. The atmosphere was bustling but still pleasant to have a nice conversation at lunch. read more

First time dining in for dinner at Bakers crust the layout itself was very spacious and I love that about restaurants that I dine into because you want to have that private area of you're coming in with a date or we're friends and then of course if you want to have that group setting they do have a section where they have a booth/tables and that's always very convenient for larger parties so it's definitely a big establishment where they can cater to both a solo dinner date night or even a group setting. I been to the Greenbrier location for brunch and this was my first time at the Norfolk location. I appreciate the service as well as the special that they had going on was a Galentine's dinner for this week special an the menu was actually a good price for the amount of food and include a alcohol alcoholic beverage or nonalcoholic beverage, which to me was a plus and unique way to get people to come to the business as well as they do do happy hour where they incorporate food and drinks as well with a discounted rate so this is definitely a good choice for those that like to get that perfect bundle of food/drink special. I actually went with a couple of friends that I met off the Yelp elite community and we decided to do a girls dinner and it was actually a very fun experience audience and I would say that the choices on the menu were very spot on of a classic girl dinner where they had a side of Caesar salad that was actually good on the flavor department, but the only thing was the salad was whole was a little bit hard to eat just because of it and be more of like a spinach base where it had a lot of the whole parts and not chopped up. That was the only thing but definitely still amazing with flavor that was one of the most flavorful salads that I've had at a restaurant. The sliders were also a good pairing for the drink that , which was blackberry bourbon, not too heavy and not to light and very more of that classic snack size to incorporate the menu itself well as well and the toppings on the burger we're classic as well as very, not overpowering with the flavor of the burger itself. The last and the best thing that any girl would love to have after a long evening is a dessert a this white chocolate coconut cake was a showstopper. It was like creamy and not too heavy and more of an airy. Another thing that I did like about this baker crust is that they incorporate each section where you can see the action of the portion where the pizzas are being made fresh right then an there and than of course you have your traditional chef's kitchen area, where all the magic happens but I definitely did like that chef table like experience. Were you able to see them come into work with what food they craft as well as the drinks overall, I would recommend this place and I've been to both Chesapeake an now in Norfolk and I've been to both brunch and now dinner and I would be going there more often to see the other menu options as well as happy hour special that they serve read more

My husband and I came here with a group. It was our first time at Baker's Crust. The food was pricey and there were some added fees that could have been explained better by the server beforehand. We passed by a number of Baker's Crusts in the area and we're looking forward to eating there, however, the food just tasted okay and in our opinion wasn't worth the high price. A number of people in our party also weren't impressed with the food, although one person who ordered the Blueberry Lemon Curd Flapjacks was happy with his meal. I ordered the Fish and Chips, which was hot and filling but was barely seasoned. The environment was spacious and clean. The waiter was friendly. Pros: Friendly service, clean, filling meal, good portions, can accommodate large groups Cons: Taste of food does not match up to the high price, fees weren't explained beforehand read more

We go quite often so this has been some issues ongoing. Service so slow had to wait 20 minutes for table for 2. Waiter was like we were taking up his time. When we ordered. He brought our drinks but the staff was standing around Bar talking not refilling drinks. After waiting 20 minutes for food I flagged waiter down he checked and said our food next and apologized. Then 20 minutes later he brought it with manager who also apologized they said food was very hot be careful! It was not and was not wife hot his and chips it was greasy and cold. Fries looked like had beef sitting a while. We did not complain they saw how bad food was did not charge for that item. Other wasn't great but eatables. Offered to remake but we had already waited 40 minutes for food. read more

