God I love you, Bagelsaurus. Why can't you open up another store in Central Square so that I could take our relationship to the next level and move in? Now I have to search on Zillow for apartments closer to you. I love this place. The bagel varieties are plenty and all delicious. Bagels here are never stale but rather fresh and fluffy. The Hot Salmon bagel sandwich on a seeded wheat bagel is my favorite. I love the red cabbage and dill combo with the delicious salmon. Nommmm nom nom! My husband swears by the sesame bagel toasted and lathered in honey rosemary cream cheese. And we both LOVE the banana bread here. The sugar crumble on top is completely necessary and if you come here you have to order it. Even if you feel like it'll be too much food- just order it. You won't regret it. Service and food were rather fast though, so I definitely appreciated that. I ordered the Classic Jumbo on a plain bagel. I liked the mustard butter flavor contrasting with the cheese, but I felt the bagel itself was just way too chewy. I don't know where their bacon comes from, but it's great, and cooked perfectly, and piled on. There wasn't any space inside and it was cold, so my boyfriend and I sat in my car and devoured our bagel sandwiches. We ate, wordlessly, noisily, until every bite was gone. I seriously debated going back in for a second BLT before shaming myself out of that idea. We'll be back for sure if we're in the area again. read more

Walked by here the other day and saw the line out the door so figured it'd go in. The place is rather small, so the line isn't too bad (maybe a 10-15 minute wait from the door the counter). Ordered a salt bagel with the honey rosemary spread. This place is on the pricier end but it's worth it if you buy in bulk or only go occasionally. The honey rosemary is amazing and something I haven't found anywhere else. Would definitely recommend! Goes well with the salt as it helps balance the sweetness of the spread. read more

We came here on a Monday morning and the service was pretty quick. We got the Classic jumbo on a pretzel bun and added roasted tomatoe and ham. We also got avocado and smoked salmon on a pretzel bun. The classic jumbo with the added tomatoe and ham was out of this world. Tomatoe is a must to add. Smoked salmon was ok, I was expecting lox and this is more of a cooked, smoked salmon. Bagelsaurus is a gem: their bagels are light and fluffy (almost like sourdough bread), their eggs are the perfect amount of runny, and their cheese is runny. They have tons of fun bagels but my go to is the classic jumbo with no meat, add roasted tomatoes, on a cheddar garlic bagel. I've been there way too many times and I've realized that the roasted tomatoes are what make the Bagel a 10/10. The only tough part about bagelsaurus is that on weeekdays you have to order ahead (it usually takes 10-15 minutes so just order before you go) and on weekends you have to order the night before. Its tough but honestly it's quick because they are ready when you go to pick it up! It's totally worth it too. read more

I never wait in line for food if I can help it, but the wait for this place was actually worthwhile (tbh the weather was really nice outside too) and the line moved faster than I anticipated. The bagels themselves are so creative and flavorful, and the adorable theme/decor really tipped the scale for me from 4 to 5 stars. I went in a group of six friends, and we all buddied up so that we could split two different flavors each, and then tried mini bites of everyone else's as well. The tricky part is actually deciding what to get because there are quite a few pre-set breakfast sandwich options (sweet and savory and more), and then on top of that, you have to choose what TYPE of bagel to go with your option. And there are many many types of bagels - my favorite being the pretzel bagel I think :) Overall, there was a general consensus that all the different bagels and the corresponding menu were pretty delish. I just wish this place had been around when I used to live within a 10 min walking distance several years ago! read more

When you're regretting all the toxins you had to intake last night or feeling refreshed after a morning run because you took the high road and stayed in on a Friday night...or just genuinely enjoy people watching and get a kick out of people's hungover misery. It's one of those bagels that's perfectly warm and toasted on the outside, with a flaky crust that's to die for..and a semi fluffy interior that you don't get sick of after 5 minutes of chewing stale bodega bagels (sorry Brooklyn). And better yet, slab on some of that homemade cream cheese and toss on some lettuce & tomato and call it a day. -1 star for the 45 minute wait... oh wow does it get crowded here on weekends. The line is at least 30-40 people long at 7:50am. If you don't want to stand around in line for 30-60 minutes you for sure need to show up early OR if you are just planning on grabbing a bunch of bagels you can skip the line between 8-10 on saturdays and sundays for their bakers dozen bag. Typically I show up around 7:40am and am one of the first ten people in line and the line moves pretty quickly. Their bagels are definitely the best I have had in the area but no where close to a good NY bagel. They are smaller and chewier than bagels I typically like. I like giant, warm from the oven, crisp on the outside and a nice doughy inside (you will not get that here). but for the area they are quality. You can't go wrong with a classic jumbo sandwich or the T-Rex (almond butter, banana, honey, bacon) - both are delicious! The one bagel I haven't like from here is the onion - it tasted off when I got it. I would recommend stopping by if you have the time but between the extremely long line (they sell out pretty early some days also) definitely NOT a MUST go to in the area. Just the only spot where you can find a decent bagel. read more

