I have been here a few times now and have found that the quality of their food is quite consistent across the board. I've tried a couple different burgers and sandwiches and they are all fantastic! The most recent visit I brought out of town family and we split the calamari and some kind of loaded fries as appetizers and they were both amazing! The Greenbrier location is one of my go-to lunch stops if working in Chesapeake. I almost always sit at the bar as this store regularly has a wait at lunch. The food is fresh and I have always witnessed the staff moving quickly and working fast. They usually have one or two stand-out beers on tap, to compliment some standards. Lyndsey is the normal daytime bartender and she is knowledgeable and attentive. I have had several of the sandwiches and have been a fan of each, along with the burgers. I usually get these with the house made garlic potato chips. I could probably eat two pounds of these (as a retired Marine, I do PT every morning, so don't necessarily do this) and believe they are prepared just right. They also have a small bakery and pizza oven right across from the bar and you can watch some of this activity while at the bar or at a high top. It really is a solid location. read more

They serve an excellent breakfast/brunch. We had omelettes and they were delicious. Coffee is very good as well. Their menu isn't as extensive as another breakfast place in town which is the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars. They have outdoor seating and everything is clean with the staff wearing masks as well. Our server was Helena who was absolutely wonderful. She really went above and beyond. Initially, she had forgotten us when we were seated, but she more than made up for that once she realized. She was attentive, thoughtful, and throughly enjoyable. I had lunch here recently with some friends and have to say it was pretty good. Not mind blowing, but definitely pretty good. This was my first visit to this location and Bakers Crust appears to have changed a little since the last time I walked through their doors. I was expecting just to order a sandwich from the counter and sit down, and the company appears to have grown up and turned into a full service restaurant. Our party of 3 was seated in a cozy dining room. The lights were dim and there is a fireplace in the center. After looking over the expanded menu I selected a Pepperoni, Sausage & Portabella Wood-Fired Pizza. My co-worker ordered a pizza as well and his wife had a seafood salad and soup combo. The lunch was good and our server was friendly and for the most part attentive, however service was on the slow side. The restaurant was only half full throughout our visit and it still took us a full hour and half from start to finish. Not good for a lunch hour... Hopefully they were only having a bad day in that respect. All in all I'll most certainly give them another try soon as I've always been a fan of the various breads they make, especially their Jalapeño & Cheddar. My husband had never been to Bakers Crust before so I decided to take him for lunch. It was very crowded yet we were seated immediately. We ordered an appetizer of prosciutto and fig bruschetta which was excellent. The sandwich I ordered was the chicken and bacon with a side of house made chips. The chips were very chewy and tasted like they were soaked in oil. My waitress was eager and quick to accommodate me replacing it with a side of my choice. It's been years since I've been to Bakers Crust and it's changed a bit. I came here with a friend to have dinner on a Thursday evening and it was pretty busy. As you walk in through the first doors, it smelled horrible. It smelled like a wet and moldy mop, nasty smell. I wanted to vomit honestly from the foul smell. Anyhoo, there was a 10-15 wait, and as soon as we got called the host was going to sit us but the host was actually confused bc the table wasn't even ready yet. So she apologized and we wait another 5-10 minutes. The host finally sat us in a corner by the doors, which was perfect for us since I brought my daughter too. I then ask for a high chair and the host brings me one, but with a broken seat belt. So I asked for another one as I showed her the broken seat belt, and she was kind to bring another but unfortunately it was broken too. I didn't complain about this one this time, so instead I brought in my daughter's stroller to let her sit in and fed her that way. (Please fix this ASAP) As we were greeted by our waitress, she offered the Specials that was going on that day. THURSDAYS: They have $6 specials on Pizza! My friend and I shared a Pepperoni Pizza, which was pretty delicious for $6. Then we also ordered the pineapple sangria which was more than our Pizza lol, but it was sweet and good! Last buy not least, of course we had to order dessert which we ordered the Jamaican Crepe, with Bananas, Nutella, Coconut, Whipped Creme, Chocolate Syrup and Vanilla Beam Ice Cream... gah it's like heaven. But sadly to say it didn't taste the same as when I use to come here, it was runny and barely any Nutella in the crepe. I was pretty bummed out. Overall, I feel like this place went down hill from when I use to come here. I loved the Jamaican Crepe, and they ruined it for me this visit plus if they are gonna somewhat change the look of the place and the menu, they might as well replace some of the broken furniture, like the baby high chairs!! Very nice place! I ordered Wood-fired cheese pizza for the kids, which they absolutely loved! I had half of a Panini and half salad. The Portobello Panini was delicious! Everything from the focaccia bread to the veggies and gooeyness of the fresh mozzarella combined with the chili mayo and tangy goat cheese was just perfect! I had the Wine country salad. It was good but it has fruits, candied pecans and raspberry vinaigrette, so it was a little too sweet for me. They have a nice deal were you get 15% off if you do a "check-in" on facebook. I don't know if they always have it because it was my first time but it's a good deal. