Bagels are good. Leave the croissants alone. The dough is not flaky. They are tasteless. And there's nothing soft and flaky about them.

I've eaten a serious amount of bagels in my life, and bagelsmith does a pretty good job at them. I liked the option for 'mini bagels', but getting the full lox/tom/onions/cc cost over $10 which was a surprise. Overall, worth it if you don't get too fancy. read more

Went here today to try the "best bagel" in town. My bf ordered a BLT bagel, i ordered a garlic bagel with onion bacon spread and sausage, and a hot medium french vanilla coffee. The bagel was alright at most, nothing more than what I can make myself at home for way less in price. The coffee was atrocious. Most watered down coffee ever. Let alone, it was cool in temperature. Not warm, not hot, not iced, but cool.. I had two sips and my bf had another 2 sips, and we could not finish it. Literally tasted like cool bitter water with a hint of vanilla. read more

WOW - 24 hour bagel spot that actually serves good bagels. My friend and I stumbled in here when we were looking for a late night dessert spot. He ordered the cinnabun I had the bana-nut muffin (both were heated) and we shared a rugalah. Everything was delicious. The place was adorable and the staff was friendly. I took a point off for not having more seating and no decaff coffee (it was past 12:30am - they could consider brewing some at that hour). Best bagel shop in Williasmburg. Largest selection of bagels and mini bagels in all varieties including wheat versions of your favorites like 'Onion' & 'Everything'. I love the selection of their cream cheeses. My favorite is the sundried tomato basil. The scallion bacon cream cheese is rocking too. Even when there is a long line it moves fast. Most of the time (almost all the time) the bagels are really soft, once in a while I'll get a firm bagel, but it's rare. read more

Bagelsmith serves up some amazing bagel sandwiches and cream cheese. I ordered a BLT with chive cream cheese. Wow, it was delicious. There's a ton of options, including tofu spread for those who are lactose-free, making the combinations seem endless. I brought out-of-state visitors here, and they returned for three straight days after. Service is quick, so it's a great place to stop in, get a bagel, and proceed on your way. read more

First of all there is no credit card minimum so as someone who does not like to carry cash that is a MAJOR plus. The bagels, are not the best, but not the worst, it is convenient to get to from my apartment on the way to the subway, not overpriced and again they take credit cards no matter what you are paying. read more

This Bagelsmith location is awesome. The staff is extremely friendly, and amazing. I go here after my summer softball league for my bagel fix. It sure beats the bagel place I have locally, they really know how to make bagels. They are so fresh and soft and toasted just right. The coffee is an awesome blend and smooth. Ordered the tuna melt on a whole wheat everything bagel. It was delicious, but it was not melted at all. The tuna salad and the bagel were great though. I loved that the tuna salad had grated carrots in it. It definitely took a while though, so be prepared to wait and don't go in a hurry. read more

It is unfortunate how bad this place was. I went there this morning ordered an everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese, and an oatmeal with fresh fruits. Not only did I have to wait for twenty minutes, but when the girl finally handed me the oatmeal, I also ask for my bagel, to which she replies "they're still making it". Of course I couldn't believe that a bagel would take that long, especially when I ordered it there was no one in the store, so I went to the back to check and it was cold from sitting there. No one called my name, no one brought it up to the register, as their sign states, and the girls wouldn't even bother to check. When I got the bagel I tried speaking to her, to let her know that it was back there, if she just would've checked, she completely ignored me, didn't even make eye contact. Then I open my order, and the bagel is not toasted, it is so hard, not a fresh bagel, and the oatmeal is completely tasteless. An oatmeal, a bagel, and a small orange juice were $19.00. The price, although expensive, would've been fine by me had I at least had a good meal. The service, the food, and the pricing was all bad, and I am highly disappointed. I have been here before and it hasn't been this bad. I recommend you never step foot here. read more

I really do love this place... I've only had the occasional mishap, charged me for the wrong thing, messed up an order.. forgot my order...egg shells in the eggs.. only put one ketchup packet in my bag... didn't slice the bagel all the way through so you have to tear it apart and end up making a mess of yourself...only the occasional mishap.. but they're super friendly, fast, moderately priced and the bagels are darn good... they're no David's Bagels.. but they have a good thing going... glad to be a regular. read more

If you want a fantastic bagel with good selection of cream cheeses, this is your place. The bagels are always fresh and its relatively inexpensive.
