I haven't had much in the way of Korean food, but this place rocks. Loved the wings- we got the mild teriyaki and the spicy secret, and hands down the spicy secret was stellar. I thought I would be too much of a wuss for it, but if I could go back I would order all of them that flavor. The kimchi fries were stellar as well- they had kimchi, jalapeño, queso fresco, bulgogi sauce and beef on them, and they were so flavorful. The portion was huge too- it would have been a good appetizer for 4-6 people, rather than to split between the two of us. I wish they offered a half portion. The only thing we weren't a fan of were their cocktails- the flavor was good but they tasted weak. We tried the Seoul Sunset and the Forbidden Fruit, and the Forbidden fruit was definitely better. Get a beer or wine instead. They do have happy hour on Friday and Saturday. Service was friendly and quick, if not super talkative. The ambiance was fun, upscale city with neon colors and brick. First, I have been in a couple of times and tried new things from the menu every time. Everything has been fantastic, but I will say they have terrible service. Most of the times that I have stopped in have been during my lunch break, and it is usually empty inside, so I do not understand why it takes so long for the employees to get the service going. The female who served me gave me a cup of water, walked away for about 10 minutes, then returned, and all she said was ready to order. That was the only interaction I had with her besides bringing the bill and some boxes. Every time I come, it's like this. Hopefully, this doesn't steer you away, but this is a fair warning not to expect warm service or really any service at all. As for the food, I usually get Korean-style chicken wings. I ordered the garlic soy flavors and spicy flavors! These are some of my favorite wings in the Denver area. They are always juicy, crispy, and flavorful. If I wasn't such a self professed "Korean Fried chicken" addict Mono Mono would get a higher rating. It was good and I've certainly had worse but their chicken wasn't as crunchy as I like or expected and not as flavorful. To be fair they only offered their version of Korean Fried chicken batter on their bone in wings. Some of these wings could have been over cooked and dry but weren't, so lots of kudos for balancing some crispness with tenderness. I think they rely too much on their creamy style dipping sauce to give the wings that extra umph, which didn't work for me. They do have a "southern style" batter for their drumsticks which didn't try. The real find for me were their fried Brussels spouts! Wow these were amazing with a capital amazing. Crispier and lighter than standard tempura which I didn't expect. It also has a umami filled sauce that was mostly in the bottom...don't forget to toss it slightly for that extra level of umami. This place does what it says on the tin Good Korean-style Fried chicken nothing more nothing less. I had their mild popcorn chicken and fries both were two different variations of gochujang. For the chicken it was a sweet honey + gochujang sauce and for the fries (I think) it was a gochujang powder. After getting our food, we were casually informed by the server Miss B that the restaurant closes at 9:00 PM. So we quickly put our food in boxes. When I went to pay at 8:45, I noticed a 20% service charge had been added to the bill. I asked if gratuity was manually included, and the server simply said "yes" without any additional elaboration. I meant to tip that much anyway so I paid but I felt skeptical. As we left the restaurant, I told my friends , who were shocked because this had never happened to them before. I even spoke to another table of four nearby, and they were unaware whether gratuity had been manually added. Meaning if you don't notice it, you just pay it, and you add your gratuity on top. That's not transparency, that's predatory. With the information, I went back to ask for clarity, and only then did Miss B explained that a 20% tip is automatically added to any table that stays past 8:30 PM. No notice, no consent, and no signage. We were appalled, not only by the policy but by the dismissive attitude of the server, who showed hostility, glaring eyes, and failed to communicate something that directly affects customers' wallets. If this is the standard practice here, it needs to be clearly disclosed up front, not hidden at the end when you're already paying. Diners deserve honesty and respect, not surprise "service" charges. Place is great! During the lunch hour, you can see others know it, too -- the place is hopping! Prices aren't cheap (is anything anymore?!) but the food is decently sized and pretty unique. Adding lemon and crumbled cheese on the shoshitos was refreshing to see! So many places are so bland and uncreative with things like shoshitos and edamame -- these can be doctored up! The cheese-stuffed chicken katsu definitely did not look like the picture in their promotional items, but it was fine. This is not a bad spot to check out. It is a little difficult to order as you are really looking at sandwiches and fries, not really any substitutions. Wow!!!! What an amazing restaurant. It is located in the heart of downtown Denver, between the sports district and Union Station. There is metered street parking on the street out front and commercial lots within a reasonable walking distance. My server was very friendly