WellWhen you come in a place called the Bacon diner you think that they're going to have really good bacon for breakfast I had bacon sausage two eggs sunny side up and rye toast. My friend had the steak and eggs. First the good part the toast. It was extra wide very rye. The text came buttered it was a big old pile of toast . The bacon of course in the bacon diner was cooked terribly . it was soggy and limp. No special bacon just regular out of the damn cheap Section at the grocery store regular poorly cooked bacon. The less said about the sausage the better. The steak with the steak and eggs was just a massive pile of hard gristle my friend had a trouble even cutting it . she declined to actually eat a piece . I tried A bite . if you just wanted something to chew on you were there. But it to give another a good note the dog liked it. The coffee while it was just Folgers or whatever. At least it had been age to death in the decanter. However there was nobody no body that was there to fill up your coffee. I had asked very loud late well after my coffee was gone to get another cup. LOVE this diner! My husband and I had yet another craving for their chili cheese dog yesterday. The very best one you will find anywhere. Best all beef hot dog, Best chili (no beans) and bringing it all together, the BEST bun!!! Highly recommend the onion rings that have a perfectly crisp crust protecting the super sweet and moist onion inside. Owners are super friendly. and hard working. Maybe it's because you see the entire operation but when employees handle money then wrap silverware wo cleaning their hands, the cook wears no hair protection, licks his fingers then directly handles food.... Cleaver signage but disappointing food. They have you fill out a sushi like order sheet. I specifically listed NO BUTTER on my French toast. It showed up with a creamy topping. I don't eat raw milk products. I asked what that was and the counter guy said "syrup". Clearly it wasn't syrup. I pressed and he added it was condensed milk. Why??? I reminded him I requested no butter (for a reason) and he said condensed milk isn't butter. Duh! I'm 50 years I have never seen French Toast doused in condensed milk. We passed by the Bacon Diner on the way to Lowe's and said, "Bacon Diner"!!!!!! Had to try it on the way home. It was a delightful retro diner that took us back in time. Loved the décor with the pink caddy driven by the King Elvis Presley and passenger Marilyn Monroe herself. We ordered the bacon burger of course and it did not disappoint! Good old fashioned griddle fried on a soft sour dough type roll with many options to go on it. Make it the way you want! French fries were very good hot out of the fry pan. I like the Bacon Diner, no pretentious sittings and cash only. You pick your seat and fill out your order on your own order ticket. No mix up in the orders. They bring your drinks and take your order ticket. Nice music and the food tastes like it should, real good. I had a simple American cheese omelette, I did not find any hot peppers or onions or anything else that I did not want. For that I was thankful!
