When I said something about it she smiled real big and stated she didn't even think anything about it. She proceeded to put the silverware under the hostess counter. Considering how badly this place screwed up, two stars is generous. That's only because it wasn't a total filth pit. I showed up alone and in need of a replacement for 5 Guys as my keto burger jam to test them out. When I was seated I told the hostess she could seat me wherever was easiest for her, not picky. I did not think that would come back to bite me. She then sat a mob scene of adjoining tables with multiple kids, a dog, and people constantly getting up and playing musical chairs. Chill place to eat was not on the menu. It was so obnoxious that the couple seated diagonally across from me and behind this mess got up and walked out before even ordering their drinks. And here I thought coming in alone would make it common sense that I don't want to be seated next to John and Kate plus too friggin many. Now to the order. I ordered Monketosis. I did not expect questions about what kind of lettuce I wanted and a nonsensical explanation about lack of feasibility in ordering another burger and requesting a lettuce wrap. Like I just want the kind of lettuce that doesn't have stinking carbs and that you can wrap the burger in so I can pick it up like a burger. What I got was an open-faced sandwich served on top of a salad. The server asked me if I wanted this situation rectified, but by that point I was already halfway done and did not want my food getting colder. For the love of god 5 Guys was fast food and they could manage to do this perfectly. If you are going to market yourselves to the keto crowd, we just want cost-effective food without a hassle. And we expect that if you are going to market to us, maybe be a little bit less tone-deaf about our needs. This was definite NEVER AGAIN, as the food was homogeneous and overpriced albeit decent enough. Good: Our server was friendly and helpful. Bad: The place was packed. While we waited for a table, I noticed the busers wiping the tables with something that looked like napkins, rather than washcloths in sanitizer. The wipes were smearing the tables but I could see the grease streaks left behind. Not a good sign. Our table was greasy as well but I used a napkin and glass condensation to wipe it down. We should have realized we were in for a problem, however, when my boyfriend unrolled his napkin and found a hair rolled in with his silverware. But, mistakes happen and our server got us new ones quickly so we stayed. I ordered fish tacos. The fish was plentiful but tasteless. If I closed my eyes and ate it, I wouldn't have known it was fish. The toppings were fine although the avocado had started to turn brown. I ended up eating the filling with a fork and left a lot on the plate. He ordered a burger with a fried egg on top with a side of fries. Fries were bland. The worst, however, was the egg. The top layer of egg white was uncooked. Nothing like egg snot to turn your stomach and ruin dinner. The server comped our sodas and reduced the burger price when we showed her the raw egg white. Right on the strip, and on a day with good weather, offers a great view sitting in the patio area up top looking down at the strip. Definitely recommend trying their fries - drizzled with truffle oil and powdered parmesan. it was my first time having fries like that, and although I really didn't like it for my first couple of bites, soon I could not stop eating them. Hum this is a tough one. We've been wanting to try this place for years, heard nothing but good things about it. We went on a Sunday morning, it was packed as expected. We were told 30-45 minute wait, it ended up being about a 20 minute wait. Give you enough time to check out the store they have. Once we were texted, we headed upstairs and was seated in the bar area. Nice and cool with the AC. Many hard decision's on the menu. My wife had the French toast, which was cold. I have no idea why she did not send it back. My son had pancakes with bananas and strawberries. These looked like protein pancakes and he did not like how they taste. The charge you for each topping for your pancake. The homemade bread was great. Not to mention the Monkey Bread, which can be made very easily at home. If you order a second round of Monkey Bread, you are charged. I would be willing to give the Bad Monkey a second try. at least for lunch or dinner. read more

My family had breakfast here last Tuesday. We sat in the newer lower deck section. It is a great addition and loved the privacy walls around three sides of it. It was a really smart move to have put a bar down on that level too. There was one server, Courtney T. who ran the whole lower deck. She was the bartender too. She did an outstanding job. For food, my grandkids got nutella toast with bananas. I had breakfast tacos and my wife had the feta, spinach, and tomato omelette. The breakfast tacos were awesome. The chorizo was mild but flavorful. They provided a creamy avocado sauce to put on top of the tacos but for me, the sauce was perfect for dipping the breakfast potatoes in. My wife enjoyed her omelette and the kids inhaled their nutella toast. The monkey bread was a good addition too, although it seemed like it was not quite cooked all the way through and was a little doughy in the middle. It was still good though. We will definitely give Bad Monkey another visit for breakfast when we are in OC again. read more

