This place has great bagels! I tried the sea salt bagel with honey and rosemary cream cheese. It reminded me of the ricotta cheese and honey appetizer from my favorite upscale restaurant in Cincinnati (Abigail Street). I also had the regular bagel sandwich on the menu - fried egg, white cheddar, juicy thick cut bacon, on a poppyseed bagel. So good! The cucumber lemonade was very refreshing on a summer morning. I will go back if I visit again! read more

Got a classic jumbo with bacon. It was delicious. The line was a bit long but it was worth the 15 minute wait. I wouldn't wait 18 minutes though b read more

I don't really know how any review isn't 5 stars for this place. These are hands down, the best bagels I've ever had in my life. I've tried bagels in NYC and NJ (still not giving up on that search) but none have ever compared to these. Used to live in Somerville and would walk 20 min regularly before work or on the weekends to snag a jumbo with avocado and red onion, and now that I've moved about a hour away, anytime I drive in (or someone comes to visit) I make a point to get a bakers dozen to freeze. Yes, the line is long. Yes, on weekends it's worse. Yes, they can sell out. Yes, the bagels are a bit pricey. Yes, there's limited seating. BUT, the line moves pretty quickly, and you always have an exceptional reward. Creative flavors, (favorites: salt, olive, cheddar garlic) fantastic spreads (mustard butter? drooool) , inventive sandwiches (can't go wrong with the jumbo - husband gets it with bacon) and the best vibe. Unbeatable. read more

I was so skeptical. so skeptical. but bagelsaurus is one of those places that defeated me. seriously, they are just bagels. bagelsaurus collected enough fans to fund their own brick and mortar through kickstarter. we went in at 8am walking from our place. there was already a line, but it wasn't that bad. we tried the egg sandwich and the t-rex. gosh these things are delicious and i was known among friends as a sandwich hater. awesomeness. they are a little pricey but it's a nice treat every once in a while. get up early and reward yourself with a bagel! this sounds weird, but yes i meant that! read more

Most reviews I've read for this place are either glowingly positive or dramatically negative. I feel the true rating of this place is 4 stars. The bagels and sandwiches are pretty awesome. The bagels have this chewiness that I don't think I have ever experienced (to be honest my jaws are not conditioned for such chewiness, but even when my jaws are feeling weary the flavor keeps me going.) Cons: A little too pricey, long lines on the weekend, need some more unique flavors, all the flavors are relatively standard minus the pretzel and the salt. (I really want a jalepeno cheese bagel) Highlight: Honey Rosemary Cream-cheese, fresh chewy bagels. read more

Don't be disheartened by the long, long line- it goes pretty quickly. Finding a spot to sit down, however, is hard. Despite the fact that this is all the way out in Porter Square, my roommate and I ventured out there because of all the hype. It was worth it. We got the egg sandwich with bacon on a pretzel bagel and hot smoked salmon and cream cheese and red onion on a sea salt bagel. I also got a cinnamon raisin bagel to go. First mistake- should've added avocado to the egg sandwich. We were hesitant about it because most places give you a really small amount, but the guy next to us had a pretty generous portion on his. It probably would've cut some of the saltiness of the bacon. Oops. But the egg sandwich was good- the bagel was delicious. And the smoked salmon bagel on the bagel was even better. They make it in house. The cinnamon raisin bagel was decent, nothing special. Chewy, which is good. The bagels are expensive though. Add toppings, and they're even more expensive. It's a good treat to have once in a while, but definitely can't make this a habit. read more

Bagelsaurus I sort of get it. The line though is way too long. Yes those sandwiches are properly vetted. Taste wise it can't go wrong. Still nothing is that good for such wait. People follow others too much. It makes no sense when the weather ain't great. But yes they got the touch. read more

The 3 stars is the average of the two times I've been there. First time it was great--4 stars! Ordered a garlic and cheese bagel with rosemary honey cream cheese + bacon. Best bagel in Boston. 2nd time around, ordered the exact same thing, and it was just plain AWFUL. 1 star. The bagel was cold and so chewy, that my jaw cramped up after I had half of it. I couldn't finish the bagel. So sad! I can't say this is the best bagel in boston anymore. Lines are long too! read more

The place is small bit clean and well-run. They have quite a few different bagel varieties and choices for schmears, but you can't go wrong with a classic everything bagel and some flavored cream cheese; I got the scallion cream cheese per a recommendation and it was complete with fresh pieces of chopped scallion inside. Warm, crisp exterior but soft chewy interior, and very importantly a good filling to bagel ratio. Quite a quality bagel and a very tempting way to start the day or to snack if you're in the area. Next time the onion bagel with hot pepper(or honey rosemary) cream cheese has my name on it read more