an attentive. She explained the difference between K-fried chicken and regular fried chicken, and yes, there is a difference. They have a menu with signature cocktails, beer, wine, fried chicken (wings, tenders, popcorn...) and Korean fried chicken (KFC). The chicken comes in 2 sauce choices, mild or spicy. The KFC comes with your choice of spicy garlic, hot & spicy, teriyaki soy and teriyaki hot. I ended up ordering a six piece of the Korean wings with hot an spicy sauce with a side of seasoned fries. I got a Seoul Sunset to wash it down. It took about 8 minutes or so to get my food and it was hot and delicious. The drink was very savory too. The wings were very flavorful and the sauce had a little kick to them, like it like, but nothing too hot. The seasoning on the fries was awesome. It had a hint of sweet with a little heat. Stumbled here after our flight got cancelled while in Denver. This place is what I believe is their version of downtown? Place is small but it was busy and has great space between tables so you don't need uncomfortable. Service was great but a bit slow but understandably so. Here is a hidden gem in Lodo! It's a quaint place located on Blake street right off 16th street. I am a creature of habit and always order the 6 piece crispy drumsticks. They are not the usual greasy fried chicken but perfectly fried and delightfully tasteful! The drumsticks are small but filling. My husband is a big Asian fried chicken fan so when we were in the area because family was in town visiting (we don't frequent the 16th st mall area otherwise) we decided to check Mono Mono out. My husband and I split the Popcorn Chicken in special sauce and bulgogi nachos. My SIL got their brussel sprouts so I was also able to sample those. The bulgogi nachos were delicious and I'd highly recommend. The chicken was solid but a bit dry... the special sauce had a good kick though. The brussels were much better once you mixed everything around in their sauce. What a great spot to eat! I am a huge fan of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken!!) and did not expect to find a spot in Denver. I was here the night after a music festival so there were lots of huge groups of festival-goers also in the restaurant; the vibe was great since there were ton of people mingling and drinking with each other! Our service was decently fast too. We shared some soy garlic wings which were spectacular - very flavorful and crunchy. I definitely got that sauce all over my hands and face because I was eating it super fast. While the chicken was good and also crispy, it was not as crispy as the garlic soy fried chicken. The overload of sauce might have had something to do with it. My husband and I had heard so many great things about this place so we finally decided to wander in here on a random Thursday night. The place wasn't too busy when we got there around 6:30 PM, but it gradually filled up while we sat there. Like many restaurants, Mono Mono seemed to be a bit understaffed, so service was slow, but that was to be expected. Despite the slower serivce, everyone was friendly and we almost always had our water filled up which was really nice considering we were eating somewhat spicy food! We ordered the corn cheese, the kimchi fries, and the saucy popcorn chicken (mild). Because service was a bit slow, each order came out one by one - so we would eat the corn cheese, then the kimchi fries would come out, then once we were almost done with that, the popcorn chicken came out. That wasn't a huge deal - especially since we enjoyed every dish! The corn cheese was super cheesy, and also sweet, with the corn flavor blending deliciously with the cheese. The Kimchi fries were delicious - so saucy and the meat on top was so tender - YUM. And finally, the popcorn chicken was also delicious, and even though we got mild, it did still have a little kick which I appreciated. But overall, I think the kimchi fries were my favorite - so flavorful! I would definitely come back here if I'm ever craving Korean fried chicken again! read more

I loved how crispy the chicken skin was- not too oily either. Also ordered the Kimchi bulgogi french fries & they were a hit, not spicy if you're worried about heat. Perfect amount for 2 (hungry) people to split. This is the place to be, not just Korean fried chicken but lots of tasty dishes to go along side. Some fab items we tried: Corn Cheese: simple, tasty, bubbly! So good we ordered a second round! Mono fries: potato wedges and crumbly cheese! Flavorful and addictive Half and half signature wings: half spicy and half soy garlic! Came here because it was close and wanted to eat dinner before heading to the airport. Really glad we picked this place because it was a great find. The Korean fried chicken had great crispy texture and good flavor as well. Yes it is sweet but I liked it and I feel like the negative reviews were because they expected American fried chicken instead of Korean fried chicken. Also got their corn cheese and it was amazing. Great extra sweetness to the corn and the cheese was amazingly melty with great cheese pull. The server was really attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Also really liked the music and vibe of this place - definitely could hang out with a group of friends and just chill. If I'm ever in the area again I would come for sure come back as well as recommend it to my friends to visit read more
