Love this place. Best thing that's happened to Porter Square in a long time. Great taste, great options, great and caring staff. The only real downside is that there is almost always a line out the door in the morning. (Although, from a business perspective, that's definitely an upside!) It's a small, hole-in-the-wall place, but it is affordable, tasty and friendly. What more could you want from a breakfast place? read more

I'm kind of sick of reading reviews from New Yorkers that act like elitists and start every reveiw by saying "I'm from New York and I have to say this bagel....." blah blah blah nobody cares that you're from New York. You're in Cambridge now, and that's all that matters. Well, not all that matters, you should know that Bagelsaurus makes the best bagels in the state of Massachusetts. Every bagel I've tried here has the right texture, a perfect mixture of chewy and doughy. The cream cheese is what truly sets this place apart from the rest in my opinion though, it's like spreading heaven onto your bagel. The staff is great, always up-beat and polite. A bagel + cream cheese will cost you $4.25ish and a breakfast sandwich will range from $6 to $10. I recommend stopping by on a Friday morning if you have the time, the line isn't nearly as long and they still have the cheddar garlic bagel--which is only made Fri-Sun. Try the T-Rex on a pretzel if you're in a bagel + cream cheese rut. Almond butter, bacon, honey, and banana. read more

There are paintings, and there is art. Both are very different words that refer to a specific level of skill or excellence. Degrees of perfection. In the same vein, there are bagel places, and there is bagelsaurus. On my first trip, I ordered a seeded wheat bagel with honey Rosemary cream cheese, bacon, and cucumber. It was a combination that sounded good to me, but I had no idea what to expect. The service was phenomenal, and extremely quick, and soon I was at my seat with a bagel in my hand. I unwrapped it and took my first bite. It was simply delicious. Each ingredient was fresh, and a great treat to my palate. I quickly finished, and easily decided to come back once a week. There is not much I can say about what combination of things yield the quality of perfection, but one thing is certain- You will know it when you take your first bite of a bagel at bagelsaurus. read more

Let's be real, you will never not wait in line (unless you go mad early on a weekday). Feed those meters, because it's worth the wait. These bagels are perfection (and I'd like to know if there is even a better bagel place in Boston). Soft, chewy inside, crunchy outside. My go to is an everything bagel with chive cream cheese. I love adding their oven roasted tomatoes and bacon (yes, I'm disgusting, but this is delicious I tell you). Their cold brew is great too, I which it came it in a larger size! I will not pass up any opportunity to go here when I pass through Porter Square. read more

I come here regularly & a big fan. Bagel sandwiches are great, particularly recommend the sea salt. Staff are friendly and helpful. Visiting on weekend & Friday mornings is going to take a lot of time - really long lines, can be slow service and the small space is packed. Other weekdays it can be a great place to start the day! read more

Simply the best bagels I've ever had in my life. Lightly chewy crispy crunchy on the outside and yeasty-risen light on the inside. I had the black olive and the cinnamon raisin. Not much else to say, except that, really, I could eat these all day. read more

The sea salt bagel was delicious, but the real winner was the banana bread! I'm not sure if its worth waiting in line for 20 minutes as there are plenty of other great bagel spots, but I would come to Bagelsaurus again! read more

The best bagels and best service. I'm glad they seem to have weathered this terible time. Can't wait until they're fully open but the online ordering and pick-up has been seamless. read more

This place offers a variety of delicious freshly made bagels with great options for condiments. If you enjoy pretzels I would highly suggest the pretzel bagel with mustard butter. The location itself is very small and offers limited seating, the staff is friendly, fast and appears to enjoy working together. I look forward to visiting again. read more

The bagels are delicious, as are the flavored cream cheeses. Highly recommend honey rosemary cream cheese on a sea salt bagel. Staff is friendly and quick despite long lines. Have to take off two stars though because of the exorbitant prices. $2.50 a single bagel with nothing on it-maybe justifiable for the hand crafted, organic, sustainable ingredients aspects? But 1.75 for a can of soda? Hopefully the prices are used to pay their employees well. read more

