Customized bagel sandwich on quinoa wrap (note, double buffalo chicken)
    Jillian C.

I ordered lunch here via a catering service. Since I didn't step inside, I can't speak to the ambiance of the place. I can speak to the food though. I ordered a customized bagel sandwich and asked for no bagel but a wrap. They only offered a thin quinoa wrap, which broke apart very easily. However, I recognize that this is a bagel place not a standard sandwich place. Thought it was a bit messy to eat, I appreciated that my wrap was packed with ingredients and was delicious!

    Everything bagel

So I do not usually leave reviews, but this genuinely ruined my breakfast for the week. I decided to treat myself and get a half dozen of everything bagels and veggie spread, except I didn't expect that spending $20+ on bagels meant they'd just be randomly thrown into a bag. It's the fact that I have to find a plastic bag to keep them fresh in for the week AND there are all of 5 everything seeds on the everything bagels. Disappointed doesn't even come close, will never be ordering from here again unless my goal is to find a mediocre chunk of gluten.

    The Eggceptional Sandwich Breakfast

Real mediocre bagels and did not receive what I ordered. No Reuben available today and got bacon instead of turkey sausage. Sad, cold power breakfast sandwich. Unable to order them toasted through Uber eats. One and done for me.

    What it SHOULD be...
    Alex K.

Dood, I do believe EVERY time I have ordered my bagel toasted it has NEVER been toasted and I've been here at least six times. I don't mean to be a curmudgeon, but this isn't rocket science -and moreover does ANYONE (some may) actually ask for their bagel UNTOASTED? I have concluded that this many times isn't just an honest mistake but rather some workers just say, "screw it" and are just too apathetic to bother toasting them or to pay attention. The workers are mostly just a bunch of high-school kids that can safely play apathy roulette. What's the worst that can happen? Maybe the customer will return later by car to demand toasting? Probably not... In the words of Sleepy Joe, "Come on... come on, man!" Otherwise, the bagel itself is good although I wouldn't say wicked good -I've had better... There seems to be no standards. Each time I order my lox everything bagel it is different -ingredients are omitted or added and ratios and thickness of ingredients are all over the map -massively thick cucumber slices and chunky onions, tomatoes and/or capers this time and not that time, etc., is no bueno. The owner should look at Wikipedia or something to see how this is traditionally made and train the staff rather than leaving it to the workers to blindly prepare them and do "whatever." This place most certainly would not fly in Queens, NYC. HELPFUL HINT: Make your own coffee as theirs is expensive and not worth the price. It's just ordinary coffee.

Talk about an underrated diamond in the rough! Scanning over a few of the reviews preceding my own,…read moreI think folks are being a bit too hard on Bruegger's here. I mean, there are certainly worse places to buy a bagel sandwich from (*cough*dunkin*cough). Anyways.. I happened by this place one Thursday morning/afternoon when I was desperate for a lunch that was at least a few legions beyond the pathetic half-baked morsels offered by the likes of Hanscom's commissary. But, I digress. Bruegger's (which one of my coworkers pronounces as "burgers" for whatever reason) answered the call in ways martial concession stands couldn't possibly fathom. They're not perfect by any means. They're just not as bad as some folks claim. First thing I should mention is, as of the time writing this review, the Lexington location is the only one I can seem to order online from. I tried the Bedford location (since this one's geographically closer to the office) only to be met with the forever-loading bagel of death on the Bruegger's app. The worst part is...they still charged me for an order that failed to go through. Looks like I'll need to haggle with my cc company to get the duplicate charge dropped. But again....I digress. Secondly, the Lexington location's parking lot is a bit odd. There are two entrance/exit ways. Unfortunately, since there is diagonal parking with the fronts pointing toward the nearby intersection, this means you need to enter the SECOND entrance way if you're coming from Hanscom like I was. Otherwise, you'll be making awkward micro-3-point turns Austin Powers style just to orient your car the proper direction for exit. Third, the food. I wanted to try at least two different bagel sandwiches before actually writing a review on this place. And I will say....I am quite pleased with the various bagel flavors here. The sides, however, have much to be desired (more on this in a bit). So far, I've tried the Double-Stack and their all new Pastrami breakfast sammich. I must confess, I have not had pastrami since I was maybe...5 or 6 years old back when I was living in Salem, NH. Man, have I been missing out all these years! The pastrami adds a much needed salty, savory flavor to the bagel and pairs brilliantly with the eggs and Swiss. Can't quite decide whether I like this or the Double-Stack with bacon better. I plan to try their ham and Swiss one next. The first side I ever tried here was the twice baked hashbrown. It was okay, but lacked the necessary seasoning. I could tell there was a hint of cheesy flavor to it, though it was hardly noticeable due to the aforementioned lack of salt. Perhaps they were going for a wicked mild flavor with this one. I don't get it though. I'd recommend going with their sea salt kettle chips in terms of sides. Fair warning though: these bags are laughably small. Looks like something I used to take with me for school lunch in the first grade. This wouldn't be so bad if they weren't charging 2 FREAKING DOLLARS for a tiny bag of chips. What a rip! I'll pack my own next go around. And there you have it. A fair, but accurate account of what the Bruegger's experience is all about. I'm giving them a much deserved 4 pastrami specials taking me back to nostalgic vibes of childhood lunch memories out of 5.

