I have been wanting to try PopUp Bagels for years now, and I was so excited to see that they have a location in Boston! Went on a Friday around 11:30am (FYI use Yelp to get address or Google Maps - Apple Maps took us somewhere else). Located in Seaport district with plenty of outdoor seating available. You do have to order a minimum of 3 bagels with a Schmear so just keep that in mind. We got the Poppy, Sesame, and Everything bagels with Scallion Schmear. Bagels were perfectly soft and the schmear was delicious! I wasn't sure how I would feel about the concept of ripping the bagels and dipping it into the cream cheese, but I actually ended up preferring it - less messy and more cream cheese per bite. Wish PopUp Bagels was in the Bay Area. I would definitely return! read more

PopUp Bagels has a very simple model, bagels and a spread (and a very effective viral marketing team that has built a ton of hype). The bagels were very fresh (you can smell them well before you see their storefront in the suprette). You get 4 bagel options and a similar number of spreads to choose from. Then they toss them in a bag and you're on your way. So...the bagels are good...but that's kind of it. No seating inside, lattes were from a can, no avocado spreads just cream cheese varieties and butter. You won't be disappointed but if you're expecting something life changing (based on the hype) I think you'll be disappointed. I went close to when they open at 7 and waited less than a minute at most. read more

Definitely one of the better bagels I've had in Boston. Great vibes, friendly staff, and quick service if you go at an off time. They have their standard bagel and schmear flavors and a seasonal schmear flavor. The bagels are good size snd fluffy. I wish they would had a rosemary salt or something like that to the menu but I am very happy with my visits here. read more

SoCal girl visiting Boston and wow these bagels blew my mind. They were so squishy and well-seasoned (get napkins it can get messy). The warm bagels with the scallion cream cheese were unreal. My partner and I had an everything bagel each and split a salted and it was perfect. It would be challenging to order as solo though. There is no seating inside so be ready to go somewhere else to sit and enjoy. (This was tough esp during the winter)...The staff is friendly and was helpful when asked for recommendations. read more

Ok these are fancy bagels that actually taste good. Pricey (at probably $4-5 a bagel) but they are so soft! Not dense--an unexpectedly poofy almost texture inside. They taste really really good but would probably recommend eating it same day. Split a dozen of the salt bagels with 3 friends. I ate two and was full for breakfast. Got it with the scallion smear. I normally am super opposed to posh bagels but these were tasty! Definitely would not be a regular thing given the price but they are good read more

Definitely a must try bagel shop! We smelled the everything seasoning a few shops down and knew we had to try! The bagels are super fluffy and the seasoning is on point! Be aware that the seasonings do get messy! I had poppy seeds all over. We got the garlic and rosemary schmear. It was amazing! Very flavorful and goes well with the the bagels. We also got their smoked salmon and it was great! The smokiness of the salmon really comes through and it complimented the garlic rosemary well. read more

Pop Up Bagels in Boston instantly became my top bagel of all time. The bagels are warm, perfectly chewy, and somehow taste both classic and elevated. I got mine with their scallion cream cheese, which is unbelievably fresh and flavorful--honestly the best version I've ever had. It appears to be a winner destination. The grand opening was jam packed with people. They had music blaring with a disc jockey, samples from Stonewall kitchens. I have to say there prices are out of line with other quality bagels like Rise Foods. Rose Foods does excellent New York style bagels for half the price. Pop up Bagels I'm sure will do well but the prices are absurd. I have to admit the bagels are smaller than a New York style bagel but honestly the bagels have a nice dense feel to themI was pleasantly surprised how good they were. It's just $23.76 for 6 bagels & a smear. That's $3.76 per bagel. I can get a true NY bagel at Rose foods for $14.50 for 6 bagels. Do the math; only $ 2.42 per bagel. read more

