Probably the best che you can get here in the Anaheim area. The service was great and my che came out pretty quickly even though there was a huge crowd. This spot seems to be busy no matter what time in the day it is, so expect a wait to order. Also, there's a rewards system here so to all my che lovers, go! House Special: So many flavors and so delicious! The fresh durian really hit the spot and I'm glad it didn't overpower the dessert as well. This review for owner/manager: If you have promotion you guys should not allow order online because it wont be fair with those who get in line for an hour to order it. It leads to out of stock and you cant control the number of items selling out. We tried to order online too but it showed out of stock even in the morning when you juz open the store ( its so weird). If you gave out BOGO then you guys should make sure quantities enough or at least meet 60-70% . We came at the store and so many ppl saw that you guys still have a whole tray of flans but its only for ppl ordered online, which obviously was not working. I stopped by Bake & Che on my way to Da Vien after seeing a long line outside and figured it was worth checking out. The storefront is pretty small with limited seating inside, so it's more of a grab and go kind of spot. We decided to share the house special, which was made of durian, mung beans, jackfruit, pandan jelly, and a bunch of other classic Asian ingredients. As a durian fan, I loved it! It was super flavorful and fun to eat with all the different textures and layers. Service was decent and pretty quick considering the line. Every time i passed this place, its always people and can get busy especially during prime time. This place isn't big so it can get pack quickly when this place gets busy. They're known for their che (vietnamese dessert) and they have some bake goods. I decided to get their house special whicj comes with some beans, jelly, durian, and some other ingredients that I wasn't sure of. Its $7 so decent price for one cup and amount of ingredients it has. The plaza can be very busy and it might take a while to find a parking sport. People are coming and going often and it is a busy place both in the parking and in the store. We came for some desserts after lunch and I could not resist buying the mix and match box and filled it with cassava cakes, panda layers, and palm sugars! My favorites are actually in the reverse order but they were all delicious and I would buy all three again next time we visit. We also bought the flan and the green drink, I can't remember the name of it. Both were delicious as well. There was a line when we went, but it moves rather quickly. My favorites were the popular palm sugar and durian pandan layers. - The baked desserts are $1.50 each, but I ordered the five cakes sampler ($7.00) which includes 1 palm sugar, 1 pandan layers, 1 mung bean, 1 cassava, and 1 taro. Cons: - Its located in a strip center so shares the parking lot with other businesses. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and that area was busy. Parking was a bit tough. - A long line formed, but they take the orders pretty quickly and at least keep you moving. - Small interior with not much seating available especially on a busy day. Oh my goodness, these were the best banh khoai mi (cassava) I have ever had, it has a really nice chewy texture and cooked to perfection where it isn't too moist. I also recommend getting the palm sugar cake, it satisfies the sugar craving without being so sweet and has a nice bouncy texture I got the Coconut Smash Che filled will alot of vietnamese goodies like peanuts, coconut strips, coconut jelly, palm seed and coconut milk. Very freshing and the combination of ingridents go together well. If yoy are taking it to go, get the ice on the side! This is located in a busy plaza so there is alot of traffic but you'll find a parking spot after a few loops. i went on a weekend and the line was out of the door and we waited about an hour. The line situation was very confusing as they have kisoks right at the door but alot of people don't know how to use it (we had to help to get the line moving) and the register where you can also place an order was on the other side so it wasn't obvious we can order there. They serve a small menu of Che (cold desserts), Banh (baked goods), and Rau Cau (jellies). Sweetness is adjustable, and they have clear labels for vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options. Everything is made fresh daily! PARKING : Located in a plaza with parking out front but it can get pretty crowded especially on weekends FOOD/DRINKS : Pandan Grass Jelly Che - grass jelly, pandan jelly, in palm sugar and house special milk. I added some "hat luu" which are faux pomegranate seeds made of tapioca and jicama for some chew and crunch. This was really easy to eat - not super sweet, mildly flavored jellies, and not super heavy. A safe option if you're not sure what to get! My mom excitedly pointed out Bake & Che when we drove by during our recent trip to OC. She's seen it in a lot of YouTube videos so we stopped by. It was 9:30 pm but incredibly busy! They were sold out of some of their bakes while we were there, so definitely come earlier in the day for more variety. We ordered the flan cheesecake, longan jelly (rau cau), and a few cups of che. The flan cheesecake was a harmonious blend of perfectly smooth flan on top of a light and fluffy cheesecake base. It surprisingly wasn't too sweet! The house special che had durian, red beans, white beans, mung beans, pandan jelly, "pomegranate" seeds, jackfruit, palm seeds, taro paste and the special house milk with peanuts. Everything tasted fresh and the portion was generous. Che is always a fun mix of textures but I was especially impressed with how the beans were cooked. We also ordered the che ba mau (three beans) and the grass jelly + pandan jelly che too. We liked Bake & Che so much we bought extra cups of che to bring back up to San Jose.