Okay, yes these bagels are amazing. But I don't know if I can justify the huge wait for a bagel sandwich. One Saturday morning, frustrated by waiting times and lack of options for brunch in Cambridge, I came here with a friend. I'd heard good things, driven by tons of times, and thought it would be worth a try. I'm not sure if everyone else had the same idea or what exactly happened, but when I showed up, I had to join a line of at least 50 other people. Not cool. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I made my way to the counter. I had the eggspanola (egg, feta, aioli, parsley, and avocado) and my friend had the T-Rex (almond butter, banana, honey, bacon). Yes, they were both delicious. And yes, I would eat either again in a second. But come on...45 minutes for a bagel sandwich. A little further down the road is Darwins; I can get a sandwich from there, finish eating it, and have started my day before I even get up to the counter to order my sandwich at Bagelsaurus. I'm not sure what the solution is to improve the efficiency here, but that and the limited seating are really the only things that I would change about the place. read more

Yes, the food is great. Great bagels, great sandwiches, good coffee. However I can't abide the service. Here, getting a bagel is a spectacle, you're supposed to come with friends and chat as you waiting in line, you're supposed to smile as they change the magnetic signs, taking down poppy when they run out, clipping up sea salt after they bring a fresh basket from the oven. This isn't for me: I'm looking for a no-bullshit bagel experience. Terrace Bagels near Prospect Park SE is my gold standard. Doesn't matter how long the line is because you're hardly even standing still. At the register you're gonna choose what type of bagel you want, whether you want toasted or untoasted, and what type of cream cheese. One guys stands there slicing and throwing bagels in the toaster, the other guy does the schmear, wraps your bagel in foil and tosses it in a paper bag, then you're out. It takes just a few minutes, and you haven't even missed the train. I'll come back in a few months to see if this place has sorted itself out - the bagels really are quite good. read more

That honey rosemary cream cheese. Wow. I would be quite happy eating it straight out of a tub, but I guess then I wouldn't have any room for the bagels. But seriously, don't miss out on this cream cheese! Bagesl are nice and chewy, and work perfectly as a breakfast bagel sandwich as well. I have tried the classic jumbo with bacon and roasted tomatoes on an everything bagel, which was real tasty. I definitely recommend including the roasted tomatoes, which added a nice salty tartness. Fun fact, I'm sure it's not recommended, but they reheat quite nicely in the microwave the next day (for those that don't live close by like me and want to make the most out of their trip :P). It is indeed pricey for a bagel, but makes for a very solid breakfast. read more

So here's the deal, the bagels are WAY chewy. I'm realizing what people mean now when they say New York City bagels are the best. So that's minus one star. The sandwiches as a whole were pretty good. My favorite is the one eggspanola - and it happens to be one of the less expensive one: bonus!! The t-Rex and smoked salmon was ok read more

I had really high expectations for Bagelsaurus, but it was a pretty average experience for me. I got a Sea Salt bagel with the Honey Rosemary cream cheese and a Cucumber Lemonade. Both of these menu items had a really sharp taste at first that I wasn't sure about, but they both got better as I continued. The bagels are super chewy, which was annoying and made it difficult to eat. It also made a mess with the cream cheese, too. It was a small shop and super busy, so it's better to get something to-go since seating is limited. Customer service was average. One final note: this place is close to Porter Square, but it's not in the shopping center; you have to walk down the street a bit to find it. read more

The pretzel bagel was a bit salty for my liking, but that's on me for picking that bagel to go with what I wanted. I did enjoy the bacon very much. read more

This place was a little pit stop en route for a day of #things white people like (i.e. hiking, brew tour, leaf-peeping). I rarely eat bagels (and am not a snob at all about them). In fact, I thought Bruger's Bagels were good--but everyone gasped and was like wtf are you talking about?! The good: -delicious bagels and locks (yes, I am a JEW). -they have coffee -staff is friendly -bagels for 25 bucks in the bag. This place loses a star for price (12 dollars for a bagel w/ salmon?!) #Jewish read more