I was so excited to try Popup's Boston location after having had their bagels before in NY, however I was pretty disappointed by the quality and lack of freshness I experienced. To be fair, we ordered our bagels ahead meaning they had been sitting for a moment, but the dough tasted quite unfresh--it was too crisp on the outside and very chewy on the inside making it taste more like a piece of bread than a bagel. After warming my leftovers up in the microwave the next morning, I will say, the texture was much better. But, generally, the cook on the bagels was inconsistent and the textures undesirable. Additionally, the bagel itself didn't have much flavor, with a surprising lack of seasonings and toppings. On the other hand, for the overall experience itself, it was pretty fun. The bakery has a lively, friendly vibe that feels really energizing. And the staff is incredibly kind and helpful, so generally Popup is just a fun place to be. Plus, the concept of tear and dip is super fun and an enjoyable way to share breakfast with friends. I think their cream cheese tastes nice, despite being a little dense, but the unique seasonal flavors is what really makes up for it and would draw me back to this spot again. Having a fresh hot bagel from here was life changing. Everything bagel piping hot and fresh, dunking into a tub of scallion schmear. Simply unbelievable. I wish they had more space to sit down, so that I could eat indoors as quickly as possible instead of out in the cold. You can only order a min of 3, but much like me, you'll probably eat them all. No sandwiches? Not needed. A must try. read more

OKAY, so PopUp Bagels is totally worth the hype! I'm not really even that much of a bagel person BUT I must say, their bagels are the real deal. We initially ordered only 3 bagels to try: sesame, everything, & salt bagel w/ scallion cream cheese smear. The bagels were AMAZING! Our favorites were the salt & everything bagels. The sesame bagel was still good but we usually prefer the everything & salt more. Very fluffy & pulled apart easily to dip in the cream cheese. Definitely best hot/warm but still tasted pretty good later in the day. We liked them so much that we ended up walking back to order more. This time, we opted for half a dozen (1/2 everything & 1/2 salt), with truffle cream cheese smear! Yum, yum, YUM! So far, I really love PopUp Bagels and not just because the bagels are absolutely bomb, but I mean, the service was spectacular! Two different staff members helped us in the two separate times we ordered & they were very helpful and friendly. The bagels were also ready ASAP, perfect for grab & go. I like that it seems they never run out of bagels, unlike many places that just bake in the morning & as soon as they're sold out they close. Highly recommend! read more

Pop Up Bagels isn't just hopping on the bagel hype - they're redefining it. These are not your dense, chew-for-your-life bagels - these are soft, fluffy clouds of carb perfection that are somehow still epic two days later. (Yes, I took a few days to finish the bagels I brought back to SF from Boston. Science.) Finaly got to try the pop up bagels in the seaport! I never had the chance to try these in MYC, but I am happy to say they did not disappoint. The bagels came out fresh and extremely tasty. These bagels are amazing!! Best enjoyed warm as their texture is fluffy & chewy but the exterior still has a nice crisp. My favorite is their Everything Bagel & yes they are GENEROUS with the seasoning. We also tried their whipped salted butter schmear & scallion schmear which were both delicious! Their bagels are honestly perfect on their own, but they've mastered the art of a good schmear too. It would be nice if they had some indoor seating, but on a nice day you can enjoy the outdoor seating of Seaport. Overall, amazing spot and can't wait to come back for more. read more

[Out-of-Towner Review] Bagels, but make it different. This should be a 3.5 star review! I always thought my first PopUp Bagels expereince would be in NY. But alas, it wasn't. It was in a small nook in Seaport Boston. First, the spot was extremely small and I was bummed we couldn't enjoy our bagels inside. It was cold outside and we wanted to enjoy them comfortably. I felt extremely rushed to make our order. There was a small line, but the staff was not very kind or welcoming. It was like they were automated bots and did not want to engage. It might just have been that day, but it lacked emotion and care. We swiftly ordered the 3 bagels + schmear and an additional schmear. Unfortuantely, for me, the limited edition schmear was Kraft Mac n Cheese. I also purchased their staple scallion cream cheese, becuase I knew I'd at least like that. I only remember seeing three bagel options, but when I looked online, there were five. I went for the everything, which is always my go too. I loved how warm the bagel was served. The insdie softness to the crunchy and chewy exterior, was really good. I liked it a lot. I like the idea of ripping the bagel and dipping it in the cream cheese. I have no issues with this business model. But if you are solo, seems really excessive. Now on the schmear, the mac n cheese flavor lacked flavor, especially for it's namesake! The orange looked gross and it didn't taste memorable at all. The scallion cream cheese was average, but way better than the mac n cheese. I realize I just had bad luck with this flavor being the weekly limited edition. I've seem so many cool flavors over the weeks on social media, but I'll be back to try some of the others. Definitely worth the hype & a must try there's one around!! The bagels have a crispy exterior and the softest chewy texture inside. Definitely the best when eat warm, right away but its still delicious to eat days after! I recommended toasting it when eating it days later. I got a mix of the plain and everything bagel. You can't go wrong with the plain to just tear and scoop some cream cheese on. read more

