Bagelsaurus is one of our favorite places to go to when visiting Boston. We literally plan our trip around making sure we stop by at least once while we are in town. We had t been in a few years so we made sure to pop in and grab a couple sammys while we were close by. I always order the classic jumbo and add bacon, a regular everything for our little one, the charcuterbrie and the lox bagel. We even got a shirt this time. Can't wait to come back. This rivals our favorite bagel spot in Atlanta.
Glad we finally caught this spot without the usual line out the door and down the block! They've got a huge variety of bagels, spreads, breakfast meats, and sandwiches to choose from. The standout for us was definitely the scallion cream cheese, easily one of the best I've ever had. The bagels themselves were solid, though a little on the smaller side, they skimped on the bacon on the sandwiches and slightly overpriced for the size.
My friend and I came here for breakfast on a Friday morning around 10am. While it was busy, the line wasn't that long and we were able to get a table. We shared the eggspañola sandwich, which had an egg, feta, pimenton aioli, and parsley gremolata. We also shared a salt bagel with honey-rosemary cream cheese. The bagels aren't as large as standard New York bagels, but their texture and flavor is good, even if it's not exactly the same.
This was a great bagel sandwich and I thought it was reasonably priced considering how packed it was. I got the hot smoked salmon sandwich on an everything bagel. I also tried the coffee cake, which was decent but obviously the bagels are really where this place shines. I thought it was a nice touch they had oat milk available for free to add to your coffee by the water dispenser!
I'll be honest, I originally picked this place for its name. I was staying nearby, and it sounded like a good breakfast option. I didn't realize it was such a popular one! I stopped by on a Sunday morning, maybe 9am, and there was a ridiculously long line. But I had nothing better to do that early, so I stuck it out. Let me just say, that place is worth the wait. I had their Blt on a cheddar garlic bagel, and it was one of the best bagel sandwiches I've had. My only wish is that along with their shirts, they sold stickers. Great logo. Highly recommend this place. I may just need to make a special trip the next time I'm in Boston.
AMAZING bagels! The best in the Boston area. I've been here so many times and checked out other bagel spots, but always come back to bagelsaurus - it is simply hard to beat the quality bagels they serve! Bagels: highly recommend the cheddar garlic bagels (a special offered Friday-Sunday), honey rosemary cream cheese (good on any bagel but especially love it on pretzel or sea salt). Staff are super friendly! The owner is very kind. There is some seating inside the shop, but if you walk down the street, there are some parks and benches to sit at.
Bagelsaurus never disappoints. If you come on the weekend, be prepared to wait. The bagels are so good, the wait is totally worth it. I usually like to order for pickup, but sometimes it's not open for online orders. I walked in on a Friday morning and there was zero wait time to order and it only took about 10 mins for my food to be prepared. Today we got sammies for lunch. They were so good. I got a chicken salad on a garlic parm bagel and added cheddar. Check out my pic! You gotta check this place out. If you're lucky you'll get a parking out front and a seat inside!
Rated top bagels of Boston so we had to try! I didn't think much about the wait time but we arrived about 30min after opening and there was already a small line out the door. It didn't take too long to order but I can imagine the line gets very long by mid morning on the weekend. There were so many unique choices with some classics. We ordered a hot lox sandwich on a pretzel bagel and an everything bagel with honey rosemary cream cheese. The sandwich description intrigued us so we chose it over the cold version but after trying it, I think we'll get the cold one instead. The rosemary cream cheese leans sweet over savory but overall still tasty. The bagels, even the pretzel one, was slightly chewy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. A little tough but not bad. There's only limited seating inside so I wouldn't count on sitting down to eat in here. Side note that they have really cute merch inside!
Best bagels outside of the NYC area. The plain bagels are my favorite and the bacon egg and cheese is amazing and the ingredients are clearly high quality
This place is awesome, and they recently expanded with more seating and options! I've been a handful of times and my bagel has been incredible every time. Fair prices, great portions, and good local coffee too.
This is by far, the best bagel shop i have ever been to!! I am STILL thinking about the bagel sandwich i had and even tried to recreate it at home. I ordered the EGGSPAÑOLA | $9 - organic over-medium jumbo egg, Maplebrook feta, pimenton aioli, parsley gremolata. It was worth every penny; my mouth was salivating from the first bite. I wish i could go back to MA, just for this sandwich. The female cashier that took my order was so sweet as well, this place really made an incredible first impression on me.
These bagels are DELICIOUS! It is so worth the wait. We came on a Saturday around 11am and waited about 15-20 min in line, and another 15 for the food. If you have extra time to spare, definitely just do it because the bagels are sooooo good. It's super cute inside and rather small so don't expect to be able to sit down. Also, their hats for sale are adorable and high quality!
Bagelsaurus is a quaint little shop near Porter Square that serves some delicious bagels. They sell out quickly, so go as early as you can. Also the shop gets cramped easily, so it's better to get things to-go. We tried their cold-smoked sandwich which was rather tasty. I think the dill cream cheese & smoked salmon filling was actually the star compared to the bagel itself. Those were very fresh and balanced. I think it would've tasted better if the bagel was warmed, because otherwise it was a rather standard everything bagel. Overall I still enjoyed everything though, would come back for sure.