Luckily the line was short today(Saturday)! Cheddar garlic bagel with beet hummus spread! I loved this combination. Their bagels are fresh soft and yummy as well. Their oven roasted tomatoes are fresh and juicy. My husband tried their scallion cream cheese which was the best I have eaten until now! You can build your own bagels and their service is pretty fast too. So you don't have to be too apprehensive about waiting in the line as it moves quick. Wish they were closer to home! read more

The bagels and cream cheeses are great! But the website needs improvement. It would be nice to be able to order several days before the pickup. I don't know if it's me, but I haven't been able to. I'm sure they'd have a lot more business if that was changed. read more

Really good bagels, bagel sandwiches, drinks. Lines are long on wknds, weekdays aren't too bad. I wish their pretzel bagel would be more pretzel-like. I've ordered it twice and both times it tasted like sea salt. I think the pretzel name is misleading at least from a taste and texture perspective. Oh yeah, their treats are pretty good too. read more

I would generally scoff at the idea of a mind-blowing or life-changing breakfast sandwich. BUT LORD, I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT. I was initially put off by the prices here, because my idea of a breakfast sandwich was a mess of greasy stuff on a chewy bagel that cured your hangover. But the price is SO worth it. Bagelsaurus breakfast sandwiches are PERFECT. Their bagels are PERFECT. Fluffy, crispy, almost the consistency of a croissant, their bagels are also super flavorful (we had the cheddar & garlic and the sea salt). We got the egg sandwich with roasted tomatoes and the T-Rex (with bacon because bacon). The eggs were soft and juicy, the tomatoes were seasoned as if they were the main event, and the almond butter on the T-Rex sandwich....I could take a bath in it. Anyway, go here!!!! Don't be afraid of the line, they're really organized and it is so worth it!!!!! read more

Unless you're made of money, this place is not going to be your morning go-to breakfast spot. But if you've been dreaming of a bagel and want an indulgence that won't disappoint, this is your spot. The $8 (!!!) bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel is the best sandwich in the world. The bagels here actually taste as good as the memory of bagels when you're eating carb-free. So good. Oh yeah, and parking is impossible. Your best bet is take the T or have a friend drive you and wait in the car while you get the goods! read more

They Craft a Fantastic and Fresh Bagel. The tomatoes they use are incredible and delicious. Their cream cheese is maximally luscious, creamy and flavourful -- sure, it's no Ben's Cream Cheese -- but certainly worth the 1.50 and the wait. I got the rosemary honey cream cheese and was pleased by the quantity, texture and distribution over the surface of the moist, chewy interior of the bagel-space. The only area of improvement I could offer is to start offering wild lox and herring and stop serving meat (which corrupts the purity of the more rudimentary foodstuffs and gives the place an off aroma) -- the real stuff like they have at Russ & Daughters in the Lower East Side. If they do, they might have NY beat, hands down. read more

These bagels were totally worth the 25 minute wait in the rain. I haven't had a sandwich yet but got a half dozen mixed bagels including pumpernickel, pretzel, everything, and sesame. They were chewy and still warm and overall awesome. I bought them home and didn't bother toasting the bagel (okay, you caught me, 2.5 bagels) that I ate. I didn't even put cream cheese on the sesame bagel because it was so good by itself. Don't come here unless you want to go on a #bageldiet Pro tip: if you come on the weekends before 10 and are going to buy a dozen bagels, you can skip the line and get a grab bag. Tbh I think this is maybe worth it even if you don't think you want a dozen. You probably do, and if you don't, give away some bagels! Make some friends! read more

I totally agree with other reviews, the bagels are worth it. That being said, I've lived in Somerville for a while and have only been twice. The line is just, annoying. I am all for small batch, quality ingredients, even the selling out around noon! Love all of it, I just don't go because of the line. It can be 10 mins, it can be 45. I've driven by a few times in hoping the line is small, and it never is. The food, the atmosphere, the mission, AMAZING. The line just deters people! read more

Amazing bagels. Amazing staff. Chocolate chip bagel was awesome. Breakfast sandwich bagel was also awesome. The egg was perfectly cooked and the spread was amazing. Nothing more to say. read more