My family and I were very disappointed that the crab dip with French bread was taken off the menu. Every year we come to OC and this is our favorite place for crab dip. I got the crab cake instead and it was tiny! The smallest crab cake I've ever seen for $20. As a suggestion, take the regular truffle fries off the appetizers section and replace it with the crab dip. Then keep the Lord of the Fries. There was about a 15 minute wait, but a super cute souvenir store you could shop around in while you wait. We got seated and we were immediately greeted by our waitress, Melanie. Hubby ordered the Hungry monkey because it comes with two pancakes and he shares one with me. I ordered the omelette with asparagus tips and brie. The hostess was wearing one at the beginning of the evening but that didn't last long. The waitress had most of her face mask on, but allowed it to sit just beneath her nose. Today was my first time dining at Bad Monkey. I came here for lunch with my son. We walked in & the unfriendly hostess walked us to our table. It took a little while for our server to come to our table. When he finally came over, I was sure to order everything all at once to prevent any further delay. I ordered a chicken sandwich & he asked if I wanted fries since they came with the sandwich. I also ordered a cheeseburger for my son. Our food came out really fast & when it did, I noticed that my fries were very greasy (you could literally see little puddles of grease on the plate). I cut my son's burger in half & noticed that it was still pink. I let the food runner know & she immediately replaced the burger. Our server wasn't very attentive to us. He never asked if we wanted to order anything else or if we wanted drink refills. He did happen to be very polite & attentive to an older caucasian couple sitting next to us. They were served immediately & he repeatedly asked them if there was anything else he could get them or do for them... When he brought our check over, I noticed that I had been charged $2.95 for the fries that supposedly "came with my chicken sandwich"... when I asked him about it, he said "oh yea, there's a small up charge of $2.95." Um, what happened to fries being included? I also noticed that he rang my son's cheeseburger in as medium well (which I never asked for), explaining why it initially came out pink... For starters there's no drink menu section besides alcohol because ocean city is full of filthy drunks. Secondly, its about as cold as the gynecologist in the middle of the winter. Our buswoman took us to our seat and almost crushed me with the table since the instructions weren't clear she was pulling the tables together. There's a lot of table pushing and since seating is clearly a problem invest in booth's like a smart restaurant. On the bright-side the food was very good. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with no tomato and just got the crab cake, buns, and lettuce. It's was supposed to come with sauce leaving it dry but still very good. Fun place! We came peak season on a Wednesday night. The place was packed! Things I like: - Bright and funky decor - great music - food was really good - generous portions - staff was responsive and timely - cute merch shop below Things I didn't like: - server put our waters on the table holding the top of the glass. Luckily there were straws or I would have not drank from them. I also saw other servers doing the same thing. I was a waitress for many years and this is one of the first things they train you on. DON'T TOUCH THE TOP OF THE GLASS! Hold it from the bottom, please. - it was freezing in there. While waiting for 45 minutes on the stairs, I heard multiple people remark when they were leaving that it was cold in there. When I was in my seat, the vent was blowing cold air directly on me. I get that it's hard to control when it's hot outside and packed inside. -someone in my group ordered the burger with avocado on it. When it arrived, there was no avocado. Mid way through the meal he said he thought his burger was supposed to have avocado. We looked at the menu and sure enough it was listed with that burger. When we asked the server, he said that it was supposed to have it but their avocados arrived rock hard. He should have mentioned that when it was ordered, or at least when he delivered it. I was irked that he just tried to pass it off and hope no one noticed. Just be honest about it - really! - just a hint to the restaurant: maybe try having the hostess station at the bottom of the stairs. If you do that, you could add a few more tables where the station currently is and make more $$. That would also eliminate the problem of your staff going back and forth across all the people waiting to get to your stock room and extra chairs. They'd also probably shop more in your store if the main waiting area is on the first level. Just my 2 cents!