Two friends and I had fun here today. It was very nice to find a dedicated bagel place in Cambridge. We tried both the Classic Jumbo and Eggspanola sandwiches. The cheese on the Classic Jumbo was amazingly flavorful, and the mustard butter on the bagel was a nice touch. The Eggspanola was very flavorful as well, although I personally preferred the cheddar on the Classic Jumbo. I get the feeling you can't go wrong here though. The walk from Harvard Square to Bagelsaurus is well-worth the trip, and at a brisk pace you can get there in less than 15 minutes. It has a small store-front but the food is worth the cramped table-space! The bagels are unique and delicious but it's the cream cheese that really makes this place shine. The rosemary-honey cream cheese is rich and unlike any flavored cream cheese I've ever had or seen! Absolutely delicious! If you plan on going, take a look at the menu beforehand. We picked up bagels for ourselves and our son and daughter-in-law at Bagelsaurus on Mass Ave in Cambridge, and boy were they great! We ate on them all the way home to Asheville, NC. They were delicious every morning. We especially loved the "Everything" variety. I've had the bagels in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and also elsewhere in the Boston area, and many are wonderful, but I think Bagelsaurus is the best. For $25 for a dozen, they are a little pricey but worth it. read more

Ohhh I wish we had a bagelsaurus in Toronto!! My brother and I got 2 bagels to share. We got there around noon and they were sold out of most of their bagels except for rye and plain. I got the egg, cheese and mustard butter on a plain bagel. I absolutely loved it! Perfect balance of flavours. My brother got a plain bagel with the honey rosemary cream cheese. I was SO skeptical about the cream cheese but MAN. It. Works. His bagels was so yummy. I just wish we got in earlier to try the different bagel flavours. The customer service is great. Can't believe I waited five years to finally try this place out! I got the Eggspanola bagel with avocado on an onion bagel. I thought the cheese was a little too much but besides that it was delicious! A friend got the Eggspanola on a bialy which I totally wish I did because it looked delicious. Bagelsaurus is a solid option for when you're craving a fresh bagel in the Boston area. The bagels at Bagelsaurus are pretty different from New York bagels. They're smaller and chewier, though they still have good flavor. I've decided that I prefer the giant fluffy-with-chewy-edges New York bagels with copious amounts of tofu spread, but if you value the filling of a bagel as much as the actual bagel, I think you'd really like Bagelsaurus. I've tried the smoked salmon bagel as well as the classic jumbo bagel on a pretzel bun. I enjoyed the smoked salmon bagel because the salmon was flaky and translucent, unlike typical lox, but thought the classic jumbo bagel was a bit salty. If you're a bit sensitive to salt, I'd recommend ordering it on a plain bagel rather than the pretzel bagel. I've also tried the T-rex without bacon, and it was good, though I find almond butter a bit cloying. The main downside to Bagelsaurus is that now that I'm vegan, the only savory option would be to order a bagel with beet hummus and maybe avocado and cucumber. While that would still be tasty, I think it would be great if they had a savory vegan option with protein on their menu. That said, they have enough on their menu that that doesn't factor into my rating. Overall, definitely check out Bagelsaurus if you're craving a fresh bagel. They don't quite fill the gaping New York bagel hole in my heart, but their sandwiches are still solid, and their name is adorable. read more

Wow. Just wow. These are definitely among the best bagels I've ever had, which is saying something. You can tell they have the recipe figured out to perfection in two specific areas; first, they boil them for the perfect amount of time, getting a great, chewy consistency to the outside of the bagels, and second, you get a clear and fantastic sourdough flavor from the bagels. These are the two things that most bagel shops don't do well, purely because they are difficult to do at scale (both being time-consuming) and are hard to teach easily. Their onion bagels and salt bagels both have the ingredients mixed in, which both makes them tastier than the typical ingredients-on-the-outside approach that many bagel shops use, while also making them cleaner to eat! I'd advise you pick up 6 or a dozen and stash in the freezer so you can satisfy that craving without the odyssey. M-F you can call ahead with pre-order, but on weekends, walk-in only. On the weekend, if you're planning to get a bunch and you're not picky about variety, you can mostly bypass the wait via the Grab Bags express line: 8am-10am, mixed baker's dozen of assorted flavors (you don't get to pick flavors) for $25, option to add spreads ($5/ tub) and/or coffee. No substitutions, no bagel sandwich add-ons. Is a bagel *really* worth all of this? For a Bagelsaurus bagel, yes. My obsession began in the office kitchen: I picked up a bagel as I would any other breakfast food leftover from a meeting. I could tell by the exterior they looked super legit: crispy exterior, lots of bubbles. I toasted it and topped with some of the weird-bits-in-it cream cheese. I took a bite, and my life was forever changed. This was, hands down, the BEST bagel in Boston. How do they do it?! It's so chewy soft inside, but so crispy eggy perfect outside! Oh, and the cream cheese with weird bits in it? Honey. Rosemary. Cream cheese. Honestly, why isn't all cream cheese honey rosemary? On a sea salt bagel, this is the pinnacle of perfection. Adorable bagel shop with super long line over the weekend. I recommend coming around 1:30 pm over the weekend to avoid the brunch rush. I shared bagels with my friend (eggsponola and T-Rex). 2 words Hot Smoked!!! Every time we have been here there is a decent line but it has always moved relatively quickly and we have always found a seat inside. The hot smoked is a perfect combination of cream cheese, salmon, dill and pickled onion, my constant go to. I do make a substitution for different flavored cream cheese if they have a fun special flavor like the honey rosemary. Hands down probably the best bagels I've ever had in my life. We've been fans since they opened and now drive in from MetroWest whenever we have a bagel craving. I see from reviews that it's challenging with their online ordering to get a bagel especially on a whim, which is too bad because their stuff is absolutely worth it! We managed to land an order of baker's dozen of bagels as well as sandwiches on a Sunday around 11:00am. But we've also swung by on a Saturday and they've been sold out by noon. In disbelief, I called them from the back of the line (about 2 blocks away) and cancelled my order. What a waste of everyone's time.
