Came here for dinner with friends. It was packed and we had about a 25min wait. Once our table was ready we were seated and our sever came to check on us quickly. We ordered drinks while we looked over the menu. I got the Tito's lemonade after asking our server's recommendation and it was really good. For entire I got the chicken & veggie bowl but substituted shrimp for chicken, it was a &3 up-charge but the size of the shrimp was decent so I couldn't complain. I really enjoyed the dish, the veggies were flavorful and I loved the creamy balsamic vinaigrette it had. It was burger night so one friend got a burger and another got the chicken alfredo. They both enjoyed their meals. I don't come here often but when I do the food is always great!!
Stopped in around 7pm on a Thursday and was seated after about a five minute wait. The place was clean and had a comfortable, casual vibe. Service was excellent. Kara was my server and she struck that perfect balance of warm and friendly without feeling scripted or like she had just completed a corporate training video on "How To Smile At Guests." I ordered a blackberry margarita that isn't even on the menu, and she later came back with genuine curiosity about how it turned out. That kind of attentiveness is rare. The margarita itself was excellent too. Bright blackberry flavor and, thankfully, not drowned in simple syrup like some places seem contractually obligated to do. I ordered the fennel sausage and sweet onion pizza. Worth noting: pizza is half off on Thursdays from 4-9pm and all draft beers are $5, which is a very dangerous combination if you have even a moderate amount of self-control issues. Flavor-wise the pizza was good. The fennel sausage was nicely seasoned and worked well with the sweet onion. The one issue was the cheese. It did not appear to have formed any sort of meaningful attachment to the pizza. Each slice came with what can only be described as a full cheese blanket sliding off the top like a landslide. Not ideal. I'm not sure what the technical pizza science is behind making cheese actually stick, but whatever that step is... it may have been skipped here. Overall though, service was quick and friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the margarita alone was worth the stop. With the Thursday specials, it's an easy place to drop in for a casual dinner.
Went here Wednesday around 5 pm for Happy Hour and their Burgers and Bourbon night. It was busy at this time, but we didn't have a wait for a table. To drink, I ordered the Harvest Sangria (10/10) I loved the flavor and fizz. I did taste the Blackberry Bourbon and felt like it was overly strong and didn't have an actual blackberry flavor. To eat, I ordered a Maple Bacon Smash Burger (9/10) it was cooked well, fresh, and flavorful. Only thing missing was it not having a lot of sauce on it because it was a tad bit dry. I ordered some ranch on the side. Def will be back again! My overall rate of experience : 8/10
This is a restaurant that I really wanted to like. But my expectations weren't met with the food. On a frigid day the server first said the has no coffee of any kind, that they got it from somewhere else. Now what Breakfast, Brunch & Dinner spot doesn't have coffee? Later he came back and said they had gotten some. Very strange. The menu was extensive. I was torn between the Pastrami Benedict and the Pastrami Hash, both was which were billed as being from Carnegie Deli in New York. I asked him if it really came from Carnegie and he confirmed. I settled on the Hash, which I now regret. The hash wasn't like a hash I had ever eaten. The pieces were large with a three egg covering, which I ordered medium but were actually well. The pieces of what must have been pastrami were crunchy. It appeared to have been a dish prepared hours earlier that has sat too long. The service was good except for the server having forgotten the coffee refill we had asked for. He had to be reminded. The decor was lovely. The granite table top where we were seated was the same pattern as one of my bathroom vanity choices. The booth was padded and quite comfortable. I was surprised to see in their bathroom the same fixtures I used in mine. It was a comfortable, happy feeling place which appeared to be popular with those who live in the area. The location is in an outer parcel of Greenbrier Market Center, a large shopping area on the southwest corner of Greenbrier & Volvo Parkways. My rating is 2.5 rounded up to 3. I won't try the eatery again.
