Decided to try this out since it's right by my house. First impression is that it's super clean and really cute. The restroom has a changing table and is very clean! It's a lovely little cafe that has a 3 tables and a few high tables. Parking lot is big and it's located at the corner of the shopping center, easy to spot. I was a little bummed out that the kitchen closes at 2pm, was very excited to try their food. The coffee was ok. Spanish Latte 6/10 , didn't have much flavor Cookie Butter 8/10 was fairly balanced, not toosweet Original Cheesecake 8/10 mini cookies 10/10 I would definitely stop by again to try their food and give their coffee another chance. read more

I really want to like this place because we like 'take ur seat' but today we felt rushed despite them being behind. The cashier asked us what we wanted and after every item we listed she would immediately say "Anything else?" "Can I get a hojicha latte?" "Ok anything else?" "I'll take an almond croissant" "Anything else?" "What's in the belly 2 belly?" "It's on here, Here's a menu. Ok anything else?" "Um I'll take a breakfast sandwich" "Anything else?" The whole transaction felt like it was under a minute because of how rushed we felt only for her to say "just so you know we're a little behind so it'll likely take about 20 min." If that's the case then why rush us to order? There was only one person behind us that had just walked in so it wasn't like there was a long line. It was my sister's first time there so she had questions but it seemed like the cashier didn't have time for all that. For example, My sister asked about one of the dishes and instead of explaining what's in it, the cashier immediately handed us a menu and said "it's on here" but we felt like we didn't get enough time to read it because at any second she would say "Anything else?" Other than that, the pastries are rich so definitely something you want to slow down and enjoy, but really tasty and unique. The food itself is good, exactly what you would expect. Belly 2 Belly was good but I would recommend asking for an over easy egg if you're into the loco moco vibe. The Breakfast sandwich was alright. It's just that it's such a cute place that has all these fancy pastries so I didn't expect a breakfast sandwich with plain hamburger buns. It did come with potatoes that were pretty good! But I don't think I would order it again. My sister got an iced cookie butter latte and she liked it, said it wasn't super sweet but a nice subtle cookie butter taste. I had the Hojicha latte which was also good. The drinks definitely had the same taste as Take Ur Seat so I was happy with that. Oh, boy. Am I in trouble! I'm writing this as I am eating my chia pudding from there. WHICH IS DELICIOUS, as are the other items I got! I also got an iced pandan latte (beautifully made, perfectly balanced) and Ube mochi waffles. The chia pudding is made with coconut and it's also very balanced in flavor, not sweet, perfect. As for the customer service... EVERYONE IS WONDERFUL! The cafe is clean, modern, and very cute. Only downside is that they were out of most pastries, including the Ube cheesecake, which is what I originally wanted, but no worries, I'll be back soon. read more