I've only been here twice but I always ask myself why I haven't gone more often. This time my friend and I trekked in the snow to get us some high quality bagels. It was her first time. We went at a good time 1:30. No flavor seemed to be sold out which was good! The only complaint I have about this place is how tiny it is. I recommend making seating a priority if you want to dine in. These bagels have to be my favorite from Boston. Their bacon is to die for and their avocado is fresh! Bagel sandwiches don't take long for them to make. They also sell bagels by the dozen and have a different line if you want to purchase just that! Oh, also keep in mind they close early at 3 so come early but not too early or else you'll be waiting in a long line and nobody wants that. Would definitely recommend for all you bagel lovers if you're ever in the Cambridge area! read more

Having read complaints about the wait time and raves about the bagels I decided to keep it simple and have a classic salt bagel with cream cheese. When I got it I was not disappointed. The bagels are great! What makes this a 2 star rating is the complete failure to deliver these amazing bagels with even a whiff of efficiency. There were 7 staff there when I visited. Since I knew the wait was going to be long I decided to observe them. It was pretty interesting. There was a dedicated cashier taking orders and cashing people out. There were three kitchen folks who were doing bits of work interspersed with breaks where they stood idle and looked at the people in line or their coworkers. Then there were three people filling orders very slowly. All three had difficulty finding the things they needed, like a spatula or knife, to fill the orders. They too stopped frequently to observe their colleagues or the line, to stare off into space or to chat with each other. I know bagels and these are top notch. I also know what real bagel places are like and the robots behind the counter at Bagelsaurus would be fired from any of them. If you don't mind inefficiency and painfully slow service, go get one of these delicious bagels. Otherwise steer clear. read more

Worth the wait to get in, and you'll want to come back every weekend. I only wish they'd be open past 3pm! I had the bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich and it was amazing! read more

Worth any bit of waiting you will certainly be doing if ere you think to visit them on the weekends. Persevere and you will be rewarded with the tastiest, loveliest, wonderfulest bagel-borne concoction you've ever experienced. Get the egg sandwich and prepare for the revelation that is the mustard butter- a condiment that ties the piece together in an earthy, spicy, and yet altogether smooth, subtle, and delicate manner. Enjoy! read more

Coming from the new jersey area i have been exposed to wonderful bagels in the greater NYC area (including NJ) - this is not a NYC/NJ bagel. It has interesting flavors combinations that are unique to commercial bagel stores, BUT the bagel is just too hard to repeatedly bite into. Its beyond "chewy" since after 1 bagel your jaw will significantly hurt. Do not buy into the hype if you want a nice soft bagel with only a bit of chewiness. Its still better than funkin gonuts since the cream cheese is gooood read more

Hot smoked on an olive bagel!! Just go with it, you'll be soooo satisfied!! First of all, it's an olive bagel, it's one of a kind.. where else will you find this?? Then it's smothered in cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onions, fresh dill and pickled cabbage, ommggg the flavors!!! Will totally change your outlook on bagels.... The place isn't too big inside and I can see it getting busy and cramped easily, esp on weekends. But it was speedy and we were able to find a seat easily on a Tuesday afternoon. read more

The praise for this place is well deserved--I only wish it were bigger! Lines on the weekends can be insane, so I usually opt for a bagel on the way to work during the week. If you're in a rush on the weekend, the grab bag is the way to go since you can bypass the line. I like that they don't toast their bagels unless you ask (since they're usually fresh and hot). Some bagel places toast them just to cover up the staleness, I think. I've never tried the sandwiches, but the flavor combinations look delicious. Everything bagel with honey rosemary cream cheese. Just do it. The sweet and salty combination is amazing. read more

Just watch the Phantom Gourmet spot on YouTube https://youtu.be/Xup2Lcd4Ers ... This place is the best bagels I've ever had. We got there 40 minutes after opening and there was already a line down the street. Things moved fast though and oh boy was it worth the wait. read more

This place was just amazing. Waited until 9:30 on a Friday to avoid some of the long lines, and my breakfast surpassed my expectations. Per the cashier's recommendation, I got the salted bagel with honey rosemary cream cheese -SUPERB. They added a ton of cream cheese, but this was one time where this didn't bother me. In fact, I would have eaten it plain. And I don't even really like cream cheese. Summary: salted bagel + honey rosemary cream cheese for $4. Lines, but worth it. read more

