Don't know how they make the rent. The bagels are bad but the service is worse. I won't bother you again with my patronage.

Probably spoiled in the city, but by far the worst bagel breakfast sandwhich I have had aside from fast food. Maybe, it was because the guy who prepared it left it on the counter while I was on a business call instead of bringing it ten feet to me so I knew it was done. Half warm didn't hel any. Small. Cramped. No wi fi. Door bangs annoyingly and the sign on the door to close it doesn't seemd to get noticed so everyone who comes in is asked to close the door. It could be a nice little nook. What is it with such foul service people? Were they dot com leftovers doing wahtever they can for work? It wouldn't surprise me these days. Pride in ownership, local, and peer business is what I look to support. i love working with people I know, and giving them business! read more

Be prepared for the best bagel you've ever eaten! Seriously. Also be ready to be charged if you use your ATM card. I won't go in there again without cash. $1.50 (even though the sign says $1) for a $7.00 purchase. And seriously who uses cash anymore? I can do without bagles the rest of my life. read more

The owner was working hard and filling orders himself. The prices were good. If you're looking for traditional (East coast style) bagels, boiled then baked, this isn't your place. If you want an inexpensive and fast breakfast on the go, that isn't fast food, give it a try. read more

Bigots and they don't even know it. Read the bible and understand it before you open your mouth and insert foot. Bagels and customer service are terrible! read more

This is the worst owner operated restaurant ive ever been too. The owner is RUDE, gave us rotten left over bottom of lettuce, tomato, and onion, as well as smashed bagel. I asked this to be fixed and was told this is how they come. Did not want to make this customer happy what-so-ever. I will NEVER step foot is this horrible place again. As well as send any customers his way as I work at a downtown business. Never again, RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!!!!! read more

I travel for work, and I had a gap in my schedule so I spotted this local establishment. I walked in around 11AM, not busy and most of the bagels were practically gone. I took a chance and just ordered. I got a salmon lox sandwich on a jalapeno bagel. BEST SANDWICH EVER! Not only was the bagel soft, but just everything about this sandwich was on point! Try it, you won't be disappointed! I see why most of the bagels were gone by 11AM! So glad there was a jalapeno bagel left (which is my go to bagel at any bagel shop). Hope I am able to come back again. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. We wanted to support a local business however we received terrible customer service and the bagels here aren't worth it. Don't waist your time coming her, go to Safeway instead, you'll get better quality and better service. read more

You know how a plain bagel is just a round circle of dough with nothing really going for it and is empty and hollow in the center? Well, the owner is exactly like that only sprinkle it with rudeness. He has an attitude which is similar to the dry, cardboard bagels he serves. He acts as though he is doing you a favor by selling you a crappy bagel & you should be honored to set foot in his unfriendly little den of negativity. Do yourself a favor & don't waste your money. There are plenty of other local cafes that welcome and appreciate your business. read more

A small local place with a good vibe. The bagels are more like soft buns than real bagels. Maybe a tactic to keep Yankees fans away haha. But the soft bun with egg was tasty enough, next time I'll ask for more salt and pepper, although the hygiene concerns notes by others are kinda sketch. read more

Not really a fan, sorry. Every time I've been here, the bagels are dry and stale. Honestly you really can get a better bagel at Safeway. Don't waste your time l. read more

I used to come here all the time when I was in high school. Recently took my husband here as I've been craving a bagel for some time. What a mistake! The man taking orders got my husbands order wrong and seemed irritated when I mentioned something. Basically saying we didn't order what we did. The young kid (his son?) was helping prepare the food. Neither of them wore gloves. Yet, handled money and the phone without washing hands. After our food was finished and wrapped up the kid wiped his nose. Still no hand washing. What a disappointment! The bagels were not the same and hardly any cream cheese. They did taste fresh. That's the only compliment I have. Sorry, but we won't be back... read more

Bagels are awesome. I'm from NY. 'Nough said there. Yes the owner is less than friendly. It's a bagel shop. Par for the course. Took away a star for use of a microwave to heat eggs and meats. read more

