Let me start by saying we have been here many, many times and the experience is always the same. The bagels and specialty cream cheeses are fantastic. However, every single time we go the service is terrible. The employees always seem miserable to be there and it is pulling teeth to get a smile or niceties. One time when we were there an elderly hard of hearing gentleman came in (who we assume is a regular because they knew his name) and they yelled at him to leave because "we don't have time for this today". I've toyed with writing this review for a while because we really do like their bagels but their employees really pack a punch when you're starting your day. read more

My first time here and I ordered a salt bagel with butter. The service was great. The bagel was hard and maybe it was fresh but it didn't seem to be. Adding butter to my bagel was over two dollars and I thought that was a lot. I was not impressed and wouldn't go back. They have some muffins and cinnamon rolls available but I didn't try them. After a fail at another local business, where I tried to get a breakfast sandwich and coffee, I came to this shop that I had never been to before. There was a line of people being a Saturday on a holiday weekend. The line moved at a decent pace. They were a number of employees behind the counter working hard however, most of the customers appear to be on another planet. I didn't have a clear idea of what they wanted or ordering for a basketball team. I got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and a coffee. Bagel was toasted and did not take long to prepare as the staff preparing food orders had the common sense to make simple orders as they came in rather than waiting until the more complex orders were taken care of. Bagel Haven is a hidden gem located in the Deer Crossing Plaza in Mashpee. They offer a wide variety of always fresh bagels and several different flavors of cream cheese. My favorite bagels around. I have recently gotten into bagels and have been trying bagel places in Boston and on the cape. These are by far the best bagels I have tried. I like the rise on the bagel, the texture, and the flavor, even on the plain bagels. My only complaint is that these are also the most expensive bagels I have gotten, even compared to the shops I have tried in Boston. Are they the most delicious authentic New York bagels? No. They are soft and doughy and a little bit sweet. Are they cheap? Also no. A bagel with plain cream cheese and an iced coffee is $10 before tip. Are they only bagel option in the area, though? Yes. Cape Cod Bagel in Falmouth serves these same exact bagels. Stopped in for a bagel with butter didn't pay close attention to the menu only to find a simple butter bagel was $4.25. This is unbelievable for a butter bagel and a complete rip off. I understand is inflation and the cost of goods of Ghana higher at $4.25 for a mediocre bagel is unacceptable. Still the best spot in the area for breakfast. Best service and hardest working staff in the area. Fresh bagels and muffins and great iced/hot coffee. Summer time and weekends can create a wait but it's worth it. They accept credit cards but it's a small local business so use cash and don't be a douche and leave them a tip as they work their butts off every morning. This is one of the best breakfast spots in Mashpee. The bagels are fluffy, perfectly roasted and inventive flavors like italian, French toast, and Asiago (and that's saying a lot coming from a New York City gal). The sandwiches ingredients are delicious and fresh (omelettes, smoked salmon, etc). What's the most impressive about this place though is the efficiency/speed/flexibility and great attitude of the workers. Every other high traffic spot in Mashpee (esp during peak summer times) is so slow and inefficient but not this place (and that's saying a lot coming from a New York City gal lol). Total rip-off!!! Inferior to Cape Cod bagel in every way. Bagels aren't as fresh. You get a teeny tiny amount of bacon. An insulting minimal amount of bacon. So you get much less and pay much more. My wife and I went in to buy a dozen bagels and cream cheeses for the house. Apparently, they can't sell more than a 1/4 lb of any of their flavored cream cheeses (which is a tiny cup considering we just bought 12 bagels!). When I got the 1/4 lb of the walnut cream cheese since that was all she wanted to sell me, she whipped out a container completely full of it. Why not sell me two cups vs one? I had to walk out and then walk back in immediately to buy another small cup of the cream cheese. It was incredibly silly. Also, the bagels were very doughy. These don't taste anything like NY bagels like others have claimed and comparing them to such is disrespectful to NY bagels. TLDR: Silly rules. Stale bagels. No beuno. read more

I had mixed opinions on eating here. I saw positive and negative reviews and wondered why the contrast. The owner informed me that a former employee is disgruntled and trying to sabotage her reviews. She ensured me that the negative comments and implications were not true. After seeing it for myself; I believe her. As for the food: They have a nice selection of muffins and large selection of bagels. Their breakfast menu is small but the food is very tasty and it feels like a homemade sandwich. Pretty good! Enjoyed an everything bagel with Chive cream cheese. The breakfast sandwich, not so much. We also did not enjoy the line of teenagers who do not wear masks or socially distance. We live here in Mashpee and were going to stop off at the Subway (which I am not really a fan of but was hungry enough to stop there) when we spotted the Bagel Haven. I have to say I read the reviews after getting our food and while there were some that say the staff is not friendly or they were rude I would have to disagree. While the staff were not overly friendly I would say that they were NOT rude either. The sandwich my wife ordered was delish and the breakfast bagel I got was as well. We've tried them 3 or 4 times for a dozen bagels each time, and the bagels were ALWAYS stale. Not just a little stale. Really stale. Don't even know why we even gave them so many chances. Their items are so delicious , they might run out of something ~ but you'll always have more than one favorite! Not only is this a go to place for our household (french toast with cinnamon cream cheese and my favorite, asiago cheese with lox cream cheese), but also for some friends (poppyseed bagel with chive cream cheese, or again, the French toast bagel but with blueberry cream cheese).