Brunch with a quiet atmosphere this definitely the place for you to unwind and enjoy a relaxing breakfast. Super impressed with the service here our server was absolutely wonderful and made us feel welcome and very friendly with us and we set outside not bad at all and she very attentive to make sure we were good which was extra plus very fast with service here not a long wait at all on weekday. And they have special throughout the week for those who like to dine in on a weekday and enjoy some tasty bites. They did have a good selection when it came to their food for brunch and of course drinks as well. I got there buttermilk pancakes very classic and light not to heavy and breakfast potatoes those were a show stopper definitely the best I have so far at brunch spot. For drinks I tried their summer sangria I appreciate them adding real fruit and making It outside its traditional appearance and it was fruit forward and sweet where it was just right. The server was super sweet she gave a surprise sweet treat for the holiday as it was our first time trying out the restaurant was very thoughtful and nice and we will be more regulars here and I would highly recommend this place if you want more of a calm relaxed brunch experience.
Bakers Crust is a great restaurant in the Greenbriar area of Chesapeake. It shares a parking lot with a larger shopping area, so parking is ample. Recently they re-vamped their menu with some great additions. Decor is pleasant and tasteful the mural on the far wall is fitting to their commitment to fresh natural ingredients. On this visit I had the pleasure of being served by Alyssa. She is on point with her knowledge of the menu and very polite. I ordered a cup of the tomato cheese soup to start off. It is like a tomato bisque that is on another level, creamy with great cheeses and tomato flavor topped with a perfect blend of seasoning. For the main course I tried the **NEW** Chesapeake smash burger, and it did not disappoint. the combo of corn and sundried tomato relish paired with boiled crab dip on two smash patties makes your tastebuds rejoice.
In the past 2 weeks, I've been to Bakers Crust in Greenbrier 4 times!!!! Their new menu items are wonderful added additions! I always sit at the bar because the bar staff is always the best. On a Wednesday I came in for the Burgers and Burbon special. All their burgers(except the Chesapeake Bay Smash burger)and bourbon is 8 dollars. I enjoyed the maple bacon burger and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked. Lots of flavor. Filling!! Burgers and Fries. 8 dollars. What a deal!! Sit at the bar when you can there is Always someone cool to chat with. Perfect for a casual date night or night with friends. or a solo evening like me.
I had the Riviera French Toast with fresh fruit and it was great. Cory was my server and he was awesome. The coffee was also very good.
I've only been to Baker's Crust once before but remember I enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the corn chowder very much. I especially appreciate a place that serves fresh cut fries! Yum! NEX time, I plan to try their fresh cut chips! Today I went with a friend and decided o t he Ahi Tuna Burger - it was delicious and so were the fries ( nice and hot and crispy!). My friend said she enjoyed her pizza and side of fries, as well. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu. It's a cute place that I intend on going back to try their breakfast and brunch choices. In the area? Check Them Out!
We enjoyed Bakers Crust for a quick casual meal. I was glad to see some gluten free options although I was they offered more gluten free breakfast food like chicken and waffles and pancakes. My boyfriend's chicken and waffles looked great. The chicken was a little tough, so tough he accidentally dropped his knife trying to cut it, but the waffle was soft with great taste. I will say the gluten free bread was soft, which isn't always the case for GF bread. The sandwich was simple but good. I also enjoyed the side salad. This was close to our hotel and in a good area, so we may come back when we're back in town. I recommend fo a casual meal.
Service was fantastic! And food was great, served quickly too. The Jersey Grinder was so good, and the homemade chips were delicious!
I have been to two other bakers Cross but this is my first time in Chesapeake. Large inside with elegant yet casual decor. We ordered their mimosas that we're on special. I tried the blood orange and I enjoyed it. I also ordered the grilled chicken and veggie quinoa bowl. All the ingredients were grilled perfectly. The sauce poured over top was a nice touch. I highly recommend this dish. Our server was sweet and helped us in making our lunch decisions. Great spot for a family, catching up with friends, or for a date.
The service here is impeccable. This is my first time visiting, and they made me feel very comfortable. The waiter explained the menu thoroughly to me. And also suggested some menu options. I enjoyed the pizza which was made fresh. The ingredients were balanced on the pizza. The cinnamon bun was as large as my head. It wasn't too sweet, but definitely decadent. The ambience was very comfortable Somewhat trendy. I would definitely return.

