Nothing special, wish I didn't come out of my way for this. Way too expensive for what it was too, didn't taste fresh. Would have been a whole lot better if the roller derby lovin lady was nicer behind the counter. The guy making the sandwiches was nice though even though he was the one working his tail off and yet he could still bust a smile! Not welcoming or friendly at all, otherwise, which isn't smart when you are representing the Cape to those out of towners during the summer. Great breakfast spot that has everything you could want for the morning. They have great bagels and their breakfast sandwiches are amazing. prices are crazy high. ordered a low carb bagel and a cheese bagel with cream cheese over $10 for 2 bagels! And the low carb bagel was soooo tiny like a super minature bagel. My son and I both burst out laughing when we took it out of the bag. Which was kind of bad because this is a TINY restaurant. They aren't in the case so I didn't see it just wanted to try it. There used to be a terrific local vendor who sold low carb bagels at the gym. Was hoping they were similar. NOT. Very very crowded tiny space. Outside is nice we should have sat there. Went in for some bagels for a trip. Got a dozen for a week trip on the Cape. Bagels were large and fresh. Smelled great in the shop. Also got a "Derby Girl" sandwich to go on whole wheat. Although it is a relatively small bagel shop, the owner appeared to be annoyed with the flow of business. She told customers "we're out of bagels if that's what you're here for," and then preceded to turn around and tell her employees "they're SOL" and laughed. You could hear her negatively talking about customers multiple times and she was overall an unpleasant experience. The eggs are microwaved along with the bacon. First, I am not a disgruntled former employee. I'm a disappointed former regular. The food is fine in a pinch -- the bagels are from Cape Cod Bagels on Palmer Ave in Falmouth. If you're looking for decent bagels on the Upper Cape, go there instead. Don't bother with this place. What's disappointing is the snotty, rude service. Another reviewer says that you need to be a regular to get good service. Believe me, even that doesn't help. I am a regular, as I work in the same office park as BH. They stop serving at 1:50 pm. Fine. The last time I went in (after several previous visits), I walked through the door at 1:40 and got the stink eye from both women behind the counter. Cold stares. Not a "hello", not a "someone will be right with you." After they finished helping the customer in front of me, one of them turns to me with another cold stare. No "how can I help you?" No "what would you like?" Just a belligerent stare. I should have walked out at that point. I asked her if she was done helping the other person, as I was confused about whether I should place my order. She said, "We close in like LITERALLY 2 minutes." I said, "Well, I walked in here at 1:40 and your sign says you stop serving at 1:50, so I made sure to get here before you stopped serving." "Okay, well what do you want?" Again, I missed my cue to leave. I got my sandwich and left. I won't be back. You guys lost a potential regular, and I will be sharing this story with anyone who asks me about your establishment. read more

Nice to find a place that seems to have homemade bagels...something that seems difficult to find around here. They have a good variety and also offer soups and sandwiches, muffins and bars. I have only come here for bagels nothing else (Green Mountain Coffee just doesn't do it for me). They have a nice Asiago Cheese bagel my husband thoroughly enjoys and I like the Spinach/Garlic bagel. They have a few tables to sit at but NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Great if your looking for a quick bite in the am. :) read more

I drop by for a breakfast sandwich or panini at least 4-5 times a week, and its superb every time. The coffee is great, and there's a lot of nice touches you can only get at a local place: home made sandwich spreads and soups, fresh baked breads & bagels, homemade bagel chips, etc. Plus the staff is super friendly. The bagels here are quite excellent but this place needs to overcome some serious operational/supply chain problems if they want to get higher than two stars. During the spring & summer if you come after 9AM, it's very likely that there are no bagels left. None. The staff will just smile and say "sorry, we sold out of bagels". It does not take a Warren Buffett type business mind to see that they are losing out on business here by not making more bagels, not to mention alienating customers who like a later breakfast. That aside, their bagels and homemade cream cheeses are very good, I highly recommend the Lox Cream Cheese. Just get there early unless you want to eat the cream cheese by itself!! read more

Disappointing. I went in and found the attitude of the women behind the counter so incredibly snotty that I canceled my order and left. I am an older woman and have put in many years in the service industry and know how awful some patrons can be. For that reason I try to be polite, reasonable, and patient. I START my tipping at 20% and work up from there. I live here in the neighborhood for half of the year and have done so for almost 30 years, so rest assured I am not a disgruntled ex-employee. I used to go here a lot more, but then new owners bought the place. The food is still good, although a bit overpriced for the amount you get. The problem is the customer service. I once stood at the register for 15 minutes as the staff continuously walked by and ignored me. I would have liked to continue eating here, but it's too much effort to get someone's attention each time. If you need lunch, I'd suggest going to Subway right next door.