I would call myself a bagel connoisseur and these don't 100% fit my NY/NJ-influenced tastes, but that doesn't mean that the food here isn't 100% delicious. The bagels here are not the texture of a typical NY bagel (I don't think these are boiled before they're baked?) but they're really tasty and sit really well in your stomach. On my first visit, I ordered a classic jumbo breakfast sandwich with bacon on a cheddar garlic bagel and it was INCREDIBLE-- seriously, this was the best breakfast sandwich I've had in a long time. The egg was a perfect over-medium, the cheddar was the perfect cheese, and the mustard butter was ridiculously delicious. Added bonus: I was able to start my La Colombe coffee while I waited (which, btw, was an extremely reasonable wait despite how long the line was.) I will absolutely be back here! read more

Love me some Bagelsaurus! The day that they announced they were abandoing their pop-up shop across the street from my office in Brookline and moving to a brick & mortat location in Cambridge was one of the darkest in recent memory. Thankfully I've found that parking isn't usually too bad (at least on weekdays) and if I time it right I can avoid most of the traffic... and boy is it worth it! The bagels are amazing and the staff is awesome. The only tough part is deciding whether to go salty or sweet. Either way is a guaranteed win though. Def recommend checking it out! read more

Oy vey! I like another reviewer's appellation: bagel-tsuris. Operational nightmares plus innovative, tasty takes on the pedestrian bagel. But as long as there is a line out the door... to paraphrase P.T. Barnum, we can write anything we want in this Yelp!... read more

At least one day of the weekend is dedicated to an awesome breakfast in our humble home. Some friends of us told Is we had to give this place a shot, and so we did. We lucked out with no line and got two bagel sandwiches to split: egg sandwich on an everything with bacon and a plain bagel with honey rosemary cream cheese, avocado and red onion. The bagels had a nice texture but we weren't blown away. The egg sandwich was on the salty side, and I feel like it could use a little something. It reminds me of a less fancy version of flours breakfast sandwich. The honey rosemary cream cheese was really tasty, but would have been paired better with the sea salt bagel to balance the sweetness. I think if you're going for a simple bagel and cream cheese you'll be happy. But not quite a mind blowing breaky sandwich. read more

Are you kidding me with this place? Seriously. I thought I knew bagels. I thought NYC had the best bagels in the world. I was wrong, so wrong. On accident really, I was reading about the crappy Bagelville in Arlington that closed (I never liked it there - the bagels were soulless)... Anyway, in the comments of that post someone mentioned bagelsaurus and others agreed how good it was. I couldn't believe I had missed this place for so long. I immediately went down there early on a Sunday (~8am) to beat the crowd. Every seat was taken (though it's a small space to eat in anyway) and there were about 5 people in front of me in line. I ordered a dozen bagels (cheddar garlic AYFKM??) and the honey rosemary cream cheese. I was hooked. I haven't even tried a bagel sandwich yet and I'm obsessed with this place - PLEASE COME TO ARLINGTON!! Get here early though - bagels sell out and the lines are long. Just shy of 9am this past weekend I waited over 30 minutes - outside in the ridiculous freezing cold, but it was worth it. These bagels are that good. read more

Great bagels -- I compare them a bit to Iggy's bagels which is a compliment IMO! Their Egg Sandwich was very good. That said, it's expensive and the service is fairly slow, even when not busy. Ordering was quick, but the actual preparation of the bagel seems a bit too long, and it's not the most comfortable place to stand around waiting. All said and done, I'll be back, but I don't think it will be an every weekend kinda of place. read more

Heaven! If you want to hear angels sing come get yourself a bagel here, now!I truly don't know how anyone in their right mind will not love this place. Yes it's a it pricy but it's quality products. This is not your DnD stuff that was made in a factory and shipped to the store. This stuff was made today for today and you can taste the heart that goes into making greatness. Decor is minimal because they don't need it. When you make products as flipping awesome as they do the product speaks louder than any furniture or crap on the wall. As you walk in you can see the whole shebang- dishes being washed, dough being worked and orders being made. This isn't a place where the staff is going to hover over you- you order, you sit, they call your name, you enjoy bagel love. A friend and I shared the pretzel bagel with the scallion cream cheese, cheddar fair bagel egg sandwich with bacon and tomato and the banana coffee cake. Pretzel bagel dressing genius idea, classic salt fabulous chew- we were sad when it was gone. The cheddar garlic had that delicious extra cheddar on top and a great flavor combo for the sandwich. The banana coffee cake is banana bread on steroids- it's ridiculously good. Yes I think I'm hooked. read more