Found the spot via Yelp as it was close to where staying for the night. As approaching the location, there was a line of roughly 20 people waiting to go in. For this 7 month pregnant gal, even if it wasn't where I was initially going to go, you knew it had to be great. It was very busy at 9:30am on a Saturday morning, though things moved smoothly and fast for the amount of business they were doing. The only thing I additionally wanted was a decaf coffee, they only serve regular. There are plenty of other coffee spots within a .25 miles radius and more seating available. read more

Visited on a Saturday morning around 9:30 am- got 2 sandwiches and a 1/2 dozen bagels with cream cheese, our grand total was $34. Parking was relatively easy to find, we got lucky and found a spot right out front. 30-minute metered parking, so bring your quarters! When we pulled up, we saw the line- but read a few reviews that encouraged it moved quickly. We waited about 25 mins in line, not terrible. It was a beautiful day out so we enjoyed the weather. They have a great grab and go system- skip the line and get a random assortment of bagels. We got the Charcuterie Sandwich and the Jumbo. Charcuterie was a little underwhelming. My sandwich had a TON of arugula on it- I had to remove some, I couldn't taste anything but greens. The jumbo was delicious and rich- highly recommend adding bacon. The 1/2 dozen of bagels we got smelled unbelievable. Hot out of the oven. We drooled on the way home! We split the pretzel bagel and were both disappointed we didn't get our sandwiches on a pretzel bagel! If you're up for a little wait, and a delicious pretzel bagel, I would recommend! read more

Best spot for bagels in Cambridge. Is the name cutesy? Yes. Does this mean their bagels aren't legit? Absolutely not. LOGISTICS -This is a tiny space- don't let the line all the way to the door intimidate you (there WILL be a line to the door, especially Friday to Sunday). The staff is excellent and the line moves quickly. -Come earlier in the day if you have your heart set on a particular bagel. Come early afternoon, the chalkboard menu is covered in masking tape pieces, signifying a sold out flavor. -Come on Friday for maximum options. They'll have all the usuals plus a couple of their special flavors and sometimes pizza bagels. THE BAGELS In a word, perfect. Slightly crunchy exterior and chewy all the way through. Always fresh, always well seasoned. This is a true east coast bagel. I usually can't resist a classic everything with cream cheese, but they have a hot pepper schmear that is to tie for and a great line up of breakfast sandwiches for those looking for a real meal. The iced coffee is not too shabby. THE SPACE More of a grab it and go place. Small, with a few tables. Tidy and well lit, they maximize the space well. Good for having your bagel and iced coffee, not designed for you to camp out with a laptop. If you REALLY want to come for a quiet read or to catch up with a friend, come early or come on a weekday. The staff is always pleasant and efficient, the bagels are always toasted and fresh. Make this your next bagel- you won't regret it. read more
My friend and I were in town so we decided to go here for lunch. We both ordered the "Hot Smoked" sandwiches. There was a line but the service was quick. Cafe is cozy and clean. If you plan on 'eating in here' with a friend(+), you might need a game plan because the tables might be all taken. Just know what to order before hand. So that way your friend can order for you while you are on a look out for available tables. Seating is based on "seat yourself, first come" if you know what I mean. Yes, you will desperately go on hawk mode here because you are hungry and refuse to eat standing up. Also, I believe bagels run out after 2:30pm so keep that in mind, go to lunch early! Overall, I enjoyed my bagel sandwich! It tasted fresh with unique ingredients coming from someone who's visiting from Southern California. This bagel shop is not overrated at all! read more
Great bagel sandwich spot, if you don't mind being a little patient and waiting in line. Not the best bagel sandwich I've ever had, but pretty solid. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on a garlic cheddar bagel (only available on weekends) and a La Colombe cold brew. Bagel definitely tasted fresh, was chewier than it was fluffly, and had a sourdough tang to it. The fried egg was slightly runny and the bacon was thick-cut with an applewood smoked finish. The cold brew was great, very smooth. The order came out to around $12 - so a little bit more than I'd want to pay, but pretty in line with the prices in the area. There is some seating available inside, maybe 5-6 tables, but I wouldn't count on snagging one. Will definitely be back the next time the craving strikes. read more

