Best breakfast I've had in a while. The food was so fresh and good! I can't not wait to be back. Great service and a very vibey ambiance.

Love the Watertown location - they generously donate to the nearby elementary school for our annual cultural event and are a huge supporter of the local community. Their bagels are so large and delicious - definitely check them out!

Bagel choices to please everyone. Made fresh on-site

I had the smoked salmon sandwich (which came with cream cheese, capers, tomato, cucumbers, onions. Price was $15.09 if I'm right. Bagels are made fresh on-site. They have barstool tables if you choose to eat in. Also there's a choice of pancakes, Belgium waffles and French toast as well. Service was very friendly and quick. Smoked salmon was from Duck Trap, a very good quality branded smoked salmon!

Finally tried out their new location after being a customer in Lexington for many years. They make their bagels in house which you can actually see being done through the glass window...pretty cool! My go to is usually a sesame bagel extra toasted with plain cream cheese. Today my bagel was perfect, not burnt, but warm and crispy! I also grab a hazelnut iced coffee which is good--not overly sweet but hits the spot. I was impressed by their outdoor patio and was sad more people weren't using it, I'm sure it'll get packed come summer. It was a nice quiet space tucked away from the city where I could actually hear birds singing and could feel a cool breeze which eating my warm bagel. This one seems to offer more pastries and they also have a full meat counter serving Boars Head meat which is a cool addition. Whether you're in a hurry and use their pickup window or want to relax and enjoy your food, this place is for you.

The way they charged me $1.75 for cream cheese but didn't even fully cover my bagel with cream cheese makes me feel a way.

The way they charged me $2 for cream cheese but didn't actually even fully cover my bagel in cream cheese has me feeling a WAY.

FINALLY!! fresh bagels made in house. Could not be any fresher. All the fixings are totally on point. Sooo good. Best bagels for miles

This place sucks! They don't even greet you when you walk in.

Hope about improvement all the way around. You need either new ownership, new leadership, or training or just shut the place down the food isn't good either.

Nice bakery for an early morning breakfast. We stayed down the street and had bagels and coffee every morning.

Bagels were good, not the best I've ever had. The holes in the middle were really big which I don't personally like.

Service is fast and prices are good. Parking available on the street. My only complaint is that I wished it opened sooner!

There is a good amount of seating in the store and free water for customers to fill themselves which I always love. The Bacon Egg and Cheese was a wise decision and priced very very well, I would definitely recommend that! My favorite sweet was the strawberry tea cake, top class that was. The donut and banana bread were also very tasty but I didn't get to eat enough of them to feel as strongly about them as I do the strawberry tea cake. I think it's assume you can't go wrong with anything you can purchase from Butternut Bakehouse,... Enjoy! The ambiance was full of energy with friendly staff and happy customers. Would definitely recommend.

It was nice to have a more home-made version of the classic Starbucks bites and enjoy a coffee that was well balanced. On a weekend youll find an array of people from families to groups of friends, but I never saw people waiting long for seats. Adding to the neighborhood feel is their bulletin board of local ads and promotions which really adds to the community feeling of this place. The service was friendly despite being busy and moved very quickly. I would definitely come back here.

The cookie was just okay and the cold brew was good, I could tell the coffee was high quality. My only complaint is that they have a self serve station with the cream/milk. He shouted out that she had "contaminated" the drink and he would make a new one for the correct customer. This was all said in a loud, actorly voice so that everyone in the shop could know that He Was Displeased. Note, the "contamination" consisted of the woman a) holding the cup of hot chocolate and, b) walking to her table with it. On a previous occasion, he yelled at an older woman in her 90s because she needed to sit down on a chair while he was sweeping. He snidely told her that she should go outside if she needed to sit. Her confusion about the seating was understandable, because for some unknown reason the cafe needs to close a full hour before the bookshop (and they begin this process earlier even than that, by "helpfully" putting away the chairs and turning off the lights). I guess they sell some croissants and coffee, but honestly: who cares, given the above?

The girl who took my order didn't really give us a chance to look at the menu, stared, and rushed me when I was speaking which threw me off a bit. They also serve you through a window (looks like a makeshift drive-thru, or "walk-thru") which is cool, but I noticed the same girl was getting easily annoyed when customers weren't quick to receive their order. She also made my coffee in a unique way which really surprised me. They have a giant jug of iced coffee that they keep in the bottom cabinet, instead of having drip or brew. The coffee itself was pretty decent, though. My ham and cheese crepe was okay but there was not enough ham or cheese, it was mostly just egg. My friend's portion was also small but the food was good. I think I would give it another shot.