Called to ask what time they close and they answered In a very rude way . That he didn't know until he ran out .. never going there again .. read more

The best ever! LOVE IT! I think anyone who says they don't love it must have gone on a bad day. The people are so nice and friendly, it's SO good! I recommend it to everyone! read more

mmmmmm. The bagels are good (boiled then baked like they should be! None of this fake bagel cooking that everyone else does). The owners are present and friendly (local high schoolers have left prom and school pictures with personal hellos throughout the glass covered tables). The food is delicious. The prices are low. By far the best $2-5 lunch in town! read more

I have been in The Bagel Bin many times and I've never had any issues until this last Saturday. Sarg took my order and treated me so rudely! I had no idea what I was going order since the bagel I usually get was sold out. He rolled his eyes and talked to me like I was a piece of crap. He said where are you from because you act like a tourist. Won't be going back there anymore. He had such an arrogant attitude. read more

By far the best bagel I've had. Don't be fooled by how small and simple the establishment is, they have some serious bagels. They have a surprisingly good french roast coffee too. There is only a few places that value quality food in Sonora and this is one of them. Best to bring cash cuz they charge for using a card. read more

Awesome bagels cute little hole in the wall place. Been going here for years, Sarge is one of those people that treat people as he is treated. If you're fun and kind he's the same way back. The bagels are always fresh and yummy, but get there early because they sell out fast!!! read more

It's taken me five years to actually visit the Bagel Bin! We got a couple veggie sandwiches, and they were good - pretty straightforward, something the average person could make at home, but it's always nice to have it done for you. Bagels are made fresh, which is a plus, too. read more

I have been coming to Bagel Bin since high school which was 15 years ago. My teenagers are now going before Sonora High starts in mornings. I went today and still delicious as ever. Pizza bagel is timeless!!! read more

Had one of their pizza bagels at a shop in Groveland three weeks ago. Dreaming about it now. Never been to their Sonora shop, but I want to!

You can get the best bagels there are from the Bagel Bin. These are made by hand and not by a machine. Frantastic read more

My husband and I ate at this little bagel place last weekend and discovered they had the best bagels we had ever tasted. The owner was so nice and he was the one waiting on us and also preparing the sandwiches we ordered. Be sure to stop there if you ever are in Sonora! read more

I love the Bagel Bin. I've been going there since I was a child and now my kids are just as excited to go as I was! Great food, great price and great service! No complaints here! read more

Please don't go. Breakfast sandwiches were microwaved. Owner claimed he had no ketchup. Also by far the worst coffee I've ever had in my life, no hyperbole. It tasted watered down yet charred beyond recognition, and I've drunken 2 day old coffee sitting in my car in a thermos that tasted better than this. ALSO HE HAD NO KETCHUP. clearly we weren't from around these parts and he wanted us out #localsonly. read more

I had a breakfast bagel made with a cheese bagel. Personally I was surprised that a microwave was used to heat the sausage and cook the egg, but it worked. Aside from that, the bagel was EXCELLENT! It had the right amount of doughiness, firmness, and flavor. Beware: there is a $1.50 for using a credit card. Be sure to bring cash! read more

Sausage egg and cheese on a cheese bagel! Best ever! It's a tiny hole in the wall but it's the best bagel in town.

I love Noah's bagels and in this area I can't find good bagels. I just found this place. All I can say is wow. These things are amazing and the guy is funny. read more

Ok bagels, worse customer service. We had tried for months to go there and kept forgetting they're CLOSED SUNDAYS. Breakfast places just shouldn't be closed on Sunday. I'm assuming the gentleman who helped us was the owner. He didn't greet us, and didn't ask questions to ensure we were getting the bagel sandwich/product we wanted (for instance, it's good information to know the sandwich doesn't come with cream cheese). He then didn't take the cash we were holding out to pay. At this point in time, another person came to help with orders. Next, he took another customer's order and cash while we stood there, $20 and bagel sandwiches in hand and asked us to "hold on." He finally took our payment after fixing another person's order... No acknowledgment of the customer experience we had. The bagel was just not to the caliber I had expected. All in all, a totally disappointing experience. We're still fairly new to the area, had hopes of a sweet little bagel shop, and are feeling let down. read more