This was my first time at this Baker's Crust, and I thought everything was pretty good for the most part. I'll admit that this Baker's Crust is a little smaller than the other ones I have visited in the area. Fortunately for us, we did not have to wait too long for a table on an early Sunday afternoon (or as I call it post-chuch "happy hour). For my dinning pleasure, I went with the Chicken and Waffle. Although I'm not a huge fan of places serving chicken tenders instead of chicken wings for Chicken and Waffles, I thought the dish was good. Overall, everyone at our table were happy with their dishes. I thought the service at the table was pretty good because two or three waiters constantly checked in with us. I'll admit that I'm not a huge fan of members of service teams constantly stopping by the table, but I know some folks really like this, so I don't get too out of sorts about this. I'll say I thought service at the bar could have been a bit better. In my opinion, I thought the bartender was a bit distracted by other folks eating and drinking at the bar because it took us about 5 minutes just to get his attention and 15 minutes to get our drinks. Other than that very minor blip, the staff was pretty on point. Food prices were pretty decent compared to other similar restaurants in the area. The menu has a nice variety of dish, so I think everyone should find something that they would like. All in all, I'd more than likely would stop by this Baker's Crust if I'm in the area. read more

Yelp Review for Baker's Crust - Norfolk, VA I first discovered Baker's Crust Norfolk after watching a segment on the local news showcasing their mouthwatering crepes. They featured three different types, and from that moment, I was sold--I had to try it. Ever since my first visit, I've been hooked and find myself going back time and time again. In the early days, they had a cozy little bakery area where you could buy fresh-baked desserts and breads to take home. Sadly, that section seems to be gone, but the overall experience and quality have stayed top-tier. The menu at Baker's Crust is diverse and impressive, covering breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner--with gluten-free options, indulgent desserts, and creative libations all included. Here's just a taste of what they offer: Breakfast & Brunch Breakfast Beginnings: Avocado toast, housemade heavenly cinnamon rolls Brunch Buzz & Mayhems (Cocktails): Summer Sangria, Blueberry Mojito, Breakfast Margarita, Manmosa, Tequila Sunrise Breakfast Favorites: Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit, The Baker's Breakfast (2 eggs any style, bacon or maple sausage, toast, and hash browns), Steak & Eggs Frites, Pastrami Hash Waffles, Flapjacks & French Toast: Belgian Waffles, Chicken & Waffles, Bacon Waffles, Riviera French Toast, Jamaican French Toast, Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast, Blueberry & Lemon Curd Flapjacks Omelets: West Coast, Mid-Atlantic, Maryland, Egg White Veggie, and Shrimp & Asparagus Eggs Benedicts: The Classic, Baltimore Benedict, Swanky Benedict, Carnegie Benedict Breakfast Sides: Applewood Bacon, Eggs Your Way, Maple Sausage Links, Hash Browns, Seasonal Fruit, Greek Yogurt Lunch & Dinner Starters: Calamari, Southwest Woodfire Crab Dip, Crispy Parmesan Garlic Cauliflower Salads & Bowls: Chicken & Veggie Bowl, Quinoa Ahi Bowl, Southern Fried Chicken Bowl, Wine Country Salad, Classic Caesar, Greek Salad, Grilled Salmon Summer Salad, Lemon Basil Harvest Salad Protein Add-ons: Grilled Chicken, Grilled Salmon, Grilled Shrimp, Ahi Tuna Sides: Caesar Salad, House Salad, Housemade Palm Chips, Lemon Parmesan Asparagus, Fruit Salad, Pasta Salad, Roasted Vegetables Handhelds & Sandwiches: Chicken & Cheddar Panini, Malibu Sandwich My Favorites Some of my personal favorites include the burgers, crab cake, and of course, the crepes--especially the Jamaican one! For breakfast, I never leave disappointed. Every dish is full of flavor, beautifully presented, and satisfying. --- Whether you're going for a quick brunch with friends, a relaxed date night, or treating yourself to a great breakfast, Baker's Crust in Norfolk is a solid pick. The menu is creative and full of choices, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend giving it a try! read more

Had a great lunch here today. Sat promptly with two small kiddos and good service. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. The staff in general seemed very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks we had were awesome. My SIL ordered a Bloody Mary and she said it was fantastic and she got the grinder with the homemade Parmesan chips which were a nice change from the normal fries or chips. I had the shrimp and crab pasta which was amazing. The bacon was a tad overdone but not terrible and didn't ruin the dish. Our only qualm was we ordered salads to come out before the meal and they came out with the meal. It was pretty busy around 1pm on a Wednesday but not loud. Would be happy to return. read more