I used to live in Somerville and made Bagelsaurus part of my weekend routine. I still make the trek from Boston, because the bagels are *that* good. They are on the doughy side, but I like that. The sandwich menu is original and tasty. I've been very happy with the Classic and the Chicken Salad. I have a friend who loved the Eggspañol and texted me about it hours later. There will be at least a 20-minute wait, but it's worth it. Also, I love that eating here means supporting a local business owned by a young entrepreneur. You can read her story here: http://www.edibleboston.com/bagelsaurus/, or more about her bagels here: http://www.thekitchn.com/how-mary-ting-hyatt-of-bagelsaurus-makes-the-best-bagels-in-boston-maker-tour-203235. read more

Stopped by bagelsaurus today to grab a quick lunch! I'd been once before and had the sea salt bagel with honey rosemary cheese, which was literally the greatest bagel combo I'd ever eaten. It made me a believer in bagels again, which I previously wasn't much of a fan of. This time, I decided to try one of the sandwiches that everyone was raving about. I stuck with my sea salt bagel and went for the eggspanola sandwich. The flavors were amazing but a tad salty for my sweet tooth. I found it a little hard to take bites out of, but every bite was amazing, and inconvenience doesn't diminish taste in my book. Would definitely recommend! read more

Went here for brunch on a Sunday and the line was long! Probably waited for 20 minutes. It's obviously very difficult to get a seat inside (and I wouldn't want to since so many people are always walking right past you in a small space), so be prepared to get your bagel to go. Looove. Bagels stay fresh and yummy-tasting even after bringing them home, freezing and re-heating.

I'm not sure which has more hype: Bagelsaurus or Zion Williamson. If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say Bagelsaurus has the best bagels outside of New York, I could buy at least two bagels (they're expensive!). So, being a bagel enthusiast, I decided to give it a try. The verdict? They're good. How good? That's to be determined. I haven't yet bumped into a better bagel in Boston, but that's not to say it's beyond belief. Delicious bagels (my fav is getting a Salt bagel with butter and jam), great coffee (La Colombe), and friendly service. Only downsides are: wish they had decaf, it's a little pricey, the lines are intense. But, mainly I'm just thrilled to have them in the neighborhood. PS: please open on Mondays! Starting the week without Bagelsaurus is just too cruel. read more

I'm someone who really likes chewy bread. Bagelsaurus was okay...maybe ranked a 6 on the scale of 1 to 10 of perfect chewiness. I tried the pretzel bagel with scallion cream cheese and the sesame bagel with plain cream cheese. The pretzel bagel tasted like a classic german pretzel but not as fluffy. It also wasn't like he buttery pretzels that I'm more a fan of. The sesame bagel was actually pretty good. An abundance of sesames and perfectly toasted. In terms of the cream cheese - solid. read more

A little expensive and a little bit hipster, but man are these bagels damn good. Happy to have a local bagel shop with good eats because Bruegger's and Dunkins does not cut it for this Brooklyn girl. The shop is small and the lines are long during rush hour but it's worth the short wait. read more

I popped in and had a breakfast sandwich on an Everything. Three stars right off for having Everything bagels, the single most popular variety that less intelligent shopkeeps routinely watch run out of stock at 8 am without ever thinking, "hey... It just occurred to me that the only reason anyone would order these other bagels is that the Everythings they actually want are all sold out. Maybe I should tell my supplier to quintuple the proportion of those babies!" Not only that, but their Everythings had some sea salt, a requirement. Aside from that, it wasn't amazing - the bagel was sort of doughy and white- like the line at Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. It needed a little more baking. The egg sandwich was so greasy, and cost $8. I think I prefer the Bruegger's option just up the street. I will come back if I again find the line unusually short, perhaps to see if a toasted and buttered Everything hits the mark. read more

Bagelsourus is a necessity if you're in need of a quick and casual breakfast. Better get there early before they start running out of bagel flavors or before they run out of bagels entirely! I ordered the Eggspañola on an onion bagel. This particular one has great flavor as a result of the pimenton sauce. It was just so different and very tasteful for a bagel sandwich. However, the egg was overlooked and not runny at all so that was disappointing. They have typical bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwiches, but this one stood out pretty well. I also ordered their iced coffee... This was my only disappointment. It was extreme dull tasting even after using half of their cream in the store! Next time I will skip the coffee and make sure to get there early to try out the pretzel bagel!! read more

