Our first time in many years having Korean food, modern take on that as well. What an enjoyable evening! The ambiance here is something very special. The service was impeccable, the food totally delicious, parking right out front, this is a very welcoming restaurant. Definitely we ordered too much and had enough for another meal at home. Condiments were presented for us with explanations throughout. The presenter was right on in every way he handled the questions and answers. Braised short ribs, beef bulgogi, sweet potato glass noodles... what a meal! They offer very nice lunch specials and I can see their business growing in time as the word will get out more and more about this fine restaurant right here in the Lowry business district. Kudos to the folks who work here as they offer fine dining in a comfortable neighborhood setting.

Bulgogi lunch special

We don't usually go out for lunch, let alone ball out, but we did both on a Friday afternoon at BaekGa and have zero regrets. First, the restaurant is beautiful. Definitely a great pick for a date night, provided you don't mind rolling yourself home after lots of yummy food! Our server was great. Granted, we were the only customers, but he still went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, answer our questions, provide recommendations, and even share some insight into Korean culinary practices and traditional preparations. We definitely over-ordered, but everything was delicious. Even the banchan and simple, broth-based beef soup that came with my husband's lunch special were hard to put down! We started with the tteobbokki, which was so good and a huge serving. Probably best split with a larger group, but we couldn't resist! The rice cakes were delightfully chewy, the sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, and I enjoyed the long strips of fishcake, which I'd never tried in this dish before. For our mains, my date had the bulgogi and loved it. Our server politely advised me that we didn't both need everything that came with the lunch specials (this was good advice), so I got the LA Galbi (short rib) bowl and we shared all the little dishes (banchan) that came with the beef bulgogi. We ate very well and took home a full bag of leftovers. The prices aren't cheap, but the quality is worth it, the portions are generous, and the service is wonderful. I'd love to come back, but will probably exercise a little more self-restraint when ordering the next time I find myself in for "just" lunch.

Sundubu Stew

This is one of the best Korean restaurants in town. Period. Quality food meets quality service. My wife and I have been here twice in two weeks because we loved our time here. The price to quality ratio certainly in there for people who searching for these gems. The meat selection is excellent, and their stews are delicious. Their side dishes are also generous and are high quality. Ambiance is modern and casual. Would recommend this to everyone!

Seafood Pancake

Amazing place for Korean food. I would say that all of the dishes we tried were very flavorful and authentic tasting. The pork belly had a smoky flavor, and the seafood pancake (had egg which was different) was chewy and umami. The tuna kimbap was so jam packed with veggies and tuna! I would say that the nutella hoddeok was also incredibly soft and sweet, but I think they ferment the dough themselves, and I could taste some alcohol in it. I would say for those that are a bit sensitive to the bitter taste of alcohol to pick a different dessert to try!

Gangjung Original

My new favorite hidden gem! The staffs were super sweet and welcoming. I left my keys on the table and the server ran out to give them back right away!!! We ordered Gangjung Original, Jeon Kimchi, Pork Belly Kimbap, Braised Short Rib, and Champagne Kimchi. Everything was so good and definitely more than enough to feed a group of 5. Desserts were a hit too. We tried their Hotteok & Ice Cream and Nutella Hotteok (so delicious, highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth). Super nice, chill vibes with amazing food and service. Can't wait to come back!

I took the Gangjung and put in mini to-go containers with bamboo tongs

I catered a large amount of Baekga Korean Kitchen Gangjung, crispy fried chicken bites in a delicious sauce, to be served at a happy hour group. Everyone loved it, and there was not a morsel left. This was so much easier than preparing something on a 100-degree day! Thanks, Patrick, for the fast service! This wonderful restaurant is located in the Lowry Town Center, which has the best parking in front and in back in Denver!!! I served the pieces of Gangjung in small to-go containers with mini bamboo tongs. Adorable!

Japchae and seafood pancake

The restaurant has very limited seating so I'd recommend doing an earlier meal time and/or do a reservation if it's available. Many people were turned away since they were booked for the rest of the night. Parking is pretty easy since it is in a shopping complex. Staff is very friendly and will recommend dishes if you're curious. We tried their champagne kimchi which was different - light, served chilled, nice presentation, not overly fermented. We ordered many dishes to share family style but wasn't prepared for the main entrees to come out with the full Banchan tray so we had to take to go. Everything we ate was delicious and there wasn't much of a wait from ordering until service. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back!

scallion pancake

My friend and I came here hungry and got the scallion pancake and the braised short rib. That was a lot of food. We tried everything and it really hit the spot especially on a cold night. I definitely recommend coming for a date or to catch up with a friend. Service was pretty friendly and quick. I am definitely coming back!

