Sugar Score For The Win…read more My husband knows a quality dessert - and The Sugar Sorceress definitely delivered on taste this past weekend. Katlyn's creations are not only delicious - but they're also darling. Each one is crafted with such care and intent - -that you almost don't want to eat them. They're just too darn cute! Katlyn is The Sugar Sorceress - creating pure magic in the kitchen on the regular. She masterfully whips up masterful standard and custom cakes for different spots in and around the Tuolumne County area. I believe as of now you can find her enchanting baked goods at various local farmer's markets, local events, and at The Service Station etc. Her baking truly is a versatile artform. She can produce the most beautiful little hand held colorful cake - decorated with absolute precision, in addition to manifesting a more straightforward (yet, I'm sure absolutely delicious) chocolate caramel brownie and/or cinnamon roll. She is also able to create beautiful gluten free, vegan, and dairy free desserts in addition to straightforward butter filled baked goods - rich with taste and elegance. If you're looking for something sweet, or something a little less sweet - Katlyn is your Sugar Sorceress. She knows how to craft the perfect dessert for anybody and everybody. This past weekend - I picked up a charming individual sized Biscoff Cookie cake as well as a gluten-free, and vegan peanut butter chocolate chip cookie - from her dessert stand at a local event. My husband loved both items and they were the perfect size - for a late night treat. The Biscoff Cookie cake was a punch of buttery cinnamon and brown sugar, and the cookie was also bursting with flavor. If you're looking for a unique dessert spread or special custom cake for a big occasion - check out The Sugar Sorceress. Also - be sure to stay tuned to her Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/sugarsorceress to learn of where her delightful creations and dessert booth will be set up next. Trust.

There was only one other person in there when we arrived, but by the time we left it was packed! Counter staff was super friendly and I love that you can see the hard work that's happening in the back of the house. It's such a cozy vibe. They post their daily menu to Instagram so I already had a list of what I wanted, but it all looked SO GOOD so we left with much more than originally planned. Bagels: the BEST and I mean BEST sourdough bagels that I've ever had. When others make them a lot of times they turn out too dense, but these were perfectly puffed on the outside, a little tangy, and chewy when you rip into the bite. YUM! Today they had cheddar, plain, and everything. Classic Sourdough: perfectly cooked, perfectly chewy. I've had the cheddar-jalapeño before and it had a great flavor but that loaf was a little too chewy for me. The classic hits just right. They also have flavors like apple cinnamon, garlic, and gouda rosemary... just to name a few. AND they have some gluten-free if that's what you're into or need. It's coming fresh out of the oven regularly. Cookies: don't sleep on the sourdough cookies! They're perfectly chewy, large, and so flavorful. The molasses are my favorite but honorable mentions include snickerdoodle, peanut butter, and chocolate chip. They also have an assortment of cakes - we opted for a huge slice of carrot cake that was a "small" - and desserts. There were cinnamon rolls, tiramisu, and honestly so much more that I blacked out a little and wanted one of everything. All in all, we walked away with a full bag of bread and treats for only $32! They take card and cash. As I mentioned before, be sure to follow their IG @2acrefarms_sonorasourdough for what's offered daily!

Sourdough snickerdoodle cookie, breakfast muffin, and the nice gal threw in a lemon tart. The breakfast muffin was covered with crumble and oats which made my husband anticipate a brown sugar crumble topping like you would put on coffee cake . Except this crumble tasted like breadcrumbs with a few oatmeal pieces sprinkled in. The muffin itself was like a carrot cake with little bits of carrot and raisin visible with just the slightest hint of spice, otherwise, tasteless, although the presentation was very nice . The snickerdoodle cookie had a nice sour flavor but was dry and unappealing. The lemon tart had no lemon flavor. Maybe it was marked wrong? I've heard great reviews about their sourdough. We didn't try it. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be coming back .

An absolute must-visit on Washington Street in Sonora!…read more The Local Collective is exactly what its name represents: a place rooted in genuine care for people, families, and the local community. What stands out immediately is how kind and welcoming the owners are. This is truly a family-run shop, and you can feel the intention behind everything they do. They aren't just stocking shelves, they are thoughtfully sourcing items they would confidently choose for their own family and children. That level of care is rare. We bought a hoodie, hat, and t-shirt for my daughter's birthday, and she has been wearing them every single day since. The quality is incredible! I mean really. These are not cheaply made pieces. You can feel the difference right away in the fabric, the fit, and the durability. What makes this place even more special is the heart behind it. It's not just about business. It is about people. They genuinely care about the families who walk through their doors and he went out of his way to offer products that reflect that. They do not jack up the prices but the quality is better than an REI or Sax 5th Avenue. I know good quality and these items are made very well. We also purchased a tumbler for my children, bird house, two stuffed animals, and a few other little things and the quality and make are consistent throughout the store no matter what it is. Having seven children we know good quality items. Unfortunately, it is not an unfamiliar experience to see things break after purchasing. Not here! If you're looking for meaningful, high-quality items and want to support a family that truly puts other families first, this is a place you'll want to keep coming back to and buying from again and again.

This is probably my favorite local shop to get coffee. It tastes the same every time (yummy &…read moreconsistent) and I trust that I'm getting the decaf espresso that I ask for. I've also purchased many items from here like mugs, candles, t shirts, children's sensory toys, stickers, jewelry, sauces, and a Christmas advent calendar. I never really know what I'm going to find in Local Collective, but there's always something I want. I also love love loveee the atmosphere. It's so welcoming, the music's always on point, and the staff is very friendly. 10/10 my favorite shop in downtown Sonora.