So good! I have never had a NY bagel (I know, a sin) but this is by far the best bagel place I have been to (and I LOVE carbs) in the Boston area . I usually get the Eggspanola on a Sea Salt bagel (PRIME) with a green tea. The bagels are super flavorful and have the perfect chewy on the inside, crunchy on the outside consistency. There are a bunch of bagel flavors, sweet and savory, and various spreads and egg 'fillings'. The place is cozy (seats around 10 ppl or so) and there is a huge rush on the weekends and later in the weekdays. I appreciate how Bagelsaurus uses silver/metal plates and cups if you dine in because it refuces a ton of trash! The service is very direct in that you order your meal and get it , nothing too spectacular. Great place for a good breakfast, I recommend it ! read more

All I wanted was a bacon egg and cheese the morning after a night of hard partying, so when Yelp pointed out Bagelsaurus down the road from my hotel I said "Well it looks a little too fancy, but it will have to do." I woozily trudged a mile down the road in 85 degree heat most definitely looking like a hot mess and kept myself going solely by focusing on the bagel at the end of the tunnel. When I finally had that glorious bagel in my hands, it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I almost wish I wasn't hungover so I could have enjoyed it more. I should also point out that I had been indecisive while in line and couldn't choose between a breakfast sandwich and a bagel with fresh strawberry cream cheese, so I did what anyone with a raging headache and empty stomach would do and ordered all of it. Sorry not sorry. They were amazing and I have no regrets. Best hangover bagels I've ever had. 10 of 10. read more

Ok, our landlord is replacing the windows to our entire house and roomies and I are displaced and decided to land on bagels this morning. The egg sandwich, esp. the roasted tomatoes, more than redeems for the loxless state of affairs at Bagelsaurus. Only change to the sandwich I would ask is to have the egg be not so overcooked. I like it when the yolk runs, drips, and skid-daddles across the edges of my freshly roasted carbs...esp. when it's snowing sideways out and I can't go home. One of my friends had the perfect runny egg the rest of us envied..it was tempting to lick the yolk off her bagel and claim it for ourselves, but we restrained. Genuine. Real. Bagels. I've read and heard a number of complaints about long lines and limited seating-I think that's to be expected when a product is in demand. Yes, do not expect to rush in and rush out within a matter of minutes on a Saturday. Expect to wait in line with a bunch of hungover students. Also, don't be surprised if all the bagels are gone once you get there. They sell out quickly! The bagels are perfectly chewy, gluten-y, salty, and soft. People that complain about them being difficult to eat must not eat many genuine bagels. I'd also like to add that I've never been greeted by anything less than smiles and kindness by Bagelsaurus employees. Keep up the great work, guys! read more

My favorite things about Bagelsaurus. 1. The food is consistent. I've been coming here for a year now and it is always delicious. Never an off day. 2. The ingredients are excellent. I often get the BLT and they pile on the bacon. 3. I don't care how much they charge for their sandwiches. I just fork over my money because it's just that good. 4. I love the seasonal drinks they have- cucumber lemonade, yes please! 5. The seasonal cream cheese is also great- strawberry cream cheese, yum! How I do my Bagelsaurus. 1. I never go on the weekend. Ever. 2. I go during the week, usually between the morning and lunch rush. My flexible schedule allows for that. If you can, you should too! read more

I've been looking for a good bagel spot since I moved to MA...and this place is definitely it!

Wow what a delicious treat! Luckily I went this morning so the line wasn't bad at all but still had to wait a few minutes to order. I ordered a pretzel bagel (toasted) with honey rosemary cream cheese and salmon. The bagel was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cream cheese was slathered and warm from the toasted bagel which I loved, how can i not? The cream cheese was heavy and creamy and worked as a perfect pairing to my pretzel bagel. In addition to the cream cheese I ordered the salmon which was also tasty but not your normal smoked salmon. It was really cooked salmon pieces on the bagel. My only complaint was that the bagel was a tad salty but not overly salty where I couldn't enjoy it. Also, get the cookies!! Holy crap those are good. I will be back sampling the many cream cheeses and bagels. Thanks Bagelsaurus! read more