Great small town feel and home made quality. Pizza bagel with bacon egg and cheese is a great start to the day. Get there early if you want the best selection and service. And I do mean, early. There's also yummy vegan cookies and Odwalla drinks. read more

Very good bagels. I always come here and the owner Sarge is a great man. Some times the sons are helping him too, great guys Sam and Matt. Good customer service. Thank you. read more

Not sure why this man is always so rude. He has terrible customer service and will not let any of the Cosmetology students make any orders. That is a lot of lost business for him. However the Lighthouse is amazing to them and the owner even delivers the orders himself. read more

I live in Sonora and only eat their crappy bagels out of desperation for a bagel....they suck, the bagels suck, doughy, overly salty (sometimes) and the service SUCKS BALLS, it's like they don't care if you are even there! I've stood there while the owner was on a "businesss call" for a good five minutes, (un-frickin' believable) plus they don't even use butter on their bagels; margarine on a bagel?!!WTF?!! Good if I had the "dough" I'd open a real bagel bakery and drive this loser out of business....please learn how to make a decent bagel and pretend to polite and a little bit grateful for the business you do get (from people who don't know any better or don't care). If I could give negative stars, I would...seriously it's just sad. read more

The bagels are good but the service is 50/50. Plus no gloves which makes me hope he washes his/her hands

Yummm! I had a turkey sandwich and it was awesome! I ordered it, he made it, I paid, and I took it to go and ate it. I don't really care that he didn't make small talk with me or ask how my day was, I went there for food. Some of these bad reviewers are such whiners. You don't have to become friends with every person you encounter. If they are having a bad day or don't want to talk, leave them be. Get your food and shove it in your face. read more

Sarg is top notch and the food is good also. Great person tells it like it is. No problems if you support the second amendment, you don't have to be politically correct either. Thanks Sarg. Yes I am talking about the Bagel Ben in Sonora, Ca. Terry Iveson read more

Worst experience ever. Rude service, terrible bagel and the most disgusting coffee I have ever had. I could have made a cup better using dirty toilet water. There was also no ketchup available for an egg sandwich? What? read more

I love this place, very good sandwiches and well priced. Every time i drive by Sonora i have to stop at Bagel Bin.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant/coffee shop/etc. And that is absolutely NO exaggeration. I ordered a mocha and the pleasant fellow (note the sarcasm) behind the counter named Josh informed me that they don't serve mochas. I kindly pointed out that they have mochas boldly displayed on their menu and he snapped back at me and told me if I had a problem with the menu that I could let "Sarge" know, as if I'm supposed to know who Sarge is, and then I suggested that they cover the mocha up on the menu with tape (as they had obviously done with other items on it), so people didn't order it if they don't serve it. What a concept! Again, he snapped at me as rudely as I've ever been treated in my life, wouldn't even look at me, and sarcastically told me to write a suggestion note and leave it in the suggestion cup (which is non-existent). A little tip to Josh who works at the Bagel Bin: if you have an issue serving people, customer service is not the place for you and your attitude. I'm sorry you've obviously had life issues, parents probably divorced, probably still reeling from your recent break-up with your boyfriend, but that is no excuse to treat a customer as if they were an incompetent idiot unable to catch the abrupt tone seeping from your over-the-top, out-of-control attitude. Rest assured, I will NEVER EVER come back to this place, and will even go out of my way to make sure none of the people that I love and care about have the chance to encounter such a rude individual like yourself. You don't belong out in public. Do the public a favor, don't work with them. Might I suggest attending group therapy for your anger problems. Oh, and the cinnamon roll I bought? Crusty, old, hard, and had the most horrid flavor. My 5 year old could make a better cinnamon roll. read more