In Seaport, this place often has a line to order. You can get 3, 6, or 12 bagels with a side container or cream cheese. We ate ours warm and they were so incredibly fluffy! We liked to just rip them into pieces and dip them in whatever cream cheese/butter we got. I recommend the scallion cream cheese and the hot honey butter. My favorite bagel spot from NYC is now in Boston!!! Pop up Bagel has delicious bagels. Crispy, chewy, and moist in every bite. Pop up also has flavorful schmears to choose from. I like Bagels, but this place takes Bagels to a new level! Yes, we had to wait in line, that's a good thing. You know it's going to be good! This is a pick up and go place. No tables inside. There is plenty of seating and tables around the corner in the courtyard. While my son was ordering for us I was taking it all in! The people that work here are friendly and happy! We ordered 3 everything and 3 Salt. Dips we got, Chive and a Kaylor's Tear-amisu Schmear! First was a Salt bagel with a Schmear of Tear-amisu! Bagel had a light crisp on the outside, inside was warm moist and light.... AMAZING! The best Bagel I have ever had! The Tear-amisu was the perfect Schmear with the Salt. The everything was also amazing, not sure how they make these bagels. And the Chive cream cheese pairs well with the everything! read more

You can tell they showed up in seaport because the nearest good bagel is miles away. Cream cheese ingredients include multiple gums, do not know this at the time of purchase, I should've asked. Worse quality than most food store cream cheeses. The everything bagel has more than a tablespoon of seasoning if I were to guess, all the way around the bagel. It is warm and fluffy-- but I purchased at 11 am and ate the rest at 4 pm, it already had the consistency of a 3 day old rock hard bagel... though it was soft when I bought it. The line is incredibly long and the crowd gives the vibe they've never eaten a bagel before but definitely want to post about it. This place was amazing, it has bagels I've ever had in my life. We were here on vacation and I had it on my list of places I wanted to go. Got sesame and plain bagels with plain spray and the cereal butter, and it was delicious. I'm actually really sad that we don't have this in Las Vegas. I would 10 and 10 recommend going. Popup Bagels finally has a store in Boston! They are known for their weekly-changing schmears: cream cheese and butter based. They are the star of the show, especially for their rip and dip concept. My favorite is the everything bagel. Salt bagel can be overpowering. There is not a single schmear that I tried I did not like. I wish they also sell individual bagel instead of the minium 3 pack combo. The tub of schmear is big enough for you to eat that with bread or other bagels for later. Both times I went there was on a weekday so I can't comment on how fast the line would move on weekends. --7.8/10 read more

There is something to be said about simplicity. Pop-up bagels on the waterfront is one of those places just pure and simple goodness. Their bagels are crispy and chewy all at the same time. Perfect place to grab some amazing bagels and a cup of coffee to start your day. Nothing fancy just is just pure bagels. You have some limited runs of cream cheese, Schmear. Like the strawberry shortcake that was amazing. If you find yourself near the waterfront, this is a go to place for sure. read more

Finally got my hands on these trending bagels! I was so excited after seeing all the hype. But honestly though, SpOt! Bagels by Perry in Norwood and dare I say finagle bagel are both way better!!! These were good, nothing wrong with them but also nothing special about them to stand in line for...I also feel like they're just overpriced for being in seaport too. The pricey-ness doesn't equate to the quality of the ingredients. It's just a good bagel. Also, by the time I brought it home to try - it wasn't very crusty anymore. The outside was very leathery. Even after a reheat in the airfryer, the crust somehow was still not giving that crust you want on your bagel. The schmears were interesting... cheez-it tasted like soggy cheezits + cheese wiz mixed together and the scallion flavor was good but too salty. Definitely don't stand in line for these... but I'd definitely wait in line for a SpOt bagel in norwood! read more

Crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. You could even eat the plain on its on it was that good! Next time I am back I'm doing a bulk order so I have some stocked up at home too! The wait for this is insane! We got here around 11am on Sunday. The line was around the corner of the building across from popup. We waited around 45mins-1hour. There were 5 of us and since we had to order in 3ms. We ordered 6 bagels and 2 cream cheeses. Ordered the sesame, everything and salt bagels. The bagels were super warm and fresh out of the oven. They weren't as dense as expected and were yummy. The first everything bagel we tried was quite salty, but the other one we had was fine. We also tried the jalapeno and scallion cream cheese. They were both good. The cream cheese paired nicely with the bagels. My rankings for the bagels are as below. 1) Salt 2) Sesame 3) Everything I will say this was good to try, but not sure if it is necessarily worth the wait. I did enjoy eating the bagels. read more

Came opening weekend so don't be surprised if there's a wait. The line moves quicker than you'd think, especially with staff coming by to write down orders. You take your paper bag to the counter to pay and they hand you fresh bagels. They sell plain, poppyseed, everything, salt and sesame. Bagels are sold in 3, 6 and $12 packs with each additional bagel priced at $3. Each of these preset amounts come with a cream cheese. Minimum 3 bagels per order. They constantly have bagels coming out so you may have to wait for your order. The bagels were warm, so soft on the inside and delicious dipped in the cream cheese. read more

Although I had to wait a bit for my everything bagels, it was well-worth the wait. They came out nice and warm, with the seasoning all over/on all sides, and with a super fluffy texture. I tried the scallion schmear, which was delicious and went very well with the bagels. I was surprised that they do not sell individual bagels, you have to buy packs starting at 3 bagels + 1 schmear for $15. I found it well-worth it considering I got my bagels fresh. I kept some for the following day and microwaved them, I was able to get nearly the same texture as when they were fresh. The schmear was also good enough for much more than just 3 bagels, so I had some leftover. There is a small seating area along the wall for waiting, but no seating inside specifically for eating. There is seating outside in the general area though. read more

Line outside but popup bagels had a few staff members take your order and mark it on a bag which you gave to the staff member at the counter, which made the whole process go a lot faster. Stopped by Popup Bagels in Seaport and was impressed by how fresh everything was. The bagels come out hot and soft, perfect for tearing and dipping. You order a minimum of 3 bagels, and it comes with 1 shmear included--we added a second shmear so we could try more flavors. The pickle-flavored shmear was the special of the month and surprisingly delicious. Portions are generous, so we had plenty left to take home and enjoy later. The line looked long at first but moved quickly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and craving a quality bagel snack! read more

A few days later, I craved that same blueberry bagel and made the trip back, which is a considerable drive for me. Upon arrival, I was told that blueberry bagels are not offered every day and are only available on Thursdays. I returned the following Thursday, but the experience was very different. I got blueberry, poppy, and a few other bagels to take home. Unfortunately, all of them were absolutely disappointing. They tasted extremely off and very different from the blueberry bagel I had previously. At home, my family ate about half of what we purchased, but none of us had any desire to finish the rest. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. It felt like a completely different place compared to my first visit just a couple of weeks earlier. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed.

In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.

If I went back I'd get the amaretto again. The pistachio was mostly ricotta tasting. If you go, go early and bring cash!

I really loved all of the bowls I've tried but my favorites are probably the Sake Aisuru Don and Kuromon Don. I just prefer more salmon to more tuna though, and they're all very good! Food: - Sake Aisuru Don: their classic all-salmon bowl! I loved the larger cuts of salmon, and I was pleasantly surprised that even the more pulverized salmon was flavorful! - Kuromon Don: loved the yellowtail in this! Each fish comes with two pieces (except the mackerel for which there are four), and I liked the sampler style for the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and izumidai. - Maguro Toro Don: so much tuna! And all such high quality. The otoro was so fatty that it practically melted in my mouth without chewing. - Sake Maguro Hamachi Don: a mix of salmon, blue fin tuna, and yellowtail. I liked the yellowtail in this a lot and found that it stood out the most from the other two fish in this particular bowl!