We walked into a comfortable space with a relaxed vibe that never feels generic, the kind of spot where you can settle in for a meal or grab something quickly without the atmosphere working against you. The Vietnamese bowl is the order that brings everything together well. We tried it and the flavors were bright and balanced, leaning into the fresh herb and citrus notes that make Vietnamese inspired food work when the kitchen takes it seriously. The bowl format here gives you enough going on across the components that each bite shifts slightly, which kept the meal interesting from start to finish in a way that a simpler dish would not. The broader menu is worth exploring beyond a single visit. The shakshuka and acai bowl are both good, the smash burger salad is a surprisingly strong order for anyone who wants something more indulgent, and the vegan options are extensive and genuinely well executed rather than feeling like an afterthought. The smoothies are popular for good reason and the coffee holds up as well. Pricing runs on the higher side and the menu does not always list prices upfront on site, which is worth being aware of before you commit to a larger order. Service is generally attentive and fast, though it can vary by location and shift.

The blueberry bagel I had that day was absolutely superb, probably the best blueberry bagel I've ever had in Boston. A few days later, I craved that same blueberry bagel and made the trip back, which is a considerable drive for me. Upon arrival, I was told that blueberry bagels are not offered every day and are only available on Thursdays. I returned the following Thursday, but the experience was very different. I got blueberry, poppy, and a few other bagels to take home. Unfortunately, all of them were absolutely disappointing. They tasted extremely off and very different from the blueberry bagel I had previously. At home, my family ate about half of what we purchased, but none of us had any desire to finish the rest. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. It felt like a completely different place compared to my first visit just a couple of weeks earlier. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed.

Just a place that knows how to make coffee and food without turning it into a lifestyle brand. The shop is small, bright, and comfortable. Clean, organized, and modern without looking like it was designed by a committee. A couple of tables, a calm atmosphere, and nothing screaming for attention. You sit, you eat, you're happy. Wild concept. The staff was excellent--friendly, helpful, and efficient, without the forced enthusiasm you get at chain coffee shops where everyone sounds like they're being timed. Service was quick, recommendations were solid, and no one tried to upsell me a mortgage disguised as a latte. I ordered a 12oz roasted flavored coffee (the flavor changes daily). Today's was Mudslide. Smooth, perfectly hot, with subtle hints of chocolate that behaved themselves. Not syrup soup. Not dessert in a cup. Just coffee. And it was about $2 for a small, which is impressive considering most chain coffee places now charge $6 for something that tastes like regret and burnt beans. The menu is refreshingly reasonable. Enough options to make people happy without needing a scroll wheel. I went with the Red Devil Turkey BLT on an Asiago bagel with Chelsea Fire cream cheese. The sandwich was $11 and worth every penny. The Chelsea Fire cream cheese is the star--bold, flavorful, and memorable. If chain coffee shops had this, they'd immediately ruin it by diluting it and charging extra. The bagel was still warm and clearly fresh, the turkey and lettuce tasted actually fresh (not "fresh adjacent"), the bacon was cooked perfectly, and everything worked together instead of competing like a group project gone wrong. Overall: great food, fair prices, excellent coffee, and a place that quietly outperforms chains without announcing it. Highly recommend. I'll be back--probably more often than I should.