i have to admit that nothing will beat a new york bagel, but this bagel came pretty close. the everything bagel has the perfect crust with a nice chew. the spicy pepper schmear was a bit underwhelming and lacking in flavor, i think adding a little bit more of the pepper would have made it the perfect texture. the shop is pretty small and the wait time was almost 40 minutes on a sunday morning, but the service was amazing and the cashiers were very attentive even with the overflow of customers. read more

- Bagels are very soft and fresh, bursting with flavor - Hot Smoked everything bagel was well worth 11 dollars if you've never had one and looking for a treat. But you can't go wrong with any bagel that may be cheaper - On Saturday or Sunday you preorder online which is very easy and they are punctual with pickup times. You cannot walk into the store on the weekend though - I did note they still accepted orders for walkins on weekend but would not necessarily guarantee that - there's a church across the street with some steps you can sit and eat read more
Best bagel in the Boston area. Maybe better than the bagels though are the spreads! The honey rosemary and mustard butter are my favorites - they're light, but pack a ton of flavor. I'd say it's the closest thing to a NY bagel outside of NY. Get there early as the line gets long and they do run out. Seating is very limited, so I always get my bagels/breakfast sandwiches to go and bring my food to eat by the wharf in Charlestown. read more

When you're ordering, you better order QUICK because bagels will be selling out while you're putting your order in and checking out so you have to be quick. Pick up is quick and easy and it was delicious! The smoky flavor was amazing but wasn't overwhelming. Can't wait to go back and try to another sandwich! read more
This has become one of my favorite bagel shops in the Cambridge/Boston area. The lox bagel is phenomenal, loaded with all the goodness. The classic jumbo is great too, tried and true but with a kick with the mustard butter. They do not take call ahead orders, and sometimes sell out on the weekends, so have a backup plan if you plan on coming on the later side. There are maybe 4 tables for two people there, so plan on getting your order to go if you go during a busy time. read more

If you can make it past the long lines (or if you're lucky enough to visit when there isn't a long line), definitely check this place out. I'd recommend not waiting to go until an hour before they close because they will probably run out and close shop earlier than posted time. Ok, so about the bagel. The bagels are pretty good. I had the hot smoked on onion and then a cinnamon with rosemary cream cheese. Both were super tasty. The hot smoked is has a good amount of toppings and the flavors are really on point. I also loved the cinnamon bagel as a sweeter dessert bagel. The prices are a bit high so this place is more of a treat than you're every day bagel shop, unless you like dropping $14 on a bagel. read more