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is a little overpriced. Especially when I ordered Perrier and they served it in a glass of wine (half of the glass of wine, as if it was wine) and didn't bring the rest of the bottle, as they would do in other restaurants. They charged me almost $3 for a half glass of Perrier. Other than that I liked it and will go back again. I understand the cost for crumbled bleu cheese must be expensive and a small handful of crumbled bacon must be a fortune but honestly - can we say overpriced? It didn't stop there either. I mean, c'mon they have higher end wicker chairs to sit in, what is this a garden party? In addition to my $9 wedge salad we ordered a wood fired BBQ chicken pizza. It was $13.50 for a 10 inch pie that had too much sauce and not enough chicken or cheese. They certainly weren't shy with the caramelized onions though. Overall this recent trip to BC (my third overall and last visit was 2010) and the removal of their kobe beef burger from the menu has solidified my desire to never return again. Came here for New Year's brunch with my husband's family. This was my first time at a Baker's Crust and definitely will not be my last. I did the half and half option with the mushroom and brie soup along with the chicken and guac sandwich. The soup was great, I always get a mushroom soup when available and this one was up there with the best I've had. The star of my meal really was the chicken and guac panini. It was packed with so many levels of flavor, the best being a touch of jalapeno for some heat. I enjoyed the way the chicken was essentially sliced to make eating the sandwich more enjoyable than say just a grilled breast thrown on. My husband ordered the tomato and cheese soup with the roasted chicken grinder. We both agreed that my sandwich was the better of the two. His was just bland to put it simply. Definitely think there are better options on the menu. His soup was good, a creamier tomato than what you're used to, which is always good in my book. I will say, if you enjoy mushroom and you are torn between the tomato or mushroom, definitely go the mushroom route. Everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy their food. The chicken and waffles seemed to be a huge hit. Our server was pretty amazing. Always enthusiastic and made sure he had everything correct before putting in our order. Very attentive and our drinks were always full! I didn't give a 5th star because I did leave a bit hungry. I do not think this place is overpriced, I just thought the portions were a bit small. I'm a big fan of getting the half sandwich/ half salad combo - which I'm telling you, do yourself a favor and get the 'Wine Country' salad (it has grapes, strawberries, candied pecans and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing, YUM!) I've had a few of the different sandwiches, the club is awesome and the roasted tomato & mozzarella panini might just be my favorite. I absolutely LOVE Baker's Crust! I especially love the Chesapeake location because it's so close to my work and my favorite bartender is usually working when I go for lunch. She's the best and always makes me raspberry teas just the way I like it. Everything that I've tried there so far has been amazing. Both the Hawaiian Flat Iron Steak and the Atlantic Salmon with Risotto are my go-to orders each time. Both the brunch and the dinner menu have great options and aren't too overwhelming with options. I remember dining here with friends and we walked in expecting the same Baker's Crust as in Ghent. We were wrong, but it's not to say it was a bad thing. The Greenbrier location seemed to be a more sophisticated fine-dining experience compared to Ghent's brunch-centric style. We joked that this location should be called Baker's Crust After Dark, thanks to its different environment and feel. After we got past the change (and the fact that we felt extremely underdressed) we were treated to good dinner experience. The only problem is that the prices were higher which reflected the shift in focus. I would've found the food better but the price hike didn't justify it. It was still good food, just not great for the money. The service, as I expected, is just as personable, if not better, than in Ghent. Go there and have brunch. No excuses. My parents used to live in this area and would take us here when we visited, and we always had a great time. The service is spot-on and the food is to die for. As many times as I've driven past this place over the years, this was my first time actually visiting. And I actually really liked it. After we were seated, we were greeted by an awesome server. He was very friendly and so helpful with some great meal suggestions. He was very attentive and wasn't rushing us for anything, even towards the end when it was close to closing time. My friend and I shared a white truffle & portobello pizza. I also got a chicken guacamole half sandwich with chips. The pizza was pretty good. It was a little greasy, but I actually enjoyed the taste other than that. My sandwich was delicious! I could have skipped the pizza for a whole sandwich. Their house-made chips were probably my favorite part of the meal. They were so crisp and crunchy, and I loved the cheese sprinkled over them! For dessert, I took a brownie to go.