Three of us going to the Josh Groban show decide to go to Bakers Crust for a bite around 5ish Sunday. Service was great and I cannot remember for the life of me our servers name. Extremely knowledgeable of menu. Assisted with our decision, 2 had the lemon almond pesto salmon on orzo with grilled asparagus. It was so delicious. My first time having pesto. I wanted more however I chose half turkey sandwich and ceasar salad. Good thing I displayed fairly good manners, ate my own and just a couple bites of the delicious salmon my friend reluctantly shared. As first timers at BC in 30 or more years our server was very helpful and expertly attentive. We will come back soon. read more

Run, don't walk, as far away from this place as possible. It's awful. They are just phoning it in. Last night we went for the pizza. Ordered calamari app and two pizzas and all were delivered at once. I complained and was asked did I want pizza taken off. No! I want my appetizer delivered to my table before my entree. I mean seriously this is restaurant 101! Server just shrugged. Took cold pizza home and tried to re heat and eat but Twas awful and went into trash. And for this I paid 45.00. read more

Love this place! The food is always good! I had the CHARLESTON CHICKEN & AVOCADO buttermilk fried chicken, honey beurre blanc, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard, brioche roll, side of house-made parmesan chips. (not available for combo). The chicken is full of flavor but not greasy. The avocado is perfectly creamy. There is just enough honey mustard. The bun is Devine and the bacon oh my! Loved the Parmesan chips. My daughter had the MALIBU SANDWICH sliced roasted turkey, avocado, mozzarella, cucumber, tomato, arugula, herb mayo, multigrain bread, side of house-made parmesan chips. Excellent! The server was very nice. Not pushy. Refreshed our water and ice tea often. read more

Take with a grain of salt... literally! We had the swanky benedict (no bacon), the bc breakfast biscuit (sub bacon for sausage), the mimosa pitcher, and a cinnamon roll for dessert. The food for both me and my date lacked seasoning. We salted our own food and the chicken can be described as having a bouncy texture. So it was a little tough to chew... wouldn't recommend for anybody with dentures!! We wish we would have gotten the lemon blueberry flapjacks instead. We figured the bacon was supposed to compensate for the lack of flavor. The mimosas were yummy and so was the cinnamon roll. Alex, our server, was very attentive as well! read more

The service was good. My waiter didn't hover over me but he made sure to check up on me at least once both before and after the food arrived. The restaurant has a cozy feel to it and was moderately packed. The clientele is about 70/30 70% old and 30% young. I think this explains why my food was kind of bland. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. I had a Benedict with fired chicken and bacon. The side potatoes were perfectly crisped and seasoned. The bacon on the Benedict was just a touch soft and the fried chicken was more like breaded baked chicken that lacked seasoning. I would not be surprised if they cater their food more towards their older clientele who happen to be the majority. Overall it was a beautiful restaurant with a cute cozy feel but I'll probably stick to burger night. On the upside I've noticed that they are generous with the wine pours. read more

Bakers Crust is always tasty and the service is great. I think they have one of the best cheeseburgers in Hampton Roads. This time I tried their Asiago Chicken with Asparagus and Risotto and it was almost perfect. If they had only cooked it just 3 minutes longer it would have been. The chicken was just at the point of being a little chewy and the asparagus was just a little too crunchy. I know it needed 3 more minutes because, prior to dinner, my friends and I indulged in loaded parmesan chips and artichoke/spinach dip. Consequently, I was forced to take half of my dinner home. The next day I warmed it in the microwave for 3 minutes and it was absolutely perfect. That Asiago sauce was divine!!! read more

I went here for brunch with a party of 9. I usually don't like going out to eat with big parties because it gets confusing for the servers and the wait for the food usually be really long. First Impression, very industrial design and felt like a very high end Panera Bread (no offense! ) but in the small business way that offers and authentic flare. I did not get to see the display case as pictured on the other reviews so I had to guess abut everything. In terms of prices, I would say that they are on the higher side ( paid $11.99 for a SLICE if carrot cake) and I almost had and $80 bag. I tried each ( ch.chip and double chocolate) cookie, the cheesecake, carrot cake, and the bread pudding. My most favorite was the carrot cake and the least favorite was the cookies. read more