Tucked away in the Smart & Final shopping center at Base Line and Carnelian, this cozy spot is just south of Tam's Burgers, near the Carnelian entrance. Despite its quiet location, this café is sure to make some noise in the local food scene. I had the chance to visit on their soft opening day, and I was impressed by how smoothly everything ran. The staff was warm, knowledgeable, and eager to help, making the experience even more enjoyable. I started with their mochi waffle, a recommendation from the staff, along with an iced Spanish latte. The latte--made with two shots of espresso, milk, honey, and cinnamon--was smooth, well-balanced, and just the right amount of sweet. As for the mochi waffle, it was a delightful contrast of textures: crispy on the outside, warm and chewy on the inside. The presentation was just as inviting as the taste. Wanting to sample more, I picked up three different croissants (almond, honey miso, and garlic cream cheese) to enjoy later with my wife. While all were delicious, the garlic cheese cream croissant stole the show--flaky, savory, and packed with rich, creamy goodness. You don't need to be over the top, but you do need to greet your guest. I stood there wondering if I should bypass the piss poor customer service & just get a drink or leave. I gotta say, I had to try this place since I enjoyed Take Your Seat. Let's get straight to it. Spam Musubi - Nicely wrapped and held together well while eating. The rice was fluffy, and the sauce was flavorful. Simple and enjoyable overall. I do wish the Spam was a bit thicker, but that's just personal preference. Sausage Roll - The pastry was excellent: light, airy, and had a subtle buttery flavor. The sausage was juicy and aromatic with a hint of sweetness, similar to tocino. Definitely a standout. Egg Salad Sando - A little bland for my taste, but still solid. The sandwich was a good size and easy to eat. The egg salad had a nice consistency and didn't fall apart, even though it was fully stuffed. I wasn't a huge fan of the boiled egg. it looked nice but didn't add much to the overall flavor for me. Overall, +Bake is a great morning stop. Also had the sweet chick bowl... hard pass for me since chicken skin is included which gave the dish a gamey flavor profile. Just wasn't my preference. A bit disappointed. This was my first time visiting this new store, and it really paled in comparison to Take Ur Seat Too, which I usually go to. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the pandan latte was a lot more bitter than it usually is at the other location. I had to add sugar, and even that didn't really offset the taste. Anyway, I also ordered a Milo Dinosaur drink, one of my favorites in Ontario. The taste was fine, but the drink was majority ice and the barista couldn't even bother filling it to the top... There was maybe an inch of extra space on top. That'd be fine if I asked for no ice or something, but if you're giving me a drink with more than one half of the cup being ice, I expect you to at least fill it up fully. The pastries were fine, no complains there. I got the Biscoff Pandan Cookie, the Honey Miso Croissant, and the Mango Sando. They were all good, but I could tell the Mango Sando had been sitting in the fridge for maybe a couple of days. The bread was not very soft, so definitely not fresh. Also, the customer service really just was not good. Francesca took our order and just seemed very apathetic. Didn't exchange any pleasantries, like "welcome in" or "what can I get for you." None of that. We came in as another group was ordering, and she didn't take our order until she finished making their drinks and food. Once we finally did start ordering, all she said was "anything else " in between each item. Like she wanted us to hurry up and get out of her hair. Once we finished ordering, she just walked away and began working on the order without saying anything, and left us to pay and self-service the receipt. She did thank us as we were leaving, but maybe she could at least be more accommodating when ordering. It doesn't exactly incentivize me to tip when the service is so poor. Finally I got to try this new bakery. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie ($5.50), strawberry matcha latte ($8), and ube basque cheesecake ($9.50). The baked goods were delicious, however the matcha lacked that unique earthy savory flavor matcha is known for. That was very disappointing. If you missed the prices above, I spent about $24, on one drink and two pastries. I love to support small businesses, however $8.00 for a drink that lacked flavor and although the pastries were delicious they are a bit overpriced at $5.50 (chocolate chip cookie) and $9.50 (ube basque cheesecake). Mainly when there is a well established bakery in the same strip mall with most of the same pastries for at least a couple less dollars and bigger in size. By the way the prices of the baked goods aren't displayed anywhere so it was an absolute surprise when I was told my total. I had to go online to search for the prices after. It is a trendy cute place. It does need more seating or smaller tables to accommodate the amount of customers they are getting. I have to say the Bake Cafe made my day in every single way! Flavorful coffee drinks I was like Heyyyy! Pretty and delicious pastries I was like Slayyy! But that's not all I have to say. The service was excellent from the time I walked in until the time I stepped out. If you want to take pics I suggest you order dine in for the plating and mug service. Plenty of seating but I really recommend coming early if you want a spot. I ordered their recommended Mexican Side Car which was really good with chocolate flavor and those espresso shots give it a nice kick. I also got their Pandan latte which was also very good and was pleasantly surprised that the flavor really came through. To accompany my drinks I had the Honey Miso Croissant and that right there sealed this delicious deal. Now I can just imagine how their other items taste. I came two times in a week so that I can try different items. The sausage rolls are bomb!!! I got the Portuguese tart and the Nutella chocolate crossiant for my kids and they loved it. Considering that they are extremely picky with their good and they told me it was delicious, that means it was that much more delicious :) the egg sandwich is good but nothing extremely special. Also, tried the strawberry matcha and ordered it with only the puree and no additional sugar since most places add sugar in their puree. I came here a few days ago and got chocolate chip cookies. The sea salt chocolate chip was amazing, I dreamt about it. The mini ones were extremely hard, I couldn't eat it and had to throw it away. I came back today and got 2 more of the sea salt chocolate chip cookies and they were old, hard and stale. I asked the cashier if they were baked today, he claims that they were. I know how to bake and never in my life has a cookie had a stale taste in less than 12 hours. It's was approximately 2:45pm when I came in and they opened at 7:30am. So they claim that their cookie became hard and stale after only 7 hours. That's impossible. The cashier didn't apologize or offer an exchange. He went to the back kitchen to talk to someone then came back and refunded my card. No manager came to talk to me, nor offer for other cookies that were baked fresh. They need to improve their customer service, accountability and customer retention. read more