I had lunch here recently with some friends and have to say it was pretty good. Not mind blowing, but definitely pretty good. This was my first visit to this location and Bakers Crust appears to have changed a little since the last time I walked through their doors. I was expecting just to order a sandwich from the counter and sit down, and the company appears to have grown up and turned into a full service restaurant. Our party of 3 was seated in a cozy dining room. The lights were dim and there is a fireplace in the center. After looking over the expanded menu I selected a Pepperoni, Sausage & Portabella Wood-Fired Pizza. My co-worker ordered a pizza as well and his wife had a seafood salad and soup combo. The lunch was good and our server was friendly and for the most part attentive, however service was on the slow side. The restaurant was only half full throughout our visit and it still took us a full hour and half from start to finish. Not good for a lunch hour... Hopefully they were only having a bad day in that respect. All in all I'll most certainly give them another try soon as I've always been a fan of the various breads they make, especially their Jalapeño & Cheddar. If your out in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake you may want to check them out. You can find them in the shopping center with Target, Barnes & Noble & Best Buy. read more

My husband had never been to Bakers Crust before so I decided to take him for lunch. It was very crowded yet we were seated immediately. We ordered an appetizer of prosciutto and fig bruschetta which was excellent. The sandwich I ordered was the chicken and bacon with a side of house made chips. The chips were very chewy and tasted like they were soaked in oil. My waitress was eager and quick to accommodate me replacing it with a side of my choice. I will definitely return to this establishment as the service was great! read more

$9 for a wedge salad!!!! I thought iceberg lettuce was $0.99 a head?!? Why is my salad $9?!?!? I understand the cost for crumbled bleu cheese must be expensive and a small handful of crumbled bacon must be a fortune but honestly - can we say overpriced? It didn't stop there either. I feel as though everything on their menu is overpriced especially because while the place is nice they aren't fancy-schmancy. I mean, c'mon they have higher end wicker chairs to sit in, what is this a garden party? In addition to my $9 wedge salad we ordered a wood fired BBQ chicken pizza. It was $13.50 for a 10 inch pie that had too much sauce and not enough chicken or cheese. They certainly weren't shy with the caramelized onions though. Overall this recent trip to BC (my third overall and last visit was 2010) and the removal of their kobe beef burger from the menu has solidified my desire to never return again. It's been years since I've been to Bakers Crust and it's changed a bit. I came here with a friend to have dinner on a Thursday evening and it was pretty busy. As you walk in through the first doors, it smelled horrible. It smelled like a wet and moldy mop, nasty smell. I wanted to vomit honestly from the foul smell. Anyhoo, there was a 10-15 wait, and as soon as we got called the host was going to sit us but the host was actually confused bc the table wasn't even ready yet. So she apologized and we wait another 5-10 minutes. The host finally sat us in a corner by the doors, which was perfect for us since I brought my daughter too. I then ask for a high chair and the host brings me one, but with a broken seat belt. So I asked for another one as I showed her the broken seat belt, and she was kind to bring another but unfortunately it was broken too. I didn't complain about this one this time, so instead I brought in my daughter's stroller to let her sit in and fed her that way. (Please fix this ASAP) As we were greeted by our waitress, she offered the Specials that was going on that day. THURSDAYS: They have $6 specials on Pizza! My friend and I shared a Pepperoni Pizza, which was pretty delicious for $6. Then we also ordered the pineapple sangria which was more than our Pizza lol, but it was sweet and good! Last buy not least, of course we had to order dessert which we ordered the Jamaican Crepe, with Bananas, Nutella, Coconut, Whipped Creme, Chocolate Syrup and Vanilla Beam Ice Cream... gah it's like heaven. But sadly to say it didn't taste the same as when I use to come here, it was runny and barely any Nutella in the crepe. I was pretty bummed out. Overall, I feel like this place went down hill from when I use to come here. I loved the Jamaican Crepe, and they ruined it for me this visit plus if they are gonna somewhat change the look of the place and the menu, they might as well replace some of the broken furniture, like the baby high chairs!! I did like the $6 deal for pizzas and the Sangria was good but a tad bit pricey for what it is!! read more

The Greenbrier location is one of my go-to lunch stops if working in Chesapeake. I almost always sit at the bar as this store regularly has a wait at lunch. The food is fresh and I have always witnessed the staff moving quickly and working fast. They usually have one or two stand-out beers on tap, to compliment some standards. Lyndsey is the normal daytime bartender and she is knowledgeable and attentive. I have had several of the sandwiches and have been a fan of each, along with the burgers. I usually get these with the house made garlic potato chips. I could probably eat two pounds of these (as a retired Marine, I do PT every morning, so don't necessarily do this) and believe they are prepared just right. They also have a small bakery and pizza oven right across from the bar and you can watch some of this activity while at the bar or at a high top. It really is a solid location. read more

I really enjoy anytime I make my way over to Baker's Crust. I think the decor is great, the service is right on point, the atmosphere is relaxing, & the food is delicious. I'm a big fan of getting the half sandwich/ half salad combo - which I'm telling you, do yourself a favor and get the 'Wine Country' salad (it has grapes, strawberries, candied pecans and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing, YUM!) I've had a few of the different sandwiches, the club is awesome and the roasted tomato & mozzarella panini might just be my favorite. If you're not into fancy sandwiches then Baker's Crust has you covered with a few different burgers to choose from. They serve brunch/breakfast as well as coffee and specialty coffee drinks. A great wine list, beer, and different liquor drinks are also up for grabs. Take your family, go with just the girls, or make it a special first date (or any date) at Baker's Crust in Greenbrier! read more