What a lovely restaurant! This spot has been on my list for years and I cant believe I waited so long to try it. Upon walking in through the door, we were warmly greeted by the host. As someone who is not too familiar with South Korean food, we were so excited to try a bit of everything. The banchan plate was so fun to try, as a fan of kimchi and all pickled things, every bite was heaven. I could eat this food everyday and be so happy, especially the spring onion/seafood pancake. The pancake batter itself was subtly sweet and it was so satisfyingly crispy. It did not feel too oily or heavy either, the sauce served with it was very light which added a nice constrast. Due to the increase in egg prices all around, our waiter kindly let us know that they would have to upcharge our order of the veggie kimbap. It was worth the extra dollar or so and we really appreciated the clear communication of the staff. The restaurant filled up fast, but there is ample parking around this area, and it is very walkable as well. Can't wait to come back and try out some other dishes.

One of my favorite new spots in Denver! Just the sweetest owners with super friendly service -- and fantastic Korean flavors! Perfect for a lunch rice bowl or soup -- or a dinner feast. We loved everything! And so many other things I wish we could have tried! - Mandoo (fried pork dumplings) are superb, with just enough crispiness and the perfect dipping sauce - Tteoboki (rice cakes) were actually a much bigger dish than we expected -- a large soup bowl full of stuff! - Pork Belly Kimbap (rolls) were basically like enormous sushi rolls stuffed with meat - Sundubu Stew (spicy tofu soup with beef and veggies) would make me come back just for this! Would love to try the other stews, too, like Galbi Tang and Mandoo Soup. - Braised Short Rib (big plate) with all the yummy banchan (mini side) trays. - WOW, THE NUTELLA STUFFED PANCAKE DESSERT WITH BANANAS A LA "BANANAS FOSTER"! Incredible. And really can't go wrong with any of the bowls, like beef bulgogi, (chicken thigh) dak-galbi, jeyuk (spicy marinated pork), pork belly, LA galbi (my favorite beef short ribs), and more.

Kristen R.

Amazing experience at BaekGa. We started with the champagne kimchi, the dumplings, and the chewy rice cakes. All were delicious! We then ordered the LA Galbi, the Sundubu stew, the beef bulgogi and the Kimbap crispy shrimp. The nut pancake dessert with ice cream is a slight. Wow! This has been a memorable and delicious experience.

Kimbap Bulgogi

Right off the bat, this spot is nicely designed on the inside. It was pretty empty around 6pm on a Sunday and we were seated right away. The service was okay -- not as attentive esp only being one of two parties dining. Food -- Bulgogi Kimbap 5/5 -- the rolls are as big as your face lol it was overall well made and I appreciated everything in the roll. Mandoo Soul 5/5 -- the mandoo were big! The rice cakes were a little mushier but over all, the egg, onion, and seaweed were perfectly balanced with the soup. Pork Belly and LA Galbi rice bowl 5/5 -- season well and generous with the meat! Unlimited side dishes -- kimchi, cucumber, and some type of squash. I wouldn't mind coming back if I was in deep craving for Korean. This spot ranges from $15-60 to apps and entrees. I would prefer going to a more homey mom and pop shop before coming here. This place is more higher end.

I was excited to check out a new Korean restaurant that wasn't in the typical Havana St area where most of them are located. Looking at their menu, it looked like I was going to try some genuine Korean dishes. Overall, the food is mediocre. Definitely not bad but nothing to write home about either. The kimchi jjigae (kimchi soup) had too much pepper flakes, not enough salt, and not enough kimchi/meat. The spicy pork was decent but needed a little more flavor. The side dishes tasted similar to what you get premade at H Mart. The prices are much too high for what is offered especially for the lunch menu. $23-$28 for a single item lunch special with minimal and small side dishes? On top of that, they charge $5/bucket of lettuce wrap, $1-$2 per side dish for refill, and $3 for rice? That is crazy. Overall, I would highly recommend going to other Korean places near Havana St even if you have to drive.

The experience here is exactly what I want from Korean BBQ: lively, satisfying, and easy to settle into for a while. The cheese corn is an absolute must and easily one of the best sides on the table. The steamed egg was fluffy and comforting, and the meats were the real highlight. The pork belly was rich and well cut, the bulgogi was flavorful, and the short ribs were tender and cooked beautifully. Add a few bottles of soju and suddenly you've lost track of time in the best way. This is the kind of place you go with friends, order generously, and just enjoy the night. The quality of the meat is good, the portions were big enough for the two of us, but definitely would not be enough if there were more in our party. This isn't an AYCE place like many other Korean BBQ restaurants, so expect to pay per meat selection. The prices are comparable to other non-AYCE restaurants in Aurora though. Total for the two of us: about $200, which included the tip. We dined on a weeknight so there wasn't a wait but I assume there is one on the weekends since the restaurant is fairly small. The service was fast and friendly and they checked on us often. Brush up on your parallel parking since only street parking is available.