My absolute favorite bagel place in Boston. Bagels I recommend: EGGSPAÑOLA (5/5), HOT SMOKED (4/5) - too much dill plz chill on the amount of dill, CLASSIC JUMBO (4/5). I LOVE bagelsaurus! I had heard about this place for a while now, and I'm mad it took me this long to come here. My friends and I came in on a saturday a little before 8am, and there was already a line forming. It does take a bit of time to get through the line, we waited about 15/20 minutes I'd say to order. The staff was super friendly, and there is some seating available indoors, but it can be kind of crowded to sit and eat while theres a huge line of people waiting to order. I ended up getting the eggspanola w/ avocado on a pretzel bagel, and it was incredible. This is definitely the best place to get a bagel in the boston/cambridge area. I usually always order on wheat bagels, but when I was waiting in line I saw the pretzel one and I'm so glad I got it, it's super thick and fluffy, you should definitely try it if you go! read more

Bagelsaurus has some of the best bagels I have tried in the Boston area. The texture is unbeatable-perfectly chewy on the outside and not too dense on the inside. The Jumbo Sandwich was fantastic, I added avocado. I also have tried a sea salt bagel with honey rosemary cream cheese (their classic combo) and it works amazing together. The honey rosemary cream cheese is sweet on its own but with the sea salt bagel it is balanced out. I personally thought there was a little too much cream cheese but I just scraped some off and I'd always rather too much than too little. Since they are so popular however, they do tend to sell out early on the weekends. For weekdays they offer online order which I would recommend because otherwise it can get backed up. read more

Seriously!! So good!!! Vetted by a born and bred New Yorker! Moved to Boston from NYC recently, and lamented the idea that I'll no longer get to enjoy the chewy, salty, gorgeous bagels that encompass New York City in reputation. I was wrong!! This place is insane. Don't take my word for it, just try it. Not in like the Trump "try it, what have you got to lose" way when talking about hydroxychloroquine, but in like the, you're a fool if you skip over this place kind of way! read more

Probably my favorite Boston institution, by far. I'm so glad that I get to live close to Bagelsaurus and swing by here and there whenever I'm in the mood to sink my teeth into a good sandwich. I'm a little stubborn in that I haven't tried much beyond the Jumbo, which I usually take on an everything bagel with bacon. The ingredients are seriously high quality-- everything from the cheese to the mustard butter. When offered, the chocolate chip pretzel bagel is also good to satisfy a sweet tooth. Be warned that this place has an incredibly long line, so try and come on off hours (mainly weekdays past 9 AM), and note that they sell out occasionally, so try not to come out too late. The (may I note: incredibly kind and warm) staff do take orders in advance if you do call ahead, yet not on weekends. Note that this isn't a fluffy New York bagel, but a Boston bagel, mainly good for the sandwiches here at Bagelsaurus. To be honest, it's like comparing apples to oranges. I miss a Bagelsaurus bagel every time I go home to New York. They always get a 5/5 from me with every visit. read more

Ridiculously priced ($2.50/bagel), EXCEPTIONAL product delivered through a most orderly shopping experience reminiscent of a food ration queue in Cold War-era Soviet Union. But I and the crowd of seemingly privileged Cambridge millennials didn't mind one bit, and I found myself forgetting about my self-mandated pilgrimages to Bagel Boss in Hicksville (Long Island) NY where the bagel gold standard remains. Bagelsaurus has got it down, with bagels steeped in the NY handmade tradition.... dense, chewy and crusty, all at once. And the bagel sandwiches, cream cheeses and toppings are all top-notch, and well-balanced between the traditional and the creative. The Honey Rosemary cream cheese is the bomb. Go on a weekday if you're not good with lines and waiting, however easy it can be in a well-behaved crowd. read more

Worth the wait. Bomb bagels over here. I got the charcuter-brie sandwich which comes with brie, salami, and arugula on a sea salt bagel. The bagel texture was perfect, soft, chewy, and not overly salted. The brie cheese goes great with the bitterness of arugula to make a perfect sandwich. They have a wide range of bagels to choose from and special flavors on weekends. Currently, they have homemade strawberry cream cheese and they've added avocado toast to their menu. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're looking for a quick brekkie around Porter Square. read more

Really great bagels and amazing bagel breakfast sandwiches. I was able to try the hot smoked salmon, which was incredible (and packed of pickled red cabbage, which dominated the flavor). My bf got the classic jumbo with bacon and seemed enamored by the garlic butter, which he said really took it to the next level. I'll definitely get the classic next time we go, which will hopefully be soon! read more