First time here. Friendly staff great food. My only criticism is that my server might have asked if I wanted a dessert. To be fair however it was 11am on a Friday and I made it clear I wanted breakfast so it's not a stretch to have made an assumption that dessert wasn't in order. read more

As many times as I've driven past this place over the years, this was my first time actually visiting. And I actually really liked it. After we were seated, we were greeted by an awesome server. He was very friendly and so helpful with some great meal suggestions. He was very attentive and wasn't rushing us for anything, even towards the end when it was close to closing time. My friend and I shared a white truffle & portobello pizza. I also got a chicken guacamole half sandwich with chips. The pizza was pretty good. It was a little greasy, but I actually enjoyed the taste other than that. My sandwich was delicious! I could have skipped the pizza for a whole sandwich. Their house-made chips were probably my favorite part of the meal. They were so crisp and crunchy, and I loved the cheese sprinkled over them! For dessert, I took a brownie to go. Our server warmed it up for us, which made it taste great. This place is pretty great. I just can't believe I hasn't visited sooner! read more

Sudan was amazing! She was extremely busy but still took the time to explain menu items and offer her opinions. It was my sons first time there and he loved everything. We started with pizza. Yum! Then burgers, amazing! Finally crepe for dessert. We will be back and Sudan will be our girl for sure!!! read more

Again, I found my way to this place while working in VA. It was on one of my loner nights and so I was a bit reluctant to go to a place like this (its very romantic and inviting for couples). Still, I was hungry and the menu looked good so I disregarded my initial doubt and ventured in. Like I said, its definitely a romantic date night scene. Lots of couples, double dates, a perfect ambiance for popping the question, and here I come alone with nothing but hunger. That quickly changed once my waitress seated me. She was so friendly and warm, it was almost like we were on a date! No, but seriously, kudos to the manager who hired her (I wish I remember her name). Anyway, not only did she make great menu suggestions, such as the chocolate crepes I had for dessert, but she was very engaging in small talk. She even recommended some other great places to stop during my stay. I'm still not sure if this is a chain or not, but one this is for certain, no matter where I am or why, if I see a place called Baker's Crust I am definitely going to eat there! read more

I absolutely LOVE Baker's Crust! I especially love the Chesapeake location because it's so close to my work and my favorite bartender is usually working when I go for lunch. She's the best and always makes me raspberry teas just the way I like it. Everything that I've tried there so far has been amazing. Both the Hawaiian Flat Iron Steak and the Atlantic Salmon with Risotto are my go-to orders each time. Both the brunch and the dinner menu have great options and aren't too overwhelming with options. Their customer service is excellent and I haven't had any complaints about either the servers, bartenders, or the hostess staff. I love it here! read more
Calamari is a time-sensitive food, so I should probably stop ordering it to-go. Baker's Crust curbside to-go is so slow that after more than the time they quoted had passed, I went inside to pick it up on my own...and it still wasn't ready. But it HAD to have been ready in the kitchen because by the time it got to me, it was lukewarm. Chewy calamari. Great... They didn't appear to be busy. It was 11am. read more

This place was excellent. I never heard of it and had a couple coworkers recommended it so I came in. From the time I entered, all of the staff were very warm and inviting, the menu is laid out nicely and my server was amazing as well. I wish I could remember her name to give a shout out but none the less this was perfect. I had the Smoked Turkey BLT with chips and it was made fresh and it was delicious. I've since recommended this place to people and I'll definitely be returning. read more

Go there and have brunch. No excuses. My parents used to live in this area and would take us here when we visited, and we always had a great time. The service is spot-on and the food is to die for. It is on the higher priced side of brunch places but you get so much good food it is more than fair. Liked the location of this particular restaurant. Food was good .. had a friendly waitress, she made sure we had everything we wanted and made sure we were satisfied with our order. Will come back here again. Liked that they have breakfast til 3 or so pm. read more

Can dogs sit on the patio?
I'm pretty sure dogs are allowed outside on the patio.
Does the restaurant allow large parties of around 22? Also is it possible to reserve a section of the restaurant just for that size party?
Bakers Crust is not a large restaurant; I suspect it would take forever to get 22 people fed. Let me say tho, the Chesapeake store makes a reservation for our regular group of 8 and they take good care of us. AND the quality of the food is…
How does the "curbside to go" works?
You order over the phone ahead of time. They'll ask for a description of your car. Pull up to the designated parking spot and someone will be out with your food and the check. Done. :)