Cute little café with really nice decor -- clean, cozy, and just a good vibe overall. I ordered a hot latte and avocado toast. The latte was fine, but don't expect any latte art... I don't think that's their thing. As for the avocado toast, the egg came out over cooked. So I asked for another sunny-side-up egg on top , but it came out overcooked and kind of burnt around the edges. They have good service but I don't think they can make the egg right. Honestly, it reminded me of something I might accidentally make at home, not what you'd expect from a café. On the bright side, the Basque cake was amazing! Definitely the highlight of my visit. Next time, I'll probably skip the food and just come back for the pastries. Also -- random detail -- the bathroom mirror somehow makes you look skinnier, which gave me a good laugh. read more

Pretty good. Better than 3 stars, but maybe not quite 4? We both ordered avocado toast, which was pretty good, but pricey for what it is. Everything is pricey these days, though. The bread was a bit too sweet in contrast to the savory egg and bacon crumbles. The egg was cooked perfectly, which was nice! We also had the bacon and cheese croissant and Nutella croissant. Pretty good! Not amazing, though. The not-quite-amazing-for-the- price, plus the sort of meh attitude from the person who took our order (which was already prepaid pickup other than the croissants), made +Bake (what's with the plus sign, anyway?) a place we probably won't rush back to. read more

Bake Café is a beautiful spot for breakfast, and they truly have some great pastries. The food itself is delicious, and their strawberry matcha is honestly really good. However, the customer service needs serious improvement. My husband and I went for breakfast and ordered a few items. He ordered before me, yet my food came out first. He had ordered a side of eggs with bacon and a side waffle. They brought the eggs and bacon, but the waffle never came out. We sat there waiting for about 30 minutes, and no one came to check on us or update us. Eventually, we just left without ever receiving the waffle. For a place that just opened--and one that has so much potential--I really hope they work on being more attentive and welcoming. When people order items together, it would be much better if everything could be served together rather than one by one or forgotten altogether. Based on this experience, I personally wouldn't go back. Hopefully, they can improve their customer service because the café itself is lovely. read more

I was so excited to see a new local coffee & pastry shop near our home! I'm so glad to have gone here & spent my money at this local shop instead of a Starbucks or 85 degrees bakery. I was greeted upon entering & the cashier was super kind, friendly, and patient. It was such a lovely calm environment. It's super clean & beautifully decorated. I could see this place as being somewhere I like to come & enjoy a delicious treat, pastry, and relax. My husband and I tried the Strawberry Matcha Latte iced & Mexican Sidecar iced to drink. We also bought an almond croissant & basque original cheesecake. Both drinks were absolutely delicious. I never order coffee from anywhere but I decided to give the Mexican sidebar a try after the cashier recommended it & described it as a horchata and coffee with an espresso shot. WOW! It did not let me down. It's the perfect balance of coffee, sweetness, and cinnamon. The matcha latte was also amazing. You can clearly taste the quality of ingredients The almond croissant was to die for: flakey, buttery, not too sweet. Definitely a favorite! Parking is limited nearby. We were pleasantly surprised with the variety of pastries offered here. We bought the honey miso croissants and ube cheesecake. One bite into the croissants was heaven. It was toasted and you can definitely taste the sweetness of the honey, but I couldn't taste the miso. Nonetheless, it was very delicious, and hands down I would order this pastry again. As for the ube cheesecake, it was so decadent. The color and texture of the cheesecake was like eye candy. I truly love ube and this dessert didn't disappoint.
